I paid for my stuff. I'm sorry. >> I have to see. I'm scared. >> I paid for my stuff. My receipt is right there. That's my bag. >> I was holding the receipt. >> I apologize. You just stole $600 worth of finance. >> I know. And I made a mistake and I'm aware of it and and I want you to know I'm aware of it and I and I will whatever you want me to do, I will show you changes actively. I will I will do it. Please >> stop right now. >> Dude, you better stop. I'm telling you. You better stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Shoplifterss pretend the checkout line's optional and then play dumb when the cuffs come out. It rarely works for them. And lucky for us, the dumb stunts they pull give us 3 hours of shoplifterss getting arrested and caught on body cam. On September 7th, 2023 in Illinois, police received a call from a Target store about a man who stole multiple items from electronics. The officers tracked down the man and found him on a bus. Hey, what's wrong? >> Hi. Did someone just get on your bus with a big blue bag? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Blue bag. >> What's going on, boss? >> What's up? >> Oh, you ain't no have ID. ID. >> What's going on? >> Where's your big bag at? >> I don't have no bag. >> You don't have a bag? Stop. >> I got that bag back there. >> I ain't mad. >> Is that yours? >> Okay. >> What kind of bag? >> Stand up. >> But I'm getting cuffed. >> Yep. >> For what? >> Investigation. Turn around. >> You got 416. We're fighting with one. What was I stealing your hand? Sir, >> we're not doing this. >> All right, extra charges. Let's go. >> Clearly, this man wasn't very smart. Before the cops could even say they were investigating for theft, he already asked the cops what they think he stole. By being too defensive, he just confirmed to them that he was the person they were looking for. And while they told the man that he wasn't under arrest, he still tried to run, which only made things worse. >> RESISTING BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> RESISTING. GIVE ME YOUR ARM. >> GIVE ME YOUR ARM, SIR. >> RIGHT NOW. >> GIVE ME YOUR ARM. >> SIR, >> GIVE ME YOUR ARM. LET'S GRAB MY PHONE. >> HANDS. I got a hand right there. >> Put the other hand back. >> Put the other hand back. >> Sir, he just grabbed my phone. >> Don't miss the hand. >> All right. >> Sir, he just grabbed my phone. He just grabbed my phone. >> Sir, can you go? >> We have your phone bag. >> Who have your phone? >> Where's the bag at? >> What bag? >> Back there. Yeah. >> Double lock those cuffs. >> All right, let's get him up. Turn around. Are you going to be all right to walk to your car? Yes. Okay. My phone work. >> This guy must have had some incredibly important information on his phone for him to be so worried about it. But he was outnumbered by police and decided it was best to stop resisting. The cops escorted the man to the unit while one stayed back to question the bus driver. >> He was running at top speed to get on my bus. And when I pulled over at the stop, he jumped on with the bus and he took his um card out of his thing, his phone case. >> First he started yelling at the lady and then had that McDonald, but I didn't know what he had in his bag. >> I don't need all I know. >> You said you took a a card out of here. It was a card in the back of the phone or something for the uh >> He might have put it in cuz it fell out on the floor. >> Those things are so hard to get. >> We think this is the same person stole multiple other times. Done sim similar things. >> Wow. >> But Target chased him all the way out there and chased them to your bus. >> But Target is not supposed to even chase him. >> Yeah. I think they have different policy like when they know he's already done his multi. They actually visually saw him do it. So I think they went to stop him. He ran. That's why they told him that he's getting the bus and then we found obviously stopped you and then that's how >> this all played out. So, >> well, you know, you guys rolled up on me like I did something wrong. I'm like, "Oh my god, no." >> Yeah. >> Well, we appreciate it. So, you're good to go if you need to go. >> All right. Thank you. >> Uh, we'll get you these guys will get out of your way in a second, too. >> All right. Thank you. >> After sending the bus driver on her way, the cops then turned their attention back to the suspect. Since he was apparently a repeat offender, they had to make sure he was locked down tight. The suspect, however, seemed to have no remorse for his actions. >> He got his cuffs to the front. >> Yeah, cops are in the front. Got his hands. So, what are you doing? He's like, scratch my balls. >> Please have my phone. >> I tell you, I got you. >> So, say they disrespect me. >> Hey, I got you. I got your phone, man. >> We're good. >> I got your phone, bro. >> Why'd you move the cuffs in front of you? >> Because my bank, >> I don't give a >> I don't care. I'm not getting you back out now, but if we get you to the station, you cause any more issues. >> It's done. It's a wrap. You already just fought with us. >> I didn't play. I was just trying to get >> We told you to put your hands behind your back. >> I was scared for what though. >> You're full of description of a retail >> took off running from Target. We have witnesses saying you jumped on the bus. We have witnesses saying you jumped on the bus. >> Yeah. All right, that's fine. >> He's We're waiting on him. >> Who we waiting on? >> The the the video or something? >> We already have a video. >> Is it me? >> Yeah. >> I know y'all lying. >> Okay, I know yall lift the car. >> Okay, >> I didn't just comfort. >> So, why were you all sweaty when you were just sitting on the bus? >> I wasn't sweaty. I was just hot. I'm glossing my face. >> It's very cool outside today. No reason. >> No, that was sweat. >> Why are you hot? Your face greasy? cuz your your forehead isn't greasy anymore, >> right? Cuz that was a little altercation he just had on his phone. >> All right, that's fine. Whatever. >> The cops here were getting increasingly irritated with the man. Not only did he calls the scene and delay a public bus, he was also overly worried about the cops disrespecting him. And it's incredibly ironic that he's so worried about the officer stealing his phone when he himself just stole a bunch of electronic items. >> How was this one? >> We already have video and we have a witness coming. So, it's done, dude. It's It's done. It is what it is. >> All right. Say if this do it without y'all suspect, what's going to happen? >> You get charged with a retail and now resisting. You fought us. >> I didn't fight y'all. >> So I wasn't fighting. >> Then what do you think that was? >> I was just trying to go get >> You were trying to escape. >> You were trying to escape. That's resisting. >> Fighting though. >> Okay. Well, escape that. You're trying to escape, which is resisting. So that's the charge. >> So where resisting res? Maybe if you if you literally stayed there and we got the belongings back and it's like even if it's like a couple hundred bucks, >> they probably would have just let you go, >> right? They probably would have let you go or maybe even a ticket and that'd be it. >> Yeah, I got his phone. >> I had his phone in a bag of cars and stuff in there too >> in there. >> No, I got in my pocket. >> Oh, you grabbed them? >> Yeah. >> Am I being charged? >> You're going to be? Yeah. So I wanted to come >> possibly. I don't know yet. >> For what? >> The officers determined the man had already been caught in Chicago and gave the cops a false name there. They already knew he was going to county jail since he had two charges already. It's a hell of a shame he decided to risk prison over just a few PlayStation controllers. >> What's up? >> Yeah, bro. >> I told you we got your phone, BRO. >> I DON'T KNOW why you're that up >> tight with this phone. All right, come on. What did they say? They get the stuff they claim that I took. >> Did they get the stuff? We going >> they saying they get it back? >> They claim I took they retreat they >> Yeah, we gave back to Target. >> Everything back to Target. But that doesn't mean that you ain't getting off the hook. You know what I'm saying? >> That's what I'm saying. I didn't do anything though, sir. >> I You can say whatever. >> Can I just at least see to confirm? >> There ain't nothing to confirm. >> Like this is my phone, sir. Please. >> Nope. >> Cuz I don't sit down. >> I know my phone. >> It is in here. You're not getting it. >> I don't need the key. What do you need to see it for? >> I want this all these. >> Nope. >> So, why you got people tonight? >> No, because you just tried to see it, sir. It's here. I had it. Can I get this one? >> This is your phone. >> Is it not? All right. >> The suspect was charged with retail theft, possession, and resisting arrest. We hope the man learns his lesson and does not repeat his actions. But if he does, hopefully it's on something worthwhile and useful instead of mindless video game merchandise. Walmart definitely gets its fair share of human drama. And as Forest Gump would put it, it's like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're going to get. On the 16th of January 2023, two shoplifterss at Walmart turned a minor charge into a complete disaster. >> How you doing? Better come back inside the store. >> Pull up hurts. >> What you mean? >> Come on. That's not fair. my purse. I just paid for everything. >> What you mean what I paid for? I came here. >> Just go back inside. >> Give me the purse, >> bro. Don't start. You don't got to grip. >> Back up. Back up, man. Okay. Stay right there. Unless you Unless you want to be a part of this cop, bro. Back up. That's fine. >> By the time the officer could catch up to the female suspect, she was back in the store already shouting. She was incredibly angry and it looked like she was arguing with herself. Judging by her emotional state, things are not going to go down easily. >> Go down this way. >> Ma'am, I'm going to go right here to this. >> Step over here, sir. Step back this way. >> I'm not I'm not detaining you, sir. Please step over this way. >> My stuff. >> No, you cannot stop. >> Why you can't get me? >> Because I'm not stopping you. Okay. >> So, can I pay for my stuff? >> I'm going to have you step over here. >> Let me pass my stuff. >> At the moment, the officers giving the young man a free pass. The cop figured it was the female who was trying to shoplift. It's admirable that the man here, who we're guessing is the boyfriend, is supporting his partner. But if he's not careful, he might get in trouble as well. >> You're going to go into the office. You're going to wait here for her. She's going to come out to you. Okay. >> It's [clears throat] cool. >> Inside. There's a bench over there. Please have a seat. >> He shut that door. Lay some seat. >> Okay. So, have a seat. >> You want some socks? Go ahead. Go ahead. Ain't nothing else in there for you. >> Okay. >> Ain't nothing else in there for you, baby. Ain't nothing else. Do you have a ID? >> No, I don't. >> You don't have a ID? >> Okay. >> The officer then goes through the bag and asked the woman about the socks. According to the suspect, the bag with the socks was already opened, so she just grabbed a handful. First, she claims she scanned them, but then she said she didn't. It just doesn't make much sense. >> This is going to be on your receipt that you just had. >> It's going to be on my receipt. I paid for it, too. You won't pay for the >> No, if you already paid for it, I'm going to get the receipt. >> Okay. So, who will get it? It's for Okay. You want to [clears throat] pay for it? >> No, no, no. It's either on the receipt or it's not on the receipt. Is it on the receipt? >> It's not on my receipt. You >> I watched you put it in your purse. >> Okay. So, you want me to pay for it? >> I know. You pay for it at court. Okay. Well, you did. It's called shoplifting. >> Okay. So, can I pay for it? >> And that's why you being stopped. No, we're beyond the point that you can't pay for it. Okay. >> Okay. So, what do you mean? I'm at the court. I pay for it. >> Exactly what I just said. >> I can't pay for nothing. Can I call my >> ma'am? Please have a seat. >> Can I pay for myself >> again? Please have a seat. >> Okay. >> Thank you. No, you cannot pay for it. No, you cannot call him >> because you >> I can't pay for it. I want to go to my daughter. You serious? >> Okay, listen. >> I love my baby. >> Okay, I understand that. No, you can't pay for it because you already tried to steal it. >> I never tried to. I promise you everything. I never [screaming] tried to steal it, bro. >> When the suspect realized she was probably going to jail, she started unraveling. If she really had a baby at home, she should have thought about that before she decided to shoplift. She started yelling incessantly and her boyfriend was getting riled up. So the officer called for backup. >> Can you open up a 665 at the Walmart? I have a female design in the office. Can you start another rolling? Have a seat right here. Now >> have a seat. >> Have a seat. >> We're going to be in the AP office. Um the boyfriend is outside knocking on the door. Man, back up the door. Back up off the door, dude. Back up. Like I said, back up. You're going to end up going to the jail now. I'm trying to tell. >> Okay. I'm trying to tell you, man. Back up. Okay. >> Yeah. Bro, I'm trying to tell you. >> I'm trying to give you the opportunity not to go to jail. Okay. again. >> Back away from the door. >> Tas, bro. >> Sometimes when they realize they're going to jail, suspects freak out. But this guy did the opposite and even baited the cop to tase him. >> Yo, we'll go ahead detain him. >> Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. [screaming] >> Get back. Get back. [screaming] >> Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. [screaming] Don't touch me, bro. I'm not resisting, bro. Kevin, stop. Please, >> I'm not resisting. I broke that thing, bro. >> It's okay. Stop. >> I got weed in my pocket, bro. >> The young man had weed in his pocket. Yet, he was still reckless enough to antagonize the cops into detaining him and searching him. That's just beyond dumb. The worst thing was that at that point, his girlfriend probably wasn't even going to jail. You >> going to jail though? No. But what happened? >> Well, if she would have been acting like an idiot and listen to what I was telling you. Oh, man. I'm bad. You didn't tell me nothing. I'm hearing her crying. I'm thinking she freaking out. I don't know what's going on. I'm hearing her cry. That's all I'm hearing. I would know what's going on. >> That she stole some stuff. >> I didn't know she stole nothing. >> Okay. But I told you that she did. >> You didn't tell me that. Never told me that. >> I did. No, you didn't. >> Right here at this store. That's okay. >> You never told me that. You didn't tell me nothing. You said give her back to give her back the purse. That's all you told me. I never knew she told anything that Come on, bro. >> Have a seat, Kevin. >> Talk to me, bro. Real. You need to talk to me, bro. >> Yeah. Put your feet inside. I'm going to take you to the county. You going to jail. Put your feet inside. >> Going to jail for >> Put your feet inside. >> Going to jail for you. Tell my child. >> Put your feet inside, sir. No, I don't. Put your feet inside. >> Tell my child. Okay. Could you do me at least one favor, please, bro? >> Could you please get my gun up? I thought you were going to jail. That's it. That's all I >> All right. Put your feet in the car. I'll come back and talk to you. >> All right. See, we'll just talk to you, bro. I'm calm now. >> Here, just take a seat. Take a seat over here. