Drop your take in the comments below! Now for our next bad dad caught on bodycam Kenny demanded the room key — and took his anger out on everyone when Orlando Police responded to a domestic dispute at a Florida hotel on May 15th, 2022. From force to standoff, this father brought plenty of chaos We've received multiple calls from different callers, all of them are saying that they were on the third floor, possibly in room 309 Is the mother also in that room or did she go somewhere else? I'm trying to find out now, we're getting all of this 10-14 out there (unintelligible) Good one, 10-4 with one of the callers, stand by the lady at the front desk is kind of having a panic attack it looks like What happened? Um There's a man here who's (unintelligible) domestic issue, took the baby Somebody was trying to help her leave he pulled her out of the car, pushed her, took the baby, and I think he went to the third floor I don't know where he is (Unintelligible) No, where is the mom? (Unintelligible) I don't know where they are (Unintelligible) She left, she took the baby and ran So she has the baby? Where is it? Where did they run to? They went to the back, the lady and the baby, they went that way, but the guy went by the pool (Unintelligible) What does he look like? Let's start, let's start (unintelligible) He's got nice eyes Probably about 5'8, dark hair and light skin (Unintelligible) By the pool, start looking by the pool Okay She has, she has a video (Unintelligible) Yeah, I'm okay with the video (Radio chatter) They're around the neighborhood They over here, he ran out through Okay, I get that I don't care about the video yet I need to know where mom and the baby went And I need to know where he went They say he went outside (Unintelligible) She snatched the baby and ran out the door Girl was originally given the name -- (Unintelligible) So when he got out here, he -- her when she was in the (unintelligible) And he took the baby and he ran in here But then she got the baby back Yeah, they helped her get the baby back And then she ran with the baby Yes Did she run on foot? on foot, they both are on foot Which way was she (unintelligible) He, he was -- out this door He went out that door Okay She probably (unintelligible) It's a car, a black car seat No, can I get it? (Unintelligible) They don't, they don't speak english, I'm translating (Man speak in Foreign language) When we were going upstairs, we were going out the elevator, my husband and I And they were fighting in front of us -And he -White, black, Hispanic? He's white (Woman unintelligible) What color shirt? (Man speak in Foreign language) White and black (Man speak in Foreign language) What color shirt? -No, we saw them upstairs -(Man speak in Foreign language) We saw them upstairs Ma'am, what color shirt? White and, black and white He was upstairs White male with a white and black shirt The third, the third floor in the last apartment Okay (Man speak in Foreign language) (Woman speak in Foreign language) (Man speak in Foreign language) Victim and baby left Unknown DOT -(Man speak in Foreign language) -And not sure where the suspect went -(Man speak in Foreign language) -Either to the pool or room 390 He was doing the same (unintelligible) 3rd floor Okay, do me a favor Did the victim leave on foot or in a car? Victim supposedly left on foot She ran out the back of the extended stay And may have gone southbound on So it's southbound holding the baby Unknown if she got into a car later (Unintelligible) (Unintelligible) He saved the baby (Unintelligible) Me and (unintelligible) are checking the pool area Yo, when you see something, if you don't do something Hey, how did the -- come into play? He was holding a --? Yeah, he came back in with the -- and was like, um, give me the key Yeah, he was like, I don't wanna hurt you bro Give me the key, give me the key (Unintelligible) Guys, guys (Unintelligible) (Unintelligible) So she (unintelligible) held the kid He came up with a --, threatened her with a --, took the kid Told him that because he snatched the baby first and he did like this, he was like (unintelligible) Because he pulled out a -- on him The fire department is coming for you, okay? All right Take a deep breath I am I'm trying to get her to stay calm Um, I have (Unintelligible) Okay, you got EMS coming, right? Yes Okay Okay What happened to her? She's having a panic attack (Unintelligible) He tried to come over the counter and attack Part of the video, it's going to be a whiskey, Mike with a beard, short hair, a red shirt And black pants, white sneakers Apparently somebody said he's still in the building Make sure we got him -- off real by Hey Can somebody go on the violin, and see if they see a whiskey, (Unintelligible) holding a baby? I got a victim in my room Okay A victim in my room - The mom? - Yeah The mom and the baby's in my room In what room? My room In my room What room is that? All right, we got the victim It's 110 1-1-0 (Radio chatter) Will you— Are you okay, ma'am? I'm fine Okay All right Um Is there anything inside that you need? No, this isn't my room Okay Yeah, I have my stuff in here Okay Sorry, they're just helping out What's going on? So, we're having an argument He, he said You're both staying