I'm shook up Okay I took it all on the left side I've got some pain here Okay Pain in my shoulder My ear is ringing from the bag deploying It -- me in the ear I'm just, I think part of it is being shaken up No, I feel you (Unintelligible) She -- me pretty good too Were you going this direction? Or you just saw when she started to roll? If I saw it, it would have been the very, very last second (Unintelligible) So basically what you saw was her going into the pond And then you basically just went and helped her out That's right Was she the only person in the car when you made contact? Yep Okay Where was she at in the vehicle? Uh Well, we pulled her out of the back window because that was the one still up above waterline Okay All right And did she say anything to you when you made contact with her? Just very disoriented and crying Don't tell anybody and Think everyone's going to see your car (unintelligible) So that was pretty much it Okay She didn't say anything specific about the crash? Like how it happened or anything like that? Sounds good I appreciate your help Thank you Try to enjoy the rest of your day Give it a -- Sorry you're not making it to the driving range If possible, I don't know if she's got, she's on medication I got close to her, I don't smell anything, but her speech is real Real slurred and like slow Okay So (Officer unintelligible) Okay What's that? Absolutely, yeah, I'm gonna get the tag here I got records coming too, so It sounds like There's something Yeah You know, I'll just, wheel off on the side of the pond Yeah So (Officer unintelligible) He's pretty good with that Okay It's kind of one of his forte's, okay? Gotcha Okay Yeah, she's (Unintelligible) Uh Earl— Early 30s? What happened? She basically just swerved into his lane They were going opposite direction And he's actually She's just swerving my lane I swerved to try to miss her, but, I still -- her And then I just She came into the pond, So she's the one upside down Yeah, she is Huh! All right (Officer unintelligible) So, let me know if you want me to - look at her - Okay I appreciate you Supervisor (officer unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) I know that's why I was following Bud to get here (Unintelligible) Luckily it's not I think, (unintelligible) Just have to knock out one of the windows and, take a look around (Officer unintelligible) Yeah, hold on (Officer unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) Yeah When you already get there, what happened? No, I got on the The couple with the blue shirt and the hat They were walking and they saw it Um This is um There's a Christian guy, I guess at the Golf club, that break, her back window and pull her out of the car And then, I think Yeah I think money's gonna take it from us cause she might be single one We're gonna take it Yeah, I travelled actually, I tell you Sounds like Sorry, if you don't mind (Officer unintelligible) Okay (Officer unintelligible) All right (Officer unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) That's all Oh you did? (Officer unintelligible) Let me go check up and see if they're going to or not (Officer unintelligible) out of the car Yeah Does she want to get transported? I think she said, no, they were still talking to her Oh, well, she's not Great Better for us You think she's ETOH? Uh It's hard to tell man She's, she's slurring bad, but I got close this far from her I don't smell anything Okay So Well, she doesn't like a transport then, we won't transport - Yeah - Yeah (Unintelligible) Yeah (unintelligible) conference (radio chatter) Good, how are you? What's up, man? 10-4 Um (Unintelligible) (unintelligible) both witnesses, they were walking I got their info, so 10-26 I don’t know if that’s what you’re referring or not Yeah No, I... We just got here It's almost That car is coming, oncoming, um, like eastbound, The one in the water? Yeah, that one And then this one's going straight, um, Westbound, and I guess, she came over, like just veered off into his lane and they hit each other and she spun out So there Probably texting We just help pull her out Yeah we just want to know if you guys need anything out of us We didn't see who hit who (Unintelligible) Okay (Officer unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) Okay Uh... Yeah Is she refusing? She doesn't want to go to a hospital So she signed uh, refusal I just need someone to witness this Okay It doesn't look good when I sign it That's fine (Officer unintelligible) Yeah Last name? You go by Gabby or? Gabby Gabby? Okay Give us one second We're gonna have a deputy come talk to you Okay? Stay here Sit tight right here (Unintelligible) (Radio chatter) 10-4 (Officer unintelligible) (Unintelligible) Um So (Woman unintelligible) Where's the other guy? Is he? (Unintelligible) He's down that way somewher Okay I was involved in the accident I just witnessed Yeah, we're aware Did you witness it? Yes, sir On the other side of the bridge? Yes, sir Can you pull over for one second? Yes, sir They witness the Duvall crash Water? What's that? Do you have water? I don't But I can maybe find someone that does If you'll just give me one second I'm sure someone's gotta have some Um I wanted to say thank you You pulled my wife over earlier You gave her a warning, so Yeah I'm sure, I think he's in that He thought— Is it the one that, came to the back of rescue, and was talking to you No, no Uh Oh, the other one? Yeah, like the other guy He actually just left He might have just left Yeah I think she said she was on an unmarked car Yeah Um She called me She's like I'm getting pulled over and I can't find my insurance card anywhere And, I was like, well we have insurance Yeah She goes is it State Farm? I was like, no Farm Bureau - Of course, I’m asking Yeah, yeah Yeah I was like, maybe you didn't clean your car so often We have 18 of them sitting in there All right Y'all have a good day All right, we appreciate you Stay with officer Taylor Hey Gabby, I'm gonna walk you down here with this definitely we'll, least get you to have a seat or something you can kind of relax, okay? Yes, sir What's going on? Oh, okay I'm just gonna have you stand by your car for a minute, okay? You can just hang tight right here, by this white car These deputies will