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. >> I just I just got here. So, take a seat for me. >> All right. Just take a seat for me. >> All right. Breathe. Breathe. >> Now, the shoe's on the other foot, and the young woman's now the one being hysterical over her boyfriend getting handcuffed. But suddenly, she completely changed her tune and was no longer aggressive. Nevertheless, the cops have a job to do and her cranks falling on deaf ears as it should. >> I pay for everything else. I pay for everything, bro. Please. I pay for my I for the only person that's been there for me. Please. >> Good. How are you? >> I don't have anything else. I don't have clothes on. >> Okay. >> I pay for everything else. >> It's still not acceptable to steal from the store. >> I'm sorry. Can I just pay for it? >> It's up to Walmart. It's not up to us. >> It hurts. I don't have nowhere to go. Apparently, these two love birds are homeless. That's why they took clothing and blankets. And though the officer mentioned earlier that the boyfriend had previous altercations with law enforcement, the woman had a warrant. In the end, she also got a charge for shoplifting and her lover boy was charged with resisting arrest. Charges aside, at least they still love each other. 200. >> As romantic as the kiss was, they're still going to jail. Let's hope these two love birds get their acts together and find a better way of displaying their devotion than getting arrested together. Get ready for this next excuse, because this one is even more unbelievable. On the 2nd of August 2023, the cops were called to a Target store about a woman named Robin. The cops got the woman's details and then explained the reports they had that she was trying to leave the store with stolen items. >> So, it was brought to our attention that you purchased um food, but you had other items >> that you were leaving with. >> I wasn't leaving. I hadn't walked out the store yet >> cuz you saw us. >> No, on camera. That's what it looks like. Well, that's not what happened. >> Okay. It doesn't look like the Red Bull is on here either. >> Mhm. I scanned the Red Bull. >> Do you have your receipt? >> I know. I scanned the Red Bull. That was the first thing I scanned. >> Okay. He had a different another receipt, too, that had printed. I guess it printed out two different times. >> Can I see your receipt? The cops checked the woman's receipts and explained to Robin what the problem was. She was leaving the store and had already passed all points of sale. Her excuse was she was headed to the bathroom, but that's not how it looked on camera. They explained to the woman that she'd be trespassed from the store. >> I'm not seeing other I mean hotel. >> I know that was I was going to come over. >> You go what you customer service? >> Why would you go to customer service? Well, because I need to return something. >> You need to return something. >> Okay. Usually when you do returns, you're in your first year. >> No, not if I have to go figure out what I wanted. >> Yes. Us. >> What are you returning it to? >> That's how I always did it. >> What's your What are you returning? >> Oh, I already had it with the um the filter. >> So, you already returned it? >> Well, I gave it to them to hold on to. >> So, if I go ask them, they're going to confirm that? >> I don't know. been making that pretty convenient. >> Robin asked if she could take some stuff to her kids, but the officers asked her to wait while they checked out her details. They noticed a backpack in her cart that she'd filled with items. And like everything else she'd done so far, she had an excuse for it that was truly out of this world. >> Is this your backpack in here? Don't Don't pick your stuff out of the cart. >> Just wait. >> I told you you're not going anywhere until we confirm your information. So, you might as well just put it down. >> Is this your backpack in the cart? This is it. >> Target back. >> Did you pay for it? >> You did? No. >> Pay for it. So, what were you going to do with all of that stuff? >> Put it down. >> Yeah, cuz why would you put it inside the backpack? >> Because it was too full. >> People usually don't shop like that. >> I didn't have room in my cart. If you saw me, >> not a normal way of shopping. >> If you saw before, I didn't have room in my cart. >> There there's plenty of room. >> Yeah, >> we understand that we shop, too. We know how to fill a cart. We know how to do this. So, the things that you're telling us, we know how to return items. >> None of that makes sense for a reasonable person. >> I guess I I guess so because loading a backpack up of stuff that you're going to walk out with. You saw us looking at you over here as Lost Adventure was talking to us. So, you decided to walk this way. See if maybe you can just get by us. Like, maybe we wouldn't notice. >> No, we didn't. >> Maybe by chance we weren't talking about my stupid kid do that. >> Of course you saw me. Robin stuck to her story that she was heading to customer service when she was stopped by police. She then had a string of new excuses about why she took the route she did. And as you might have guessed by now, the story she was telling was pretty darn flimsy. >> And I also wanted to get a Starbucks. >> You weren't going to use EBT with a Starbucks drink. Are you talking about this? >> I think you need to see that >> and what it's identity. >> So, what were you going to do with that stuff? >> Put it here. Ask them to hold on to it for me. >> I'm waiting for my sister to get here. When is your sister supposed to get her? I don't know. >> The cops here were not buying her story. It was clear from security footage and the way she was behaving that she had no intention whatsoever of paying for the backpack and the items inside it. >> Um, go ahead and put your sister down. >> Put your put your drink in there. >> Why? >> Take this off. >> Why? You for shopping. >> I'm not shopping. >> Do not resist. I'm not. >> If you want an extra charge of resisting, then you can continue. >> Do not resist. >> Do not resist. >> That's an extra charge. There's four of us here. up just a little bit. >> Why? >> Why are you trying to keep us from your purse? >> Come on. Stop. Stop. Stop. You're getting close. Hey. >> Huh? >> Yeah. It's on It's on the Stop, ma'am. >> Oh, you guys are >> We're not here to hurt you. >> Let me go. I wasn't shoplifting. I didn't walk out of the store with it. >> She continued resisting arrest, but the cops had her pinned down so tight, she wasn't going anywhere. Eventually, the cops got her sitting upright and she was taken into custody. I wasn't even shot this girl. >> Okay. Well, you can you can talk about that in court. Okay. >> Stop trying to take those cuffs off. Ow. >> Good. >> Ready? One. You're going to get up on three. Okay. Let's take it to the front of the unit. Check anything. You think it's going to poke us stab us? >> Yeah. With the woman safely secured, the cops went to talk to one of the employees. He told the cops what he'd seen and that it wasn't the first time she'd been caught stealing. >> So, where did she get to? >> She made it all the way. You guys were walking up right here. >> Uh-huh. >> I'm surprised you guys didn't see him. She was right here. Made it out the door. So that that's this is where I stopped here. I was like, "Let me see your seat. Let me see your receipt." And then you guys came around the corner and she's like, "Nope, I paid for it." And I was like, "There's coffee right there. I'm not going to play this game with you." So, >> and then that's when did she walk like around this way? >> Well, she went right back. She's like, "Let me show you. Let me show you. I didn't print out a receipt. I paid for it all." I was like, "No, you didn't. Let's go get a receipt then real quick so we can make sure." Went back. And that's why she's like, "Don't do this. Don't do this." Then she's a repeat offender. I'm a manager with Robertson's right here. Have both of them I've been at and I've stopped her before doing the same damn thing. She'll pay with her food stamps or the food items and push out $500 in other items. So, repeat offender. I already knew she wasn't recognized as soon as I walked out here. So, >> she could claim she was innocent all she wanted, but the evidence here and the witness statements pointed right to the same crime. They charged the woman with shoplifting and resisting arrest. On December 2nd, 2023 in Savannah, Georgia, the cops were dispatched to a Target store. Reports came in saying a mother and daughter duo were trying to [music] steal from the store. When the cops arrived on scene, the suspects had not been apprehended. Gabby still lives on them. >> Yeah, >> you're still back there. >> Yeah, they're back and toys. Um she saw them put something else in the cart, but um she's in there. >> They're kind of like they've already put stuff in the bag, but because obviously that they're here, I have to make sure that it's still in there. So, I just got to wait for them to come back out and obviously castle points to sell with it. >> Well, they already put in the bag. They already shown a tent to conceal. >> Yeah. Then like for us, it's always like what if they're using it to just like carry the stuff before they check out? But I mean, they're known, but like still we have to give them the benefit of the doubt until the absolute last minute. But what they do is they go to the selfch checkout and then like they'll pay for some of the stuff in the bag and then they'll leave the other in the bag. um really just have to wait and see what they're going to do. >> Instead, the loss prevention employee continued detailing the pair's motus operandi. As they were worried the women might run from them, the cops called for backup. Once backup arrived over the radio, they were given detailed descriptions. >> Two white females, one's 80s, she probably wouldn't take too far. Another one's she's skinny, but she don't look like she's a track star. Blue jeans, red top. Red and black top. >> Yeah. The the big girl is all black, blue hair. The skinny one is What's she wearing? >> Red. >> Red and black jacket. >> Like a red and black jacket. >> Blue jeans. >> Finally, the moment came and the women checked out their items. And sure enough, both women did not scan some of the items in their bags. The cops wasted no time whatsoever heading to the front of the store to catch the not so sneaky shoplifterss. The two women, however, had very different reactions. >> Hey, stop. Come here. >> Come here. >> Come here. Come here. >> I paid for my stuff. >> I paid for my stuff. See, it's right there. That's my bag. >> I was holding a receipt. I apologize. >> I paid for my stuff. >> My stuff is the wrapping paper. >> You're absolutely right. We both messed up and I >> What do you My stuff is a wrapping paper. My Marcy is right there. >> I'm so sorry. >> I'm so sorry. >> My stuff. I paid for my stuff. >> That's That Yes, I did. I literally just watched you at the POS system. Stop lying. >> That is my stuff in the bag. The wrapping paper is mine. >> That big old bag. >> No, the wrapping the parking bag with the wrapping paper is my stuff. >> What about the not >> That's not my stuff. >> I watch you. >> That's a lie. >> I watch you put items in there. I've been in here the last 30 minutes. >> Check it out. Target's got like 500 cameras and they're very good. >> And she's awesome. I'll pay for it right now. >> This is too late. >> As you can see, the blue-haired woman, Jasmine, became immediately defensive when stopped. Whereas the other woman, the one in the red jacket, folded pretty quickly. She was extremely apologetic, but it was way too late. Soon enough, she started panicking. >> I'll pay for it right now. I swear to God, I don't have the money. I can do my own. >> Stand up your phone. >> Real quick, do you have anything on your hand? >> No, I don't. I have my phone. >> No, I only have my phone. >> I can pay for it. I swear I'll pay for everything right now. >> Okay. >> No, I'm scared. I'm so scared. >> You weren't scared when you were stealing. >> I I don't know. I don't know. >> For real. For real. Your feet for me. Is this your current ID or you have ID? >> No, I don't remember. >> I've never done this before. >> That's my current ID. >> I'm sorry. >> Do you have anything you want me to poke the stick? >> No, it's my mom for me. >> Everything. I promise I'll do it right now. I'm so sorry. I don't want my husband to lose his job or something. I'm so sorry. >> Are you in the yard? >> My husband is? >> Your husband is? >> I'm so scared. Please, I'll pay for everything. >> Take that. >> Please. >> Well, that was not a smart move. Okay, >> you're right. And I'm so sorry. And I'll pay for all of it. I really don't want him to get in trouble. He doesn't know. I'm so sorry. >> Your husband's not under arrest. You are. >> The woman was worried that when word got out her military husband would somehow lose his job due to her shoplifting. She wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Next up, it was time for the cops to identify the two thieves and then figure out how much they'd stolen. >> Where's your ID at? >> It's It's in my car. It's >> in your car. >> It's in my car. >> You're just going to name everything? >> I have both my driver's license and it's very ID in my car. So, >> what's your last name? >> Harding. H A R D I N G. >> What's your first name? >> Brandy with an I. B R A N D I >> Yes, sir. >> What's your date of birth? >> 1222 911. >> 122.91. >> Uhhuh. >> Can we You said your card's here. >> Will be there all weekend. >> Does it have to stay there all weekend? The battery is going to die. >> I hate to say that. It's just >> It It depends if it's missing or felling. The felony has to stay until at least Monday to get armed by a judge. >> If it's time, >> does this stay on it forever? >> Yep. So, >> looks like it's that one. >> Yeah, it's not. >> Okay. So, it's a misdemeanor. So, what's going to happen is you're walk >> since it was under $500. Thankfully for them, the charge would only be a misdemeanor. The older woman, Brandy, was concerned about her car and having it parked overnight, but having her car battery die should have been the least of her worries. >> You'll be able to bond out uh leave shopping through this $1,000 bond with agency. It's $1,000. >> With their their fees, it'll be $1,300. If you go through a body agency, you only pay 30. >> What if I stay the night? >> How long the night? >> Yeah, it's on the front. >> Huh? Where's your husband? >> He's at home with the kids, but we don't have enough money to pay for that. That's why >> I don't know if I stay in jail how many nights? Like, >> probably they probably release you one night. >> Okay. While talking to the officers, this very strange duo revealed that they were neighbors and they'd known each other a while as they'd lived on military bases with their families. You might think these military types would have better morals, but apparently that wasn't the case with these two. >> What's the total? >> 337.81. >> Oo, almost. You're that close to a filling. >> Pay it. >> You probably get back on post for a couple days after that. >> Yep. >> How long? How many? >> We're going to jail. >> Oh, wait. No, that's Wait, they both look together. >> I'm sorry, ma'am. >> No, that's 162. That's 158. >> I'm sorry. So, she is 158 and she's 162. [snorts] Goodbye. >> Did you call Did Randy call Tony? >> No, I don't want him to know. He's He's going to find out. Like, I don't know what to do. >> I don't know. I don't know. >> It's 313. >> I'll figure out. >> Mom, >> what do I need to do? >> I don't know. I'm saying if I go through a bailing a bonding unit and I pay the 130. How does that work? Can I do that? >> Mhm. >> No. So, you'll pay the bond agency back. You'll pay them 10%. Um, but they put the rest of it up. If you don't go to court, you get taken back. But if you go to court, then it's just your 10% in. >> While on the phone with Jasmine's mother, the cops explained how a bond works and the pros and cons of staying in jail overnight versus paying the bond. Since they lived on a military base, Jasmine's mother informed Bradley's husband about just what had happened. >> Hello. >> I'm not so good, honey. I'm so sorry. I didn't [laughter] >> I'm scared. [laughter] >> Listen to me. >> Hey, I'm going to come down there and help me figure it out. Okay. >> You have to They're taking me to jail. You can't come here. >> Yeah, I know. >> Soon enough, it was time to take these two to jail. While they both ended up being very regretful, there was no excusing their actions. Brandy and Jasmine were both cooperative with the officers, even though at first Jasmine was not very compliant. >> He had seat. >> Okay, >> let's get the belt right there. >> Yeah, it's fine. We just go slide into it. >> You're backwards on these cars. >> Okay. >> All right. Just slide in or put your feet in >> as best you can. Try to cuff and adjust them. >> Yeah, they're very tight. >> Yeah, >> you can. Uh, slide. Put your back to me if you can. >> Okay. Is there a way that I can put my hands in front of me? My should I have a leg that should >> unfortunately our policy is that we're not allowed to do that. >> Okay. Step on the other side. >> [laughter] >> So, they're going to search you again, sir, if you want to stand against the wall. >> They were both placed under arrest and later charged with retail theft. Like we said, being the family of military members, they shouldn't have been stealing, and they clearly should have known better. On April 27th, 2024, the cops got reports of a shoplifting incident at a Dillard store. When the cops arrived on scene, the suspect here, a female, was already attempting to leave. >> Hey, sir, can you open your door? >> Okay. Put your car in park and take the keys out. >> Put the car. Can I see the keys? >> Yeah, I do. >> Thank you. Step out the car. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> No. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> No. Can I just give you back? >> Turn around. Put your hands back. >> No, ma'am. Can you just read me my rights, please? >> I ask you one time. Turn around. >> Are you taking me to jail? >> Yes, she be the taint. >> No, I'm not. >> Hey, call this woman embassy. >> Turn around. >> No. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can't be used. >> Your right to lawyer. You cannot afford to hire a lawyer. You wish. Anytime you exercise your rights, ask questions. You understand your rights? Do you understand your rights? >> Yes, sir. >> The merchandise that you took out the store. Where is it? >> Where is it? >> It's in that dealer's bag. >> The officer retrieved the bag of stolen goods and asked the suspect if there was anything else in the car. After the driver and the suspect confirmed there wasn't, the cop put the suspect in the back of a squad car and then went on to talk to the driver. >> You have anything on you? I should know. >> No. No. Go through everything. I got no drugs, no alcohol. >> Turn around. >> I'm not trying to fill you up. I'm paying you. >> Fill me up. I don't care. >> Can Let me talk. >> Yes, ma'am. >> I'm going put my thumb in the middle of your bra and I'mma pull it away from your body. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. Pull it. Pull it. >> Have a seat. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Sir, I honestly really don't know. >> You have what ID on you? >> I don't know even know what happened. >> She in the military. >> I don't I honestly don't know what happened. She just told me to go the opposite way. I really swear to God I'm not. >> So when I was walking up to you, you was going >> I was going your way and then she said go the other way and I was just yelling at her like what the is going on. Can you tell me what's going on? >> She stole she's under rush. >> Can I uh give her my so she can call me. Are you taking her down? >> Yes, I am. >> Can I write my >> You got a driver's license? >> Uh I lost it. I just have that. >> Can I go inside uh where she was at? >> Yeah, absolutely. Convinced the driver had done nothing wrong, the officer let him go. She then drove back to Dillards with the suspect in the back seat. The suspect started telling a very sobb story, saying she had a lot of problems and that her brother had just from an overdose. She then started talking about her work. >> I take care of a handicap man and I have to go to work tomorrow. They pay me 17 bucks an hour. It's the first job I've had in a long time. I've been so depressed about my brother. I swear to God. Please you don't care. Huh? >> I ain't saying I don't care. >> Please just let me go home. I'll never do it again. I won't even ever come back to the mall. >> I know you got you going to go to jail. You come back. That's crazy how you want to walk on me. I actually put you in his mic. First of all, this a cake. I walked into the car. The man was coming towards my way. He back up some more. He going to surround me, right? I get you out of the car. I asked you put your life back. Then they wanted to get tased and I had to turn you around. That's crazy. >> I've never been arrested. I didn't know what the hell I could do. Honestly, I don't know what I'm supposed to I was like maybe I can maybe I can refuse this. I don't know. >> That that was that was that that was okay. Well, I was scared. >> Yeah, that was definitely that's an extra charge. >> I'll never come back. You can look at my brother's what just happened. All I was trying to do is get out my head and do something nice. I haven't had money in a while. I've been grieving and I finally got a job and I work tomorrow. I can't be in jail tonight. >> You can look at my dog too and my record, my background, everything. I've never been arrested. >> After parking at the Dillard store, the officer searched the suspect's purse looking for ID. The suspect said there was no driver's license because she had LA wallet, which is an app in Louisiana that basically is a digital driver's license. So instead, she gave the officer her code, telling her to call one of her family members or her attorney. >> I need to call an attorney or or my father. Please >> just give me Yes. Yes. Whatever that means. Revoke them. Whatever it is, arrange the rights or whatever. >> Basically, that means that you you don't want me to question you. Oh, I don't I don't You can ask me anything. You can have everything. I just need to call somebody. >> Be quiet. >> And I have an attorney. His name's Banni. >> And then I have to find >> She's taking me to jail. >> No, I'm not. >> She's taking me to jail. >> She not giving something. >> All right. So, the the paper she read to you, you want to sign. Okay. >> So far, the suspect seemed cooperative and signed the paperwork like she was asked. She was then taken to the station. When they got there, that's when she really started showing her true colors. >> I see you back. Thank you so much. >> Walk down. A little bit more. >> Turn your body, please. Tell [clears throat] me what to expect, please. >> Are you the lady I'm supposed to be talking to? >> You're not the lady I'm supposed to be talking to? >> This lady won't talk to me at all. >> Okay, thank you. Can you please hurry cuz this girl will not talk to me. >> Oh, you're going to have to wait till she's finished doing her paperwork. While they were handling the paperwork, the suspect started asking one of the officers just how long they'd be detaining her. She made more accusations and the arresting officer stopped talking to her. Then when the second officer went away, she had an absolute meltdown. >> Oh man, what the Get that girl back. Please get that girl back. Who is she? Please go get her. Hello. Hello. Go back. >> Can she Can I talk to you through this video camera right here? >> Ma'am, does that camera work? What is wrong with this run? This one cop I got. I'm the worst one, dude. What the [ __ ] Ma'am, can you just tell me how much longer you think I'm going to be in this like tight position? Cuz my wrists are I'm losing circulation. How about you help me with that? Is it going to be 20 minutes? Is it going to be 45? Is it an hour? Please get her back. >> Are we done with you? >> What with that other thing? >> How long am I going to be right here? >> It hurts still. >> Can I call my attorney, please? I want to revoke my invoke my rights. >> Did you hear me? Did you hear me? I would like to invoke my rights. Why can't I do that? Why? So all of a sudden I'm the only person that can't have can't invoke my rights. >> You have a right to basically shut up. >> Already in full-on Karen mode, the officer was trying to get her to shut up, but she didn't take notice. The officer maintained her nononsense attitude while the suspect continued her tantrum. Then suddenly the suspect's attitude took a very strange turn. >> Please get this [laughter] girl back in here. What is her name? She's the only nice. >> Is it going to be 2 HOURS OR 3 HOURS? JUST TELL ME. Why won't YOU TELL ME? WHY? WHY DO YOU HATE ME, DUDE? I didn't do you. Do you have children? You musting not, dude. Not. Oh my god. Was not God forgive you. For God forgive this woman. Jesus Christ. God forgive her. [gasps] HOW MANY HOURS? >> GO BACK OVER THERE and ask why you >> ma'am. Ma'am, [screaming] tell me how many hours should I I laid out and closed my eyes. >> After asking God to forgive the officer like she was the one in the wrong, the suspect then called out to a male officer, asking the man how long she'd be detained. The woman's opinion of the arresting officer appeared to be getting steadily more twisted as she called the officer evil for ignoring her antics. She eventually decided to lie down. >> Okay, I tried that. I don't know how to do it. Can I get out this way? Can I do it? Put him in the front. >> You sure? >> Is that going to be some charge you can hit me with if I do that? Or if I can't do it, can I do it? >> I said no. >> Can you just situate my arms so that I can lay down if I'm going to be here at midnight? Can you just help me situate my arms so I can like close my eyes? And I'm in so much like my throat hurts. I'm nauseated. I'm distressed. Like, help me just lay down or something. I can't get him back up. What? >> The suspect here still seemed to be struggling to wrap her head around things and still had the impression someone was coming to help her and that she was in a position to make demands. She'd soon be learning that wasn't the case. >> I'm not trying. You can come buckle back. Okay. I just can't. I'm stuck. >> [sighs] >> You can go put them back together. >> Hi. >> Are you here to help me? >> Am I here to help you? >> Yes. >> You're not You're not the one that's here to help me. >> I I don't know what you need help with. >> Oh, she won't tell me anything. She won't talk to me. >> Well, you're under arrest for theft and resisting an officer if that's your question. >> I I did hardly resist. >> Did you steal? >> I did. Okay. Well, then that's why you're at jail. I don't know what help you're looking for, though. >> No, cuz they said that they were going to put me into booking. >> Yeah, you're going to boo jail. Yes. >> Yeah. I mean, but where are they? >> Well, that's what is about to happen. >> Where are they? Are they busy with the festival? >> Oh, dish. Thank you so much. going to walk to that door. >> Can you wipe my tears? >> No, >> you can't wipe my tears. >> No. Can you wipe my nose? >> No. >> Stay right there. Face it. You stay just like this. >> They charged the woman with resisting an officer and also theft. Maybe this time in jail would give her the reality check she clearly needed, and it might help her see that childish behavior gets you absolutely nowhere. On May 22nd, 2023 in Washington, police again responded to a Target store. Apparently, a customer had been trespassing and assaulted a worker inside the store. >> So, what's going on? >> So, we wanted that this girl trespass. She was doing out here. Um, we asked her to unplug her phone, leave the premises. She said, "No, I'm not doing it. I have an important phone call." And then she comes in the store and we asked her to leave. She assaulted my store director. >> Okay. in the belly like punched him in the belly or whatever and threw a bottle of water. >> Okay. >> Does like does that person want to pursue assault or >> the target worker led the officer to the employee office. He was then greeted by staff members who'd watched the entire incident on security cameras. The assault victim explained things to the officer and showed him footage of the suspect. >> How's it going? Good. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Did you find her? >> No, I just got here. >> We were at another call. So, >> this lady with a dog. >> Where did she hit you? >> Just on the side. >> Okay. Was it like a punch or what did she do? >> Like an open hand punch, I would say. >> And where out on the side? >> Just right here. >> Oh, okay. Did it cause any pain? >> No. >> Okay. >> Can I just snap a photo of that? The suspect would have been easy to identify due to her dog. However, the officer still didn't have a clear picture of exactly what happened or what the woman's motives were to assault the manager. The victim explained his point of view so the officer could determine whether she was in the wrong or not. >> She was mad that she started her phone on the outside and we couldn't she couldn't do that and told her she was no longer welcome here cuz she didn't want to move along. And then 2 minutes later she's telling me, "Oh, now she's in the store trying to buy stuff." So I said, "Ma'am, unfortunately you're no longer welcome here. You need to leave my store." And I told him that they didn't need to get her her hot food cuz she needed to leave. And >> so she was at the deli. >> Yeah. And then what? [music] >> That's when she walked over and she grabbed the uh sushi >> seeds. >> Sesame seeds, turned around, threw them at me, and then that's when she >> she hit me with the sesame seeds. >> She hit me with the sesame seeds and then that's when she pushed hit me and then she stopped towards the front of the door and she >> better than sesame seeds like a bottle or a package or what? >> Little bott little jar. >> Okay. >> And then >> glass or plastic? plastic. >> I can show it to you. >> That's okay. >> And then uh she picked up a large one liter water bottle and chucked it against my face and exploded everywhere and stormed out the door. >> Okay. All right. >> So, you want to pursue property damage as well. >> I don't know what would be property. I mean, >> well, she broke a bottled water that was for sale. >> Yep. Okay. >> The officer left the Target store after speaking to employees. Good to his word, he looked around for the suspect, but wasn't really expecting to find her. >> Hello, ma'am. My name's Officer Watkins. Just to let you know, you're being audio and video recorded. Is there a reason that you slap the manager? >> I didn't slap. >> Okay. So, let me be clear that you're under arrest and you're not free to leave. >> You're under arrest and not free to leave. Do you understand that if you run, fight, or flee, that force could be used against you? Do you understand? So, do you have ID on you? >> No, I just got you. >> Okay. Well, I need to positively identify you and then probably give you a citation. >> What's your first name? >> No, I have my dog. My dog's not going to go anywhere. >> So, you're going to go to jail and your dog's going to go to the pound unless you comply. Do