here? Yes, we're drinking wine Drinking wine Yes Okay And what happened from there? Um So, I just got back to get my charger for my phone, which was like a 2% I was going to go to my mom's, because we have a disagreement, and I, I just, I need to finish school (Woman unintelligible) I just need some more help watching her So, I was going to leave, and he knows what's going on with us And Um Uh But he started cussing me, he said, blah, blah, blah I said, you know what? Just get your stuff out of there This room's in my name There is like, you know I'm waiting for a contract, from uh, from a security clearance firm to go out and work with the Customs, US Customs Department And um, so, that's why we're here I had our last contract, so we kind of in between homes That's why we're here Um, and so, I went back to get the charger, and I had already told him I said, get your -- out, I want you gone by the time I get back (Woman unintelligible) And he said, I'm not dealing with this And I told him, (woman unintelligible) Doesn't happen all the time Most of the time, we're dealing perfectly But, you know, once in a while, (Woman unintelligible) Very quickly And um And so, I was walking out with the baby upstairs, and, (Woman unintelligible) He knew I was going to my mom's, but All right Okay, real quick You're not married? No, we're not But, you have a baby together? Yes Okay, thank you Go ahead Correct And um, so, he just started trying to grab the Grab her, and swing her (Woman unintelligible) Yeah You know? Uh, and And so, we ended up going downstairs with her And he just keeps turning, you know And I stopped— I kept letting go cause, he was just flinging her Yeah You know? And then it got to the point, where he grabbed her from me And I, (woman unintelligible) (Woman unintelligible) We jet— I jetted out, and he came around to the front here Uh-huh I said, please call the police He took my baby Uh-huh And um And then, I guess he went back to the room I don't know But the next thing you know, you see him coming down, this way, and (woman unintelligible) me He said, give me your key I don't have a cr— I dropped my phone I don't know where my phone's at Um They said they have your phone Oh, that's great And Um You know, so I didn't have the room key or anything I left most everything in the car, and I just came with this stuff Where— I don't know where my keys are at That must be in there I don't know Um So, Sorry, I'm like, (woman unintelligible) So, you you struggled down the stairs with the baby You know, just let him take her I let go Yeah Because you don't want the baby get hurt, right? Well, that and because I didn't have a phone My phone went -- So, I couldn't call y'all to help So, I ran here Please call— Everybody's looking around Nobody's trying to help me Nobody's calling police I said, call I had to look at that call 911 And he ended up, I mean, I, the guy who, I had the phone I ended up, trying to get her in this car The door's locked He came in I said, take her And he took her, and he, got me around the neck and everything With what? With his arm and everything, -- me And you know, and this, and and he -- me at some point, like a circle or something When you were in the car? No, he could -- me before that already So, that's what, you know, I'm freaking out already Sorry, like, my mind's in a spin right now And, then he went to the room key I'm like, don't give it to him (Woman unintelligible) Yeah So, he took me on the desk Just like, (woman unintelligible) and everything Echo 2-5, we're at the victim right now All right What? Do, do you have Excuse me I'm sorry (Officer unintelligible) Do you have? Um Real quick Go to the -- Where did the -- come out? The --? Yeah So, you didn't see a --? (Officer unintelligible) No, I didn't see a -- Okay All right Why? Is that related somehow? Somehow Maybe it was something else Okay So, you came You guys got in a struggle You came downstairs No He might have had one He does carry one I didn't, I didn't see it I don't know if he had it in his hand I don't know Okay So, you were both in the lobby And then what happened? Um And then I'm telling, call 911 He's yelling, give me the key Give me the key Please give me the key And I'm like, I don't have the key To your car that you guys shared? No, to the room To the room So, he gave his stuff I don't have the key It's either in the car Or dropped it somewhere that morning I don't know Or I may have left it in the room by accident Okay Um So, um cause I had to drop it in the room (Unintelligible) He didn't let me in that time And so, um, we're in the lobby and I'm like, you know, I think I'm on the phone with y'all already And I'm like, hang on I don't have it And then, the guy that had the phone, his car was right there And I'm, you know, (Woman unintelligible) So, I ran out And I'm trying to get in his car Cause the door was open I was like, open the door And the door's unlocked So, he got in there I said, take her And then he grabbed me And that's when he was kind of like, that's when all this happened So, you were trying to put the baby He saw the baby at that time? I had grabbed her I had her in my hands I got her back in the lobby And then you (Woman unintelligible) And then you took her