So, you want me to go to the next step? >> Turn around. Hands behind your back. Hands behind your back. >> Hands behind your back, bro. >> Turn around. You >> crack yourself. You crack yourself. >> Lock me up. When I get out of jail, your wife, >> you can't help me. You think you're protecting this, sir? That's your job. That is your job. >> Yeah, I'm protecting everybody's lives. We check the plugs and that's it. We're not arguing anymore. >> Just like having a driver's license, having a boating license is a privilege and not a right. But still, there are lots of Boers out there who think they can do whatever they want when the cops aren't looking. But just because you think they're not looking doesn't mean they're not. And if they're caught breaking the law, these entitled boat owners get quickly humbled by the police. Back up or you going with her? >> Back up or you're going with her. >> Back up or you going with her? >> You got control of all this. >> On June 18th, 2023, an officer pulled a boater over on suspicion of BUI or boating under the influence. At first, it was a textbook stop, but then everything changed when the man's family jumped in. >> Come here. Come here. Hey, you come here. Can you safely pull up here and tie up? >> All right, come here. How y'all doing? Can you safely pull up here? >> I'm trying to bring it in there. >> All right. >> All right. All right. >> No, I ain't laughing at you. I just don't want you to hurt yourself. Somebody else. It's your boat. Your boat? Yes, sir. >> Okay. Can you get the registration while you're looking for that rope? >> $890. >> I had wrote you no tickets yet. I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know. You have your ID with you also. >> I got >> If you don't mind, let's walk up here. >> You've been drinking today, right? >> I can't tell you how much I had to drink because it's irrelevant. >> Well, that was a strange answer. How much you've had to drink before operating a boat is absolutely a relevant question. The officer then took his pen out and asked the suspect, using only his eyes, to follow the tip of it. Still thinking the man was intoxicated, he asked the man if he was willing to do more field sobriety tests. >> I already went through a DUI. >> Well, this is not DUI. This would be BUI if you're under the influence. I have to advise you that if you do not take the field soiety exercises that can be used against you in court. Do you understand that? >> It's not a pass or fail. What I was checking is what they call horizontal gaze to stack. It's involuntary jerking of your eyeball. Your eye should track as it follows an object like rolling a marble across a piece of glass. Your eyes are twitching. The more they twitch, as soon as they start to track, the higher impairment you are. >> Okay. There's a total of six clues. You have all six clues in your eyes. >> You see them? >> Yeah, I saw them. >> I'm going to get arrested. They should get arrested and get it all. >> Okay. So, you're refusing to take the field. >> Well, I'm asking you to take the remaining fuel spotty exercises to dispel my belief. >> But if I'm going to get arrested, >> I haven't made that decision yet. I wasn't driving. >> The cop was certain he saw the man driving the boat, and it was clearly caught on camera. The man finally agreed to more sobriety tests, but not before his wife intervened in the cop's investigation. >> Donna, back stand over there. >> You can record all you want, but you're not going to interfere. Donna, back up to Mazda. Please >> just back up. >> As far as I know, >> I'm going to put you in jail if you don't back up. Listen to me. Simple as that. Stop making worse. >> I'm agreeing. >> You can h all you want. >> Back up and stop interfering. >> Damn it. I shouldn't have done this. >> I'm so sorry. >> See if the city or the countyy's got somebody. >> Is there somebody that hadn't been drinking that can get her out of the way and stop interfering? Cuz I'm going to have to put her in jail and she don't stop. >> And it's going to be bad if you go to jail and she goes to jail, too. >> Yeah. We'll be like, "What's up?" >> Yeah. Well, that's not going to be fun. But if she interferes again, she's going to jail. >> I just told her back. >> Okay. Well, you did and now you're upset that she's interfering. So, she's interfering. I'm trying to determine whether you're an apparent operator. And if she comes over here again, you can express to her that she's going to be arrested. >> While the suspect laughed it off, the cop here was dead serious. And if the woman interfered again, she might be heading to the jail house. After giving them both a final warning, they picked up where they left off in the field sobriety test. >> Well, you're left. You're right. >> Okay, relax. Well, go ahead and begin. >> Wait. One, two, one, two, one, two. >> Okay, relax. >> One, two, three, four. Wait till I 1 2 3 4 5 6 5. Then we go. All right, stand up for me. Have any knives, guns, hang on. >> No, I just put you in my email. >> Can I have your name, please? So, we can go ahead and >> Christmas. >> Christmas. Okay. So, stop interfering because you're interfering now. >> Is there a reason for him, sir? >> He's not. He's under arrest. >> For what? >> Back up or you're going to jail with him. >> Put me in jail. No, please. Please don't do it. Please, I'll be here with you. I'm not going to run. I won't run for >> next. It was the man's niece who lost her temper. And like Joanna, as she was interfering with the investigation, she was also in danger of committing obstruction. And while the cop gave her a few more warnings, she continued berating him and telling him off. >> You're under arrest. You're under arrest. >> Don't do it, please. >> You're under arrest. Come here. Come here. You're under arrest. >> You're under arrest. Come over here. Put your hands on a car. >> I'm with you. I'm with you. Don't do it. Don't do it. >> Back up or you're going with her. >> Back up or you're going with her. >> I'm with you. >> Back up or you're going with her. >> You got control of all this. Christmas. You got control. I'm with you. I'm with you. Christmas. I'm with you. Christmas. I'm with you. You interfere again, you're going with her. >> Amidst all the commotion, instead of trying to calm everyone down, Joanna decided to jump right in. If this continued, the entire family might end up in jail. And spoiler alert, the man's family had no plans of stopping or cooperating with the officer's orders. >> You're under arrest. >> You're under me. Don't hit me. Oh my god. Don't >> put your hand behind your back. >> What the hell wrong with you, man? Oh my goodness. What the hell is wrong? >> Put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest. >> Oh my goodness. What the hell is wrong with >> I don't have a second set of cups. >> Please. [Music] >> Come on. Please. >> You got a second set of cups. >> Please. Christmas. I'm here. >> What the hell is wrong with me? >> Back up. >> Well, then stop. on my head. I obeyed all your rules. >> Nobody had done anything to do. >> What the hell is wrong with you? >> It looked like the family wanted to do things the hard way. And if they all wanted to go to jail, the cops here would be more than happy to oblige. The suspects loudly complained about their treatment, saying they'd done nothing wrong and that the cops had no right to put them in handcuffs. >> Nobody was even near you. >> Exactly. >> Here's her. recorded. Joanna, don't >> I don't have ID on her. >> Don't have ID on her. >> Nobody was near you. Nobody even resisted. >> Don't hit me. >> Nobody even touched you. Nobody said nothing with free and I sprayed one. >> Let's put her in your car foot. >> Let me get him. >> Let me get him. Put him in my truck. >> Fire rescue. What the is that? I'm just asking. >> I tell you what, hold her and I'll get my truck open where you can. >> You don't have to squeeze me hard. I ain't going I ain't going nowhere. >> I got pushed around. I was with you. >> Listen, man. Cuz your family's trying to jump on the dang police. >> We didn't realize we're in so much trouble. We would have gone faster. >> They backed up and they stopped. But once I arrested him, that's when they came