Get on the ground. Get out of the ground. Taser. Taser. Taser. >> Taser. Taser. Taser. >> No, I got it. >> I got it. I got it. [laughter] >> Okay. >> So, ma'am, you're saying this isn't your gun? >> I swear to God, it's not. >> What was it doing in your bag? >> I don't know. >> Yeah. She kept saying, "I'll pay you. I'll pay you. Don't call the cops. Don't call the cops." I was like, >> "Yeah, >> they put kids in jeopardy." >> Oh, yeah. Just like the rest of us, police officers are human and sometimes arrests don't go their way. However, there are some very brave citizens out there who can lend a helping hand. So whether it's shoplifterss, wannabe gangsters, or convicted felons, the criminals still get caught red-handed when these bystanders take the law into their own hands. >> You're going to hell, my man. >> You're going to jail. >> You're going to hell. >> You're going to jail. >> Cuz you don't believe in Jesus. Why don't you love me? >> Not saying I do or don't, man. >> You don't love me, brother. >> On September 17th, 2024, the cops were called out to a supermarket after getting reports about a drunk guy who was causing a disturbance and tried to fight the customers. Once the cops arrived, they found the suspect, Phil, urinating on a wall outside the store. Very quickly, things got really bizarre. >> Sit down. Don't touch the >> Don't do not touch me. Why are you touching me, bro? Why you touching? Let's get here quick, please. Sit down. I need transport. I need transport. I need >> deputies out of here, man. >> Knockers >> at this point. Oh, you already Are you serious, bro? >> Stop it, sir. >> Stop, sir. Please. >> Phil was acting tough and was clearly intoxicated, and it was obvious he was not going to make things easy. As a matter of fact, he seemed intent on making things very difficult. Luckily though, there was a good Samaritan there who jumped in and helped. >> Give me this arm. >> Give me this arm or I'll just snap it off. >> I'll snap you off. >> Give me your arm. Give your arms now. Arms up. Get behind your back. >> Arms behind your back. [screaming] >> Behind your back. >> Sir, stop resisting. >> I'll stop if you put behind your back. >> Other arm. Other arm. Stop resisting. I'll relieve the pressure. >> Stop resisting. >> Stop resisting, sir. >> After seeing the cops struggling to pin the man down, multiple bystanders rushed in to help. Eventually, after realizing that he had no chance at all of taking on three people at once, the man stopped resisting. Backup arrived right at that moment and the suspect was surrounded. >> Huh? >> You all right? >> What was on this? >> You're going to hell, my man. >> You're going to jail. >> You're going to hell. >> You're going to jail >> cuz you don't believe in Jesus. >> I'm going to jail. >> Okay. >> But I do believe in Jesus. >> Okay. >> And you're going to hell because you don't believe in Jesus. You can go yourself >> can just stick by ourselves. >> You pieces of you devil demon pieces of >> Hey, uh two points for I got him down. >> He's submissive. >> How crazy. >> He's a cop. He's going to go to hell. You devil. You devil. >> You're a devil. You're a devil. You're a devil. You're a devil. You're a devil. That mother white piece of [ __ ] that came over here and tried to arrest me and helped to arrest me is a devil. >> You're a devil. >> Then the arrest took an unexpected turn when Phil decided it was a good idea to start spreading the word of God. He condemned the officers and the helpful bystanders to hell as if he was the one that was innocent despite being currently arrested. But you're all going to hell >> because you won't repent. >> None of you will repent. >> None of you will repent. >> Which one of you will repent? >> None of you will repent. Look at you. Look at you. You piece of >> Hey, sir. >> You won't repent for your sins. >> I ain't do nothing wrong. Nobody. >> You assaulted an officer, my man. >> I assaulted an officer. >> You did? Yeah. Please explain how I assault exalt assaulted an officer. Please explain how I >> You can't touch us. >> I can't do >> sir. Just stay right there. Stay seated. >> Don't touch me. Stay seated. >> You know why you're obese? You know why you're obese? >> I stress off people like you. >> Just stop. >> You're obese. Because you're a real stop. On top of assaulting an officer and hurling insults at him, he also resisted arrest, which is never a smart move. His resistance was so aggressive that one of the bystanders, who might have been a Marine, judging by his cap, walked away with a bloody lip. >> Coaches coaches. >> Yes, sir. >> Are you a good man of Jesus Christ? >> I try to be. >> You swear to God. >> You believe in Christ? >> Yeah. I go to church every once in a while. I try to go when I can, you know. >> I love you, brother. >> We'll get things figured out. Okay. >> I love you, brother. If if you're my brother in Christ, I love you, man. >> I appreciate it, man. >> You know that. >> I appreciate it. Okay. Just try just try to stay calm for us and we'll try to work this out. All right. >> There ain't no working this stuff, man. These devils been going for you for a while. >> Yeah. >> I love you, brother. >> I appreciate it. >> Love you, my brother. Praise. I love you. >> I appreciate it. >> And I appreciate you. >> Glad you found God. >> About coach, what's your first name? >> It's Bill. >> Bill. >> Yeah. I love you. >> In another unexpected move, he made a really sharp U-turn. One moment, he was damning the cops to hell. And in the next moment, he was declaring his love for one of them. It was a really weird shift, and it showed just how unstable Phil was. >> I'm going to jail again. Well, for the name of Jesus Christ, I'll go to jail here. >> Okay, you got to figure it out. All right. >> Oh, it's okay. You'll figure it out by put me in jail. >> [laughter] >> Well, >> we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens. >> It's okay, bro. It don't matter. >> Okay. >> Cuz either way, I'm with Jesus. >> That's right. >> He'll protect you. He'll protect you. >> He will protect me. >> Yep. >> But you guys will die on account of me for locking me up and putting me in these bondages. And that's on you and that's on you and that's on you. God will strike you down for locking me up. He will. Maybe he will. I don't know. >> God will strike you down in your seat and your seaweed line and your wife and your family, your children. >> After realizing that he couldn't guilt trip the officer with his talk about love and Christianity, he then took a more threatening tone. By then, the cops had called an ambulance to check on Phil and make sure he was safe before the inevitable trip to jail. >> Couple stupid questions. You know what year it is? >> 2024. >> God, who the president is? >> Donald, it should be Donald Trump. [laughter] But it's mother I don't even know the American people until I came Harris