I tried on getting caught Then you took her and put her in the car Yeah I think - I think she want's her mama - And I think she's hungry I don't want him in trouble I don't, but Right now we have -- He goes off the deep end (Woman unintelligible) Have you guys had issues in the past? Um? This was the worst Mm-hmm This was the worst I had a relationship years ago that was bad I just (unintelligible) I was not trying to get on the road This was bad enough It doesn't get better Okay I anyone else suppose to be in the room other than him? No just us That was it (unintelligible) On the ground On the ground! On the ground! (Radio chatter) - (Radio chatter) - He's running! I got a foot pursuit (unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) Get on the ground! You're about to get --! Get on the ground! On the ground now! Ground right now - On the ground! - On the ground! On the ground! Give us (unintelligible) - Please - Hand me on your back On the ground You listen to me man to man please 5-6-1-4 I was going to come back to you Yeah you looked right at me and ran - (Unintelligible) - Now it's second time You ran from a cop (Kenny unintelligible), man (Radio chatter) I feel like you guys are protecting I'm more scared of you guys Hold on one sec, man I'm trying to Get your cuff so they don't lock up on you - Where's my phone - Roll up for me, okay? Your phone? Yeah Alright, he's going to sit you up He's busting his -- running So I don't know if he's I'm going to come out, soon So you have some scratches on you? Is that from falling? Yeah That wasn't from them? Okay Do you need, uh medical attention? You wanna see if— I just want someone to hear me out - That's all I want dude - Okay we'll hear you out We'll talk to you man We're going to have a seat in the back of this car, okay We're going to talk to you in a second While we're doing that, do you need medical attention? Do you need anybody to check you out? - No - Okay One sec, okay? I'm going to read your Miranda rights real quick Then we can talk freely, okay? (Unintelligible) Do you understand? Has anyone threatened you or promised you anything to get you to talk to me? Okay So what do you want to say? My side (unintelligible) I can't hear you I said my side of the story I guess no one gives a -- she's a girl No, we're here to listen to both sides But right now we have what we had The accusations and the allegations And potential danger to everybody involved So now is your time to give us your side I understand what I did wrong, man, but What is it that you think you did wrong? Or what is it that happened that is wrong? I jumped over the desk I'll tell you everything straight up I jumped over the desk I was trying to get a card so I could get my -- I'm trying to get my baby She's trying to Cause I'm super nice I'm super nice to everybody, bro She's just like taking care Taking my baby from me When she knows I'm not doing nothing wrong I can't do -- about it So I explode I'm like, bro, I don't know what to -- do when everyone's going against me Like I just want my key so I can get my car and I can leave And they don't want to -- help me out So I gotta jump over the -- desk and threaten someone to get it And of course I look bad I understand that Okay Everyone's going against me, bro What the -- am I supposed to do? I hear you So - It's all right man - you know that jumping on a desk, making the threats against the lady behind the desk, that does make your case look a little worse, right? I asked her three times She wouldn't help me out I'm supposed to stand there and just wait for no one to help me? Well, at some point that's when you call us, right? I know that that's not your first instinct But you can't go breaking the laws and take things into your own hands, because then it escalates and that's when we get involved And that's when where we're at right now is the outcome Right? Okay So you want to tell me what happened leading up to all of that? (Radio chatter) She— She was leaving her room She would tend to just leave whenever And I asked her, where are you going? So I chased her down the hallway and I grabbed the, carriage from her She thought I was going to -- her For some reason, she's traumatized She thinks I'm going to -- her I never hit her I never do anything I understand where she's coming from So I take the baby seat away from her and she starts pulling away So I'm pushing at her arm She thinks I'm trying to hit her I'm like, bro, I keep telling everyone around us, I'm not trying to -- nobody I just want my kid and I want to leave I want my kid and I want to leave You can look at all the videos It's all the same the whole time - I just want my baby - Okay She's, like screaming out of her lungs, like, oh, he's trying to -- me and stuff I'm like, bro, I just want the -- baby The whole time, I'm just grabbing the baby And then some other guy comes in and he threatens to -- me because I'm trying to defend myself So we go outside, and he's like, yo, I got a -- I'm going to -- -- you if something happens And that's why I'm like, I think I'm going to have to run out of here I've got to take my -- baby I've got to go That's the only thing I'm thinking about Take my baby I've got to go I know it's not the best situation