back up again. >> I'm sorry. I don't have enough to be with you. Okay. Just have a seat right there. >> Okay. I'm trying to get up there, bro. >> So, we got her for resisting. >> Yeah. And her resisting. >> Okay. >> We got to talk to you. I talk to you a minute. Let me get in the truck. I can get you some ACLU. >> While the women continued claiming wrongful arrest, the cop took a moment to put them in their place and teach them a lesson on how the law works. The women were in handcuffs due to their own actions. And it wasn't the officer's fault. >> I need to find out who I can let that boat go to that they're all in that hadn't been drinking. And this one and this one's going to jail. I need their names and stuff and I'll do the dockets on. Okay. >> Resisting and opposing. >> No, we weren't. >> Okay. Go to court. You'll have to go to court. I've been in law enforcement 38 years. Yes, you were. >> I was not. >> And she's going to be as an attorney or whatever and tell me what I can and can't do. That's not going to happen. You're not going to interfere. Both of y'all were interfering. >> No, honey. We were not inter. >> Okay. Well, I disagree with you. We'll see what a jury or judge thinks. Okay. >> We were. You told us to get away and we did. >> He's not. He's under arrest. >> Back up or you're going to jail with him. >> Put me in jail. >> There was some good news, however. Not everybody in this family was uncooperative with law enforcement. The suspect's brother was nearby, was stone cold sober, and cooperated with them in getting the boat home while his family went to jail. >> Who are these other people? Who are these other people? >> Stupid. >> Who are they? >> Idiots. >> Are they your wife? Your daughters? What? Let them go. >> Let them go. >> They're your nieces. They're your nieces. These are the one sister. Let them go. >> Okay. Do they have ID with them? >> Yes, they do. >> Where's their ID? >> Yeah. I don't know what they're going to put together. >> Okay. Just relax, man. Okay. Relax. >> I will. I will. >> Did y'all see what was going on? >> Did you see the girls come up trying to interfere? >> Christmas. Father Christmas. >> Yeah. Something like that. >> Yes. You seen Grass? Uh, >> well, I'm sorry y'all had to witness all that. >> Thank you for doing your job. >> Okay. Okay. Thank you. They charged the man with boating under the influence and the wife and niece got charged with resisting an officer without violence. On March 16th, 2023 in Martin County, Florida, the sheriff's office was on marine patrol when they noticed a woman pouring drinks for a minor. As a result, he questioned the woman, but as is often the case, she decided she didn't want to cooperate. >> How old are you? >> 25. >> You're 25. How old are those three girls? >> I don't know. I just hopped out with >> How How old do you think they are? >> I'm younger than 21. >> Okay, then why would you pour them a cocktail? >> You actually did. You You poured it into the green solo cup and then No, you poured it into the green solo cup and then you handed it to the girl in the black bikini. I watched the entire time. Why would you do that? >> I did not do that. >> Okay. Why would you do that? >> Who's holding it? Okay. It's in the cup holder when they saw me spin around. So, my question to you again is, I watched you pour from the Tito's bottle into the green solo cup. Hold >> in the cup. >> Hold the green solo cup, but you hand it to the girl in the black. Why would you do that? >> I did not pour it. >> Yes, you did. Why would you do that? >> I only poured the >> No, you didn't. No, you didn't. The cop told the suspect, Maggie, to get her ID and informed the woman she was under arrest for supplying alcohol to a minor. However, the entire altercation was witnessed by her family and friends, and they disputed the officer's claims that the girl she gave alcohol to was underage. >> Young lady in the black, how old are you? Yes. There we go. She's 15. If she doesn't come over here within the next 30 seconds, I'm putting her in jail. >> Hurry up. >> No, we're done. >> No, no, no, >> no, no, no. I'm done. >> Excuse me. >> Come on, dude. You have to wear my freaking >> sure I can. Come on. Let's go. Come on. >> Come on. >> Come on. >> Come on. >> Can I just get my ID? >> I'm not your real >> Can I just give you serious? You can't get the girl a few minutes to get her ID. Dude, >> I have it. >> The cop gave the woman plenty of time to retrieve her ID. No one said being a cop makes you popular. And this right here was a prime example. While they all disapproved, the cop pushed through and did his job, putting Maggie in handcuffs. >> Push her. >> Step up. >> Wait. Where's the >> Excuse me. >> You're under arrest now, too. Yes, I am. No, you're down, too. Let's go. >> What the are you doing right now, sir? Please stop. >> Please stop. >> Can you let me show you my ID? >> I'm telling you right now, >> you are under arrest also. >> Stop. >> Please stop. I swear to God. Please stop. >> I you. Sadly for the other suspect, Jessica, snatching the purse from the officer and then resisting arrest was incredibly dumb and she'd have to face the consequences. While the group surrounded them, hurling insults at the officer, he brought them both onto the boat and prepared to take them to jail. >> Go up, >> female officer right now. Right now. Don't touch her. >> All the way over. All the way over. >> All the way over. Call your captain, bro. I'm a woman. >> All the way back to the front. >> All the way to the back of the boat. >> Sit. >> Get off. >> Get off. >> I'm going call 911 right now. >> Go ahead. >> I am. Call your captain right now. >> I don't have a captain. >> Yeah, you do. >> No, I don't. >> Yeah, you do. >> Come on, bro. What are you doing, bro? >> Because I can. >> I did. Why? >> I did. >> Stop. Stop. Why you grab >> the captain right now, bro? The crowd was getting unruly and the cop wanted to put some distance between himself and their growing tempers. Once he was out of earshot, he turned to the suspects and informed them both why they were under arrest. >> You're under arrest for for interference. >> Okay. You're under arrest for providing alcohol to a minor and resisting arrest. >> And you're also under arrest for resisting arrest. >> I'm sorry. >> And escape cuz when I put you on the boat, you jumped off and tried to hide. I just have a question for you though. >> Sure. >> What did she do in the first place? >> She provided alcohol to a minor. >> But I didn't. >> You did. >> I'm not going to This isn't an argument for you. >> Have that on camera. >> Sir, this night I I'm How are you going to prove that? >> What do you mean? I watched you do it. >> I did not even >> adopting a kid. I knew that you were doing this, too. >> Okay. But I didn't do it. I swear I >> You when I took her when I took her off the boat, you pulled that from me and then snatched from me. So that doesn't work. That's the end of the day. >> You're right. >> Okay. >> Jessica admitted that she had no idea why Maggie was being arrested in the first place. Yet, she took it upon herself to take a very firm stance in Maggie's defense. Perhaps if she listened to the officer when he explained why she was being arrested, she wouldn't have gotten involved in the first place. Still, both women continued playing the victim. >> When I tell you that you're under arrest and I and I put handcuffs on you, you don't get to keep pulling away. You don't get to keep fighting me. You don't get to do that. >> Well, I've never been under arrest, so I don't know. >> Well, what do you think would happen when handcuffs are put on you? Does that mean Does that mean that I get to go play and run around? >> Talk one second. >> No, you asked me to get my ID. >> Yes. I was getting you my ID and then you came over to the boat >> and let me provide you my ID. >> You were given ample opportunity to get it. You decided that you were going to argue with everyone there and try to plead your case. So, here's the deal. So, you're under arrest here. This is the end of the problem. All right. As soon as my partner gets over here, I'm going to get life jackets on you and we're going to the gym. >> Okay. >> Okay. Everybody understands