you understand? >> No, he's not. >> Radio to David 44. >> I just got here. I just walked up here. So, there's no way I've slapped anybody inside. >> So, I've advised her she's under arrest, given her advisements, and she's just not complying. But I'm tempted. >> I just got here. What the are you talking about? >> I can't be more clear. You're under arrest for assault forth. >> Assault fourth. When I just >> What is your What is your first name? >> No. When I just walked up. >> Okay. When another unit gets here, you're going to jail. When another unit gets here, you're going to jail. >> We'll make it simple. You and your dog can go to jail. Not together. >> Trying to identify who you are. So maybe I can. >> I just got here. >> So you're not going to do cuz my dog's not going anywhere. >> My dog doesn't want to go. I just told you where it was. Yes. Are you always this pleasant? >> No, I'm just [ __ ] got here. What's your middle name? Something I didn't do. >> What's your middle name? >> Figure it out, bro. >> Good for the officer for being so direct when dealing with the suspect. It's pretty clear this rude woman does not know how to act around law enforcement. Nor does she think the law applies to her. She seemed to think that just because she had her dog with her, the cops wouldn't arrest her. She would quickly find out otherwise. >> That's your only opportunity. You're not somebody. >> You're not free to leave. Anthony, I need my dog to free. >> Can you take me home so he can take my dog? >> Please, >> somebody come grab her dog. >> Can you take my dog? Anthony, do you know who Anthony is? >> His name's Anthony. >> You know who? >> Please. That first New York. >> Yes. >> 44 long. You're under arrest. Have the right to an attorney. Can't afford one. One will be appointed for you at no cost. If you would have talked to me like an adult human being and said that you want someone to come get your dog, I'd have worked with you. I honestly like dogs and we're the most people. But you had to do what you did. So that's how this is going now. Got anything on you that you're not going to want introduced to jail? >> No. I have my purse and my my coat. That's it. >> Get in. This ill-mannered woman was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and assault. She deserves every bit of jail time they gave her, but definitely didn't deserve her dog. Hopefully, the canine finds a safe home, and the owner gets a lesson in humility and respect towards officers. While that couple stayed madly in love, we can't [music] say the same for this next couple. On March 16th, 2024, police were dispatched to Walmart for what seemed like a usual shoplifting case. Little did they know they were going straight for some lovers drama. >> Turn the car off. Step out of the car for me, will you? >> Come on around here, my man. Come to the front of the car right here. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Ma'am, you're over here with me. Don't reach back in the car. Come over here with me. Turn around. Put your chains on your back. All right. >> You're detained right now. Okay. Give me these. I'll set these up here. >> Reason we're here, um, these guys work Walmart asset protection. >> Yeah. They said we were staping some things. >> Yep. >> I was. Can I give it back? >> Concealing items. >> Can I give it back? >> Huh? >> Can I give it back? >> You didn't give it back? >> Yeah, I give it all back. >> We'll have to >> take care of some things. >> In a surprising twist, the man didn't deny the theft or try to talk his way out of it. He admitted to taking the stuff right away. As the officers and the loss prevention agents review the stolen items, the man kept apologizing for his actions. >> I apologize. Sorry, man. >> I mean, I I'm quit making a lot of bad decisions like throwing my mouth my life out and miss my kids and I life up and start going down the wrong path from here. >> No, Columbus. >> Yeah. >> Is this you? Yes. >> Yeah. Okay. >> You guys got the drill and the king. Yes, sir. You got the door. >> That's mine. Yeah. Everything else is mine. >> Hey. >> Hey. I know. I know you're nervous, but just just relax. All right. We'll let you know everything that's going on. But right now, you just detained. Okay. You're not under arrest. You're just detained right now until we figure figure out this investigation. Okay? So, just relax. >> You know, I know you there's a lot of questions right now. >> Yeah. So, >> the suspect looks really anxious. Could it be that there was something else going on? Maybe he was so quick to confess to the shoplifting because he didn't want the investigation to go on much further. So, the cops might find something worse. The cops will find out soon enough, but for now, he's playing it cool. happy. The most peace I ever had in my life was living here with this woman. >> You know, just [music] peaceful and, you know, truly genuinely I felt good and was happy, you know, and all I did was I stopped smoking cigarettes and, >> you know, stopped hanging out with the bad people and, you know, started really living my life for God. And >> that's that's the big key, man. You got to leave. You got it's people you hang around. >> Yeah. The suspect shared a heartfelt conversation with the officer, and it makes you hopeful that he genuinely wants to turn his life around, but this story is still far from over. Both suspects are then taken into Walmart, where things take a serious turn. They're both trying their best to keep a poker face, but their involuntary blinks and facial expression just might indicate that they're hiding something. >> One thing we do, this is typically an arrest, okay? But we're not taking you to jail. So that summons is like your it's like an arrest. So, we're going to do the same thing as we normally do as an arrest. Part of that is making sure you don't have anything you're not supposed to on you. Okay. Do any of you guys have anything you're not supposed to? Any kind of drugs, needles, >> paraphernia, anything like that? Okay. >> Well, here's the thing. Use the van for a commission of crime so I can search the van. That's why I'm asking. Is there anything in there? >> I didn't know. Not you know. The cops made it look like they were about to search the suspect's vehicle, giving them a chance to come clean, but the truth was they'd already searched it and found all kinds of stuff. They were trying to give these love birds a chance so they could do the right thing and confess. >> All right, so in case you didn't understand what was going on there, we found some paraphernia, drug paraphern. It's where you were sitting. So I'm going to ask you guys again whose is it? And remember, you are, you know, remember you're still u you still been advised your rights, so you don't have to tell us, >> but this is your chance to to tell us if you want to. >> Okay. So, what is that? >> Yeah, >> a black bag. >> It's a black bag. It's got a pipe in there and some other stuff. >> Hang bag off your seat. >> Off my seat? >> Yep. >> I know that. >> No clue. This is hanging off the off a bag off your passenger seat. I I don't usually [music] show my pocket. >> Okay. You was in the passenger seat and all your stuff's over there. >> Yeah. >> Is it yours? >> No. >> Yours. >> Well, I guess it's yours. >> You probably caught that little smirk from the female suspect when asked who it was. Though both suspects kept shaking their heads with that faint look of surprise. They were clearly covering for each other. So, the officer switched tactics. Deciding now was the time to divide and conquer. He separated the two, hoping that one of them might finally crack under pressure. >> Come out here. Talk to me. Come out here and talk to me for a second. >> So, this is not our first day. We know what's going on. Okay. You're being charged with it because nobody's admitting to it and it's in your possession. >> It's in your general possession of that car. I'm going to get charged with an angel. >> Who's it? >> Huh? >> Because it doesn't matter. I'm going to get charged with any. >> Not necessarily. >> Not if it's his. Are you willing to take a wrap on him or what's going on? >> You're on probation, right? Represent a disability. You're not supposed to have firearm, right? >> In addition to the drug paraphernalia, officers also uncovered a gun, which only added to this woman's mounting troubles. Surprisingly, she didn't try to blame her boyfriend for any of it. Now, let's see how Lover Boy handles the heat in the same situation. Remember, of course, just minutes ago, he was sitting there singing her praises, saying he'd never been as happy as he was with her. >> So, I was talking to her and for one thing, you got a solid girl in there, man. She ain't giving you up. >> It's not mine. And look, this is still this is still you're still Miranda still applies. You don't have to tell me nothing. Okay, >> you don't you're you're in handcuffs. You're under arrest. You don't have to tell me anything. I just want to throw that out there right now. I'm just asking one last time. >> Who's that? >> It's not mine. >> She's under disability. She's on probation. >> It's not mine. >> Go away from that door so she can't hear us. >> She can't hear the sound. I can hear >> I can hear out there right now. >> You hear what I was saying? >> Yes. I hear everything you guys are saying. But I was talking to him and said, "All right, what up? Come on. Come on." >> The young man was clearly nervous, worried his girlfriend might overhear him snitching. What he didn't realize, though, is that on the hidden files, every secret eventually comes out. So, make sure you're subscribed so you never miss a thing. Now, let's see what the boyfriend has to say. So, she was talking to she used to talk to this guy named Macho. Okay. And her and him broke up and she stole this. That's where the came from. I promise all my daughter's life. >> It's her. Yes. >> So, she Okay. >> I don't want to tell you guys that though because that is my girlfriend and I do love her with all my heart. But I mean, >> I'm just going to be straight with you. She's going to get charged with it anyway. Whether you guys didn't tell me whether you didn't tell me that or anything. She's going to get charged with it cuz it's in her possession in the car. >> I'm not going to lie and say it's mine and she stole it from some dude that she was talking to. >> All right. That's all we want to know. And I know I get it. I worked. >> Don't tell her that I told you. >> I worked No, I'm not going to say anything. I worked in jails and prisons. I know I know about the snitch thing. I get that. >> Yeah. I'm not Don't I do not want her. I'm telling >> I get all that. So, I'm not gonna We want to make sure we charge the right person. >> She doesn't know a lot of dope boys and she could hurt real bad. Like, and I ain't trying to, >> you know, get she stole somebody's gun and I told you guys that it was hurt. >> All right, we're going to play it off like she's in she's in constructor's possession of it cuz nobody's admitting to it. That's why we're going to play it off. >> I didn't tell you guys nothing. >> I got you. The snitching worked except for the part where it's supposed to be a secret. The body cam footage exposed everything. The boyfriend was charged with petty theft while his girlfriend faced the same charge plus possession of a firearm and drug paraphernalia with intent to use. On the 16th of August 2023 in Roswell, New Mexico, police responded to a Walmart store after loss prevention employees reported a woman trying to shoplift. When they arrived on scene, they found the young female suspect in the parking lot walking to her car. >> Where you going? >> Okay. Let go. Let go. >> Let go. >> Come this way. >> Please. No. Please. Let go. Why? Why? >> You my arm. Why? >> I'm not hurting you. >> No, please. >> Stop. >> Please help me. >> Stop. Put your hands behind your back. [crying] >> No. Don't be tight, please. Owie. I don't know what's going on. Please tell me what's going on. Please, please, >> it was obvious to the officers that the crying act had worked for the suspect's entire life as she'd perfected saying embarrassing things like, "I want my mommy and owie." However, the cops weren't going to let her get away with shoplifting just because she kept crying all the way over to the loss prevention office. right here. >> Are those sunglasses wrong, dude? >> Yes, I do. >> Here, stand up. Your hoodie is too. >> Yes, it is. I'm sorry. paper at all. >> No, please. >> What do you use? [gasps] >> Huh? >> What do you use? >> Um, I've tried the those pills. >> What pills? >> Yeah, I don't. >> Are there in here? >> I don't know if there's any in there right now. I don't know. I'm not going to say that there's not, but I don't know. >> Like it was my friend. She let me borrow it. I don't know if there's anything in it right now. >> Shut that down. >> Sorry. >> In addition to fentanyl, the suspect also admitted to using since she was an active user, it might explain her dramatic and irrational behavior. At this point, the cops had to find out who she was before they could apprehend her for the shoplifting. >> What is your name? [singing] >> Not a very good name. Do me a favor. >> Why are you being so mean? You have to let me breathe. >> Take a deep breath. >> I'm being super nice. >> Why is he being so mean? >> Let me talk to you. >> Take a deep breath. >> He said, "Wow, such a great name." That's mean. >> Tell me your name. >> You should be nice about it. >> What is your name? My name is Cheryl. [crying] I don't want to go to jail. I'm scared. [crying] I'm sorry. >> What's your last name? [snorts] >> And I was supposed to be Cory yesterday. How do you >> I didn't know it was yesterday m. >> All right, take a breath and talk. >> Sorry. [crying] >> S U M [snorts] >> R O W I have to make one. So, you just roll it and then fold it up like the ball. >> They identified the suspect as 19-year-old Cheryl Sro. She was a bit of a basket case since she missed a court date the previous day. Additionally, they found foil papers inside her bag, which she used as a pipe. It seemed like her shoplifting wasn't unbecoming as her behavior was already questionable. >> Are you on probation or anything? >> No. No. I was supposed to do it for court yesterday though and I wanted I wanted to be able to tell the judge that I didn't know that the papers said it was this I thought it was next Tuesday. He had me out on or >> I think he said something about on >> I don't know what that means. >> Well, you don't have a warrant. >> The woman wanted to make it extremely clear that she wanted to show up to her court date, but she didn't know the correct date. Despite her shady behavior, it was clear she was scared. They asked the woman why she was freaking out and she said this was her first time in real legal trouble. >> I'm freaking out. Why? >> Because I've never been to jail and I don't want to go to jail. I'm scared. >> Poor choice today. >> I'm going to go to jail today. >> More than likely. >> Oh my. >> Who's the guy you're with? >> Huh? >> The guy you're with. What do you mean? >> There's a guy you were walking around the store. I >> didn't walk out with anyone. >> You didn't walk out, but you were walking with somebody the whole time. He was an older guy. >> No, he was just walking like near me. I mean, he wasn't walking like >> So, he followed you throughout the store. >> No, he didn't follow me. Okay. He's my friend. And he was kind of like talking here and there, but he was like kind of like, you know, on his own mission. >> Cheryl claimed that her friend had been out buying glasses from Walmart that day. The cops figured that he might be an accomplice, but later discovered that he'd paid for his items. So, it looked like Cheryl was going to jail by herself. >> Where do you live? Are you homeless? >> Right now, yeah, >> kind of. >> Yeah. >> Where do you live with? >> It's like I'm entertained at some places right now. >> Okay. >> I'm sorry. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> I am. I'm sorry. Mhm. >> They're still going to have trespass. >> You know what I noticed a lot? People are only sorry after they get caught. It's pretty crazy. They're not sorry why they do it, but they're sorry when they get caught. >> I do feel sorry every time I do it. I do it. And I don't know why I do it. >> I don't know. >> It'd be like stabbing somebody and just going sorry and then continue stabbing them. Does that make sense? Well, I mean, have you ever heard of, you know, have you ever heard of a therapist say that, you know, those things can be an addiction? >> Shoplifting. >> Yeah. Shoplifting can be an addiction. >> So, was hard and I don't want I don't want to do it, but [laughter] >> I find myself doing it anyways and I don't want to. I know it'll get me in trouble. >> What therap What therapist do you go to? >> No, of course not. I'm not saying it is. >> You just have to. >> Yeah, I used to go to whatever. What therapist do you go to? >> I don't go to a therapist anymore. >> You go to a rehab, >> huh? >> You go to a rehab? >> No. >> Probably should. >> Cheryl explained that a few months prior, she'd quit her job at Waterburger because they weren't paying her enough. When asked what her current job was, she told the cops she wasn't working due to ID issues. Finally, it was time to take Cheryl to jail. You want to? >> Yes. You want the back? >> No. No. They should come. >> It's all right. Maybe you can close it. >> They arrested the woman and they charged her with lararseny. Reportedly, she'd stolen a hoodie, a cross body bag, a couple of bras, and three thongs. As of a year ago, her case was still pending. Some of these thieves just never learned. One such crook was caught shoplifting at Walmart just 1 month after she was last arrested. >> So, the reason we have you in here today, this OC, >> this organized retail crime? >> I don't know. Mhm. >> Are you booing for anyone? >> Oh, no. No. I just I just I just got my first apartment. And >> what's your middle name? >> It's my my dad's initial M. >> Okay. >> I know. I know you're an officer and I know you can extend courtesy and I know I made a mistake, but please please don't tell me to count me. I I'll go to court. I'll do community service. I'll pay the friends. I know I up. If you guys need to put me on a on a payment plan that I need to come here and pay everything, I'll do whatever. Just please don't send me to county. I've never been to jail and I just can't go to county. I can't do that to my parents. I don't want to tell them. >> Made me be embarrassed. >> Well, you should have saw your parents before you started. >> I messed up. I know. My aunt's an NYPD officer. So, if you can extend any courtesy for me and just take me to jail, I'll deal with every other consequence that I have to do. >> Have you done this before? >> Um, I did it once. Yeah. I think Target. >> Were you arrested for it? >> No. >> And the Walmart? >> No. Walmart? I never got arrested for it. And it was not above like $300 >> a month ago. Yeah. >> The suspect said that after a previous incident at Walmart, she'd been taken to jail in Oklahoma City was taken into court where the case had been dropped to disorderly conduct. The officer explained to her that if she had a conviction in the last 10 years, she'd be going to jail. >> Like, I have to go to jail. >> As you $900, I have to go to jail. I will You can >> If you don't have a conviction, then you'll have to do that. But, >> um, I don't I don't think I don't have a con. I don't think I have a conviction. Well, then you're not you're probably not going to. >> But if I do have a conviction, can you take me from me? >> No. >> How will you know if I have a conviction or not? >> We're looking up. >> And there's no there's no courtesy you can extend for me to not >> Absolutely not. You're stealing. >> I know. I know. People make dumb mistakes. >> Well, there's consequences when we make bad decisions, right? >> And I'll make up for them in any other way. Just I don't want to go to I don't want to give I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to give >> Did you have a total yet? >> That's the last case number from a month ago. Did it say the amount on that one? >> This one was 31576. >> The suspect plead with the officer to not take her to jail, saying she was already working on becoming a better person. But given it had only been a month since her last arrest, it was pretty hard to believe the woman's promise of self-improvement. >> I know it's when when you when you don't have money and you're trying to make ends meet, you're you don't know what to do. >> Okay. I know a lot of people that don't have money that make ends meet without ceiling. >> I know. I know. And and if my phone turns back on, like my lawyer made me make an appointment with my therapist and discuss it with them to like I can show you all of that and like I'm a good person. I'm an honor student. I can show you that like this is just my first time living alone and I Bro, I know I up I'm being stupid. You can do anything. Just don't take me to jail. Please, you can give me a fine. I'll do community service. I'll do anything. So, y'all are going to be trespassed from all of hearts. You guys did it literally a month ago. >> Is that forever? >> Um, it's for 2 years. >> The suspect then tried a different tactic and asked the officer if she could pay back some of what she'd stolen after starting her new job at a local pharmacy. Sadly for her though, the cop said it wasn't up to him. Moments later, a Walmart employee came in, receipt in hand. >> How much was it? >> Seven people. >> Okay. Was it a thousand? >> What was it? 750 >> $7.50. >> I know. 750 was 750. >> Okay. So, it wasn't a,000. Okay. >> So, the the 750 is the total amount that she took. Is that right? >> So, I think you're going to keep me in jail. >> 750 is not looking good. >> It's not a,000. So, please >> I'm just telling you're pretty That's pretty close. >> I know. I know. >> It wasn't like in in the stuff about you being broker that that >> No, I know. I know. I know. You're you're taking rugs and >> I know I'm just taking house stuff like a vacuum, a mop, like you know, and I know 750 is not, but you know, it's not it's not a thousand. So, if you can just give me that cuz it's not a thousand. Please just extend any kind of courtesy. You can't. >> It's not about courtesy. [snorts] >> I know, but you said a thousand. It's not >> said, thousand is a felony. We arrest people a lot of times for stuff that's not a felony. >> Okay. >> The cop was having trouble finding the suspect in the system. Turns out she'd given the officer a fake name. When he explained she'd be heading to county and laid out exactly why, she still seemed to believe she could talk her way out of it. >> So, deal. Um, >> are you giving me a false info? >> No, I didn't give you false. >> That could be an additional charge. Okay. >> Wait, but I gave you I gave you the correct spelling of both names, though. >> Bottom line is $691 worth of stuff. You're going to county. Okay. >> Okay. No, you've done this multiple times. You ob you just got arrested for it a month ago and you just did it again, which shows us that you have absolutely no contrition for what you did. >> I know >> you weren't stealing essential items. >> Vacuum, a broom. >> We're not talking about it. >> You're going to jail. Okay, >> but can I say something? My lawyer My lawyer told me that if it's not if it's below $500 that I don't have to go to jail. >> Your lawyer doesn't make decisions on who >> Okay. I'm sorry. I don't I don't mean to offend you or anything, but >> please all I I I I know you want I know you want to take me to county. I know you do, but please >> why would I want to do that? >> Because you're doing your job, but I AND I RESPECT THAT AND I respect that. But I also know I also know if I don't know like how this like there's someone ringed above you or anything. If he was able to give me a chance, he would give me a chance. Oh, can you give me can you give me that chance? >> In a very nice gesture, Walmart would allow the suspect to keep her car in the parking lot. While this meant the cops wouldn't have to impound it, the suspect would have to call someone to pick it up because of her trespass. When it came to the items she'd paid for again, Walmart was pretty [music] lenient. >> We're going to refund the items that you paid for, so they're going to take care of that. >> Is Can I keep the items or No, >> I mean, you're going to jail. You're not going to be allowed to have them there. >> Can I just like I put put them in my car key cuz I'll take my car key with me. >> You take a switch. What do you actually pay for? >> Yeah. So, I I think they're cutting you a break by giving you a refund. >> Okay. Can I Can I say one thing without you hating me? I know you already hate me right now. >> I don't hate you. >> If you have Yeah, you might have kids. You might not have kids, but >> we're not we're not going to keep If you could just extend the courtesy for me if your kids made a mistake. Please don't do this to me. >> I'll purge anybody. >> It'll break my parents' heart. Officer, please. Please give me a chance. Please. >> Um, yeah, we should be good to go. >> Officer, please. My aunt's an NYPD officer and she tells me she extends courtesy to people all the time because >> Okay, I I would really appreciate if you stopped said courtesy because it's not a courtesy. You just stole $600 worth. >> I know. And you made a mistake and I'm aware of it and I want you to know I'm aware of it and I and I will whatever you want me to do, I will show you changes actively. I will I will do it. Please, >> we should be good to go. >> The woman's pleading got her nowhere. They charged the woman with larseny of merchandise, but despite all of her crying and her promises that she was working on her mistakes, just a few months later, she was again caught shoplifting and that time they charged the woman with grand lararseny. On December 27th, 2024 in Flaggler County, Florida, police responded to a Palm Coast Target store regarding a theft. Supposedly, a man was called by Loss Prevention trying to steal beer from the store. Stop. Stop. Stop right now. Dude, you better stop. I'm telling you. Better stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop the bike now. Get off the bike. Hey, get off. Get off. >> I'm telling you. I'm telling you right now. >> I do. >> Get off my gun. >> You get off. >> I'm going to tase you. >> Get over me. >> I'm going to tase you. >> I'm going to tase you. >> Seriously, stop, >> dude. Let go of my gun right now. >> I'm going to shoot you. >> Please. I want >> I'm going to shoot you. >> I really am trying to get shot in the head. >> I'm telling you. >> Instead, >> I'm going to what you're trying to do. >> Well, I got to GET HIM OFF MY I GOT HIM. >> You stop. >> Seriously. [clears throat] >> No. Let go. >> Stop. >> of my gun. >> Stop. [laughter] Stop. >> Please stop. Please. Please. I'm not going to hurt anyone. >> I'm just trying to get away. >> You're not getting away by holding on to the gun. >> I'm telling you to let go of my gun right now. I hesitate to do this. >> Stop. >> Please help me. Stop. >> Let go of that yourself and let go of the gun, man. It's a good thing that guy in the black shirt was around to assist the officer in deescalating things. And it's pretty strange the thief thought grabbing the officer's gun would make things better. His next moves, however, were even more strange considering he was begging the officer to let him go. >> Roll over on your belly. You're going to get tased. >> You're going to get tased. >> Please let me go. >> I'm telling you, you're going to get tased. >> You're going to get tased. >> I worked for you guys. Shoot me in this. I don't want this. >> You're going to get tased. >> Let me go. >> All right. Stay back. Just stay back. >> Get down. >> Get on the ground. >> Echo 226. Tanganger deployed. Roll over on your back. On your belly. >> Roll on your stomach now. Stop it. Get on the ground. Stop. Get on the ground. >> Stop. Stop. >> Stop it. You're going to get saved again. >> Stop it. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground now. >> Stop it. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> NO. >> STOP. >> Get on the ground. >> Roll over. >> Get off. >> Stop. Stop it. >> Stop. Stop it. Give me a cuff. Give me cuffs. >> Sir, please. >> After the officer secured the man in handcuffs, they took some time to recover from the chase. Everyone here, including the original officer, seemed a little bit surprised that the taser had to be used considering he only stole a six-ack of beer. It was the right call, however, considering the man tried to run after attempting to grab the officer's gun. >> We need to go to the hospital. >> Yep. Ambulance is coming. Hospital's not going to keep you from going to jail, though. >> I'm just trying to help you guys. >> Not by punching at me. You're not. >> I don't know what I was thinking. >> You good? >> No, he tried. >> Appreciate you. >> Which one of you gentlemen was here when I was trying to retain my gun from him? >> Both of you. Believe me, I was trying to get the taser out, but unfortunately I needed two hands on that gun. [laughter] >> I appreciate [music] y'all. >> If you wouldn't mind just standing by so I can get some information from you. >> Just waiting on an ambulance to get here for him. >> Okay. >> Jeez. >> He was ripping the probes out. It was >> a good spread. >> Yeah, >> one of the throws, I think, might have missed her. He ripped it out over here. As I'm pulling up, I just see you like, "Oh, man." >> Well, these two gentlemen here were holding him down while I was trying to retain my gun. Oh, he had two hand grab on it, pulling my gun out. >> He's fine, right? >> He's on something. Then he took took an elbow [music] at me, swung at me a couple times, and that's when I got him down to the ground. These two gentlemen were here. Finally, I got the taser drawn. got his hand off my gun, got a taser drawn. I pushed them off and [music] let him get up so I could tase him. >> The loss prevention officers were there to confirm and retrieve the stolen merchandise. Shortly after the officers debriefed the situation, an ambulance arrived for the suspect. The task of finding the taser probes proved more difficult than the team anticipated. >> I didn't the serial number. He wants me to go to Target and see exactly what he's told. >> It's the mic's heart >> and that's it. >> That's it. I'm just going to double check with him if he wants me to double check. >> Yeah. So, you [music] want to collect that. >> What's your name, sir? >> What's that? >> Do you have any medical? >> Say it again. >> Psychosis. >> Do you take medication? It's down by [music] his butt somewhere. >> He was hit twice by land only twice. >> I think only one good one good. >> Yeah, just where's >> it? Was in. It's probably He probably probably fell out. He's probably laying on >> Well, there's a lead going that way. >> Fire. >> Yeah, he thinks he got >> He was ripping the probes out as it was sparking. >> He's definitely got one under him. Okay. >> Yeah. >> We're going to get you sitted up. All right. >> I definitely shot all four probes. >> It was important to locate the probes for two reasons. First and foremost, it was important to make sure that the suspect was safe from puncture wounds and rashes. Secondly, they had to ensure the probes were all bagged for the