take great care of you All right, and I'll be right back Stop and sign (unintelligible) sneak up on you That's okay You need my driver's license? Yes, please So what exactly did you see? I was literally at the red light and saw the whole thing The little black car, like, popped into the lane Okay And I just, of course, said, oh my god, what are they doing? And then I saw the red car swerve to miss the black one And she hit the concrete telephone pole Can you describe to me where you were at? I was on Julington Creek Road, west Okay Pointing west to turn left to go south on San Jose Boulevard Okay And I was at the light Where were they at in relation to you? Okay, they were heading south, right in front of the light Uh? On San Jose? On San Jose Okay And according to the guy at the other wreck, she hit him and swerved out of the lane to miss, to leave the scene Okay And then what I saw was her, you know, jumping in the lane trying to get out of there They were going very fast Did you see where she went after that? She just kept going south Just kept going south Yeah, at a high rate of speed Now, when you say south, just to clarify, are you talking into Duval or are you talking into St. John?— St. John's County Um? So she basically leaves from there, heads south, comes into St. Johns County Did you see her at all? Did you see the driver at all? No Okay I mean, all I could tell you is they had blonde hair, I think Okay Um, And how would you describe what that vehicle looked like? The black car? Yeah It was like one of those little Civics, black Okay Kind of oldest Okay And then after that vehicle leaves, do you see that vehicle again at all or was that the end of your interaction with that vehicle? That was the black car Okay Until I cleaned my best friend's house and I was on the way to her house to clean And I saw this and I was like, oh my God, that looks like the car that -- that lady And the car that you saw, did you get the tag off of it by any chance? They have it at the other scene Okay But did you physically see it? No Okay Did you see if the vehicle had any bumper stickers on it or anything that really stuck out to you? No It was just one of those little black... cars Okay And if you saw the driver again, would you recognize her? Probably not Okay Did you tell if anyone else was inside the vehicle? No, sir I could not Um, all right Are you in a hurry or are you able to hang out for a minute? I can call Yeah, I'm not in a hurry Okay So obviously that occurred in Duval County We're in contact with JSO right now to let them know that this is all going on and that you possibly witnessed what's going on over there Mm-hmm So we're just calling to see if they want to come talk to you real quick If they say no, I'll cut you out of here and just take your information Okay Okay? That's fine So there's that And just give me one second I actually have an answer for you momentarily - Okay - Okay? Take your time All right I appreciate it Thank you Thank you You can just hang tight right here by this white car These deputies will take great care of you All right? I'll be right back - Thank you so much - Okay We'll do that (Officer unintelligible) You can sit on the ground if you want I'm okay Okay Okay You work? I do Where do you work? I work at Baptist House Okay, what— As an CNA What do you do over there? Just walk in the grass so you don't get -- Thanks Hey, is it Michael? I'm Deputy Money Hi, Deputy Money So I spoke briefly with my sergeant He was trying to tell me what happened But tell me in your own words what happened Well, I was, driving, going to see a friend Okay And I saw her cross the yellows Okay And I'm honking And then I tried to get off, and she just kept coming Like, she kept on, you know, maybe - diagonal all the way through to me - yeah Okay Caught me in the back end, - spun me around - Okay And I ended up here Okay So let me tell you, I'm going to come down You don't have to come down here I don't want you falling in - Yeah, no I almost slip once - I'm just going - (Man unintelligible) - I'm just going to take a peek here Okay All right Well, you're not -- That's all that matters - Yeah I just have bruises - We can replace cars Okay Is she okay? Um, she's fine, I think We've got some other stuff we're dealing with her, but But as far as injuries go, yes, she's fine, but— - I honked the horn at her, - Um? and it's like it was nothing Yeah And I tried, but she was going so fast Yeah There was no I Usually, I figured, okay, maybe you're doing something else I honked the horn - Maybe she pulls back - Yeah She just came right across Not slowing down or anything So she hit you in the back right there, and that spun you around, and then she kept going I tried to speed up a little bit when I saw her, and I'm glad I did Because if I didn't speed up, she would have probably - hit me in the driver's side - Head on yeah Or head on, yeah I was afraid she was going to hit me head on initially So what we've got is we've got a tow truck coming - Okay - We've called wreckers for both vehicles They'll pull that one out of the pond They'll get yours hooked up Can they send it? Can they take it right, like? We're right over here in San Jose Yeah, you can talk to them, - okay - and they'll do whatever you guys need to do Um, I'm pretty sure they'll do that for you Um, it's Harry's Towing - Okay - So we use them a lot They're really good So I'll get you a tow sheet that has all their information - Thanks, thank you, and - on it when they get here Did I give you my license? I've got it Okay, good I don't want to leave without it No, no, you're good I'm going to give it back to you in just a minute, but And do you guys have a ride out of here? Okay Perfect Okay And I've got both the tow sheets done, So all that's good - Um - All right, sweet And then, yeah, she already told me that she was in the lane over here and ran into him She was driving too fast She said she ran into him and wouldn't call Okay, so is this confirmed on signal 3, so to speak? Ah, it's, sounds like possible, but they're still trying to confirm - Um, - Okay if it is or not So I guess the witness said she was driving signal 12 up in Jacksonville Okay And followed her down here and then Oh, so the witness followed her all