that? >> Okay. >> I'm literally a trauma IU nurse. Like, really? >> Then you know better, don't you? You know better than to come snatching stuff from a cop and then try to pull away from him and then jump off a boat after he's put you in custody and tells you to sit down. Don't you? >> Yes. >> Yeah. That's what I thought. >> Can I ask you one question? >> Sure. Yeah, the camera is on this, right? >> No, >> the camera's on me. >> So, >> turn around. Turn around. See, this is again, this is again, we don't listen. We don't listen to instructions. We don't do what we're supposed to do. And lo and behold, here we are arrested again. >> I understand what you're saying, >> but the videos, >> I never said anybody under the age of 21 years old a drink. >> Actually, you did. >> That's okay. >> I'm going to take this off your head real quick. Sir, >> I'm not getting involved right now. I just need you to sit on the floor. That way, we can get back safely. >> While the officer put them in life vests and explained the finer points of the law to them like they were children, a patrol boat headed over to talk to their family and friends and catch them up on what had happened. After a very quick boat ride, they arrived back at the shore and were transported to jail. Ladies, these two gentlemen are here to transport you only. I have no vested interest in this case and see who does. All right. Don't give them a hard time. [Music] We're going to go down with these cars. >> How come they're not getting >> I don't know. Come on. literally like in the middle of adopting a child. I have no idea how to trauma. He's so mean. Like what is he doing right now? Help >> him. I'll help you. >> I'll turn the AC up for you guys. >> Maggie was charged with obstruction without violence and giving alcohol to a person under the age of 21. Jessica was charged with obstruction without violence. On July 27th, 2023 in Florida, fish and wildlife officers were patrolling Peanut Island when they saw a jet ski speeding in a posted slow speed zone. And to make matters worse, there were kids swimming nearby. >> Come on over. Hey. So, the reason we're stopping just this is all slow speeds. Z go too fast in the air. So, that's the reason for the stop. >> Hey, hey, don't don't start off like that. Hey, hey, hey, hey. >> Hey, hey, listen. I'm not. >> It's okay. That's fine. First time for everything. I need your license and registration. >> I need your I need your car. Calm down. >> I need your I need your license and registration. I need your license and registration. >> Okay. Wait. I'm not being mad. I'm not >> Okay. So, no no listen. I just need your license and registration. [Music] >> There was no need to get worked up as the man wasn't being arrested or even detained. The cop just wanted his registration so he could write him a ticket. All he had to do was cooperate for 5 minutes and then go back to enjoying his day with family and friends. But somehow this guy had other ideas. >> Leave him alone now. >> Come here. >> Leave him alone. I drove that way and he came back. >> That's fine. That's fine. That's fine. Listen. Listen. Okay. So, all right. >> So, it doesn't matter if you used it for 2 seconds or 5 seconds or a minute or an hour. This whole section, this whole section right here is a slow speed zone because I want you to turn around. I want you No, no, no. Listen, listen. Okay. I got turn around. You see the kids? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> You see the kids? >> So, I don't care if it was 2 seconds. I don't care if it was 2 minutes. You can't go fast. >> I didn't realize I was going that fast. >> That's fine. You don't have to realize, but you were doing it. If you don't if this was your first time operating, >> then you should have talked to somebody before you got on it. >> He told me so. He just he just said not to do it. >> He just told you he he said not to do that. >> He told me beware of y'all. He told me beware. >> That's right. But why? Why do you think he told you that? Okay. So now, now that we're here, I need you to get your license and I need to get your registration. >> I don't have my wallet on me right now. >> Okay. >> It's way >> that's way over there. That's fine. You got a name and date of birth, right? >> Yeah. >> All right. Cool. >> At this point, the officer was being more than cordial. He laid everything out beautifully, and to any reasonable person, his position was sound. At first, the man agreed to give the officer his name and date of birth. But when he learned it was for a ticket, he backed out. >> Oh my god. might kill a chest. Shut. >> So, so this is your first time. I'm assuming you can never take Do you have the registration for that? I got on my phone. >> You got to have that. >> Got to go. >> So, you don't have a voter ID, right? >> I just want to have fun. >> Wasn't rowdy. >> Look at you. >> This [ __ ] relaxing. >> Relax. I've been chilling. You be You been slapping on me. Because you turned up. You turned up. Don't say nothing else. When Just answer them when when they ask you a question. Listen, when they ask you a question, just answer them. >> Look, I'm talking to y'all. I ain't talking to neither one of y'all. I talking to neither one of y'all. I'm talking to him. He my daughters right here. You feel me? Head my dog. >> See, you see you being too You doing too much. He cool with me. You >> I listen. I I want you to have fun. Okay. I want you to have fun. We're going to have a different conversation in a second. >> I'm I'm chilling. >> We're going to have a different conversation in a second. The cop and the suspect went back to smiling, laughing, and having a cordial conversation. And at one point, it seemed like the man was actually going to chill. Remember, the cop just wanted to give him a ticket. So, it wasn't the end of the world. >> I got a question. Okay. You just pulled out of your driveway, right? There's a stop sign and you run it. You just got out of your driveway. You expect not to get that ticket? >> Yep. >> Oh, okay. >> I expect not to get a ticket. >> That's fine. That's fine. I expect that because you got to realize if because look if you ran my record you be like oh this dude he don't got nothing on his record. >> That's fine. >> Oh I'mma let him slide. I'mma let him slide with him. >> All right. So here we go. How about we do this? So you run that stop sign but there's a guy or a child on a bike. >> But it wasn't no child. >> There wasn't a child on that boat right there. >> Nope. >> Okay. I want you to stand right where your friend is and look right there with that yellow. Say no. No. No. No. It might have been. Okay. It might have been. Okay. It might have been. Thank you. >> It might have been. And then and then and then when you're coming in, you don't see kids and everybody else here, right? >> But was I gunning it though? I wasn't gunning. >> Going fast enough. >> You have to understand but but you have to understand this too. You're on a you're on a motorcycle. You're on a motorcycle. That's what it is. A motorcycle on the water with no brakes. >> No brakes. That's what you're on. >> So you can't stop if you even do see something. >> The man denied he was going that fast and said the cop was exaggerating his actual speed. He pointed out a jet ski in the distance that was moving quickly. But as the cop pointed out, he was in trouble for speeding in a low-speed zone. And with that rebuttal, the suspect lost his temper. >> Why you not put him over? >> Because he's he's allowed to do it there. >> Get out there. >> You were here. >> You can't do it in here. >> You were next to the dock. >> Is he wearing a ticket right now? >> Yeah, we're riding your ticket. >> Cuz I don't care. I don't care anymore. I don't care anymore. >> All right. >> Don't do that because now it's going to go into something else. >> I need you to stay here. >> Okay. Cuz you doing wrong with you. >> So you want me to go to the next step? >> Good, bro. Turn around. Hands behind your back. Hands behind your back. Hands behind your back, bro. Turn around. >> That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. >> Please listen to us. >> Don't move. Stay right there. Stop to >> I'm serious. Please