and Joe and Donald Listen Donald Trump showed you the president. >> I don't think you need any X-rays or anything like that. You just got some bruises and some just saying I assault somebody. Are you serious? >> Yeah. >> Show me the film, please, and let me stand up in court. You will you will have that time and you will have that cake, but right now you're coming with us. So >> I know I'll go to jail. >> We we didn't necessarily say go to jail. >> No, it's cool. >> It's cool. >> You know how they You know how they judge how long you're going to live your life? >> Whether you can get up on the ground by yourself. >> I did it. I saw it. >> And I did it. You know how long I would have lived? >> Long time. >> 175 years. >> While he continued his incoherent rambling, the cops finally got to speak to the bystanders who'd helped restrain him. They both agreed that any use of force by the cops was justified because Phil had put his hands on the officer first. >> Jesus is your father. Why do you love me? >> Yeah. I I don't say I love you to people I don't know. But >> No, no, no. It doesn't matter. Probably Jesus Christ is your father. >> You love me. >> Yep. >> Cuz I'm his son, too. >> That's that that's right. That's what what the Bible says. >> So why don't you love me, brother? >> I love all the sons of Jesus. Jesus. >> That includes you if you're telling me that. All right. >> I 100%. >> I love my Lord Jesus Christ. >> Okay. >> Above all. >> All right. >> He is my father. He is my God. He's everything. So why don't you love me? >> Not saying I do or don't. Man, >> you don't love me, brother. >> Yeah. I love you so much, bro. You know that. You're my brother no matter what. >> You know that. >> I appreciate it, man. >> Even though you put me in a jail cell, you put me in a family. >> That's so do. Just raise your hand. Okay, this way. Yep. I'm going to double lock off himself or tight on me. >> Oh, thank you so much, brother. You are such a >> Bill tried some sweet talk, but he was getting nowhere with the arresting officer, so he tried it on another cop. If he thought charm was going to stop him from going to jail, he was sorely mistaken. >> Yo, who's that little blonde cutie elf? >> What's your name? What's your name, brother? Dude, you're a handsome dude. Like, >> no homo. >> No homo. >> Let's get going. All right, let's get it rolling. >> I'm sorry. >> You're right. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Huh? Yeah. >> They arrested Phil and he was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and battery on an officer. During his drunken ramblings earlier, Phil let it slip that he'd been to jail before. It wasn't clear what it was for, but when it comes to sentencing, having a history of arrest doesn't exactly work in your favor. On the 4th of April, 2022, the cops got a call about a stolen rental car. The case quickly turned into a high-speed chase with the female driver running red lights at speeds of 90 mph. Things got so dangerous the cops had to call the chase off temporarily just to keep bystanders safe. >> Terminated at no beach clear. >> It was a white female driver. She had fairly long brown hair. >> Keep running. I mean we we obviously like I said we terminated. We shoot 90 down middle beach running red lights. Yeah. was last seen southbound at Middle Beach in Clara head towards beach. We terminated turned around. >> No one thought I heard speeds are 90 and she's running red lights. We ain't chasing that. >> She took off. So I thought I was trying to catch up and and next thing I know I pass her at the traffic on Middle Beach at Richard Jackson. I was like, "Mother, she's behind me." Soon as traffic started going, she turned off into Sonic and then and then it was on from there. She she knew exactly what the hell was going on. So what >> did she have long hair or short hair? >> Long hair. I just saw a silver50 passing me off Frank Brown. >> It's it's a rental it's a it's a rental vehicle that was stolen. So, it looks fairly new and fairly clean. >> Just minutes later, the cops spotted the suspect and apprehended the woman with the help of a bystander who used his car to block off her escape path. With nowhere left to run, she was cornered. But the chase was only beginning and it looked like things were going to get a whole lot worse as the woman's dark secrets came to light. >> I don't trust >> Yeah, I got you. Robert, >> have you previously requested any law officer to allow you to speak to attorney? With these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now? >> Yes. >> All righty. >> At one. >> I mean, Robert was with me. He was just I mean, >> well, you're driving. You could have pulled over. So, >> I mean, really? >> Yeah. This is a common sense thing to do. >> You got anything on you? You'll be >> This isn't fair. I dropped him off two roads down. Can y'all go get him, too? >> Well, you should have stopped the car when the lights >> I pulled over whenever I stopped and got him out of the car. >> The suspect said she was in the car with a man named Robert, but he was later identified as Shane. According to her, she dropped him off somewhere during the chase. At that point, it wasn't clear if she was telling the truth or not, but there was a bystander there to give his account of things. >> Y'all the one chasing her? >> Yeah. >> Is she going to wipe me out? I block that kill. >> Mhm. >> And then I'm and stop her right here. >> Well, thank you. I appreciate it. >> She stopped that Sonic. So, I think that's where she dropped. She was right. Right. >> When you pulled in at Sonic, is that when Shane jumped out? >> Right. >> So, he's somewhere around here. >> This isn't right that I'm getting all this. The one that told me to keep going. >> I mean, I'd rather listen to us than some Shane mister. Would he be at Yuvon that that house over there? >> He I don't know where he is now. I know he was dropped off whenever I >> got charged for leaving. >> Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. 