the way over here? There's a witness here from Jacksonville, so I guess whatever happened in Jacksonville, but So she was in the... She was in rescue - um? - Okay Speech is real slurred I got close to her to talk to her, and... I didn't smell anything strong, but it's, I mean, she's You can tell she's impaired? Yeah, it could be medication She said she's on medication for bipolar and some other stuff, so I don't know - Something's messing with her - Okay Yeah Okay She got something going on You guys on mute? I'm not (Officer unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) What's up, Mr. Carter? What's up, man? Good morning Afternoon What's up? Good You? All right How you doing? Hello, ma'am Do you guys have our ID? I do not have it Oh, it's in there Okay Um All right So 10-4 Um? (Radio chatter) Carter here just finished up the traffic, and so now we're going to be conducting a DUI investigation Um? So with that being said, we're going to be doing what they call switching up the hats, okay? So I want to read you something first and then I'm going to ask you some questions, okay? Now, you have the right to remain silent Anything you say can be used against you in court You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before you ask any questions and have him with you during questioning If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you before any questioning, if you wish If you decide to answer questions without a lawyer present, you will still have the right to stop answering at any time You also have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer With these rights being read to you, do you understand them? Yes And with that being said, would you be willing to speak to me? Um No, sir Okay But I will do the sobriety test Okay, so you would be willing to do the sobriety test? Okay So you're not going to answer any questions for me? Okay All right, let's step over here I'm going to have you do some exercises and then we'll go from there Do you want to do it over here in front of your car? Yep Over here This black car right here All right If you want I can (unintelligible) Uh Yeah, hold on Stop, stop, stop, stop Okay, so I'm going to use this yellow line Actually, let's use this white line All right, so stop right here, okay? All right, so do me a favor Go ahead and put both your feet together Put your hands down to your side Stay in this position until I tell you to move You understand that? Okay, let me ask you a question Do you Hold on one second Just hold on one second (Unintelligible) Band-Aid Yeah, yeah, they'll give you a Band-Aid It's not broken, is it? No uh Okay No Okay Does she live over this way? I haven't asked her (Gabrielle unintelligible) Where's that? (Unintelligible) Back that way Okay Um To the left Gotcha What's that? They're good to go Okay All right, so stay in this position So, um, let me ask you a question Do you have any issues with your eyes? Do you wear contacts, glasses, or anything? So you have no issues with your eyes, okay All right, so what this right here is called uh, HGN test I just want to check the equal movement of your eyes So what I'm going to need you to do, Um the you're going to follow this pen, tip of this pen, okay? And what you're going to do is you're going to follow this tip of this pen with your eyes and your eyes only, okay? You're not going to move your head You're not going to move any other part of your body, only your eyes, okay? So, one, when I, all I want you to do is track this pen, okay? So go ahead and stare here Here This is where we're standing All right Don't move your head All right Keep following that Stay in this position All right, relax your eyes So, the next uh, exercise that we're going to perform is what they call the one leg stand, okay? So I'm going to demonstrate it to you first, um, and then I'm going to have you do it after, okay? But what I want you to do is stay in that position there, okay? Don't move out of that position So first thing you're going to do, starting from this position, you're going to put your right foot in front of your left foot, all right? And once you put your right foot in front of your left foot, nope, stay in that position that I told you You don't move until I tell you to move, okay? All right, so what you're going to do is you're going to put your right foot in front of your left foot, and what you're going to do is you're going to count aloud One, two, three, stay where you are, four, okay? When you get to the count of nine, I want you to take small steps, turning back around, completing another nine heel-to-toe steps back the opposite way, okay? Now during this exercise, make sure that you're saying it out loud so that we can all hear you, okay? Do you understand those instructions? Yes, sir Okay, all right? So put your right foot in front of your left, and then go ahead and begin One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine One Two Three Four Five Six All right Now let me ask you a question Do you have any issues with your legs? Do you, have you had any surgeries or? Medication, you said? For what, are you taking medication for your legs? Not my legs Okay, but you have no issues with your legs, okay? No, sir All right, so the next exercise, um, what we're going to do is, nope, nope, nope, stay in that position Keep your hands by your side, keep your feet together, okay? The next exercise is called the one-leg stand, okay? What you're going to do is you're going to raise your foot about six inches off the ground, keeping your toe facing forward While staring at your toe, you're going to count one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand, three-one-thousand until I tell you to stop, okay? Um I want you to count aloud I want to be able to hear it, all right? Um Don't stop If you happen to put your foot down, don't um, pick your foot back up and continue the exercise, okay? Um Do you understand those instructions? No, no, no, I didn't tell you to begin yet Okay Okay, begin