On February 28th, 2025, officers with the Miami Beach Police Department responded to an emergency call from Ocean Rescue lifeguards reporting a man attempting to drown a dog on the beach. As officers arrived on scene, they observed the suspect dragging [music] a white pit bull into deeper ocean water and repeatedly submerging the dog's head while beachgoers gathered and shouted [music] for him to stop. In the latest updates, he has pleaded not guilty and remains scheduled for further court proceedings. While authorities confirmed the dog was safely recovered and turned over to Miami-Dade Animal Services for care.