Either way, he's going to -- me, but That's the only way I can have my -- baby with me, bro That's what I'm going to do at the end of the day I'm a grown -- man I got you What would I do with a baby, bro? So the issue is, another issue, is when you go and try and snatch, or not snatch, uh, try and get your kid out of her hands, right? You start fighting over the baby, you're pulling on the carrier It starts turning into a little bit of neglect You're putting the kid into danger there, right? Understand you're trying to get your kid back because you're trying to do what's best in your mind for the kid, but you're still causing other issues with that So I understand she was telling us that she was also trying to leave with the kid Um The thing is, when it comes to parents, we're not in the business without a court order of taking custody and giving to the other, okay? I understand So the custody of the child in that moment wouldn't have been outside of something that you guys need to figure out on your own non-violently The issue is, it got escalated too violently when we started doing all the other stuff, right? Okay So We still have all the other issues that were created along the way I understand and I'm sympathetic towards, you're the father, you want what's best for your child, and you were just trying to This is dumb decisions, bro Well, at the end of the day, it's the decisions that get us where we are, right? So You want me to tell you exactly how this is probably going to happen? We're going to go to BRC, we're going to go to jail, we're going to get you booked, because while I might be sympathetic to your issues you still did break laws along the way And those laws, I mean, we got to take care of that And this is something that's got to be fixed I think that is the future, right? So, I'm sure what will happen after that is you'll have a court case and you can argue your side and they can decide where to go from there But right now we have what we have we have what everybody in there is saying, and we have the videos that were given to us So we have to proceed based on what we know right now, and everything else can come later with the courts and with lawyers and more of your side I understand that Thank you All right Anything else you want to say? Any other questions? No, sir All right Well, we got a little bit of a day She's okay (Unintelligible) Your baby's okay I think she's asleep right now Um We're going to be driving over to BRC here in just one second I'll just be right in front If you got anything you want to say, anything that you want to talk about, we'll be right there I wanna fasten his seatbelt um, real quick Also, I have your phone, your toothbrush, and your ID with me So Do you have anything else that you need, any other property? I was here the whole night I wasn't doing nothing Okay Um She came home Then you left the house, went in the shed? Pretty much All right? As far as it escalating downstairs and it came upstairs? Yeah, yeah It was only downstairs for like maybe 15 minutes And then his mom came down and that's when it came upstairs Okay Because his mom told me to come upstairs So that's what I was trying to do was come upstairs Okay And he got the illusion that I took money from him Because he pulled his wallet out of his back pants pocket and looks through it and goes, where's my money? Yeah, yeah It was only downstairs for like maybe 15 minutes And then his mom came down and that's when it came upstairs Because his mom told me to come upstairs So that's what I was trying to do was come upstairs And then he got the illusion that I took money from him because he pulled his wallet out of his back pants pocket and looks through it and goes, where's my money? We'd only been home for 15 minutes I don't know where that was And then he came upstairs -knocking stuff over -Yeah, pretty much Yeah, we got him to move off the stairs So I wrote, you know, just kind of like, you know (Unintelligible) Uh I'm going to go pass him up the stairs And I followed his mom And we were going to go outside, just have a cigarette, you know, because the kids were in the rooms And then he just followed us right up the stairs I'm not a violent person, man You know, if I was (Unintelligible) I'd be violent Trust me That means nothing to me Please It's Christmas I get it We're not trying to be the bad guys We're trying to figure out what's going on I You guys are the ones that called us I'm not trying to -- do anything crazy, man If I have to go somewhere else, that's fine I'm not Yeah, I mean, it looks like we'll probably go that route I just don't know what's going on inside I've been out here with you You know, there's two sides, you know? Number one, What— How can we help you? Because you keep calling our police department, over and over and over I want to talk to the -- chief What can I— Message can I give him? I did -- call me Okay What do you want to talk to him about? He just he— I'm, I'm his guy I come and solve his problems for him You don't automatically— Oh, you the boss? You don't automatically get linked up, to the boss I'm his middle guy I work for him, okay? So what can I do, as far as, relaying a message or something? First off, when you call the --, you