One-one-thousand, two-one-thousand, three-one-thousand, four-one-thousand, five-one-thousand, six-one-thousand, seven-one-thousand, eight-one-thousand, nine-one-thousand, ten-one-thousand, eleven-one-thousand, twelve-one-thousand, thirteen-one-thousand, fourteen-one-thousand, uh, fifteen-one-thousand, sixteen-one-thousand, seventeen-one-thousand, eighteen-one-thousand, nineteen-one-thousand, twenty-one-thousand, twenty-one-one-thousand, twenty-two-one-thousand, twenty-three-one-thousand, twenty-four-one-thousand, twenty-five-one-thousand, twenty-six-one-thousand, twenty-seven-one-thousand, twenty-eight-one-thousand, twenty-nine-one-thousand, thirty (unintelligible) Okay you can stop Alright All right, so one last exercise Turn around, I want you to look up in the air All right, close your eyes No, no Close your eyes Look up in the air, close your eyes And count until I tell you to stop, okay? Okay So, you didn't do too well on those exercises, okay? So, you're gonna be under arrest for, driving while, under the influence, okay? Uh-huh You understand that? Yes, sir Okay Um (Officer unintelligible) (Officer unintelligible) I'm gonna just pat you down real quick, make sure you don't have anything on you, okay? (Radio chatter) All right, have a seat in my back seat Put your -- in first, yeah? Thank you Yes, ma'am I'm sorry I'm so sorry, sir Is that her sweater? Yes Is it? It's so cool You can keep it in the car We can put it in the car I don't have no reason to bring it Yeah, we can just leave it here Yeah, put it in the back Yeah, (officer unintelligible) Yeah Yeah I am now requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath, for the purposes of, the purpose of determining, its, its alcohol content Will you be willing to submit to that test? Can you give me an answer? No, sir Okay So, I'm gonna read this to you one more time so we have a really good understanding, okay? If you refuse to take the test, I have requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended, for a period of one year, for a first refusal, or 18 months, if your driving privilege has previously been suspended, or if you have previously been fined under, Statute 3-27.3-5-2-1-5 for refusing to submit to a lawful test of your breath, --, or -- Additionally, if you refuse to take the test I have requested of you, and if your driving privilege has been, previously suspended, or if you have been previously fined under, Statute 327.35215 for refusing to submit to a lawful test of your breath, -- or --, you will be committing a misdemeanor, in addition to any other penalties, which can be imposed by law Refusing to submit to the test, I have requested, is admissible into evidence in any criminal proceeding Do you still refuse to submit to the test? Um, refusing is a misdemeanor? Correct And, agreeing is... Agreeing? Yeah What are you asking? Just depends on what I, like, will Like, if I do it, it just depends on what I blow Yeah, so you, I, I, I'm You— I'm asking you this to see, what your alcohol content is in your breath Okay So you're refusing? Yes, sir Okay Sorry Yes Gabrielle was booked into the St. Johns County Jail on three counts, including DUI with property damage She posted bail and was released pending a court hearing On July 31st, 2024, she pleaded no contest to one count and was sentenced to probation, a license suspension, community service, and fines Maybe after this, she’ll avoid the crash — and the splash Gabrielle tanked the field test and ended up on probation Was justice served — or just soaked? No Okay I'm going to -- right here A very slow and painful -- That will make me sick Okay Option is we can take you to jail, for disorderly conduct or I can take you home It's okay You can take me to jail for disorderly conduct I'm -- right here I'll -- in your cell Why are you being like this? What do you mean? I'm having an allergic reaction You got seen I didn't But you did You were with nursing staff, correct? No, I have not been seen I have not been discharged I'm just sitting here in the hospital You haven't been You haven't been discharged and you're, and they told you to leave I have not been discharged I have not signed any paperwork Not been discharged Let's go Let's go up to my vehicle Sure Okay Do you have any -- on you purse? I do not have any -- Nothing like that, okay That's it Okay Um All right We'll walk up to my vehicle What I'm going to do is, I'm going to get you in uh, the heat so you're not cold out here Okay? I'm going to sit you in the back I'll call my supervisor, see if we can get you a ride But let's do a hospital to your house Okay? I don't wanna go to a hospital You said hospital? Hospital Okay Just stay right there As far as your belongings, just because I don't know what's on you, and I'm a male, so I don't want to search you I have a vape and I have -- That's it Okay, are you okay - Yeah - Are you okay with your property - Yeah it's fine - being put in the front seat and then? Um, uh? - No you're good - Yep, I'm just watching but just... and that's all it's on you Okay Beside my jewelry Okay, okay, Um, so I'm gonna put you in the back real quick if that works for you, um? (Mikayla unintelligible) Um, that just unbuckles it just makes it easier if you want to release it that's fine too Okay, yeah, just push and then Um if you want to clip buckle yourself in that's fine Um before I transport you're gonna have to anyway, so I'm gonna put your stuff in the front I'm gonna make a call to my supervisor I'm gonna put the heat on for you, okay? Okay, thank you Um, are you are you um? Do you— Are you in need of any psychological help or anything like that? Is that something that's going on that you think? Okay, I just wanna make sure - No I'm all set - Okay I gotta call Graz quick I'm gonna see what I'm gonna do with her first Oh, you see, yeah, I used to be Toledo, but All right, I turned the air up for you I just gotta make a phone call real quick to my supervisor and make sure, we either take you to another hospital or, um? I'm gonna come around and talk to you real quick too to see what your uh medical condition to see what, we can do as far as that, okay? Yep, Um, just so I can articulate to my supervisor what exactly was— So I have a possible multiple stress fractures, in my right ankle and I have a tattoo that I'm reacting to that they refused to treat me - Tattoo, okay I'm having a allergic reaction Okay, okay, um? So you said there's a foreign body in you? There's a foreign body in my arm, yes Okay, that's reacting? - It was reacting - Okay - and I also have a broken ankle - Okay And then you said that they were not seeing you? They were not seeing me because of my attitude, yes Okay Do you recognize that? I recognize that I have a severe attitude, but it was after hours and hours of waiting Hours and hours? How long approximately? 