100%. >> So, I can take her then. >> Yeah, we'll take her. >> I got a warrant, too. >> Oh, you have a warrant on her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. >> So, I'll I'll serve the warrant. >> Mhm. >> You guys got her on everything else? >> Yeah. >> After running her details, the cops discovered she already had an open warrant. Add that to fleeing and eluding and she was looking at serious time. The cop spoke to another bystander who had witnessed the chaos outside his workplace. >> Hey sir, good up in here on break about hit the damn building. There's a little baggie over there beside that car. I don't know what's in it. I ran out here and she's over there up against the wood fence and I asked her what she was doing and she come back fell up against my truck and then jumped in the truck and about run us over leaving out of here. Mind if I just get some information from you? >> Get a car coming out here. >> Yeah, she was she was running from us. What's your title here? >> I'm just employee employee. Mother-in-law owns this business. >> Okay. Thank you. >> She's got a local warrant. So, County's going to serve her with that and then we'll get her for fling and eluding. >> Okay. >> Um, let me just get your name and phone number really quick >> just just in case. Yeah. >> What's your first name? >> Michael. >> That's where she about hit me and I chased her over here. >> Okay. >> And I'm over. >> Yeah. And I blocked her. I ran her, chased her. She jumped out and I blocked her in right here. And then County came up and I pointed right here. >> Yeah. She kept saying, "I'll pay you. I'll pay you. Don't call the cops. Don't call the cops." I was like, >> "Yeah." >> They put kids in jeopardy. When I saw it and I was like, "Okay." and she pulled in like the Kilgore's parking lot about hit the building and then that's where I stopped her >> and then she was backing out and she about hit me again and I tried to block her in and the owners of Kilgore said hey don't do that I said she's running from the police she about hit me she's running she wanted oh sorry I had her blocked in killing >> what um did you see the mail >> I didn't All I saw was her >> and she had to hold it down all I saw was her >> nobody had seen the man she claimed to be driving with. Still though, they logged the man's details and alerted the station. She told police when he got out of the car, he was wearing blue jeans and a gray top. >> So when she pulled in here, I seen her jump out, jump into the fence, come over. Well, I ran across, was trying to call, and I blocked her. I ran. She said, "Don't call the call. I'll pay you." And I was like, "No, no, no, no, no. You put too many kids and lives in jeopardy just to spend together." >> I appreciate that. >> The cops confirmed the suspect's car was a rental and they moved in to search it. What they discovered inside revealed disturbing secrets about the suspect. >> Nice. Got a firearm in here. >> Oh, there we go. >> Lot of cell phones. >> That's heavy. >> I don't want to know what this is for. >> Wonder what kind of activities she's involved in. Some ma'am, you're saying this isn't your gun? >> I swear to God, it's not. >> What was it doing in your bag? >> I don't know. >> I don't do I've passed every one of my drug test. I don't do. >> In the car, the cops found lingerie, cell phones, and a firearm tucked away in her handbag. She swore it wasn't hers, but come on. Like people just find random guns in their luggage. Then the cops heard from dispatch and it was really a kicker. She was already a convicted felon. >> Convicted felon. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Sweet. Possession of Okay. Yeah. We're going to have like a plethora of charges on her. >> Didn't double lock them yet. Make sure. >> All right. Thanks, Mike. >> Hold on a second. >> This is the gentleman that's claiming that was with her, but our witnesses and all that. So, there's only one person in the car. >> Yeah, I only saw one person. So, um, she's a convicted felon. We're looking at at least, uh, start from the top. Uh, >> Brian's got the Brian can do the charges. You want felude and you want no valid? >> I'll take the gun charge. I'll take all that. >> Let Brian do the >> Yeah. >> or supplement from you? >> Yep. >> I I saw her in the driver's seat, too, cuz I saw her hair like >> going nuts. >> Yeah. >> She was put on makeup when I passed her. >> Do you want Do you want me to make you a list of all the >> Sure. Go ahead. Yeah, just put it in the chat. Go ahead. Step out for me. Yeah. That gray door in the corner. Step right over here for me. [clears throat] Turn around for me. The woman faced charges for reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, driving without a license, firearm possession during the commission of a felony, drug possession, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. She was also charged for her active warrant. On March 24th, 2025 in Florida, the cops were called to a shopping mall after a woman named Samantha, who had active felony warrants, was seen getting into a truck. By the time officers arrived, she was trying to flee, but she didn't get far before she crashed into another truck and also a tree. >> Hands. Hands. >> Hands. Get on the ground. Get out of the ground. Taser. Taser. Taser. Taser. Taser. Taser. >> No. No. I got her. I got >> I got her. I got her. You are under arrest. >> Why? >> Why? >> For what? >> That's a double question. >> She's a driver. Yes. Go back to the car. Watch the car. >> For what? >> For what? What did you just do? >> Well, I just crashed the car. >> Yeah, because you're stupid. That's why. >> What are you looking at me for? >> You have warrants for your arrest, young lady. Number one. Number two, when you see a police officer, you don't flee. And I don't even know if you have a license. So that's why you're in handcuffs. Okay. >> Staying there. >> No. >> No. No. What? >> No. >> Young lady, you're not going to dictate what happens. You understand? Okay. >> You are not in control and you are not in charge. >> Okay. >> I know it was a little bit much, but it's all done. No hard feelings. Okay. But again, as long as you act like a young lady, an adult, they'll treat you as such. Okay. But the minute you get out of control, you're going to get treated like that. Okay. Zero tolerance. You understand me? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. I appreciate that. Thank you. >> Cuz you did some damage to this gentleman's nice truck. Okay. >> Well, frankly, you didn't need away like you did. But that is what it is. >> Getting arrested. >> Oh. >> Do you have a license? >> Yes, sir. >> The officer called the station to see if any female deputies were available to search her. Then, despite seeming perfectly fine just moments earlier, Samantha dramatically dropped to the floor. The cop quickly called EMS and waited for the female officer. >> Are we going to play this game now, too? Hang on. >> Star wants it. >> Go ahead and start EMS. Reference this female. She pays to be allergic to handcuffs. >> She wants to eat. >> Sit up. Stay there. Stop acting a fool. Okay. All you're going to do is delay going to jail. All right. H I'm going to give you the same opportunity I give everyone. I'm going to ask the same questions I ask every single person. Do you have anything on you that's going to poke me, stick me, stab me, hurt me in any way? Okay. Do you have anything on you that you should not have on you when you go into the jail? The reason I'm asking is a third degree, >> right? Yeah. You're going to go through a body. So, they're going to be able Okay. I just like to ask and give everyone that opportunity. Okay. This is a that's a strip search. You can't >> I'm not stripping you down. I'm checking