know station up there, that little -- --, won't even -- give her name Okay Wha— What is, what is I pay for her Yeah, I agree That's taxpayer money And that's me also And I asked her name multiple times Okay And I kept trying to talk, to her, about calling the chief What's up, 4-8? Um Wha— What is it now? What, what, what are you needing from us? Get your foot off Okay, cool All right What do you want from us? Why do you call us, day after day, over and over and over and over and over? Because I want to talk to the chief About what? Anything I want to talk to him about, that's it Okay Well, here's how things, here's how the things go here Just because you want to talk to the chief, doesn't mean you're going to get to talk to chief, over and over and over I pay for him I'm his employee, okay? Yeah, well, I pay for the chief, right? You also pay for my salary Yeah, I don't want to talk to you Okay, well, I'm here to offer my assistance Stop lying to me man I don't want to talk to you because Okay Well, here's the thing Our dispatch center can't, continuously be, uh, bothered by phone calls, of no substance I mean, I understand that So, well, I'm going to let you know If she gives her name Officer Carlson wasn’t new to belligerent types — but Adam pushed harder, demanding rights while ignoring reality The officer held the line, stalling until backup moved in She doesn't have to give her name She does Okay She works for me Let's agree to disagree on that, Adam, okay? No, she works for me I'm required to give you my name My name's Officer Carlson Right I'm here to offer you whatever you need I mean, you look like a great guy I've been doing this a long, long time All right Never seen you before in Oxford, but I've heard your name I've never met you before I bet you will hear my name a lot more Why is that? Because I want to talk to the chief Okay Well, you know the whole saying You can want one hand, and you know what? --- in the other But that doesn't mean you're going to get what you want, Adam Right All right, so But you keep trying And, well, you can get yourself in trouble, if you keep trying That's what I'm getting That's what I'm alluding to here My dispatch center can't continue to be bothered by calls of no substance Now, your call is, over and over and over of the same substance You keep asking, talk to the chief, talk to the chief, talk to the chief Right Okay, what I'm going to tell you, though, is if you keep calling over and over and over, you could be arrested for that, okay? For what? It's misuse of a 911 system I'm, I'm, I'm calling on the private side Okay, but still, it's a dispatch center Yeah You take phone calls No, you don't - No, you, hold on - Some emergencies No, hold on Okay Uh? I've called that number before for dispatch, and all they do is transfer you to Butler County, so it's not a dispatch service Well, it kind of is No, it's not Okay, again, I'm not going to argue They won't send the cops out from that place, so it's not a dispatch service Well, they kind of do Get your facts right No, they do send us out No, they won't I've tried All right Um? Get your facts right first, boss You realize we're just here to help you You're not in trouble for anything I'm not in -- trouble - It's my -- rights - Okay Okay, well, I mean, I'm sure you're— We're done I just want to talk to the chief Not yet Adam, listen to me Listen to me Stay calm Get your foot out of my door I'm not going to move my foot yet I want you to listen to me Listen to me Listen to me We're about to have problems We're not going to have problems today, Adam If you don't get that foot back there— I'm going to keep the door open I'll leave the door open, but you get that foot away from there You're going to leave the door open to where it is? I will All right, cool Listen to me Um, have you been calling Kramer also? I'm trying to talk to the principal Okay, the SRO who works there, she wants to talk to you for a minute Okay, she's on her way here That's why I'm not letting you close the door because she— I'm not talking to her She has a message to deliver to you You don't have to engage with her Just let her talk I want to talk through this door Just let her talk to you, okay? Through this door Okay, just leave it open for right now She'll be here in just a second She's on her way here We've already called her I don't want her to come here for no reason All right? Are you certain there's nothing I can do to help you out today? What would I need help with? I don't know I don't know Your mom's a little bit certain about you, okay? She's a lunatic She ain't my mom She's not your mom? She gave birth to me, but she's not my mom She's your mom She gave birth to you She's your mother Whatever term you want to use— She didn't raise me Okay, you're bringing in another topic here I'm not talking about whether she raised you or not, but she is your mother She's your birth mother, right? She gave birth to you You got your foot a little bit too much All right, cool Hey, whatever makes you comfortable I'm not here to make you uncomfortable I'm here to assist you in any way I can Okay, but I do want to let you know, you can't just keep calling the school, and you can't keep— I called them twice today Once