24 hours Okay, I, I understand it and there like And I understand exactly what I did which is why I got into your car Okay, I got you I just, I don't, I don't honestly like I care about people, I do I don't want to take you to jail as little as possible I will go to jail if that's what I need to do But you don't need to, like we can try to, I understand you're in a medical like medical situation you want to go And if you have a preference where would you want to go? From Medical Toledo Hospital? Echo Junction What's that? Echo Junction and Perrysburg is preferably where I would like to go, but they don't treat me either I don't know where to go I have EDS and nobody is willing to treat me but this hospital and they've refused In Toledo, you've tried Toledo before? I've tried Toledo, I've tried St. Charles, I've tried St Vincent's, every other hospital in this area They won't treat you? Besides this one and they will not treat me - I've never been here - Okay and they're willing to treat me and now I am not getting treatment Okay All because I've waited and my attitude has been an issue and now I'm having a foreign body origin reaction and I'm in pain and my attitude is getting worse Okay I'm no longer being nice anymore I understand Let me work with my supervisor, let's see where we can take you Um? You said Echo Junction? Like I said, they can't treat me though They can't treat you? Okay I've already been told by three hospitals that I cannot be treated and I've been told by two that legally I cannot be treated and that's this one in St. Charles No, I get it Okay, I'm gonna shut the door so you don't get You're good, sir Okay, gotcha Hey, sir I've got a very odd situation Um? So UTMC is apparently the only place that can treat this symptom that she's having EDS It's a chronic condition apparently Um, it's something to do with a tattoo Um, she's got a tattoo and she's having an allergic reaction to it She does have a right ankle fracture that she has a cast on or one of those boots on for She has tried, um? There's a hospital in Perrysburg, I can't— It's something with it I can't think of it She just said it She's tried all the area hospitals, St. Charles, so the hospital will not treat her She's getting frustrated here because, she's been here for three to four hours and she's not getting any care whatsoever And this is the only hospital apparently that will do it She has recognized that her attitude has, been the issue I did walk out to run her and then she became I didn't hear what was going on with the radio because I was on records, but apparently she was making a scene in there, but she didn't get physical Um, I offered to take her home, which is in, um? I wasn't going to call you to make sure I said I'd call my supervisor to make sure, but it's in Oregon Um? I just, I don't Yeah, she said she will go to jail Yeah, that's what she was saying She said she would go to jail If that's what it took to get seen by... medical, but she wants to go to a different hospital, but this is the only one that apparently treats her in the area Hi, she's in my car, current So she was getting that way Um, not towards me, but when I came outside, apparently she was making a scene as far as getting angry about not being seen Uh? Okay, um? She's— She doesn't Her phone is -- Um, she doesn't have, anybody that can come pick her up Um, the only option, I guess, I would... say, it's disorderly conduct take her to jail, but And that's something that she said she was fine with doing as long as she could get medical help That's I'm— Yeah, that's I'm like, I don't know what, um? Okay, um? So ED wants her to leave, so I don't As far as her being my vehicle, I'm not sure what Beyond Okay I got you All right, sir Thank you All right So we are not a cab service That's what his direction was Medically, if they were able to see you, Um? I'm going to go talk to them and see what we can do You're not going to transport me out of state I'm going to have to go to Michigan What's that? I'm going to have to go to Michigan There's nowhere else in Ohio that— They will not treat you here? They will not treat me here That's what they keep saying I will have to go to Michigan I will medically have to go to Michigan if you guys will not treat me in my state You will have to medically transport me to the University of Michigan if you will not transport me in If you will not treat me - for the University of Toledo, - Okay you will have to take me to the University of Michigan Medical Center Okay So hear me out You will have to be medically trained Can you hear me out? I'm trying to work with you, okay? I understand you're going through some stuff I get it, like So I'm going to talk to them inside and see what the issue is and see if that— It they will see you And if that's the case, I don't know if we'll have to stand by because of what's been happening Um, You would have to stand by, probably What's that? You probably would have to stand by— Yeah, I'm alone over here But yeah, so I'm going to see what's going to happen with that -We cannot transport -I just have to, I just have to use the restroom as well Okay, um I can, I can wait, but I do have to use the restroom Okay, um, I'm going to go in there and talk to them and see what they're willing to do If they're not willing to do anything, I can't transport you, we can't pay for a cab My insurance would have to pay for the EMS ticket, I know Okay, um, okay Which is fine I'm going to pull up there, so that way you're in view, and I'm going to have somebody watching you, that way nothing happens If the EMS has to come get me, can I please use the restroom before we leave? Yes, I'll, I'll, we'll make sure of that We'll have to escort you in, obviously, but just so you don't make an issue And I understand why you're mad, so Thank you sir All right, um, I'm going to pull up there, okay? And then I'm going to want the security to watch you, just so I can