your waistline. >> Nope. You're under arrest. I can search anywhere I want. >> Yo yo yo yo. You can't be doing that. >> Okay, you need to stop pulling away from me. I'm sorry, but like >> I can actually because you're going to jail. >> You can do it in the jail, but [clears throat] you can't do it on the side of the road. >> I can. >> Then you can't. >> If her reckless behavior hadn't already given it away, then the way she knew the officer's instructions verbatim made it clear she was no stranger to getting arrested. Also, there was that string of outstanding felony warrants. EMS showed up soon after and checked her out a bit after her dramatic episode of fainting. >> What does she need EMS for? >> I don't know. She passed out. We just want to make sure she's okay. You want to jump for a >> warrant? Sure. Check out. >> Okay. You know what city this is? >> All right. United States. All right. >> You're good. Okay. >> Sorry, guys. Huh? >> What? >> Yeah. >> No, whenever he's ready, I guess we can put her in the car, but just wait. >> Yeah, no worries. >> I think do that. Let me get this guy's information so I can give him his for the crash. >> Do you mind for like 2 minutes? >> You're good. >> Soon as Lonnie takes over, you can >> Yeah. >> Can you grab your driver's license on the registration? Do you have your driver's license? >> Yeah, it's an out of state license. I just moved here. How you change? >> Welcome to Florida. >> I've been coming here for years. That's why I come here, man. You know, cuz it's laidback. The last few months, these people are teeing up on everybody. >> Kind of crazy. Yeah. >> The bystander explained that he was walking to the parking lot when he saw Samantha slam her car into a tree and then a parked Chevy. After that, he went back inside to report the crash. One of the cops recognized Samantha and knew about her past drug use. Samantha admitted she'd been to rehab before. >> Wait, please. You know, I keep asking and asking and asking. I know I keep ask right there. >> Leopard print bag. >> In the leopard bag. >> There should be >> your bag. Yes. >> Well, that's why she run. >> She got more in there. >> I haven't checked this out yet, but we're about to find out. >> So, this is why I found it here. So, >> this is what was scattered. >> When did she start selling again? Huh? >> I think we think she just picked up cuz I followed the dude at the dope boy. I followed the dope boy um all the way to her >> man got more in the back probably >> that's going to be more in here. There was more. So he took it. >> Check. >> Oh, they already went through all that. >> I don't know. I just started going through it all. They went through this then. They didn't know that, >> dude. None of this paper, I don't think. >> I don't. >> This is legit. >> Yeah. >> What's that? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. I don't want her. >> Yep. >> I'll take her down now. It's fine. The car was full of drugs and drug paraphernalia, including needles. The cops suspected the white powder they found was in Florida. Possessions a serious offense and it can carry up to 15 years in prison. >> All right, Samantha, let's get up. >> Hey, just quick question. >> Did you pay for any of the stuff from Ali's? >> It's not my stuff. >> Okay, cool. I mean, you didn't. >> That's not my stuff. She's good. Then check. >> Hey, listen to me. Was there anything on you we didn't find? >> We're going to go to the jail. You're going to go through I'm going to tell you anyways. [music] You're going to go through a body scanner. If anything's found on you, you're going to get charged. >> Yeah. Well, I'm going to tell you every time. So, [laughter] >> I don't Yeah. Yeah. It's on. >> When I was searching her, especially like here, she was getting really twitchy. So, just >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah, I'll let them know. >> Uh, okay. Yeah, I'll take note. Let me find out real quick. >> Hey, real quick. The purse. Is that going with her or is that keeping it? >> Okay, got you. All right. >> The officer talked to the innocent bystander whose vehicle Samantha had crashed into. The driver was given a case number from the sheriff's office, but the officer couldn't give her any owner information as Samantha's vehicle wasn't registered. >> You could take pictures of this vehicle if you haven't already. >> Um, and just yeah, let your insurance company know and and then no work from there. >> You're all set. He goes, "Bless." She goes, "You're all set." Right, buddy? He has uninsured motors. You're all set. >> Perfect. Yeah. Unfortunately, you know, because now you're going to have to go up for her, it'll have to be several weeks in court. Um but and but I'm going to be charging her criminally in addition to everything else. She's going to be charged with um hit and run, which is a misdemeanor in the state of Florida. >> Thank you, sir. >> Well, she's going to be held accountable. So again, thank you guys for being patient. Okay. I wish you guys a better day. >> All right. >> All right. Hey, you have an interesting story and it's not your friend. So, >> all righty. Have a good one. They charged Samantha with two counts of resisting arrest, trafficking and methamine illegally possessing prescription drugs, cocaine and possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with driving on a suspended hit didn't run with damage and driving an unregistered vehicle. In court, she plead not guilty to all charges. On November 27th, 2022, a father-son duo helped police capture a suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Lewis Greenberg, Jr. He'd overturned his truck, and took off running into the woods. When state police arrived, they heard a gunshot and screaming coming from the woods. Y'all, give me radio shots. Shots fired up. Get your face on the ground. >> Hey man, >> kind of hurt me. >> I'm going to hurt you. Put your hand behind your back. >> Oh, I'm trying. I will. My hand hurt you head of my soul. >> What's your name? >> What's your name? >> I'm following boy. >> It turned out the screaming was coming from Lewis. After running off, he trespassed onto private property and was at the mercy of the homeowner who had a rifle in his hand. Out of all the places he could have run, Lewis had stumbled into perhaps the worst place possible because this guy was not messing around. >> Man, I'm concerned. I just saved your life. >> Can't take my life, man. >> Get your name, please. Okay, >> I got you, man. What's your name? >> Okay. >> You got any? >> Hold on. Right shoulder. >> That's probably No. No. Because you did it. >> I'm going to turn you on your stomach. >> Come on. Get up. >> Hold on, man. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> What's your name? I know you. >> Hold on, man. My shoulders. >> What's your name? >> Oh, my shoulder. We can get out to the fire truck. >> I'll tell you something. I would man your right shoulder. I'm grabbing your >> my left shoulder. That's the one I met. >> Okay, man. >> The officer said he recognized Lewis. Undoubtedly, it wasn't his first encounter with the law. After handcuffing him, the cop returned to the crash site to inspect the truck Lewis had totaled. >> Good. That 28 on vehicle one is going to be Zulu 266 251 Z 266 251 red pickup 47 region 3. What is that? 28 return two like a white 94 Chevy pickup truck at arrival. >> While the officer inspected the smashed up vehicle, EMS was called to the scene to inspect the man's shoulder. When the officer tried to restrain him but put the handcuffs on him, it looks like his shoulder popped out. I had not >> I'll take your shirt. Okay. your shirt off without Hey, let me explain something to you. >> You don't have a choice about what anything right now. You understand? >> I know that. I know that. Lewis was carrying a little black box and inside it the cops found three bags of during all that commotion he also dropped another box and inside that one there was meine syringes and a digital scale with residue. >> What happened? My son lives in this house. >> Yes sir. >> This is my property. >> He flipped his truck right there. My wife seen it. I come down here to get first aid untrained first respondent. >> Got down there and helped him out with his gas and all in the truck >> and he got out, jumped his fence, told him to sit down. He hit his head, jumped the fence and head toward my house. My daughter's in it right now. >> While Lewis was headed to the hospital, the officer asked the two helpful bystanders to fill out witness reports. So me and my grandson, he jumped in that side and I saw him coming up through the woods, took up there and I went to holler and stop, stop. He kept running and I fired a shot in there. He wheeled around and said, "I ain't armed." I said, "I am. Stop." And I got to and told him to lay down. That's when the little altercation. >> What I need from you statements. Take a breath. Catch a breath. I write down everything that happened for him. I know you just told him just so I got it in writing. >> Good job. Yes, sir. >> All right. I don't want that son up in my grandkids and on my place. >> I don't blame you. I don't blame you. I'm going to follow in the hospital. He's probably going to be Yeah. on drug and then uh unfortunately he'll probably stay in the hospital cuz his shoulder broke. >> Yeah. I hurt your father. >> Do what? >> I don't. >> Well, he kept telling me don't touch my right arm and I grab left arm. >> Yeah. Survive that. with the calves crushed all the way down. >> I didn't want to put my hands on his skin. I seen that blood. So, I just grabbed by his shirt down on the belly. I was trying to make him lay flat. >> The cops determined that when he veered off the road, he was driving on a suspended license. At the hospital, the officers questioned him further and found out that he'd taken me huh and had it dozed off while driving. Still though, Lewis insisted that he hadn't taken anything. >> You gave you gave your blood sample, so it's not a refusal. Okay. >> Okay. >> You made comments saying I take you as me what drugs I did. I was telling what drugs I do. What drugs I was on. I wasn't telling you I was loaded or I was on drugs. I was I thought you asked me what drugs have I done. What drugs do I do? Lewis faced charges for DWI, careless operation, failing to report an accident, and possession of a long list of drugs, including me. On top of that, he was also charged with driving while suspended and switching the plates on his vehicle. On the 1st of October, 2021, the cops responded to reports of a battery at Sam's Club. After one shopper bumped into another accidentally, there was absolute chaos. The shopper, later identified as Freya, became enraged and attacked the woman. And the reason for it was downright petty. >> I have her because she [laughter] gets your back. You guys have me on that shoulder. Don't push me over. >> How hard is that? Stupid mother. >> I get hit in the store, you arrest me because somebody smacked me. >> After hitting the unsuspecting woman, Freya fled the store, but not before warning her victim that she'd be waiting outside. The cops were already on their way, and before Freya could go anywhere, a brave citizen pinned her down till the cops arrived. Is >> that officer? >> Yay. >> Bizarrely, Freya's sister-in-law said that she wanted to press charges against the Good Samaritan. She said the bystander wasn't allowed to touch Freya since she wasn't law enforcement. >> Sir, I need her name. >> Central everything. >> We can't give you her name. Who are you? >> Who are you? >> Um, >> what's your involvement? >> I'm the sister-in-law. >> Are you her sister-in-law? You don't know her name? >> Freya. >> She wants my name. >> Oh, your name? >> I want her name. >> No, we can't. We can't do that. If you want them. >> Yeah, because I want to press charges. >> For what? >> For her touching her. She is not a law enforcement. >> Just back up for me. >> Samaritan. >> Okay. And I still want her name. >> No. No. >> You can get a copy of the report. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Your name better be in it. That's all I've got to say about that. I don't care. San Diego. >> All right. So, do me a favor. >> Near Charlotte. >> We're conducting an investigation right now. So, do me a favor. Just go away. In Charlotte County, citizens arrest are legal if there are reasonable grounds to believe a crime was committed. In this case, there was no doubt. Multiple witnesses had seen it unfold and there was security footage to back it up. >> All right, you tell me. What do you want me to do for you? >> Uh, we need to talk to >> I'll go inside and get the statement from them. >> Okay. >> Who she hit. >> All right. >> So, >> let me go uh start talking to them inside. Okay. lady right here. >> Lady here at signal. >> All right. Hi. >> So, tell me a little bit what happened. >> We're by the bread aisle. She stand next to the bread. >> Uhhuh. >> I waited for her to move, >> right? >> She went around. She moved and went around the corner. I grabbed my bed and bread and went around the corner and she started screaming at me. You should have said, "Excuse me, da." And then walked right up to me and attacked me. And these witnesses, trust me, and they have cameras. >> Okay. >> And when she slapped me, I pushed her back. >> Gotcha. So you said, "Excuse me." And then she when she when you say she attacked you, >> but I didn't say excuse. >> She said you should she said you should have said excuse. >> Oh, you should have said okay. >> And then she and then she slapped her in the face. >> She slapped you. >> Yeah. See? >> Okay. Do you need an ambulance? We're going to grab pictures of you and all that. >> Yeah. >> Um Okay. Can you hang tight here? >> Yeah. >> Uh