stop talking to you, bro. >> Good. Good. >> The suspect's friends knew he was in the wrong. They did their best to calm him down while also helping the officers. The only person losing their temper and being unreasonable was this guy and not the officers. >> Here, man. Calm down, man. >> Hey, you right here. >> Y'all doing the most pett. Hey, but look how they doing though. So unnecessary though. We have to get to this point. But they want to express their so bad. >> There's more to it. You want to sit up? Stay right there. Stay right. >> Hey, what time y'all get on? >> Hey, stay right there. >> What time? >> What time you get off, boy? >> Hey, what time you get on? >> What time do you get off here right now? What time do you get off? >> I'm cleaning you off, bro. Relax. His friends did their best to intervene and calm the man down, but somehow he just couldn't be reached. He wanted a fight and he was going to get it. But there was no way he was going to win since he was sitting on the ground in handcuffs. >> It's funny. You were funny already. I promise. We laugh. I promise. >> Shut the boat over there. >> Take the boat over there. >> Take me to jail. Let's go. I'm ready. >> Let's go. >> Stop. I'm ready. It's not on your time table. Stop. >> I'm ready. I'm waiting for you, bro. >> Exactly. You're waiting for me. So, wait. You just said you waiting for me. >> For you, bro. >> For you, bro. Don't say nothing for you, bro. For nobody else. Let me talk for you. >> The man continued claiming he'd done nothing wrong. He seemed to think he was being arrested for speeding, but as the officers explained, that should have just been a ticket that he was being arrested because of his behavior. >> Hey, what's y'all charging me with though? >> Uh, resisting without violence. >> You're funny as >> you didn't listen to anything you said. >> You in real life, bro. >> Okay, I'll charge you again. I'll charge you. That's a charge for threatening me. That's a felony. You better watch it. >> Charge me then. >> No, >> say less. You done? >> Yeah. >> I got it. I don't give a >> You wishes my command. >> Don't do it, boy. Yep. You say whichever you want. Just don't move. >> Don't move. >> The suspect should have taken his friend's advice and let his friend do the talking. Instead, he went on screaming at the officers, telling them off and getting extra charges. Shortly after, more cops arrived on scene to transport this guy to jail. >> So, what is that charge? I'm hitting the boat >> there. It's more than that. >> What charge is that? >> We told you to We gave you a lawful command to stop and stop walking away. >> Okay. So, you did it. >> We told you to come back. came back was on a jet ski, bro. >> Oh, you're a racist. >> You're a racist. >> No, you are. You are. >> You're the one that just brought up race. >> Yeah, I did. >> So, that means you're racist. So, are you racist? >> I might be I might be racist. You're the problem, man. Everybody's racist. >> That's We need to get rid of racism, man. You need to stop doing that. >> You need to get rid of your racist your racist self cuz your energy. I don't even like you. This dude right here that's driving a boat, he cool. I want you to know that you're a >> Yes, I know that. All right. Thank you. >> I'm a Thank you. >> And you're a racist. >> Has your body cam on? >> Has it been on the whole time? >> Whole time. >> Whole time. >> Whole time. >> Can you send it to me? >> Your body cam on? >> Yeah. >> Hey, I parked that. Where is it called? >> I don't know. >> Phil Foster. I parked over there. That is that is that >> they charged the man with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest without violence, speeding in a slow speed zone, and failure to have a boating ID card. During a sedent channel gas barilla parade, fish and wildlife officers were on routine water patrol when they noticed a dinghy circling a sailboat. As they pulled up along the sailboat to conduct a safety inspection, an occupant on the boat pulled his pants down and exposed himself. Shut the motor off and I'm going to have you come over here. I don't want you to get back on the sailboat. >> Huh? >> Sir, >> just making sure it's off. He doesn't have very good vision. >> Okay. >> Hey guys, please. What's up? >> Hey, how you doing? >> How you doing tonight? >> Good. You hand my partner your rope real quick or here. >> What do you want? >> Okay. >> What do I do for you? >> I need you to come on over here. No, >> you were just on your boat. >> I was getting some stuff at us. >> Listen, listen. Okay, we saw you doing some circles. >> They threw us somewhere up. >> Okay. >> What are you What are you guys >> Okay, listen. >> We were getting the pieces. >> Relax. >> I need you to come to the front of your boat and have a conversation with me. Okay. >> The suspect, who his friends referred to as catfish, obliged the officers and agreed to sit down with them and have a conversation. However, not everyone there was willing to cooperate. It was obvious the people on the boat were highly intoxicated. >> Listen, >> we're we're conducting investigation right now. I need you to have a seat back there. >> And everybody has the ability. >> Have a seat over there >> to have everything. >> Have a seat over there. >> I'm recording right now. >> You're not recording. Have a seat over there. Were you recording with what, sir? I need you to go over there. You're going to end up going to jail if I have to keep telling you. Unless you if you don't want to go to jail tonight, go over there. >> You think? >> I'd have a conversation with him. >> Aside from being drunk, the suspects here were also uncooperative. However, seeing that a festival was going on, the cops didn't want to cause them unnecessary trouble. If they were willing to cooperate, the cops here were willing to work with them. >> So, listen. And the reason we're coming over here to talk to you, okay, you were on your small Zodiac coming in and out. >> We were getting the >> I understand. I understand. I'm just letting you know that's the reason that we're here talking to you. Okay. >> Zodiac. >> No, that's why I'm coming over here to talk to you. >> Go to go to the bar and pay for bar. >> Okay. Listen, I wanted to make sure you were safe to operate the vessel. We saw you on the boat. Do you understand where I'm coming from? I just want to make sure you're safe to operate the boat. I understand that. >> Do you mind putting a life jacket on and showing me that you're safe to operate the boat and then you're free to get back on your boat and go to the bar and do whatever? I have a life jacket. >> I have a life jacket right here that you can have. >> I think I have a life jacket in the zodiac. >> There's I see that. >> Okay. I'm going to give you a life jacket and I want you to come have a seat. >> You're good. You're It's right there. >> All right. Go ahead and put that on and I'm going to have you come sit over here. Okay. >> Okay. Listen, I'm >> I'm not coming to your boat. >> Okay. All right. At this point, >> my vessel. >> Okay. I'm not asking you. I'm telling you, go ahead and come on to my boat. what you're telling me. I am not leaving my vessel and I'm telling you that. >> The officer tried building rapport with them, but it seemed like his efforts were all in vain. Catfish told the officer that he was welcome to come aboard their ship, but that's not the way it works. Catfish wasn't in charge here and he wasn't calling the shots. >> Listen, I'm not going to tell you again. Have a seat back there. >> You couldn't tell me one time. >> Have a seat back there. >> Listen, are you trying to give me a DUI? >> I want to make sure that you're safe. What are you trying to give me a DIY is my question. >> Relax. Okay, >> I'm relaxed. Catfish calm. >> I don't think Sit down. Sit. >> So, like I was saying, I'm trying to I want to have a conversation with you. Okay. We saw you on the dinghy. >> Okay. I'm show you're showing signs that you're a bit impaired. I want to make sure that you're safe to get to get back on your boat. Go to the bar. Go pick up beads. Do whatever you want to do. That's fine. I'm not saying you're not allowed to do that. I want to make sure you're safe to operate the