talk to somebody in there Sir you're okay Okay Is that heat too strong, or is it good level? Okay, I'll be right back, okay? Is there a security officer that can watch her while I talk to the staff real quick? Thank you Yeah, no rush, you're good So here's a question for you Um, I was going to see if you guys, one of you, you or somebody could watch her, she's in the back of the seat right here I was going to talk to staff and see what they're willing to do, apparently (unintelligible) condition and all that stuff like that Apparently this is the only hospital that we'll see her as far as her condition (Officer unintelligible) We won't transport her I mean, I could take her (unintelligible) we leave, but I can't go around a minor (unintelligible) so That's the only problem is it's just a little more than physical threats made Um So I didn't know if you'd be able to watch her right from here Yeah (unintelligible) I don't want you to get, yeah, cool If, um, is this locked right now? If you need access, I'll just give you these for now, just in case I think my key works on this Oh, okay You want to try it this way Looks like it Yep Okay Yeah, just, yeah, from the front and then Appreciate it Yeah, um, I'm trying to possibly talk to the charge nurse possibly I don't know if she, do you know if that lady was in the ER originally? The one that with the hair, yeah I don't know I can ask them (Staff unintelligible) Okay So, I'm going to try to talk to the guy that originally triaged her Apparently this is the only hospital that treats EDS Otherwise it's UFM We don't transport Um, I can't book her on disorderly conduct unless it's higher threats or more physical So my supervisor is telling me (unintelligible), um, right now she's in my vehicles Um, what's the problem? She also dealt with nurses out here Yeah, so I'll try to get there Yeah, I'll try to get there So I guess (Unintelligible) we dealt with her Stephanie dealt with her Okay Todd originally dealt with her That's when it was coming to the front (Officer unintelligible) She got verbally aggressive with Dr. Picori too So, I'm just with everybody, she's Okay (Unintelligible) Right now, just a lot of curse words and a lot of like, you know what, I can't do anything I can't breathe Blah, blah, blah, get the doctor now This is effing -- And they're like, yeah, you can't talk to us like that And they're like, but you're not gonna do anything Blah, blah, blah And they said, if you don't stop acting like this then you're going to get escorted off the property And she goes, I'll leave, da, da, da And she was refusing to leave Okay And she was like, so now you're denying care And I said, no, if you behave appropriately, we'll give you care But not (Officer unintelligible) Yeah So I was like, it's kind of your own decisions getting -- out right now Was there any physical or any like straight up threats to anybody? Not to me None that I heard (Unintelligible) It's more just behavior and disruptiveness Demanding, disrespecting the physician earlier on This is the second time it came back First time she was She left AMA the first time too She signed up AMA So she was in the back left This all started because she missed her orthopedic appointment Okay She was 15 minutes late Gotcha They said, well, we're going to reschedule to the 24th Just follow up then She goes, no, I want things done now Unfortunately, you're late for your appointments Went into that mentality And then we got her back into the back And then she's dictating, well, you're going to take me out of this booth and you're going to put me in this clinic Well, orthopedics did not want that because it'll get wet, get unstable And you're supposed to be (unintelligible) She goes, well, I'm going to walk in all the way you want Well, if you're going to do that, then you remain in the booth Yeah Okay And if you don't want to do what we're advising you, you're going to sign out AMA against the procedure, which she did Okay And then She did? Okay Yeah And then she wanted The first time The second time she didn't sign out, she was escorted off Yeah Okay So, we gave her two chances and Gotcha Her own behavior, getting her in trouble Okay So it was just Verbal (Unintelligible) Okay And, and not very selective here because what AMA were trying to tell her, she wanted what she wanted It wouldn't have been that way Okay So that was the language And then I heard her out here at one point I was at this, at that Yeah She said, I told her, ma'am, you can't be out in the (unintelligible) Recorded contact prevents that Her head was (unintelligible) She goes (unintelligible) hospital staff Okay I said, well, if you keep it up, you can go outside more And she told me to grab her and put her outside That's when I came to you because Gotcha (Unintelligible) talk to her because I probably didn't hurt her Yeah I gotcha Okay And I'm not going to do that because you carry a hell of a lot more authority than I do Yep I gotcha Yeah I'm just kind of stuck in the middle of I can't transport her I can't take her to the hospital or so I'm like Can't you take her (unintelligible) She says she wanna go home? I told her that, but she wants to be seen medically Um (unintelligible) That's what (Officer unintelligible) So, yeah She's in my car and I'm not really sure where to take her That's what I'm trying to figure out I didn't know if they were willing to re-see her if I was back there They will Probably not Right now, we'll not see her if she comes back in Gotcha Okay That's what I was trying to reconfirm Yeah Because of her attitude, her behavior, and it's not life-threatening Yeah Oh, it's not Okay That's what she was It's not life threatening No Okay She came for her, like I said, because she missed the ortho appointment She's trying to tell my nurse that she's got anaphylaxis, which is a swelling of the tongue and stuff like this, but yet she's perfectly fine She doesn't She's telling me she can't breathe, and she's screaming at the top of her lungs, and all I said, Ma'am, as long as you're yelling, you can breathe fine Yeah We did it over there So, uh We don't have a record - I don't know - We don't Okay At this point, we consider this non-life threatening And she doesn't want to collaborate, with the medical