let me let me go grab a camera and a couple things so I can get a statement from you. >> I I will. >> She's she's going to jail anyways. She battered an officer. So >> Oh my god. >> So just hang tight and I'll be right back. Okay. >> Okay. >> The officer then spoke with the shopper Freya attacked. Allegedly. Freya lunged at the woman and the reason was that she hadn't said excuse me in the bread aisle. To say the woman overreacted would be an understatement. >> So go ahead it from the beginning. >> I was standing at the bread aisle >> and I was waiting for this person to move >> because she was talking with her family and she moved. >> And that's the female sub, right? >> Yes. Okay. >> And I went and got my bread, put it in my cart and I started down the next aisle. Before I got to the next aisle. >> Okay. She came charging at me, screaming. You could have said, "Excuse me. What What's wrong with you?" >> Right. >> And I said, "I waited for you to move." >> Mhm. >> And she's like, then she got into my face. She goes, "I'm going to teach you a lesson." And that's She slapped me across the face. >> And she slapped you like this. Yes. >> On your on your left. >> Yes. >> On your left cheek. Correct. >> Yes. My left cheek. And I >> And then And then I push >> Is that your husband? >> No. No. >> Just do me a favor. >> Yeah. I'm doing a recorded interview with her. >> The one to jump in the middle. >> Okay. >> I actually Do you mind providing one? >> Uh, it to her. >> Yes. >> Okay. Yeah. Just do me a favor. Let me finish up with her cuz I can't interrupt it. But >> All right. >> And then I then I pushed cuz she wanted to hit me again and I pushed her away from me. >> Okay. >> You know, and that's when that gentleman came into the play. >> Now, are you wanting to pursue charges against her for the battery? >> I did. Yes, I did. >> Okay. All right. >> Have you met this lady before? Never. Just >> a total stranger. >> The woman told the officer that she wanted to press charges against Freya. To document the assault, he took photos of her face, which was still read from the slab. Another man had also seen the incident unfold and said he jumped in the fray to stop things from escalating. >> You saw the the >> I stopped it completely. Yes. >> Okay. >> I'm the one that jumped. Come here. >> Yeah. >> All right. Yeah, you can show them from here. That's fine. >> Um, so you're going to have we're going to have battery on her. >> Okay. >> So, sorry. You were doing a statement. >> I'm going inside to get a picture. >> Um, >> they have everything on video. >> Yeah. Yeah, we we'll get it. Um, okay. So, you you were pushing your your your car. >> He's pushing my cart. The next thing that I noticed was I was right. Actually, I was right about here from her and I was walking. The girl came. She was with another lady. >> Right. >> She was with another lady. She ran at her and says something about, "Excuse me." >> So she said, "You've got to say, "Excuse me." I don't know what she said. The next thing I know, you heard it from all over the >> Did you see that? >> Yes. >> The slap. >> Yeah. The sound of being a little slap. >> Yeah. I seen exactly what happened. and that's when I jumped in the middle. >> Even though Freya was under arrest and had been taken to the station, the woman still feared she might turn up at her house after being released. The cops, however, were quick to reassure the woman that they wouldn't be sharing her details. And if Freya turned up at her house, she'd have every right to defend herself or call the police. >> For your information is it's going to be redacted. Okay? So, don't worry about that. We'll make >> I'm just saying is that >> she comes to the house. Mhm. >> No, no, no. She she won't be able to get information. So, she can't get there. But if you guys show up, you do what you have to do to protect yourself. Please give us opportunity coming out first. But at any point, >> I have a big dog. >> Yeah. Right. But if she comes into your house, then you do whatever you got to do. >> Freya was charged with one count of battery on the woman, one count of battery on an officer, and one count of resisting arrest without violence. On April 12th, 2022, a good Samaritan stepped in and stopped a shoplifter in his tracks. The bystander was carrying pepper spray, which he aimed right at the suspect just before he fled the store. By the time the cops showed up, our shoplifter was making his way down the street with a backpack full of stolen goods. And spoiler alert, he didn't get far. >> Hey, what's up, dude? >> Turn take your backpack off. Take your backpack off. >> Take your backpack off. >> Yeah, we have one. >> Hold on, man. >> Shannon, you available. >> What? >> Hey, guess what? >> Thank you for cooperating. >> Just chill here for a few minutes. We'll figure it all out. Okay. You know what I'm saying? >> Come over there, man. >> Stand on the sidewalk with the wind in your face. The wind's on the sidewalk, too. >> There you go. >> He was swiftly placed in handcuffs and surprisingly gave little resistance and cooperated. There was no protesting or shouting, almost like he expected to be caught. And while he was compliant, he was acting really strange. >> Wall weapon. >> Whatever makes you more comfortable, sir. How's the win? >> What? >> Hey, guess what? >> Thank you for >> here. We'll figure it all out. Okay. >> We said your last name was something where you unceremoniously decided to leave. >> Oh, great word. >> Fantastic vocabulary. >> Last name. >> How you feeling today? Do you need an ambulance? Is everything going okay? All right. Just want to make sure that you are okay. >> Wonder swollen, huh? >> You know, >> are you are you doing okay? If if you would like to sit down, I could help you sit down. I'm not encouraging you to do anything, though. >> Are you all right? >> He appeared to be out of breath and was rocking back and forth like he might faint at any minute. But when the cops offered to call an ambulance, the man declined. But his condition was about to get worse. walking back and forth >> here. Just lean against the wall. Relax. I'm trying to catch you. >> Whatever you want to do. >> Whatever makes you more comfortable, sir. previous Shannon. >> Cool. Wait, what? What? What can I do to help you? >> Just lean and relax. >> Lean with it. Rock with it. Huh? >> Oh, yeah. That's a nasty. That's just nasty. >> Are you doing okay? >> Do you need an ambulance? >> Okay. >> All right. >> Just take them all out. >> Yeah. I mean, just >> you guys put in my backpack. >> You want me to put it in your backpack? We can empty your belongings in your backpack. >> All right. Here's the thing. >> I don't know what all this stuff is. Oh, we took the backpack. Okay. >> We're going to be grabbing this stuff. Okay. >> Yeah. I don't know. >> What do you want to do? What? What is this, sir? >> Oh, for your girl. >> The