boat. Okay. >> I'm safe, though. >> Okay. I'm I'm asking you will will you do field sobriety to make sure that you're safe? Okay. Hell >> no. Okay. So listening motor same thing as a bicycle. Sit >> down. Ross stay out of it. >> Catfish's friend Ross drunkenly tried to tell the officers that they didn't know the law. According to Ross, because Catfish lived on the vessel, the cops couldn't tell them what to do. However, unfortunately for Ross, that wasn't and never has been the law. >> Okay, have a seat. If you get up, you're going to jail. Okay. I need you to stand up and come on to my boat. Okay. >> I need you to move over here. >> Yes. What's your name? Slide down for me. [Applause] >> Slide back that way. >> You're a college kid. >> I'm a police officer. >> I'm a law enforcement officer in the state of Florida. >> Years old. >> Okay. >> 25 years. >> Go back over there. >> Go back. We're not going to ask you back. >> I'm going to tell you one more time. Go and have a seat or you're going to jail. That's it. I'm not going to have the conversation anymore. Go have a seat. We're trying to handle something right now. >> Step back. >> Go into the car. >> Sit back over there. >> You need to sit back over there. >> Be clear. >> I need you to sit back over there. >> Turn around. >> Turn around. >> Be careful. >> Do not tense up. Don't resist yourself on the boat. >> Do not hurt yourself on the boat. >> Stop. >> I'm not I'm not resisting. >> Bring your Bring your hand back. >> Eventually, Catfish complied and went to the officer's vessel, and he was followed by Ross in handcuffs. He could have been free to go, but sadly, Ross let his ego get the best of him. The cops told Catfish that if he refused the field sobriety test, he'd be taken to jail, so he finally agreed. >> Left. Put your arms down by your side. Remember, immediately return your >> Just touch them and return them. >> Immediately immediately touch it and turn it back down. All right. Right. >> Right. >> Just a temple. >> I didn't arrest. >> He's not the one that arrested you. >> Who did? >> The one that put the handcuffs on you. >> So what did you arrest me for? >> I told you. Obstruction interference. You got 72 hours. File them charges. >> Thanks, lawyer. >> Close your eyes. You can't open them until I tell you to be done. Left. >> I'm so happy. >> You're good. >> I have trust issues. >> You're good, man. Two. One, two. >> All right. Repeat this. Speed up as you go and do not stop until it's told. Okay. >> One, two, one, two. One, two. >> Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. >> Are you going to follow me in the water? >> You're going to sit down like I said. >> Are you going to follow me in the water? >> Sit down. >> You're going to follow me? >> Looks like it. >> You think that all your arms are stronger than my legs? >> My legs can bench press 400 lb. >> I will pick you up. >> You can bench press with your legs >> or is it squatting? >> Squatting. >> Okay. During the field sobriety test, Catfish wasn't doing great, but he was at least in good spirits and doing his best. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for Ross, who kept on arguing with the officers in the back of the boat. >> Clap your hands three times. >> What the >> Listen, I don't make the test. Do I look >> Follow all those instructions at once? >> Do I look smart enough to make these tests? >> Do I look smart enough to follow these tests? >> I didn't make the test. You You do look smart enough. It's only a $500 fine if you refuse the sobriety test. >> It's a civil fine at that. It's not criminal. >> Hey, >> it's for horses. What's up? >> We could get along though. >> We I'm getting along with I I like you. >> You think that handcuff is going to help? >> The one on your wrist. >> Come with me. >> If I jump over that, >> you're coming with if you hang on. You're coming with >> You're going to sit down right here. Okay. >> You're going to come with >> Sit down. Sit down. Sit down right here. There you go. >> The instructions for the last test proved to be too much for Catfish to handle. So the man gave up. That being said, even if he had participated, nothing would have changed the result. And with that being done, they placed Catfish under arrest for >> Do me a favor. Stand up. >> You're good. I'm going to do something else. Stand up for me. Turn around. Look back at the engines. Okay. >> In jail, man. >> He's under arrest for voting under the influence. I am the owner. >> He was on the small boat. Okay, that's all we're going to say. We observed >> the owner of the boat. >> Listen. Listen. We observed him on the small boat, right? We saw him go around your boat two or three times and come out into the middle. I watched it. Okay, that's fine. You're allowed to pick stuff up. Well, you're not allowed to be as impaired. Okay, you I'm going to let you give me a breath sample and a urine sample. >> Hell no. I failed that. >> I will fill that. >> What are you going to fail it with? >> Cuz I've been drinking all day. >> All right, sit down. >> Well, you're not. You police take me to jail and do your thing and don't talk to me. You bad. >> Well, if you want to get to your cell, man, you got to stand up. >> We're We're taking you right now if you stand up. >> You want to sit down or lay down? >> You're going to have to help me at this point. I can't get up. >> Okay. So, we're going to roll you this way. >> No, just pick me straight up. >> I can't do that. >> You ready to go to court? Do you even know how to spell court >> with a K? I thought I thought it was a cute. >> After it was all said and done, at least they were able to exchange a few jokes. Catfish was charged with BUI. And as for his friend Ross, he was arrested for obstruction and disorderly intoxication. On April 30th, 2023, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Department were patrolling Lake Bokeh when they saw a jet ski wake jumping which violated the Speedway zone regulations. >> Are you the registered owner? >> Yeah, I am. Okay. What's your name? You got your >> You got your ID on you? >> Yeah. >> You have your ID on you, sir? >> Okay. >> What's your date of birth, man? >> Girl, stop. >> Hey, buddy. What What year were you born? >> Okay. Do you have your voting ID card? >> I don't, but I'm on file. I got voter's license for life. >> Okay. So, so you've taken it. You just don't have it with you is what you're saying. >> I don't have it with me, but I do have my voters. >> Oh, you've taken it. You're taking the course is what you're saying. Okay. That's what I'm getting at. Okay. >> No problem. >> Okay. And you're taking my tour. You're >> Yeah. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> I got my knee coming. >> Okay. How long you all been out today? You stay for the rain or you coming out for the rain? >> I mean, we got here like 12. >> Got like 12. Did you take your uh boating safety in Florida? >> Yeah. >> Okay, I got you. All right. Do you got a whistler horn and a fire extinguisher on? Okay. Do you mind showing me real quick just so I can take a look? >> The officers asked the suspect, Justin, for his registration, fire extinguisher, whistle, and other required safety equipment. And to his credit, he had it all under his seat. But the cops didn't want to let him go yet as they had a little suspicion that he might be under the influence. >> Officer is working on your paperwork. He's going to get with you in a second here. >> I got a lawyer. >> Okay, that's that's fine. Listen. Listen. >> I got a lawyer. >> I got a lawyer. >> Listen. Hey, calm down. >> This is We're not even saying you're getting a ticket. >> I go to hollow all the time. Stop. Stop. >> Nobody's saying you're getting a ticket. >> You know, I got a little >> Nobody's saying you're getting a ticket. Are you going to stop talking and listen to me? Nobody's saying you're getting a ticket. >> So, what is that? >> He's running your paperwork to see who you are. Okay. How much have you had to drink today? >> I didn't have none. >> Didn't have none. Okay. All right. Well, cuz you're sluring your speech. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, I'm trying I'm trying to see why you're doing that. >> Okay. You're agitated and stuff. >> I just left the boat, >> right? And you're super agitated. That's not normal. >> It's not that. It's cuz I get pulled over all the time in my car. Everything. Just cuz I've been to prison doesn't mean >> Okay, relax. I I we don't know any of that. All right, relax. >> Justin felt like the cops were picking on him, and to some extent, he was right. By this point, it looked like the cops were just searching for something to pin on him. He had his registration and his safety equipment was all in order. And the cops said they pulled him over just for wake jumping. However, they kept coming up with new reasons to justify pulling him over. >> If you're operating on the water, you have certain rules, just like you have to have blinkers when you're out on the road, right? Same type of thing. Okay. >> Hooked up. >> I got it. I appreciate that. 100%. >> I appreciate that. But you also have improper display and we check to make sure you have safety equipment. Your numbers aren't correct. You know, we check that stuff. Your zip, your vest isn't even buckled up and zip. All that stuff is my numbers ain't correct. >> Yes, I'll explain that. Okay. They're the right numbers, but they're not spaced properly. There's a bunch of rules on the water that you're not following. So, again, I'm going to ask you, how much have you had to drink? I know you've had some. I can smell it on you. Okay. >> Go ahead, man. >> Okay. Well, let me just check your eyes. Make sure you're good to drive back. Okay, she's on there. >> Justin cooperated with the officers and boarded their boat so they could check his eyes. However, he soon grew frustrated, believing the cops were treating him unfairly. He eventually refused to do any field sobriety test. >> We literally just want to make sure your eyes are okay to make sure you can drive safely. >> That's all prove nothing. >> That's all we want to do, man. >> Do what you got to do, baby girl. Go. >> Listen, >> let my girl go. I got a lawyer. Listen. Time out. Straight. Do what you got to do. >> Okay. Listen. Are you done, man? Are you done throwing a fit? Are you done? Relax, dude. I'm trying to talk to you like a man and you're acting like a kid. >> My lawyer always told me never talk to police. >> I already did my time. >> Straight. >> Baby girl, go about your business. I'll be straight. >> I'm not leaving. I'm >> Is it cuz I went 10 miles hour? >> It's not about speed, but that's not here. >> I didn't even speak. >> Okay. You did. But >> my jet ski, my jet ski only goes 30 miles per hour. You want to be honest. >> It's a slow speed minimum wake. Okay. It's not about necessarily speed. It's about the wake that you make. Okay. >> Justin continued telling the officers that he didn't want to speak to them without a lawyer present. However, the cops ignored his rebuttals and pressured the man to do the field sobriety tests. >> All right. So, I'd just like to check your eyes and get you on your way. That's all I'd like to do. >> Do what you got. >> Are you going to cooperate with that? >> Nothing. >> You're not going to. You're not gonna let me check your eyes to see if you're safe to drive. >> Do what you got to do. I got a lawyer. >> Angle, provide nothing. >> Go, baby girl. >> This is this is the this is the road you want to take. >> I can't get on. >> This is this is this is the this is the the way you want to take this. >> No, they want to act out like that. I got a lawyer. >> This this is the direction you want to take is what I'm asking you. >> I got a lawyer. I got money. I'm straight. >> That's fine. I'm not asking about court. I'm not asking. >> I got a lawyer. >> Do me a favor. Put your feet shoulderwidth apart. >> I'm not doing none of that. >> Okay. >> Shoulderwidth apart is what I'm saying. >> Stop me up. >> Justin had every right to refuse the field sobriety tests. He also had the right to remain silent. The cops should have respected his rights, placed him under arrest, and taken him down to the station so he could talk to his lawyer. But that's not the way things went down. >> All right. So, this is the tip of your finger. I told you lawyer. >> This is the tip of your nose. >> Tip of this tip of my lawyer. >> All right. All right. So, this is the direction you want to go. >> Direction. I want to go 100%. >> You don't want to do any more of these tasks. >> You don't want to do any more of these tasks. >> I'm saying I'm not taking the test. >> Okay. It's not a test. It's a task. Listen, >> I'm asking you. Keep that on. >> Handcuffing cuz I I got a lawyer. I'm straight. >> Okay. So, you don't want to do anything more going forward. I just I'm trying to give you every opportunity, Justin, to show me that you can drive. >> I'm straight, bro. >> Okay. This is your me like a fish. >> This is your This is your choice that you're going to make is what I'm telling you. Okay. >> Hey, baby girl, just go about your business. >> I'm I'm both my girl. Let my girl go. Take me to jail. I'm straight. >> So again, you don't want any more of this. You don't want to do any field soiet if you're you're care. >> Okay. So nothing else to show me that you're >> nothing else to show me that you're safe to drive. Okay. >> Last opportunity, >> then I have to make my decision based on what I've seen. >> Justin refused to budge and stuck to his guns throughout the entire ordeal. But by this point, Justin here took the whole refusing to cooperate thing just a little too far. >> All right, >> do me a favor. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> That's what you're going to do, honey. >> I'm only going to ask you one more time. I'm telling you, turn around and put your hands behind your back or I am going to put my hands on you. What are y'all doing? >> I got you got >> I got a lawyer. >> I got a lawyer. >> That's crazy. >> That's crazy. My hand. >> You crack my You crack my wife. When I get out of jail, put that 10 in your wife. I put that I'm put. Yeah. >> Can you chill out? >> It's all good. I put that as you chill out. >> Just know I'm your wife. I'm your wife. You life jackets are in here over here. >> The cops secured Justin in handcuffs and put a life jacket on him while he continued threatening to do unspeakable things to their wives. And while he might have had the upper hand in the beginning, he should have taken the high road and cooperated with the officers when they told him he was under arrest. >> All you wipes all you well take a boat ride before any of that happens. So go ahead. I don't give a All right. I'll go to jail. >> Oh, you you are you're going to jail. Don't Don't worry. We'll get >> I'll your wife. I'mma drop this big your wife. >> Record this. Hey, man. Record this. Record this. Record this. >> This your wife sucks fat. >> Can't understand half. I don't care. >> It was just going to be a ticket. Then they acted up and >> I' seen the worst. I' seen the worst. >> Say again. >> I've been Florida. >> Justin was arrested and charged with BUI, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. While the first two charges were dropped, he was found guilty of resisting arrest and recklessly operating a motor vehicle. While on patrol in Penllis County, officers pulled along a vessel to conduct a routine safety and resource inspection. However, due to the suspect's behavior, this inspection was anything but routine. >> Hey guys, how's it going? >> How you doing? >> Good. You guys just hanging out today or did you go fishing? >> Can you just pop that one for me? out there. >> Was it too choppy? >> How far did you guys go off? >> Okay. Okay. Not one fish, >> man. Come on. I was >> I was expecting y'all to have the fish. >> No. >> Oh, man. >> I wanted to try my trolling motor. I left the remote control. >> Oh, man. >> Is it a new new trolling motor? >> Yeah. I didn't have an anchor, so >> Oh, man. All right. Just do me a favor. Pop that one cooler right there. >> Water. >> No, thank you. I'm good. Aaron, you got the boat? >> Yep. >> All right, I'm going to just I'm going to step over real quick and then we'll get y'all out of there. All right. >> The officer boarded the boat and conducted a routine safety inspection, ensuring it had the necessary equipment. After that, the captain, Joseph, gave