they hung up on me The second time— You just dropped your hand right there I burned it Okay Liquid lava out of the microwave What were you heating up? Sausage gravy and biscuits I thought you were going to say like a Hot Pocket or something - No, sausage gravy and biscuits - (Officer unintelligible) It's -- -- hot lava With Adam, patience was key Officers kept him talking just to keep him calm But when backup showed up, so did his defiance and his talk about rights came roaring back Yep That's pretty bad How long was it in there for? I just went to, I think, three minutes, - and then - Jesus you got to shake it up That's pretty bad, man Yeah, that -- tore me up I can see that Was it good after it cooled down? Yeah, me and Colt made it great Is that your son? Yeah Yeah, I've actually talked to him before I had somebody that ran— You bet I've talked to him before I've talked to your son here before He said somebody was— Yeah, that was me Walking around, some woman Yeah Yeah She shoplifted at Walmart, and she was standing right by your fence as I was coming down the road here She took off running, and she started knocking on doors trying to get somebody unlocked And your son did the right thing He had the door locked He didn't answer it for her Yeah he help me But he saw me, and he answered the door He's 11 years old I told him you did the right thing He knows his rights Playing video games, right? I told him, uh— He's got a PS5 I said, don't unlock the door for strangers You unlock it when you see a cop, Well, I'm going back to bed So, nice to meet you Can you talk- My SR just pulled up She's right here Listen I don't like this Adam, listen You don't need to engage with her Let her talk I don't -- like this -- Just let her talk at you This is actually Sergeant So, you're getting a step closer to the Chief Yeah This is Josh [audio redacted] He's our Sergeant He's our Patrol Sergeant What's going on, Mr. [audio redacted] Nothing Well, something No Because, uh our Chief's been uh— You've reached out to our Chief on a number of occasions Yeah Our Secretary - Yeah, why won't she give her name? - The dispatch— Who? Who? The woman that answered the phone Secretaries Is it a secretary or a dispatcher? I don't know When you call the (unintelligible) 9-1-1 number, who is it? It could be a myriad of them We have several dispatchers, but Why would any of them not answer or, or, or tell me their name? I'm not sure what you mean, like Did you ask for their name? I have no idea I'm just coming in on this And then you've been blowing the school up and threatening the principal -I didn't threaten the principal -Threatening the principal Nothing about put your big boy pants on, I'm coming for you Nothing Put your big boy pants on, I'm going to have a conversation with you That doesn't make any sense Yeah, he hung up on me yesterday Why? Why would he do that? He didn't like the way I talked How were you talking? However I want It's freedom of speech What is so you get to the threatening part? I've never threatened anybody in my life, sir I can tell you categorically that's not true because I've watched a body cam video where you've threatened officers at your door before I told them to get out of my door Did I threaten you, sir? No, I didn't say today You said we were about to have problems a minute ago and I wasn't coming out of your door Yeah, but I mean, that's my right though, right? You have to understand how you're, what you're saying You can't have your foot in my door Okay You got to think about delivery though When you say things to people Yeah, well, I mean, if you keep coming in here, we're going to have problems I mean, I'm not under arrest You said that So You're approaching on me, right? Well, and , and I honored your request And you did not I stepped outside Okay I'm concerned about your health I asked you about him Biscuits and gravy out of the microwave I've addressed what I've seen to make sure you're all right I'm done with this What do you guys want? Well, like I said, you can't keep calling, okay? Where my son's at, I can call all day Well, like I said, we'll have to agree to disagree on that Well, I mean, we'll have to take it to court He hid behind the First Amendment — using it to excuse his tirades and blow off every police warning as hearsay We don't need to go that far We're here to offer you assistance right now (unintelligible) For assistance, for what? What do I need assistance with? What do you think I need assistance with? I don't know you, Adam But I have your mom out here that's concerned about you Okay? I told you that's not my mom Okay, what do you want me to call her then? Anita Okay, Anita's concerned about you And Anita knows you, right? She don't -- know me All right, well, maybe I'm getting just a bunch of misinformation And maybe you're the one that's correct on all this stuff, okay? I think I am I've never met you until today, okay? Well, it's good to meet you I'm Adam All right, very well Adam, I'm asking you man-to-man Can I do anything for you today to help you? No Okay, can you do me a favor? Can you at least, like I said, listen to my SRO? You don't have to engage with her Just let her talk at you, okay? She should be here in a minute That's all we're