we've had a few days of snowfall each with an inch or half inch or even just a dusting but people can be overconfident with just a little snow which means we've had hundreds of crashes across the twin cities including one driver who plowed into a police car this is mn safety welcome to minnesota we'll show you each incident caught on camera including a couple heartwarming incidents and celebrate the one-year anniversary of this incredible rescue all in under five minutes first a car loses control while on a bridge hitting the sidewall with a bit of force thankfully the pile of snow against that right wall was still low enough to prevent them from dangling over the bridge several minnesotans stopped to help and fire rescue was called to the scene with a tiller truck at the rear of the incident to help protect the first responders the incident is almost a year to the day of this incredible rescue d.o.t agencies do work to remove these snow piles which can almost serve as a ramp but it takes time and specialized equipment this rescue was near the minneapolis airport they did get the driver out gave him a nice pat on the back next up edina minnesota right side of your screen there's the squad their lights are activated they get rear-ended we've reached out to the agency for the vehicle involved we'll try to post an update if we hear anything but we are not aware of any serious injuries related to that crash this next segment we might call cars crashing into existing crash scenes and serves as a good reminder that a crash up ahead might mean that there's less traction and always means to pay more attention please it was just a week ago that we saw a truck driver get hit incredibly no serious injuries but he was on the side of the freeway and a car craned into him so a great reminder here for all of us to pay a little more attention and maybe slow down as we drive into these crash scenes a trooper here really re-emphasizing the point slow down slow down and i just want to take two seconds to say thank you to tow truck drivers who have been tireless this winter and diligently cleaning up after the rest of us now let's do a crash every five seconds caught on camera at or near a crash scene here we've got cars on a crash scene blocking the left lanes both in that last clip and this one that left lane is blocked this car spins out of control gonna hit that center barrier right side of your screen school bus just went past they're into the guard rail gonna go back across three lanes to the left and this car wisely bails i think they avoided contact and made a pretty good decision there to go pretty far off to the left again that jeep i don't think it's damaged at all pickup now going the other way there's a crash traffic coming to a stop this pickup gonna go straight into the guardrail on the right side of your screen a white car coming into the frame white ford taurus and it's going to slide right next if you if you rewind you'll see that those medium cable barriers already got cleared out from a previous crash so it's crashing in the exact same spot where another car crashed previously and further down the road there's another vehicle off the road next up look to the right side of your screen this pickup it's sliding backwards gonna go all the way down the ditch into the sound wall gonna slowly roll over multiple first responders on scene now lowry tunnel in downtown minneapolis i-94 minivan's going to lose control crash into that right but perfect timing because it happens right in front of the ambulance ambulance is going to call up the crash be first on scene with an amazing response time a bridge deck night time driving winter conditions and you end up with this type of situation that car goes across all lanes of traffic crosses the on-ramp and does slowly rolls over i think take a look let me know if you think i got that right but i think they did a slow rollover next up watch the red pickup it's going to slide across three lanes of traffic as it hits into that ditch it's going to roll over and it's actually going to go airborne we'll show you why we think that huge plume of snow lots of minnesotans stop and respond and help out they're hugging their lucky stars that they ended up relatively okay under the circumstances large response of course because we've got a roll over on the freeway but look at these tracks because clearly there is a point when no part of that vehicle was touching the ground by coincidence this camera perfectly situated to catch this car going into the sound wall and punching a hole in it looks like the car is mostly okay next in duluth we don't just do the twin cities we try to cover a lot of minnesota this one's up north in duluth they're going to go against the center median concrete barrier trooper getting some of the junk out of the lane of traffic if you're feeling stressed from all these crashes take a break here's a positive note several people stopped to help with this roll over and they recovered their the owner's dog gave it over to police versus a light pole thankfully it's a breakaway i don't know if who won yeah check for damage the light pole is down maybe they both lost hang in there i know the first part is hard to see but car is going to lose control it's going to hit that center concrete wall i threw this one in here because the car is still drivable so when the trooper shows up we've sped it up they're gonna say hey let's move over to the shoulder let's clear these lane to traffic but unfortunately it looks like it was only partially drivable they had the car stopped stopped working so now the troopers got to push them thankfully everyone was very patient and allowed them to clear the lanes of traffic one more reminder i think this is a good example of just to be a little bit more careful especially on freeways as you go into these turns we've seen a lot of these where you start to lose control then you're going into the ditch and the ditch you're going to slowly maybe roll over in the ditch maybe you're not injured but you've totaled out your car now several minnesotans of course stopping to help and make sure everything's okay here and we saved the most unusual the weirdest for last this car was hanging out on the shoulder they're gonna slowly merge back into the freeway this is heading downtown and emerging on it like 20 miles an hour that's worth noting some of our this coverage is over a weekend or weekend night but incredibly they merge back on and then just drive straight up onto the concrete wall over a bridge thankfully no injuries with this