them his license and registration. However, the officer had another question on his mind. >> Is there any on this boat by chance? >> None. Cuz I'm smelling it. >> If there Hey, if there's just a little bit, it's not a big deal. Yes. >> Okay, that no big deal. Just show us. >> That's fine. Just show us where it's at. >> Cuz I can smell it. It's all good. I don't I don't care. >> I don't know. >> What's in that crown roll bag? That's your new fishing box or your uh tackle box. >> Is it in your shirt? >> Your cigarette container? >> That's all there is? >> Nothing else. Does anybody else have any on them? >> No, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Just be honest with me. How much alcohol? Have you had anything to drink today? >> Smoked it. >> Whatever we got there. >> You drink? >> I don't drink. >> You don't drink? Okay. >> As there was alcohol and on board, the cops were more than a little suspicious that the crew was under the influence. As a result, the cops wanted a closer look at the captain's eyes. However, he was reluctant to let them. >> So, I just want to do some tasks. Make sure you're safe to operate the boat. >> I don't want to do that. >> You don't want to do that? >> So, >> I can't make you do anything. >> Yeah. >> Right. I just don't feel I need to do that. >> So, the only reason to do them is to prove to him that you are able to drive the boat. >> Okay. Well, we're we're like we're we're past that. So, I just I just I'm asking you. Okay. >> Okay. You don't want to >> fine. What do you want me to do? >> Huh? Well, I just want you to grab a life jack and come sit on the front of my boat real quick. >> Okay. It's only going to take a couple minutes. >> It's going to take just a few minutes. I want to make sure you're safe to operate the boat and then >> Well, if if you're not >> Well, listen, man. Listen listen. >> Okay, >> we're we're past this at this point, right? >> Joseph refused to do the field sobriety test, but after the cops informed him that they'd arrest him if he refused, he agreed to board their boat and go through with it. However, his crew started questioning the officer's motives, saying they didn't have the right to board their vessel. >> Listen, listen. >> Name and badge number. What's your name and badge number, sir? >> Your name and badge number. >> Sorry. >> Step over to the boat. >> Okay. >> Listen, I'm done chasing you on the boat. Get off the Get off. Get on the boat. Get on the boat. >> Get on the boat. >> Get on the boat. Have a seat up front. >> Have a seat up front. >> I'm not doing this. >> Okay. Sit down. Sit down. >> Let me No. Get down. Get down. >> Stop. >> Turn over. Turn over. >> Stop, bro. Just relax. Stop. >> Get the boat. We got >> Stop. Stop hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest. >> All right. All right. >> Stop. He's reaching. He's reaching. >> Stop. Stop, bro. >> All right. All right. All right. >> I got him. >> My guys. >> Well, now you got more charges, man. >> One thing's clear. Joseph never should have tried escaping back to his boat. For that stunt, he'd be lucky if he didn't get an evading charge. Next, the officers got him up and got a closer look at his eyes. And let's just say he didn't look sober. >> Officer, please >> listen to me. You need to relax. >> I know, but I just >> You've had a lot to drink today. >> No, I have not. >> Okay. >> Look at his eyes. >> My eyes are always red. >> Listen, listen. Listen, >> sir. >> Can I stand up, please? >> No, you cannot. >> Why >> are you okay with us cutting the boat loose to your partner? >> Get on that boat. >> You're not getting on that boat. So, listen. >> Sit down, bro. Can't do anything. >> Sit down. All right. Stop. >> 7245. Can you get uh Charger Island 51 over to uh Gator? >> Stop. >> Listen to me. >> Just relax now. >> You're making this worse. Okay. You're making this worse. >> If you if you calm down, I can loosen up and give you another pair to help you. Okay. >> Yeah, we're good, man. >> It's all good. We didn't want him going in the water. >> So, let me explain to you. You're free to videotape. >> No, no, no. I'm going to talk. Okay. >> Listen. Talk to the lawyer. >> That's fine. I'm going to tell you because you want to videotape. All right. We We did a fisheries inspection. Okay. We observed signs that he was impaired. >> Okay. That's all right. You good to control? Okay. You're good to go, man. >> The cops sent Joseph's crew on their way while they prepared to transport him to jail. Afterward, he was read his rights, informed of his charges, and told that he was officially under arrest. >> Okay. Step right up here. >> Step right here. Watch your foot. Back up. >> Okay. Come over here. >> Listen. Do you have anything sharp in your pockets? >> No. >> Stop. Listen. Stop. >> Open your legs. >> Hey, the If you listen to If you listen, we'll loosen. Okay. Just right there. If you listen to us, we'll loosen. So, right now, before we loosen, we just have to make sure you don't have any weapons on you or anything like that. Once we do that, we will loosen these handcuffs. Just give us literally one minute. Okay? >> I don't know why. >> We've told you. We'll keep telling you if you if you want to know, but we've already told you. I do so much for you guys, too. I support. >> Oh, I appreciate that. >> Joseph begged the officers to let him off the hook and explained to them that he did a lot of work for the local PD. But like the officers told him, even so, he didn't have a free pass to break the law. And after searching the man, the cops uncovered the real reason he'd resisted arrest. >> You have something tucked in? >> No, I have my >> I don't have no underwear. >> Sir, you need to relax, man. >> All right. All right. All right. There. >> There we go. >> Okay, I got it. If you want to grab it. >> Now you're under possession or under arrest for possession of control substance. What? >> For the the You're not going to tell me how I'm going to do my job. Okay. So, I'm going to have to you just told me here with your legs in. I believe you know your job very well. >> Thank you so much. There you sit just like that. >> I need my cell phone. >> Well, I think your cell phone's on the boat. >> Yeah. Well, I would. You know that guy? My guy works for me. >> There was a reason you were trying to get away from me. >> I wasn't trying to get away. >> Yeah, you were. You were. We were We were dancing around the boat. >> It's not my first rodeo. >> One second. >> I know. Listen. Listen. Okay. >> 80 300. >> You got 540 here. Okay. Do you know that? Okay. Where'd you have >> my wallet? I called my attorney, but >> where where'd you have the at, man? >> Have it. >> It was in your butt. >> Fell out of your pants, man. >> Joseph claimed he knew nothing about the between his butt cheeks and furthermore accused the cops of putting it there. But the cops weren't too concerned as the body cam footage would prove they didn't plan it on him. >> What were you arrested me for, though? >> Putting under the influence. >> I wasn't resistant. So, you already had a plan to arrest me. See? >> All right. Here. We're not going to Here's >> you guys already. >> Sit down, man. Sit. >> Sit down. Stop. >> Come on, guys. >> Okay. >> You're going to keep catching charges if you don't listen. >> All right. I'm sorry. I'm trying to resist. I just >> So, I would listen. >> Look at me. Stop. Just stop talking. >> Stop talking. >> Okay. No more. >> Are you good, man? >> Be better if I can ride in the front. >> Hey, he's going to talk to you the whole way down to 49th Street. Can I ride in the front? >> You can't ride in the front. >> They charged Joseph with resisting without violence, voting under the influence, possession of cannabis under 20 g, refusing to submit to a breath test, and possession of a controlled substance. On September 5th, 2022, police officers pulled a boat over after reports the operator was under the influence. And from the moment the cops moved beside the man's boat, it was more than clear that he was intoxicated. >> All right. How you folks doing today? >> You guys having a good day today? >> So far so good. >> All right. Let's see. >> Hold on one sec. I'll I'll tell you what all we