going to do Doesn't have to be a dialogue Who's the SRO? Her name is Shelly Sikora She works at (unintelligible) Elementary And that's why I was calling the chief about her Okay, so the Okay, so I'm finally getting the substance of what you want to talk to my chief about You haven't told me yet So it's about the SRO? -Yeah -That's fine And what I can do instead, I can put you in contact with her direct supervisor No, I want to talk to the -- chief Well, you know what? If you tell the chief something, he's gonna tell the supervisor to handle it And I'm going to give you straight to that supervisor I'm going to make sure it's handled because I'm talking to the chief I'll go get a shirt on Fine Adam, we've been man-to-man the entire time, right? Right All right So I have something I got to tell you You probably not going to want to hear it, all right? But this is how it's going to happen Whatever was going on with you and the school, they have a charge for you A charge for what? Like menacing, like whatever that threat was I didn't threaten nobody I'm, I didn't listen to the phone call -I don't know the message -Who listened to the phone call? Okay, so what has to happen? Okay, we have to take you up to our station and do a little processing, all right? Like, you know, like you say on TV Who listened to the phone call? We don't have to listen to the phone call We have a written statement from the principal And you get the right to face your accuser in court You see on TV where we take like a picture of you and your fingerprints that kind of stuff It's called the booking process We need you to go up to our station I'm not But It's not optional And we're not going to fight today Let's not do this, okay? Just cooperate with me if you would All right It's just a simple car ride up to station And all you You bringing me back? I'll bring you back, yeah Why wouldn't I? I don't -- people out the door and make them walk That's -- I treat people the way I want to be treated I want to know what it's for Telecommunications harassment It means you make You can't telecommunication harass Where your son is at If you make, if you make a statement, that's threatening, then yes No, I never made a statement that was threatening Well, like I said, we can agree, disagree I'm innocent until proven guilty That's what courts is for Okay, well bring me my citation Well, we're gonna do it up at our station No, I'm not Adam, you're gonna come with us No, I'm not Okay You're gonna finish your cigarette, and you're gonna come get in my car, willingly, cause we're not, we're not doing this today, all right? I ain't got no handcuffs to put on me Okay, well, that needs to happen Anybody who gets transported, gets handcuffed No, I can't get out of that car if you have a wreck I'll make sure you get out of the car One of these guys will follow us, - If you're --, - and we'll get you out of the car how you gonna make sure, I get out of the -- car? Look, the fastest I'm gonna drive, is 35 mile an hour at this station It don't matter It ain't gonna happen Okay, so listen to me No matter how you, choose to do, to do this, you're eventually gonna be up at my station and getting, a citation for telecommunication harassment If you're not gonna be cooperative For what kind? Yep If you're not gonna be cooperative So I can't call my school? Listen to me, listen to me, Adam If you're not gonna be cooperative and you fight us, you'll be going to jail today, and you'll be getting a lot more charges, and you're making, a, um, a molehill into, you know what I'm saying, a wholesale An ant into a molehill (Unintelligible) An ant into a molehill Yeah, whatever it is Molehill into a mountain Yeah I'm not good with that That's not the saying, it's an ant hill, into a molehill Right Depends on where you're from I guess So we're cool to go do this, so we don't make that mountain? I'm not good with euphemisms After a few laughs, Adam went quietly But at the station, the power trip returned — until officers reminded him that his actions were putting his son’s welfare at risk And I'm using I'm gonna get dressed first I'm gonna let you know of your rights, okay? (unintelligible) sir one, you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used, in a court of law against you That you have the right to consult with a lawyer before or during any question To have a lawyer present with you, while you're being questioned Read that last part so I can understand it That you have the right to consult, with a lawyer before or during any question To have a lawyer present with you, while you're being questioned If you— That if you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to you free, before any questioning And that you may stop talking to me, or any other police officer any time Got it? Would you like to sign this saying, I read this to you? No Okay, you don't have to Well, I mean you're— So you said it was a voicemail, that you left him that you threatened him, not a, phone call? I didn't threaten him at all Okay All right Did you say anything about putting, his big boy pants on? I'll take that as a yes We haven't Did I answer? No, but we had the conversation to— So So What did I tell you yesterday? So putting your big boy pants on