suspect's pants fell down, and he kept staggering in the road before getting sick. At that point, he was probably reconsidering the ambulance. The officer searched his backpack and found makeup, which he said was for his girlfriend. While he continued acting strangely in the street, one of the cops went to the store to figure out exactly what went down. >> Jordan's handling. Long story short, he'll give up. Guy comes in here, guys makeup. >> They're like, "Hey, stop, stop, stop, and tries to come out." Some good Samaritan walking by tried to stop him. Sounds like a good Samaritan sprays pepper spray on the dude. Spray in here. No one in here is injured. They don't know if he got away with anything. They're looking at video, which is where I think Jordan is. We have guy detained around the corner on Shannon. Medics are looking ahead. >> And good Samaritan >> gone. The bystander saw what was happening and pepper-sprayed the shoplifter, but the cops didn't get to speak to him because right after the incident, he left the store. Luckily though, it had all been caught on security camera >> being burned right now. >> Uh, no. >> Okay. Let me see. >> This is a 586 over a2. >> Is there any available tenderloin out able to respond into the northern by 8222 730? So we out of his pants >> here. Look up. I'm going to listen to your sit up. Adam 104 and I'm sorry which unit was that? Which 100 was that to approve >> headquarters 100? >> 100. >> The paramedics squirted water on his face to clean the residue from the pepper spray. The burning and stinging of pepper spray is often described as unbearable and the symptoms are harsh like shortness of breath and feelings of nausea. You look like you're nodding off. >> No. >> Okay. So, no medical history, no high blood pressure, no diabetes. >> You want to go to the hospital right now? >> No. >> All right. Do you want us to try to rinse your eyes some more? >> No. >> Oh, I don't want to Yeah. >> Get a can. >> Get a nasal canulas. Yes. >> Go ahead. Keep your head up. >> The man's strange behavior had the paramedics asking if he'd taken any drugs that day. And while the man denied it, one of the medics stated that it looked like he was on the knot, as in nodding in and out of consciousness, which is usually a sign of heavy painkillers and also opiates. >> You look straight up. The the water's going to drip into your eyes and it's going to wash out it's going to it's going to wash out your eyes. >> He looks like he's on the kne but he's >> saying the cup. >> What did he say? >> I can't hear you. My clothes dry. >> What? >> What did you say? >> My clothes. My shirt. >> No, it's not. We have this little poncho on you. >> Yeah, we got we got this poncho. Okay. Sorry. I mean, you can tell me to stop. I'm just trying to make your eyes feel better. >> You want Do you want him to stop or you want to continue? >> You can wrap the chucks around his neck like a barber. Trying to make it a little tighter. If I get this check right here only for the No, there four doors. >> Yeah. >> Okay, cool. You you said no hostile, right? Edward >> at this point. You're just detained until we can figure out what's going on >> that just occurred. >> All right. So, you just get your eyes taken care of. >> The man got a shoplifting charge and was taken to the hospital for treatment. At the time they arrested him, he was already on parole in San Francisco. When he finally gets to court, it's not going to be in his favor that he was busted for another crime while out on parole. On the 4th of September, 2023, a wannabe gangster was caught hitting his girlfriend in the parking lot of a store. Witnesses called police and when the man was confronted, he became very threatening. Luckily, there was a bystander there to help. And suddenly, he went from being a tough guy to wailing like a baby. >> Hey, are you okay? Hey, wait. Wait. You okay? >> I'm not in here. I told her to get in the car. That's all I told her to do. >> You good? Okay. Wait. No. No. No. She's coming with me. >> Thank you. >> Come this way. >> Trying to get her in the car. That's all I me. >> All right. Hold on. Wait. Did he hit you at all? >> No. >> Okay. He didn't hit you. Okay. So, you're good. You're just verbal. Hey, stay over there. >> Stay over there. No, you stop. >> Get in the car. You want to do this in front of the police? Get in the car. >> You're going to get under arrest. >> Ma'am, you not touching me. >> All right. You're not listening. This is an investigation. >> All right. You going >> get in the car. >> All right. Then you going to You going to go? >> Get in the car. >> You're not going. >> The cop saw a bystander who was watching nearby. She thought she knew the suspect, but he denied it. After struggling to detain the man, she asked the bystander for help. In situations like these, when a citizen steps in, their help can be all the difference. Especially when backup's not there yet. >> Hey, you know him. >> You mean mommy? Give me help. >> I was just I was just looking around. >> Get in the car. >> No. You want some help? >> Yeah. >> Bro, >> come on. >> Yeah, I'm trying. I know. Don't tell me, bro. >> All right. Come on. >> Come on, man. >> Don't resist. That's another charge, bro. >> Huh? >> Let me go, man. You don't have to change. No, because you didn't do anything. He did. >> All right. Can you tell me? >> Yeah, I can help you. >> All right. Come on. Listen. I'm not going to >> Come on. Try. Don't hit no, bro. That's >> I'm trying to Don't tell her. Touch me. >> Batteries, bro. Just relax. Get your stories quick, bro. >> No, man. She going to keep I ain't got time for that. >> No, man. You put me in your walk away. The bystander tried to warn the man that if he resisted, it would only land him in more trouble, but he refused to listen, which made the cop's job more difficult and probably added more charges in addition to domestic violence. He can't touch me. You can't touch me. I didn't do I do I do touching me. >> Okay. Put your hand back. >> [screaming] >> What's wrong? >> Back to get her body back. [groaning] Respect the woman. >> He was >> We were just driving by. He >> were on the floor. >> The kids were crying. >> The bystander explained that he'd seen the suspect hit his girlfriend and knock her to the ground. Sadly, their kids had witnessed the whole thing and were unsurprisingly upset. But by this time, it was the suspect who was crying and he was not so big and threatening anymore. >> Sit up, >> bro. Shut up. >> Back hurt, man. >> My back, man. >> Get up. >> Yeah, it's broken. >> Stay here for you. >> Thank you. >> Because it's noises, [laughter] no nothing here. >> He resisted. >> No, no, no. What did you say? >> This is what I noticed. He was having an altercation. >> So, I saw the kids. So, I don't want the kids cross the street. her >> and I saw come down. >> You saw the You the one who called 911? >> Yes. >> I saw the kid crying. >> Where did he hit her? How do you hit her? >> Did you see him hit her? >> I hit her, man. It's not live, bro. >> All right, we're not talking to you. >> It's not live, bro. >> Do you guys >> relax, man? Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. >> No, cuz he li on the floor. You don't do that to a woman. >> Lots of witnesses saw the suspect hitting his girlfriend and told the cops what they saw. The story's all lined up and there was no way the man was going to wiggle out of this one. >> What did y'all see? Was he Was he out of the car and start beating little out of >> That's right. You see, >> I'm not the only one saying >> I called um there's a lady over there that also called. >> We all called because we all saw and I start doing circles trying to get a tag number. I'm like, "Listen, >> that way." And I turned left when I saw him hit her right on the street right there. The kids was crying. And then I had my concealed out cuz she had me trying to get a plate number and I'm like trying to figure out which street. So I'm like I have my concealed out. >> She's like don't get involved. I'm like I'm not. But I have my one-year-old in the car and he comes at the car. It is what it is. >> Then he attacked the police offic. >> Yeah. He started >> he started. >> Oh okay. What? >> For what? >> For what? >> Nothing, man. I ain't nobody >> Okay, I got three. I actually my daughter in the car with the one >> first time recording it. I like >> she's okay. >> And he hit me while we were trying because he tried to hit the police officer. >> Got you. >> Okay. >> Give me one minute. I'll probably get you each one by one. We're talking. That'll be the end of you guys. Okay. Give me one minute. >> The officer walked the sniveling suspect to the squad car. There was no more carrying on and shouting. And with handcuffs on, he could no longer bully his girlfriend. And now she had the upper hand. He was headed to jail right where he belonged. >> All right, sit in. Say your butt first and then your feet. >> They don't even talk to me, man. >> All right, [snorts] I'm I'm going to talk to you right now. All right, you have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Any statement can be and will be used against you and a quarter law. All right, she's going to take the hospital a little bit and then we'll go from there. All right. >> Thank you for calling. Yeah, I'm fine. Okay. He was calling. >> I'm sorry. We stopped it. >> For what? >> He was >> Oh, no. No. Well, he would have forgiate. >> He was abusing you. He was abusing the other wife. He was at >> He was [laughter] >> No, I was not going to put up with it. >> Well, thank you for your help. >> I when I saw he tried to swing at you, that's when I said this is going to have to be two of us. >> Thank you. The other witness wasn't as cooperative. When the cops asked him questions, he remained silent. The cops also had to talk to the couple's young kids who unfortunately had witnessed the assault. >> You understand you right to you? >> Okay, perfect. Okay. During this event, during this event, >> I'm going to choose to remain silent on that one. >> Huh? >> I'm going to choose to remain silent on that part. >> Okay. >> All right. >> No, no. I'm I'm just asking you about what happened at this event. That's all. >> No, I mean you I'm already meand. >> So once I mer. >> Okay. So you don't you don't want to talk about what happened? I don't want to be. I did what I had to do. I don't want to be part of that. I mean, yeah. >> Okay, perfect. >> So, did you see Kim hit your mom at all? >> Uh-huh. >> What did he do? >> He like pulled her by her hair. And then that's what we had came back. >> So, he pulled her by her hair. He pushed her. Um, did he do anything else that you remember? >> He pushed her on the floor. >> He pushed her on the floor. Okay. Did he do anything else? >> I don't. >> Have you ever seen him do anything like that before? >> Yeah. >> Not. Okay. He's done it. Did your mom never call the police? >> Yeah. One time she did. >> Okay. Um, who is he to you? Is he Is he like >> our stepdad? >> He is your stepdad. >> He's our little He's our baby brother and our baby dad. >> Okay. Do you trust him usually with you? Does he hurt you at all? >> He never hurts you. Just your mom? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Did he hurt you in any way? Has he ever done something like that before? In front of you? He has? >> No. >> Not in front of you. Has he done it before? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> He done it two times. >> Three times. >> His behavior wasn't new to the kids. It was clearly a pattern. The kids recounted the many times that he'd hurt their mother in the past. The officer then spoke with the girlfriend who said the man became abusive to her after finding out she was talking to someone else. >> So he started running, caught me at the light and was like roughly like jacking me up. So then when we got right there, I had fell on the ground and then when I got up, he was choking. >> Basically on any domestic domestic violence issue, what happens is he's going to get arrested for domestic violence. also resisting the police officer pushing both of us. So that's charge for then he's going to get felony in charge for that. He's going to be held no bond just because of battery on LEO. But when he does get out, he's going to have a no contact order with you. He's going to see the judge in the morning. You are not he is not to contact you at any point. If he contacts you, he can get arrested. >> Two days later, the cops were still investigating the incident. The female officer visited two of the witnesses homes. She talked to them in detail, trying to piece together what exactly had happened that night. >> The two of them still were arguing and screaming. He had his hands around her neck. He kept punching her like in the face. She just kept saying, "Get away from me." He just had a hold of her and he was just like, you could just see his arm going back and forth. >> Do you want to pursue criminal charges for I just have to ask, do you pursue criminal charges for him hitting you about against you? >> Okay. So, the things that he was doing to her? Um, did you see anything other than punching or like >> punching pulling her on the floor, uh, grab her by the by the shirt, uh, try to put her clothes off? I'd like to see him in jail for 27 years minimum. >> They arrested the suspect and he was charged with resisting arrest, domestic violence, and battery on law enforcement. The last charge is a felony, carrying very severe penalties for anyone convicted. From petty thieves to hardened criminals, these people found out the hard way that it's not always a person in uniform who's handing out justice. It can also come from these very brave bystanders who take the law into their own hands. You might