need to grab. >> All right. Well, my name's Officer Cliff. What's your name? >> Spike. >> Spike. Good to meet you, Spike. So, since you're operating the boat, I actually saw you operating the boat as well. All right. But for now, I'm going to have you grab everything. All right. All right. Whose boat is it? It's your boat. All right. Do you have the paper registration on board? All right. Let's go and see that first. Spike, the owner and operator of the boat, was more than just buzzed. He was completely wasted. He could barely sit down without falling. And the fact that he was driving a boat in this shape was absolutely ridiculous. But to this guy's credit, at least he was honest about it. >> Another question I have, just because I see a lot of empties on the boat, have you had anything to drink today? >> I had a couple beers. I'm going be honest with you. Yes, sir, I have. >> All right. You mind if I check your eyes? Just make sure you're okay to operate the boat. >> If you want to. >> Okay. All right. Just going to have you follow tip my finger here for a second with your eyes. Your eyes only. Step forward just a little bit for me. Sir, I really would not like to do this right now cuz we're on a boat that's like swerving and stuff. >> Okay. Well, that's fine. I'm going to check your eyes and then I'll have you sit down for the rest. All right. Just make sure everything's good to go. All right. >> You want me to follow your finger? >> Just follow the tip of my finger there with your eyes. Your eyes only. All right. >> Okay. Cool. >> There was absolutely no way Spike was going to pass that test, but the cops still had to try. He was then asked to step onto their boat to continue the testing, but he declined to do so, saying when the officers approached him, he wasn't even operating the boat. >> Basically, I've got enough to place you under arrest right now. >> If you show me that you can perform these tasks and that you're sober enough to operate the boat, then you're free to go. >> Let's go. You want me to jump on your boat? You said >> so. You got to put one of your life jackets on. >> You got to put the life jacket on. Happy, man. >> I'm good. All right. >> I don't need no help. >> All right. All right. >> Appreciate y'all. >> All right. Follow me up front here. >> Now, look, >> you got to follow me up front. Come on. >> I already feel like this is set up, man. >> All right. I'm going to just have you sit right here. >> Why did I sit right there, man? >> Because this, like you said, you don't want to stand up to do this, right? Because Mo's rocking. Whatever. >> Whatever you want to do. >> Okay. Although reluctantly, Spike agreed to do the field sobriety test. But just by looking at him, the cops knew already how he'd perform even before they tested him. But that wasn't going to stop Spike from giving it everything he had. >> Try to follow that tip right there for me. All right. >> That tip's fine. >> Okay. >> Follow the tip there. >> I'm watching it. >> I'm watching you and watching. >> All right. I need you to watch the tip of the >> I am. My eyes are on that. My perial vision is perfect. >> All right. Well, I need you to follow the tip of the fin, not me, >> dude. >> Okay. Okay. Keep your eyes closed. >> Yeah, they are. >> Left. >> Left hand. Look. Touch it with the tip like he told me. Very tip. >> Good. >> Right. You got to keep going. >> Right. >> Okay. >> Back down to your side. One, two, one, two, one, two, one, two, one, two, one, two, one, two, one, two. How fast do you want? >> Needless to say, he failed every test and the cops had to arrest him. But then came a twist. While Spike was stumbling through the test, his passengers noticed that his boat was taking on water. And that was a problem for several reasons. Because Spike was the only one with a boater's license and he was now in custody. >> N you ain't going nowhere. The whole boat's full of water, man. >> Check the plug. The plug needs checked, sir. I appreciate your help. I'm not trying to be a like that, man. I appreciate you helping. I just want to make sure that some kid didn't come by and kick the plug up >> cuz it's one of them flip deals. >> Yeah. Well, don't worry. >> Why is that got so much water in it? >> Not like that. It never had nobody's back there. He can check the plug. Where's >> Sir? Look, >> stand back there. I'm not going anywhere. I like to help. Please, sir. Man, >> dude, I'm done, man. You see my just like my whole life just drowning in salt water. >> That's fine. Ain't nothing I can do about it, >> man. >> Do you want him to check the plug? >> Please, man. >> You okay if I hand? >> I'm not going. I'm What? Can I swim across the shore and y'all can't catch me on a boat? Like, where the am I going, dude? There's an island right here. Where am I going? >> The boat was rapidly taking on water and none of the passengers knew how to stop it. Reluctantly, the cops agreed to let Spike out of his handcuffs and let him quickly fix the leak. >> All right, just deal. Hop in there. Check the check the plug. Do what you got to do, but we're putting you back on this boat when you're done. Not unless y'all let me drive it over to the boat ramp. Please not be right there with me. You got two 250s. I'm not going nowhere. >> You can check the plug. That's as far as we're going today. Okay, >> dude. My boat's safety, man. You can't help me. You think you're protecting it, sir. That's your job. That is your job. >> Yeah, I'm protecting everybody's lives. >> Check the plug. And that's it. We're not arguing anymore. I'm plug in full of water. What do you think, man? Thank you for your helping, but you ain't doing a thing. >> I have my friend come out here and pull the boat home, man. >> All right. Well, you better >> take me to jail, man. >> Have her call your friend to come get the boat. >> Fine. Take me to jail. >> Spike secured the plugs, but already the boat was full of water. Frustrated, he asked one of the passengers to call a friend of his to tow the boat back to the boat ramp. Afterward, he drunkenly climbed back aboard the police boat so they could take him to jail. >> Look, my hands here's help. Hell no. >> Y'all ain't help me a bit. You got me up. You ain't help me one bit. One time. >> Act like you help me. Help me. >> Help me. You ain't help me. Put your hands around your back, >> man. That's fine. Put Put me in jail. Let's go. Let's Why don't we there already? Said I have my bomb posted. Y'all was some, man. I ain't did a damn thing wrong. That's lame as man. >> That's why I've been working with you. All right. >> You ain't working with me none cuz you wouldn't be putting me in cuffs, man. Don't sit here and tell me you're my best friend and you ain't a to me. You ain't nothing but a problem. >> Look, I'm out here trying to have a good damn time. No, it ain't a good damn time. I work every day, all day, six days a week. Sit right here. >> I want to sit right here. This the best ride of the boat. >> I need you to sit front. >> No, cuz it's the best ride of the boat. >> If y'all hitting a bunch of waves, I want to be in the back. >> It looks like Spike wanted to enjoy his remaining moments at sea before they took him off to jail. But understandably, the cops couldn't let him sit in the back of the boat, handcuffed and drunk beside two massive propellers. However, that didn't mean Spike was going to move to the front that easily. >> You're sitting up front. You're not standing back here. Sit up front. >> Then y'all going to have to drag my >> I ain't doing me. >> Look, they dragging me up. >> Get him. >> Stand up. >> No, I ain't doing Y'all want me to sit in the front? >> Come on. >> Sit me in the front. Got me up. I ain't doing I ain't talking to you. way. He's saying, >> "Come on. Ready?" >> Yeah, I'm ready. >> 3 2 1. Put your legs under. Push. >> All right. Sit down there. >> Spike was charged with vessel DUI, refusing to submit to testing, and resisting an officer without violence. Entitled boat owners and police are like oil and water. They just don't mix. If the cops pull you over and you refuse to work with them and throw a fit like a spoiled toddler, you'll quickly find out what happens when entitled boat owners get humbled by cops.