is threatening? So you did say that? Did I say I did? Okay Let me tell you Yesterday, I warned you how many times Hey, put your big boy pants on Is that threatening to you? You're talking with her right now I'm talking to you right now I'm not gonna get involved in the situation, cause I'm not the charging officer But is it threatening to you? It's not about my perspective This is a -- joke We talked about how your delivery and, when you talk to somebody, can be threatening, right? Due to your erratic behavior, and your conversations with staff, at the school, including Mr. Merz I tried to warn you yesterday You wouldn't listen I told you to take a nap You did take a nap You sounded better But you still continued to do, what you weren't supposed to I'm sticking up for my kid Colton is upset with you He's not upset with me Okay I sat there and talked to him this morning Okay Hugs and kisses, love yous and nothing else You're embarrassing me Yeah, because you guys won't straighten up at school Okay I told Colton that you love him very much, and you're trying to do the best that you can But you're just not doing that That's an under -- statement You know I think you love him to -- If it was your life and his life, and all of your other -- lives here, (Unintelligible) he's mine I know And he's a good kid Quit talking about my son I said he's a good kid Quit talking about him You want me to tell you about the conversation? He's my baby I know We're talking, about it Okay (Officer unintelligible) If you want, to know anything about him, I will end this If you want another conversation, I'll tell you But I think he's a great kid He's awesome He loves you to --, and he wants you He knows about you calling me you're sending me to --- jail But Adam, I tried to talk to you yesterday How many times? I did nothing -- wrong What did I tell you? I did nothing -- wrong What did I tell you? I did nothing -- wrong Did you— I'm allowed to call the school Are you allowed to talk the way you were? It's freedom of speech Okay Right or wrong? You cannot cuss out the staff Is that not part of my first amendment? The school did— Is it part of my first amendment? Yes, you have freedom of speech Right Not to threaten somebody I've never threatened nobody Okay You cannot use vulgar language You cannot contain— That's freedom of speech Okay The school told me— You're arresting me for no -- reason The school told you— What did I tell you? Not to call back and Mr Merz knew that you called Then Mr. Merz gets on the phone, and he has it on speaker phone, so we all heard You start cussing Mr. Merz out When he finally gets on the phone Yeah, he needs an -- chewing - (Radio chatter) - Okay 8-5-0-3-4 Eventually, the weight of the events caught up with him his son saw through the noise The once defiant father cracked, realizing too late he'd picked the wrong battles for all the wrong reasons And how did that work out for you? Well, he hung up Okay And he's put his big boy britches on me Okay I'm telling you I told your son, and I will tell you this I know you love him And you would do anything you could possibly do for him But there's proper ways to handle things This is my way I know Well, did you not teach him to be respectful? You're the one that taught him this stuff You -- with me You -- with him You've got to deal with me And he knows that He knows you have his back You better bet And you've done a decent job But Colton wouldn't be as good as he is, right? He ain't got no mom So I must have done something right Exactly There's no parent guidebook And I understand this I've made mistakes raising my kids I did nothing wrong Okay, but when you speak to the school The school said I had freedom of speech, ma'am Okay, I am advising you The school will be sending you a letter in the mail Okay? That when you call, you're to only call Dr. Thurow Or— I've had it out with him I have no doubt And Mr. Merz, we're giving you a direct line to call him So the staff And you don't have to have any conflicts Okay? Good That way we don't have these problems again Good And that's what I wanted to talk to you yesterday And you wouldn't listen You were too mad and— - Don't -- with my son - Like you said And I want to talk to him About the movie and stuff And see what the deal was This is right It's freedom of speech I just talking to— Let's go to jail so I can get out We've got government paperwork And you know how the government is Takes forever It takes forever Oh, my -- hell Did you get a hold of your boss? One time is school— Mom think— Your mom is not here to help you out You have to come up with something You've got to have a friend or somebody (unintelligible) Or This all may be for nothing Because the jail might just -- you out the door You'll never know It all depends on crowding and— You guys call them before that Before I go down there That's their decision when you get there No you guys— You usually call them We about to arrange (unintelligible) We already called him They said they're not taking him It's just whether or not once you get down there They decide to keep you or not You might let— You might -- him back up Or -- him back to Oxford Yeah three misdemeanor How -- the hell am I going to -- him back to Oxford?