staff, to get the treatment So Okay I mean, like I said, you know, Dr. Corey said, you're not the boss, I'm the boss for him to get mad It takes a lot It takes a lot Okay Hey, sir Sorry to bother you Um Question for you is, do you think me transporting her to Toledo Hospital, for medical would be, okay, just to get checked out to see? Okay I just don't know I'm just stuck right now I'm just not sure what to She's in the back of my vehicle No, I know I just, I was confirming here, whether ER staff was okay, seeing her again or not That's a thing Um She did earlier today She left AMA and then she came back That's because she left Um She was late to her orthopedic appointment for her right ankle, and then, she came back because she was upset about it And then that's, that's why, it's going on, I guess Yeah Okay Sounds good Thanks, sir All right Um So I'm just going to let you know, what my options are and what they're not Um I can't take you home 'cause we're not a cab -- taxi I can't take you to another hospital because, (unintelligible) service here The ER will not see you And... you're not allowed to go back in the ER or any, medical services like, building in here But do you have anybody else? And I'm not res— I, I don't have to get you a ride I mean, I can't give you a ride anywhere else I need to call I need to call paramedics That's it I need a paramedics or what Okay But we— See, the thing is, is you came here, and that's So then what do I need to do? So pretty much, you have to find a ride to a hospital That's not us You have to find a cab or a bus I mean I have no options For my supervisor, I'm not Sir, I have no options It's not our problem, though You created that today in there You could have gotten seen I'm -- You're not -- Yeah, I am I'm --, man I don't understand what's going on Okay Uh, I'm What I'm going to do is, I'm gonna put this out here, and you're going to have to find a ride I can't I know We don't have options I have no phone I have nothing I need a phone Okay If you need to call somebody, you can use that phone right there I need to call another emergency I need to call paramedics That's the I have no, I have no phone number - I have no, no - You have no parents? I have nothing I'm sorry I don't have options here I have nothing I don't have options here, ma'am You had your option here, and that's it If You can't go back in the ER You have to make your way off the property I have nothing Yeah You're trespassed for 72 hours I just want to tell you that Okay? I have nothing I know, I, I You left it out of my control You left it on my control Your decisions, made that decision Then I get out and -- That's it You're not gonna -- I'm going to No, you're not I'm allergic to a foreign body Based off, of their evaluations, so No Okay But you don't know They never evaluated me Earlier they did You left AMA You left AMA today They made me Because you were late, for your orthopedic appointment, correct? And you were mad about that You were late, and that's on you You have to reschedule, and I understand you want to be seen I know Find your way to another hospital Because you're not allowed here You're banned from here I need a public I need a bus pass I can't Look Do you have money? Do you have any I was given a bus pass by another officer, at a different hospital We don't do that service here, though I don't know what to do I need another officer - from a different area - You don't have any We can't That's not, they're— This is our jurisdiction We don't have I need you to direct me to an area, where I can get service I need somebody's call Toledo Hospital Toledo Hospital If you want to walk or if you have a ride Or you have anybody— I offered a phone There's a phone right there You need to call somebody that you know Any friends, anybody in the area If you don't, you gonna have to walk I'm sorry That's the only options we have We cannot be I know my grandmother's phone number by heart, but it's a Okay And she will not come get me She's in Cleveland Does she know anybody in the area? You know that person? She told me not to call her again, because I called the police on her earlier because I have her house foreclosed for her Okay So, no, I No, I will just get out of your vehicle, and then, walk across the street somewhere If you Okay Once you exit on Arlington I have to Or you come back on the property - I'm gonna be arrested - you'll be arrested That's it I've done this before That's, why are you, why are you Because I've done this before Why don't you go to a hospital, and be seen and not have an attitude, - I wasn't seen - and let them serve you? But why do you have to get them upset? They're doing as fast as they can They are I'm not upset that they're It's not the speed, sir But why are you upset about that? I'm not upset at their speed What were you upset about? My treatment I'm not being treated properly And you know this No, I don't Because when they evaluated you, they didn't identify any of that stuff No, because And you're feeling like it's worse I understand that, but My stuff is not identifiable Okay That's I have an unidentifiable illness Okay I have an unidentifiable They diagnosed me - My doctor - I can't - Here at the hospital - The problem is I cannot transport you So, the option is you, you get out of the car and you walk, or you, phone somebody that's in the area, that can pick you up - Oh, that's all - Okay? You want to drive yourself off the hook? I'm okay That's all you had to say is that, they didn't want me But that's They told you that before you left, though But you told me that I needed you, to tell me that But they're I'm I work for the UT hospital Again, you work for a more important department, than these people No, I don't You do How? Because your boss is a little bit bigger than theirs It's really not Way bigger, actually Because I'd rather not sit in a cell for 72 hours Okay Sounds good Your job is way bigger than theirs Cause I'd rather sit in their cell, for nine days, than sit in your cell for 72 hours No, no I'm not saying, you're going to be in the jail for 72 hours I'm saying you're banned from here for, 72 hours Oh, I thought you were gonna take me to jail for 72 hours No, I'm saying if you don't leave, that's what You're going to Lucas County Jail I'd rather not go sit in a jail for 72 hours I'd rather be healthier for nine days Okay Than go anywhere to jail Okay Okay Sounds good She's walking towards uh, Hospital Drive and Student Act Center Arlington I'm going to follow her around and make sure she leaves Okay Ready? Mikayla, we had this conversation already Yes, we did, sir We did I'm trying to get on your property for a stranger Okay I told you to turn right at the stop sign and go out to Arlington I can't walk that far anymore You just said you were going to I'm gonna collapse I cannot walk that far anymore I, I'm going to ask a stranger to take me home Another man that is off the clock I'm going Like, exactly like you want me to I told you you were trespassed for 72 hours And I told you to leave You need to arrest me But I'm leaving the premise now So if you want to arrest me, that's fine Okay I can draw my belongings Okay And you can put me in cuffs and take me Or I can go with this man I'm sorry, dear I'm not going to take you Oh, it's fine You can arrest me No, I'm gonna watch you go off there And then if you don't leave, I will arrest you I can't walk no more You have to arrest me Why did you agree to that then? Why don't you have any, you don't have any phone numbers? - Oh, You have to take me to jail if he - (Officer unintelligible) You have to take me to jail if he doesn't take me You legally have to take me, to jail I'm asking you to He doesn't take me I'm asking you to arrest me If I can't book you on a minor misdemeanor, so You can't, you have to What else am I supposed to do? We've already had that conversation You gone two different hospitals already I can't walk that far anymore I told you And I'm disabled I told you if it's up to me, I would transport you personally I cannot (unintelligible) my supervisor You have to bring me to Lucas County It is your responsibility You have to bring me in no matter what, even though I cannot be arrested It is your duty to bring me to your office, or you will get fired He has denied We had the conversation up there What my supervisor told me, you gave me two options and I gave you one option You're leaving because I cannot give your ride to your house It's too far We're not a cab service Then you're taking me to your office where your boss is like you It's not an office It's a jail It's not Lucas County You're taking me where you're, you're supposed to do - You gave me— - You're not supposed to do You need to do it because he will not take me as a civilian You're good You're good Thank you I appreciate it Yeah I asked a civilian Yeah, I told you to leave though I walked to the nearest person I could across your street and now you legally This isn't across the street - Illegal, yeah - I'm talking the lake Arlington is the street This is UT property Yeah So what's going on? What are you doing? Dropping my stuff for you You legally had to put me in cuffs and take me to the office - For misdemeanor - Why do you think you know, why— What makes you think that I legally have to I don't want you to lose your job and I'm trespassing I'm not I still have discretion here So I'm trying I'm trying to work as much as possible I'm trespassing I was trying to get you out Okay I'm not going any farther and I'm trespassing and that's okay Okay Um, I have accepted that I have trespassed I have to request a female officer, so So if you want to step over that door, we'll do this It's fine I have fully acknowledged that I have to go to your office, sir It's not an office It's a jail I have fully acknowledged that I have to do this in order to go home and that is okay with me Okay I'm not scared I got you No, I'm not I understand I'm not mad at you Stay there, okay Mikayla was taken to the Lucas County jail and charged with two counts, one for criminal trespass and another for her combative behavior toward medical staff and officers She said jail was better than being ignored and got her wish When "I'm not leaving” meets “You're under arrest”, it never ends well Like watching these Karen's say NO and then spiral when confronted by police? Then hit Like and leave a comment This next Karen goes even deeper off the rails Laurel came in swinging — and kept swinging all the way into a pair of waiting handcuffs, courtesy of Mount Vernon Police, on April 26th, 2024 Her arrest at a Washington Safeway was loud and filled with accusations and demands She wanted a resolution — and got a court date Hey, Laurel Um, I don't, I don't (unintelligible) for me I need to talk to some people that this Okay The other man called Laurel You're under arrest, so I need you to put your hands behind your back for me I'm not going to do that Laurel You can talk to them -I just did -They called you I'm waiting for the people that this man called -So I need -You also (unintelligible) I have a, I have a right to express, explain what I, I understood I have a right to talk to someone about that, Okay and I have the right to conflict resolution So you go talk to the person who called you You're under arrest I am not interested in that It doesn't matter what you're interested in I'm not available for that You need my rights as much as you need hers Put your hands behind your back You need my rights as much as you need hers Put your hands behind your back No, I'm waiting I'm going to wait for help Oh boy, poor one Go ahead and step it up Uh She's verbally non-compliant We've informed her she's under arrest Well, talk to her Understand what did she say to me? What are her exact words? She said that you -- her in the face Okay, what happened before that? I don't know what happened before that What happened before that? Laurel, stop -Alex, these cuffs are probably too loose -You are not welcome on this side To touch anyone, ever again She had a full arsenal of "Karen" classics: playing the victim, pretending to be powerless, trying to outrank the cops, and of course — dodging every ounce of blame But the officers weren't new to this game For them, it was just another Friday Those cuffs are on way too loose I don't wanna be -- Get away from me! Laurel, chill out You're a --! You are the --! You are the man, you are the --! Keep your hands right there You are the man, you are the --! You do what I don’t!