force report for the case. Since during the struggle, the suspect had ripped them out. It was a prolonged surge. >> All right, we're gonna get to a seated position. Okay, >> there you go. >> Need your help. >> Hey, bud. This going to hurt. Okay. >> What's that? >> Oh, I got my workout in. >> Wiggle your toes for me. >> All right. So, you have psychosis. Do you take medications? >> Okay. Okay. What do you take? >> I don't know. Not in the face. >> What kind of psychosis is there a medical diagnosis that's associated with it? >> Like schizophrenia? >> Yeah. >> I mean, he may have hit me in the arm when he swung his elbow back, but I don't remember. >> Assault battery resist with retail theft. Yep. and resist without >> that might be pushing. >> We'll just do resist with. >> Understandably, the cops were shaken up and very annoyed at the suspect's actions. So, it's no wonder they were including every possible charge. They recognized, however, that they had to be fair and did their best to treat the man respectfully and provide him with medical attention. >> Oh, dude. He was all over. Two hands yanking it back. It was upside down >> as I was trying to get my taser out. Hey, we're going to we're going to stand you up. Okay, give me a favor. Bend this knee up. Got to bend this leg. >> All right, help you up. >> Yeah, he was ripping him out as it was sparking. >> So, he's on something. Hang on. Sorry. >> All right. Okay. >> The suspect was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, petty theft, and resisting arrest with violence. They booked the man into Flaggler County Jail where he's still serving time. Hopefully, the suspect gets the mental health he needs for his psychosis so he doesn't have to take a tasing again. On the 19th of May, 2023, Walmart agents did most of the leg work, apprehending an unruly shoplifter and then simply called the cops to pick up the suspect. But that proved to be a challenging task on its own. Safe to say, the suspect wasn't exactly thrilled about things and she wasn't afraid to say it. Man, if you grab me that hard, >> I'm telling you, you will walk with me. >> You will. I will. >> You want to play this game? Let's go. >> I'll drag you out to the car if you want to play that way. >> Are you walk on your own two feet? >> You're a joke of police officer. >> This side. >> You're going to have a real lawsuit on your hands. >> Perfect. >> Let go of my arm before I seriously involve him. >> You going to threaten me now? >> No. >> You want to catch another charge? to my arm. >> You want to catch another charge? >> Why don't you let go? >> Get in the car. >> Whoa. >> Get in the car before I throw you in the car. >> I really hope someone's recording this because you are >> It's all on recording. In the car. >> Get in the car. >> Get in the car. >> Oh my god. >> You can already tell the suspect's a real piece of work. By the looks of it, the officer is about to have a really interesting and likely annoying ride to jail. As they say, it's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. However, before the cop can even get in the car, there's a problem. >> 13, can you come back out here? She slipped the cops. >> What the back you doing? >> I'm telling you, >> what are you doing? >> I will pay for everything. I >> That's not how this works. >> I have two kids. You're going to jail. Thousands of >> Going to jail. >> I'm not going to jail, man. >> I have enough against me. I don't care. >> I will do anything. >> You got both cups off. Ripped them right out. And she's trying to push the door open on me. So, >> well, she pissed all over. >> Yeah, I thought about that for a second. I just haven't searched her because of the female thing, and so I just don't want to leave her too long without that. >> Sir, have a lawsuit on your hand. >> Get out of here. >> You're out of here. No, you're out of here. You just smashed my fingers. Get off of me. Get the off of me. You smash my fingers in the door and I will you so hard. >> Stop. >> Are you gonna keep going? >> Jesus. >> She also cried. So >> No, I did not. >> Yes, she did. >> Look at my fingers. You're being cute. I'm not joking. >> What is so complicated about this? >> Oh, you know what's so complicated about it? You smashed my fingers in the goddamn door. When people like this realize it's game over and that there's no way out, they resort to insult and making outlandish threats. Belittling others makes them feel more important than they really are. And based on how things are going so far with this particular suspect, it's likely going to get worse before it gets any better. >> This is Walmart, you piece of [ __ ] >> Stop moving. Do you understand me? >> Oh. Oh my god. No one needs 11. >> He's just got me by the throat. >> I don't have you by the throat. >> You had me. That's not by the throat. You mother >> Stop. >> You >> get in the car. >> Look at what you did to my fingers. >> You were punching the dang door. >> You >> get in the car. >> Out of my way. >> Really? >> Get in the car now. Oh my god, you guys are so I'm a white woman. Look at what the you're doing to me. >> Sit down the >> out of my seat. >> Sit down. >> Jeez. She's not only a Karen, but an idiot as well. This woman's just showing how ignorant she is by suggesting she should be treated better just because of her skin color. It's nice to see though that the officers keep their cool and just do their jobs. How am I supposed to sit down IF I CAN'T >> YOU WON'T GET in the car. I give you the opportunity. >> Look how you're acting. >> Look at my kid. You >> get in the car. >> I'm here for my kid. >> Get up on the seat. You're doing great. >> I'm doing great. >> Yep. Come on. Get your feet in the car now. >> All right. >> All right. There's a battery charge. >> The cops are probably eager to take her to jail. Get this thing over with. But before that happens, she's got to be searched. The cops decided to wait for a female officer to arrive so the suspect doesn't get more agitated. As if she needed a reason to do that. >> You better let me out. >> No, you're going to jail. >> What? >> You're going to jail? >> Going to jail for what? >> Battery on me now. Stealing from Walmart. Do I got to keep going? >> What? >> I'm going to keep going if you keep acting like this. It's absolutely ridiculous. Two mother kids, people they can't even provide for. You must be so proud that my kid won't have milk or [ __ ] You're a piece of godamn. I swear to God. >> Super duper feisty. >> Hey, come on out. >> While the female officer conducted the search, her colleagues were discussing the possible charges. The problem was she was shoplifting with her son and the dispatcher can be heard in the background talking about them not being able to find any family members available to pick her son up. >> Dad drives a silver Jeep with black wheels. We found family members nearby. Try them. >> You made a bad decision. >> If you want, you can decision for her. She just was fighting pretty bad. You picked calm down. >> All right, we're going to get going up to the jail. >> The woman had calmed down a bit by the time they started going to jail, but actually she was just being silent while trying to get out of her handcuffs. Since the female cop had loosened them, she once again managed to break free. Jeez, here we go again. >> There a reason why you slipped out of your handcuffs? We'll be stopping and putting them back on. The female officer was trying to be nice and give you the cuffs on so they weren't squeezing down on your wrists. >> I'm going to need some assistance to put these handcuffs back on. She's slipped them again. >> Um, you may want to put all the gloves on. She's already peed herself once. She's threatening all sorts of things. >> Got another pair. >> Yeah, she's slipped her cuffs now twice and two different people set them. So, they're going to have to be set a little bit tighter. >> You ready? >> Step up. >> Great. Thanks. >> Turn around. >> That's a little too aggressive, sir. >> No, he is being aggressive. >> I get it. Put your hands together like a prank. >> Praying. You got to wonder if that's even in this woman's vocabulary. It's hard to tell if she's a god-fearing type. If she were, she probably wouldn't have found herself in this predicament in the first place. >> Are you okay? You have like superhuman strength or what the is wrong with your arm there? >> Uh yeah. No, that's not going to work. >> Well, you keep slipping them. >> I don't give a [ __ ] >> I do. >> Loosen them both up. That's absolutely >> Oh, you don't like it cuz you can't uh you can't go >> here. That's too hard. >> Strip this one out. >> You need to stop seriously grabbing me like that, >> sir. Stop. >> No. >> You want to get like again? Stop. Come on. >> It's way too hard. >> All right. Well, stop moving. Have a seat. Let's see. >> Come on. All the way. >> All the way in the car. >> Yes, ma'am. Okay. >> All the way in the car. Thank you. >> She's a nice nice lady. >> A nice lady? She was not. She bered the officers, insulted them, and threatened them. But at one point, that too had to come to an end. On the 18th of April, 2024 in Panama City, Florida, the cops responded to a theft in progress at a selfch checkout. When the suspects tried to leave the place, they were met by police and Walmart's loss prevention. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And if you go in there right now, she got hit on her shoulder. >> Okay, we're going to figure out who's got what here. Who's got IDs? Pull it out. The officers identified the suspects as a 45-year-old man named Christopher Caitlyn, a 20-year-old woman, and a 19-year-old woman named Sophia. Inside the office, the officers and the Walmart employees rummaged through the merchandise trying to find out what was stolen and what they paid for. Who had this one right here? >> Shop bags. We just keep nothing in there but merch. Advanced retail pep techniques. While the cops and employees continued searching, a female officer was asked to search the women. While it's not mandatory, typically female officers search female suspects to make the suspects more comfortable and so as not to be too intrusive. >> All right, have a sit down. So, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to be searching both of the females. Do you have anything on you that's going to poke me or hurt me? Is there anything that I should be aware of if you were to go jail that they find that you will get additional charges? anything that you hid on you person while you were in Walmart. Are you 21? It's even worse. That could be a turn for him, too. >> Thankfully, it's only like a $15 buy. This is where your Where's your car match at? It's a good thing the cops searched these two because they both had contraband hidden in their clothes. The male officer then searched the male suspect, but he didn't have anything hidden. Next up, the cops figured out the total amount of what they'd stolen. 514. Okay. >> All right. Send it up way back. >> So, what's uh what's the bird that he's going all three? >> What's this guy hanging out with these two young kids? I mean, they're not like kids, but they're like they're basically kids. >> Yeah. >> What's he doing hanging out with them? >> Teaching them wayward. Well, actually, I would say uh >> is teaching him and the other one to do. She's all the cop, right? [snorts] Or maybe she's just really bad at it, but she's getting all want to get caught. I'm sure they've all done it before. The one sitting in on the chair facing Peter M. She's so nervous that her karate is like pulsating in the neck. >> The cops here raised a pretty good point about 45-year-old Christopher. He was hanging out with these two females who were too young to even legally drink. The cops speculated that he might have been showing them the ropes on shoplifting. And if that was the case, it was a very bad sign. >> They're all going. >> Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to them, but they already have outstanding warrants for FTA or signal 48 signal 31, so they ain't going to show up, >> right? I'm going to go ahead and put them in cuffs. >> All right, ma'am. on your back. >> All right, boss. Go ahead and stand up. >> Can you turn your wrist? That does not look comfortable. All right, ma'am. Stand up for my purse. It has >> hands together like a prank. You think I'll be in here long? >> No, it's a misdemeanor shoplifting. >> Probably be in there maybe tonight. Probably have first appearance in the morning. >> Okay. After chatting with his colleagues, the officer escorted all three of them to the local jail. Even if they were a little emotional, the suspects here stayed compliant. Clearly, it was Sophia's first time going to jail. And by the looks of it, she wasn't taking it too well. That being said, she didn't cause a scene. Next up, they were escorted out of the car and into the jail to be booked. Come on out. Walk around. >> You think you can slide out this way? Y'all go line up by the door. Okay. All right, boss man. You're going to step on the red footprints. Ladies, y'all are going to go in the holding cell. Okay. They charged all three with misdemeanor theft. As far as the young girls went, chilling with Christopher was probably a bad idea, and clearly they shouldn't have been shoplifting with him. They'll hopefully learn from this and cut the man off for good. I don't need to go to jail for not stealing and shoplifting. If I shoplifted, you took the items. >> I don't have to get I don't have to be in prison. >> On September 23rd, 2023, the cops were called to a Walmart store in Chambley, Georgia. A young woman had been taken to the monitoring room and didn't seem to understand why she was there. The cops had to explain to her that she'd been caught shoplifting. in Walmart. We just here to enforce the law. It's up to Walmart. >> Will I not be able ever to come back to Walmart? >> That's up to Walmart depending on how much merchandise you actually So >> you taking mask off. You take mask off. >> I do. I put face mask on purp. >> Huh? >> I put face mask off for >> regarding that mask she was wearing. She kept giving the cops excuses that didn't add up. She said it was a designer mask, which had little to do with her claim that the mask was used for religious purposes. The cops explained her charges, which were shoplifting and trespassing, and she denied being involved. >> I didn't trespass anything. >> I didn't trespass anything, sir. >> Am I getting in trouble for >> Yeah. I don't have anybody to contact. Please don't take me to >> Do I have to pay a fine? >> Do I have to pay a fine, sir? I didn't steal anything. Obviously, he just took it. So, why am I not being having a warning? >> That's totally up there. >> The Walmart. Yeah, I don't need to get arrested for Walmart. I don't I shop at Walmart all the time and I pay for things, but I didn't have any money this time, so I I needed a little bit of help, but I don't think I should be arrested. I think I should be like a a warning. >> As they searched the woman, she went on complaining that she hadn't been given a warning. The woman asked why she was getting in trouble when she'd only stolen food she needed to survive. It was an unbelievable statement, and the woman's grasp on things did not seem to be getting any better. >> I don't I don't trespass anywhere. I mean, I pay for items and I come shop if I needed to. This is my first time taking anything like that out of >> Walmart. Her >> with all her belongings in it. >> Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. That's my first time taking anything out of Walmart. Why am I getting this taken off? >> Ma'am, you're going to the cab. >> I need help. Why am I being in prison? And you said it's up to Walmart. Do I need to get >> prosecute? >> Prosecute as in not come to Walmart ever again and pay for my items. >> Meaning you're going to jail for the amount you stole. >> That's $100 that I have in my pocket. >> You should have paid it. >> What am I going to be able to do? Like, how am I supposed to get out of that? Like how long do I have to stay for? >> I don't know. >> I don't need to go to jail for not stealing and shoplifting. If I shoplifted, you took the items. >> I don't have to get I don't have to be in prison or in jail for anything. I'm 19 years old. I don't have any money like that. >> After they searched the woman's bag, they confirmed the woman tried to walk out of Walmart with items totaling $116. She continued asking why she was being arrested as if she truly believed she'd done nothing wrong. >> I mean, still he literally he literally got me. So why am I getting arrested? >> Yes. Why am I getting arrested? He didn't give you no warning or nothing. He give you no warning. >> He does not have to. >> You should have took the items. You passed the point of sale. Yes, you did. You passed the point of sale. You were going to if they would have said nothing, you would have got out scotfree with $100 in your pocket. >> I don't have anything. >> You had $116 worth of item. >> That's 16. I literally don't have anything though. That's the thing. Why didn't I get a warning or nothing? >> They're not They don't have to give you a warning >> for shoplifting. People shoplift every day. They don't have anything. Okay. Why did I get a warning before y'all just arrested me? He said prosecution offer that. >> They don't have to. If it's their item, they don't have to give you anything. >> No, I'm saying they didn't give you a warner. >> They don't have to give you no warning. Arrest war. They don't have to give you a warning. >> They don't just take somebody into custody because they shot. You have to give them a warning. >> No. No, you don't. No. So, so [music] you don't have to give you a warning for stealing. They don't have to do that. It's not your stuff. You took it. No matter how many times they explained it to her, she just couldn't accept that she was being arrested without being given a warning first. [music] You had to admire the cop's patience, especially when rudely she started talking over them. >> So, do I have to pay a fine for trespassing? If I shop at Walmart, do I have to pay a Walmart fine? Cuz if you sending me to the cab, they could do a whole different screening. So, what am I doing? Do I have to go to court for this? Walmart. >> Oh, yeah. >> So, why am I getting arrested? >> Criminal trespass. >> Criminal trespass. I never trespass. >> Hold on. You got to listen. You want >> He's going to answer your question. You got to listen to him. >> Why am I going to listen? Listen. >> But I didn't stealing items. If you came and got me, you could have gave me a warning. Hey, >> get warrant. >> So, why am I getting arrested off the bat? Why am I getting arrested off the back? >> $116. >> It's $116. It's not no big amount. So, >> can I get charged at Walmart? Not the cat. That's a whole different screen. I didn't even steal it. You got the bag and got all the stuff out. >> It was time to head to the squad car. But incredibly, despite all the explanations they gave her, she still couldn't accept she was being arrested because it was her first time stealing. She then came up with one last attempt to claim her innocence. >> I need help. >> Walmart. I didn't even get any of the items. He took the item. >> Mhm. He literally took him. So where am I supposed to be going? How can I get out? >> You'll find you'll find that out when you get to the jail. Okay. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> Nobody wants to go to jail, but here we are. >> They charged the young woman with theft by shoplifting and she was then taken to Decal County Jail. Things might have seemed harsh to her, but maybe she might think twice before breaking the law in the future. On Black Friday in Flaggler County, Florida, police were called to a Target store regarding a trio of shoplifterss having an absolute field day in the store. To celebrate the occasion, three generations of women decided to have a family shoplifting spree. >> How's it going? >> Hey, what's up? >> Welcome. >> Hello. >> Hello. What's going on? Can't speak all of a sudden. Okay, >> this is what she took. >> As the suspect was a minor, her face has been blurred out for privacy. However, the several bottles of wine on the table were part of the merchandise the teen was attempting to steal in her backpack. The loss prevention employee mentioned the rest of the suspects were still on the loose. >> Yeah. So, her parents tell you briefly. >> Yeah. So, this young lady had this stuff inside of that green bag and >> a backpack over here. >> Okay. >> She just decided to walk out. I stopped her. Escort her back here. More information reveals she's with mom and grandma here. >> Okay. >> Mom and grandma did not see me bringing her from points of sale to here. >> Okay. >> So, they're completely out of the loop on that. Um on camera, the mom is putting stuff in her bag/backpack as well. I don't know if she walked out with it or not. When we escorted her back here, that's where our focus went. So, um it looks like the mom is potentially walking around looking for her who's obviously detained in here. With this information, the officer turned his attention back to the young woman. She was definitely too young to be drinking, so the officer was trying to figure out her motives. Most of the girl's audio was redacted for privacy, but she implied she was being used in a shoplifting scheme. >> So, how old are you? >> That's alcohol. >> Put it in your backpack. >> My grandma. My >> They put it in your backpack. I'm confused. Hold on. I'm confused. So, she's got the backpack with her. This young lady? Yep. >> Okay. >> Mom and grandma were putting stuff in this young lady's backpack, >> correct? >> Did mom or grandma put anything in their belongings that they didn't pay for? >> Yes, we believe so. That's what we're confirming right now. >> Okay. >> I'm just trying to figure out the specifics so when I confront mom, >> that was my question, too. Yeah. Multiple items concealed in multiple different bags. Soon after, another officer arrives and he's briefed on the situation by the original officer. It seemed like everyone involved was equally perplexed by how absurd this whole situation was. Eventually, they tracked down the teenage girl's mother and brought her into the office. >> Apparently, it's a whole family affair. >> She was putting stuff in her backpack. Mom's putting stuff in her backpack. Grandma's putting stuff in her backpack. So, we're trying to find out where mom is now in the store. So, I can go get mom and bring her in here. >> I guess we'll just take everyone to jail. Familiar. >> Looks familiar. >> Yeah, it looks very familiar, doesn't it? >> They eventually identified the woman as 54year-old Yolena Regul. She left her ID in the car, probably thinking she wouldn't be caught trying to steal the liquor. While one officer stayed with the women, the other tracked down the final suspect, 76-year-old Tamara Keatley, Yolena's mother. >> Hello, Miss Tamara. >> Yes. >> How are you? >> I'm fine, thank you. >> You need to come with me. >> Uh, >> yep. I have your I have your I have Yolina and your granddaughter. Come on. You can come with me. I'll take this. Come on. >> Come on. going to go right in these doors up here. Come, come with me. >> Oh. Oh, this way. >> Come here. I will push the cart. >> You come with me. >> Grandma here was ready to take off without her family. The officer led this elderly crook back to Target to be reunited with her extended family of thieves. From the way they answer the officer's questions, it's clear these crooks didn't really have a contingency plan. Excuse me. All right, I'm going go stand right over there. Stand right over there. All right, so here's the rest of it. You want to see if there's anything else? That's uh >> Yeah. Do you guys have any receipts for anything today? Did anybody pay for anything at this store today? >> You didn't pay for anything? >> No. So you just walked out with all this? >> This is the from the from the store. >> You didn't pay for any of it? >> No, we just because of the wallet was in my car. That's it. >> That's not a really good excuse. >> That's what I mean. >> You should have waited inside the store with the stuff though. >> That's my fault. I'm so sorry. >> Is this your backpack or does this backpack belong to Target? >> No, this is not a Target backpack. I I don't think it's a crazy question to ask. >> I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. No, it's not from >> Walmart. I'm going to open up and look inside. >> It's almost impressive how terrible these women were at talking to the officers and the Target employees. They were somehow honest about stealing while also acting like they were being wrongly accused when the cops were checking the other items they had in their possession. It took the team quite a while to determine exactly how much was stolen. Poncho. Is this your poncho? >> Is this yours? >> Eggs are in there. And then you mind if I look in here? Get this stuff out. Can I get this stuff out? Our stuff there? >> Oh, wow. There's a lot. >> You're telling me there's no resale? >> No resale, guys. I'm telling you, there is no resale. This is $10. $10 $9. H. >> Where is >> there anything else in this backpack? >> Nothing. >> Nothing. >> Okay. I'm going to put it on the bottom here. >> There's two uh drinks down there on the bottom, too. There's stuff on the very bottom. And >> good hall. Yeah. >> Going with a healthy free ring case. >> Yeah. The good stuff. Not u not the black box though. >> Yeah. >> After careful review, the employees tallied up the stolen merchandise. In total, the stolen goods were worth over $400. While they claimed they weren't stealing to resell the items, it's unlikely a teenager or an elderly woman would have any possible need for that much liquor. You live in New York. Okay. So, you're down visiting for the holidays and getting a lot of wine. Okay. >> This is >> Oh, I that doesn't matter to me. >> Okay. >> Where did you guys come from? >> Before here. >> No. No. Before you came >> before the Target, >> did you just come from home to Target? That's from home. So there's no other stores that you stopped at. [snorts] >> My apologies. Really, I really apologize for this. >> I would like to apologize. >> Oh, you don't have to apologize to me. You didn't steal anything from me. >> Not like anyway. Everyone always wants to apologize after they get caught. >> Before reading Elena her Miranda writes, the cops asked the teenage girl and Tamara to leave the room. They asked the woman a few questions about the incident, trying to find out if it's a one-time scheme or if they'd been running this thing for a longer period of time. >> This is last time. This is this is the first time and the last time I just >> Okay, there's a whole lot of stuff. Regardless, we we'll get to that. Okay. >> Talk talk me through what happened. You came to Target. What happened? >> I came to Target. Then we uh you know I said uh maybe some uh visiting mom you know it's just uh getting to Black Friday. It's a just opportunity to get some um gift for the family for the >> business as I said business partners. >> Okay. because we have a party usually you know Christmas party and other you know just to get back um after family holidays. So being said that what's the best you know just for the bottle to have the wine. It's not a hard liquor or anything. Just a champagne. That's it. >> But when you get things at a store, you know you're supposed to pay for them, right? >> Of course. Of course. Of course. This is unquestionable. It's >> So, let me ask you this. Why? Let me let me ask you this. Why were you putting alcoholic beverages in your 17-year-old daughter's backpack? >> Because I'm idiot. >> Okay. The woman probably didn't think she was an idiot while she was attempting to steal hundreds of dollars of liquor. Next up, it was Tamara's turn to speak to the cops. While Elena, of course, already came clean, Tamara kept downplaying what they did. >> She has a wallet in the car and I stay there and she go back to pay. >> Okay, >> that's what she told me. >> So, why were you putting things in your granddaughter's backpack? And uh this is the same thing if you >> So [snorts] you put them in your granddaughter's backpack. >> Just only Yeah. One bottle. >> Even one bottle. >> Me one bottle. >> Okay. >> Because >> Why did you put it in the backpack? Why didn't you put it in the cart? >> Because she doesn't have a car. This That's what's happening. Huh? >> She uh she's walked with me. >> She used to have a push car, >> I think. I don't right now. I don't remember. >> You don't remember why you were putting >> Because right now No, I I put in a in a in a bank. >> Yes. For my for my granddaughter. >> I put because she doesn't have a Kushka. I think she's uh you know to anyway she's a pay from the box. Sometimes I use if I use bed park sometimes I put it and uh go to register and took everything. >> With Tamara here beating around the bush perfecting her act of an innocent old woman. The cops already had Yolena's statement implying they stole on purpose. Adding things up the officers here got increasingly suspicious. However, the final nail in the coffin came when Tamara started blatantly lying to the cops. >> Why you say it's stealing? >> Because you have Let me finish. >> Because you have things that belong to the store. You walked out of the store to your car with the stuff. >> No, I was without anything >> when I found you at the car. >> She p she have a car. I walk without anything. And she told me, "Wait, I have to go to see the granddaughter." That's what she told me. >> But when I found you out, let let me When I found you out there. >> Yes. >> You had the grocery cart. >> Yes. >> And you had the bag >> that had all the wine in it. >> But I didn't know that. >> They have all wine or something there. I didn't know that. >> I don't know. I don't see what she's was in the in because I was in the bottle. >> So, you're saying she put everything in the bag. >> I just want I put my granddaughter one bottle. What? She uh That's it. Nothing else. And I don't have a car. >> So, how did all the other bottles get in your granddaughter's bag? >> You see, you know, because I was in a bathroom. >> The cops decide it's time to drive these thieves to jail. They were tired of listening to their lies and excuses, and it was way past the point of forgive and forget. Although they only arrested the mother and grandmother, they all got a trespass notice from Target. >> I should probably go get some. >> You can escort her out. >> I will. Okay, >> I didn't take anything. >> Stand up for me. >> I didn't take anything >> except the backpack that was on your back when you walked out of the store. >> Forget about that. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. There's video of you walking out with the backpack on your back with a bunch of bottles of wine in it. >> Just only one b one. Only one. >> Stealing and stealing. >> Don't apologize to me. You didn't steal from me. >> Hang on a second. >> Get a hold of someone. Get her. >> Yes. Yes. Someone's >> coming. >> Who's coming? >> My dad. >> Your dad's coming. >> Your dad. >> Okay. [snorts] >> Okay. So, I am going to give these to all three of you. These two are going to go with you to the jail. I'll explain what they are. Here's yours. This is a trespass warning for Target. You are no longer ever allowed to come back to Target. If you come back to Target and you're seen, you will go to jail again. >> Okay. >> Thank you so much. >> Do you understand that? >> Elena and Tamara were taken to jail, booked in, and charged with petty theft, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Following the incident, the teenage girl was picked up by her dad. Hopefully, the young girl takes this as a lesson and she'll break the generational cycle. On January 19th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a local Walmart in response to a drunken homeless man reportedly shoplifting and acting erratically. When they arrived, he spotted them right away, but acted like he couldn't care less. He was obviously under the influence. >> Leave me alone. >> What are you doing? >> Leave me alone. >> What are you What are you doing? >> Leave me alone. >> What is that? >> Leave me. >> Put that Put that down. Put it down, buddy. Put it down, buddy. What are you doing? Are you eating? >> What are you doing? >> Oh, man. >> I got so much money. I mean, it's >> Oh my goodness. >> Funny. No. Hey, running this money. >> What? [snorts] >> Come on. Let's Let's go. Drop this. Put this down right here. Come on. >> What are you doing? >> Let's go. >> You know you can't be coming here. Let's go. Come on. >> Why? Because who's that? >> They don't want you here. Keep not no let's go. >> I can't get my >> Oh, you can't get your school. Come on. >> This was apparently not the first time this guy had caused trouble at the store. Even worse, he's already been trespassed, which means he should have been arrested right on the spot. Yet, the officer here showed compassion and decided to simply walk him out. At least that was the plan they had in mind anyway. >> No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't give a [ __ ] [ __ ] Look at me. >> Oh, >> I checked. I don't give a [ __ ] Look at me. Give me a second. >> I know you don't. >> Yeah, keep going. >> How can you keep Justin? How come you keep coming every day? >> Keep doing what? >> This is getting silly, >> guys. Yeah, keep digging. You're not going to find >> Hey, >> you get those back later. Relax. >> Hey, give me my ladies and my my my life. >> Did you steal this? >> Quicker than two shakes of a lamb's tail, the man started resisting and forced the officers to put him in handcuffs. Regardless of the man's intoxication, he could also use some manners because he then started using some rather inappropriate language. >> You n >> Hey. >> Whoa. >> Don't be nasty. What are you guys getting arrested for? >> Trespassing. >> Where's your wallet at? >> It's right there. >> Right there. >> All right, let's go. >> I'll bring your lighters. I'm going to pick them up. Calm down. Let's go. >> You can't keep coming here. This is ridiculous. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. That's why you running, huh? [screaming] >> Relaxing is probably the last thing this guy's going to do. It's funny how when they first approached him, he was perfectly calm, even though he knew what was coming. I guess it took some time for his brain cells to shift into full gear. And now that he was aware of the situation, his frustrations are boiling to the surface. >> I'm done. Look at me. Look at me. Look at you. Look at me. I don't know what you want to do. >> Look at me and look at you. >> I come back here. I'm >> playing. That's all you do. >> That's all you do. >> Relax. >> Hey, you're on camera. Watch yourself. >> Relax. Watch yourself. You're on camera. >> I will tell you and your children because you're a Mexican little b and you live in my country. YOU LIVE IN MY COUNTRY. >> [ __ ] you, [ __ ] I'm murder you. There's nothing. >> There's nothing. Just let him. >> Stop it. YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A CHILD. STOP. >> Yell at YOU LIKE A CHILD. >> STOP. NO. >> ENOUGH. >> Don't talk to me like that. >> Female officer read the man like a book. You could see he was taken aback when she accused him of being childish. For a split second, it seemed like he would simmer down, but then just seconds later, he erupted in unbridled rage, just like a spoiled kid would do. >> If you don't stop, I'M GOING TO >> TALK TO ME LIKE THAT. >> YOU WANT ME TO tase you? >> Do you know who I am? >> I don't care who you are. >> Tase me. >> Put your foot in the car. Get in the car. Do you really going to tase me? >> Do you really want to get foot GLOVES ON? COME ON, JUSTIN. You're doing too much, man. >> No, you do. You're doing too much. >> All you had to do was shut up, [ __ ] >> This [ __ ] going to shut up, Justin. Put your foot in the car. >> I'm going to shut up either. >> So, I guess we're at a stand still, honey. >> Okay. No, we're not at a standstill, honey, because I'm not going to county. Move your foot. >> Tony is not going to take me. They're going to laugh at you and they're going to tell you, >> you really want them down here. Move your face. >> Come here, you little n. >> COME HERE. >> YEAH. YEAH. >> HEY. HEY. >> This is way too easy. [snorts] >> Way too easy to piss people off. >> Hey guys, I I big enough to uh What are you doing? Relax. >> Go ahead, dude. I I I really don't care. >> You guys are going to be sued. So, >> we're going to be sued. So, >> sued. Yeah. So, go ahead. >> All right. >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. I I'll totally vote with this. You guys are going to be sued. Honestly, it doesn't You know that with the new act, you're going to lock me out in the morning. >> I don't care, Justin. I want you to We had this conversation the other day. You're a very nice person. >> No, no, no. >> But you took advantage of me being nice the other day. >> No, no. Please. Please. Now we're done. You're just dealing with my car. >> I'm asking you a question, honey. And I >> It's officer, not honey. >> The female officer continued berating the suspect for acting so badly towards the officers and the public in general. Once again, for a brief period, it seemed like he came to his senses. However, just like the first time, it did not last long. >> You're mean to the people that are actually nice to you. Do you ever think of that? >> You know what? I wish karma. I believe in karma, but I wish Is dad always that way, honey? >> Okay, but you don't need to be in there scaring people, tormenting people. >> Yes, you were. You can't act like I don't think you realize, Justin, how you act to people. Maybe you don't. You know, you do naughty things or bad things. I don't think you understand the extremity that bad. >> Yes, it's bad. You should be ashamed and embarrassed. >> What did I do? >> Oh my god. You can have your attorney pull you in the body camera and you can see it spinning all over screaming, threatening people, and then you turn around and act nice and calm. It's not a game. >> This is a nondetainable offense. >> Yeah. You've been warned multiple times. >> No, no, no. Honey, I'm going to get out. I'm going to get out. I'm going to get out. Sorry. >> HEY. >> THAT lesson on manners didn't sit well with Justin. But hey, what can you expect when dealing with such immature people? So Justin did what came naturally and gradually reverted back to threatening the officer, calling her the b- word and generally acting like a jerk. >> You have no idea what you just did. I swear to God, the next time I see you, I'm not going to play with you. I'm going to grab you by your squad and I'm going to beat you. >> ARE YOU READY? HUH? YOU THINK I'M PLAYING WITH YOU? >> Try to plant your gun. I'll disable you. I'll take the gun. I'll probably slap you in the face one day. Gun you, you know, probably pull out my dick and gun you another time. Are we clear? I said, are we clear? >> Well, at least one thing's clear. He's going to jail for this. Justin was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated intimidation, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, obstructing a police officer, and criminal property damage. On the 10th of January 2023, the cops responded to a shoplifting report at a Target store. While the suspect had left already, the store employees gave a clear description of the woman as well as her vehicle. It didn't take long for the cops to find the car and pull her over for questioning. >> Hello. How are you? >> Sheriff's Office. I'll stop you because this vehicle uh was possibly involved in a shoplifting from Target. So they find the description very well of the vehicle and uh description of you know you. So uh do you have your driver's license with you? >> Yeah, I don't. All right. Thanks. Yeah. So I mean you essentially know what I know right now. I mean there's a deputy there that has confirmed it. Um, and they're trying to get all the details hashed out, but um, they provided a very clear description of a vehicle which matches this description and almost an identical tag number. So, um, just uh, hang out. Okay. You don't have any weapons in the vehicle or anything. Okay. All right. I'll be right back. >> In the back of the suspect's car, there were lots of Lego boxes worth about $1,100. Also, they found a pipe in the car. And the suspect here did not have a medical card. She continued denying stealing anything from the store. >> That looks like you look a lot like you. >> So, we're going to do a show up and uh the deputy is going to bring by the witness that we have and they're going to say whether or not that they whatever they observed was uh you or not. >> I didn't take anything from you. Well, I mean, uh, according to them, we passed all lines of sale, got out of the store, >> and they recovered the property outside the outside the, uh, doors. >> Oh, it's not outside doors. You can see >> Okay. It sounds to me that you have kind of an issue with this stuff, you know, and maybe you should get some help, you know, cuz this isn't the way to be. Even though she denied stealing anything, the suspect did admit she was going through a rough time. It was explained to her by the investigating officer why shoplifting is such a problem and the wider consequences it has on society as a whole. Some people that do shop can do it for the thrill or or they're on hard times, >> but you know, uh it may seem like not a big deal to you, but the the those big corporations, they just write it off and they end up raising the prices of everything else. So the people who work their butt off to pay for stuff, like me, I end up having to pay more for stuff like that. You know what I mean? my shoplifting bill or shop shopping bill was more because of theft. I don't think it's fair, you know. >> The suspect asked if she could just get a notice instead of going to jail. In response, they asked the woman if the other county she'd been caught in had given her a notice to appear, and she was also asked if she'd been pulled over before. She admitted to a similar incident in another county and that incident took place, as you might have guessed, at another Target. >> So, you're going through some tough times. That's kind of why you're getting caught up in this stuff. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Like financially difficult times. >> Yeah. Together. So, are you I mean, are you having to are you having to shoplift to provide for your needs? That kind of deal, >> huh? Basically, >> I can't >> Oh, I Okay, I see what you're saying. >> Well, I'm just trying to get like where you're coming from and what's going on. >> Why not person I will go and pay for all of that. Yeah, >> I will. >> Well, I mean, I don't think a single deputy here thinks you're a bad person, but >> yeah, >> you know, >> a lot of times there's there's a there's a story behind there's a reason >> and that makes a difference. You know, >> I know I don't have the like I know my mom would help me by paying for all these things. >> Yeah. >> You know, I I would do that and then if and then also for it. I just like I really don't want to live. The suspect admitted she was aware that she was not supposed to have the and she figured that's why she was being arrested. The cops clarified, however, that it was actually for felony shoplifting. Surprisingly, she doubled down again and confidently denied stealing >> over a felony amount. That means felony amount of product that you admitted to taking from Target. >> I didn't take anything from Target. So I guess explain to me like so I mean you had these items and um according you know it's your word versus theirs, right? Because they're saying something. Explain to me what happened. How how did it all go go down? >> I was pushing a car out of the store and they said they stopped me and I just walked away. >> Where did they stop you? >> In the in the vest. The door. >> Um you mean like the main doors to the store? All right. So, so you didn't you didn't uh you weren't like in the parking lot going to your was you were heading out and they stopped you before you could get out. >> Yeah. >> What's that? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um so you had passed the registers. You were walking out but they stopped you before you actually got in the parking lot. >> I guess so. >> Yes. >> I guess that makes more sense. The officer searched her car and found brand new shoes with no tags and interestingly blank till rolls from both Target and Walmart. They asked the suspect why she stole the items and she claimed to have fallen on hard times. >> What were you going to do? I mean, it's it's toys. You just going to like eBay it or something? >> Yeah. >> Is that what you've had to do in the past to make ends meet? I mean, this is got, you know, how this snowballs, this gets worse. You know, if you're doing it to make to make ends meet, you're making things much harder. >> I I'm trying to get a job on Indeed. I'm just like I haven't been able to I haven't been, you know, >> you have kids and all that? >> No, I don't even have a place to stay. That's not a place. >> Gotcha. Like I as you can see my driver's license. I have a black eye >> on my driver. >> I I didn't see that. Okay. >> You have a black eye now. You're saying? >> No. On my drive license. It was like two weeks ago. >> Gotcha. No one lives inside your car, right? >> No. >> You are you living out of your vehicle? >> I mean somewhat. Yeah. >> Where have you been staying? >> I was on my way to my mom's lake house and interlocking. That's kind of where I'm staying. There's not a lot of room at her house. After getting the suspect's side of the story, the cops proceeded with their arrest. While she claimed to have some broken fingers, she was being cooperative. As they put her in handcuffs, they were careful not to hurt the woman and walked her over to their car. >> I mean, you've been doing this for a while now, right? I mean, why I heard the the record and the warrants and stuff with with outside agencies and stuff and >> why? >> Well, so that's why he the other deputy was talking about was uh you know this has been happening I guess in other counties and stuff like that. >> Well, okay. >> Are there warrants? >> Warrants. >> Yes, you actually have two. One's been confirmed out of a bar. The other one's waiting for confirmation by Orange County both for ground theft. This one also been charged with ground theft and our >> A female officer arrived on scene to search the woman and the suspect remained cooperative. After patting her down, she was placed in the back of the arresting officer's car where it was strangely cramped. >> This is your phone, right? >> Yeah. All right. Corp said, uh, leave it on. >> Why leave it on? Uh so they can get your information your u like if you need numbers and stuff get down there. >> Okay. >> So in order to clear to to I have to go to those counties to get out of the to on those warrants or like what does he do? >> Well, like I said like those are definitely questions for the courthouse for the judge tomorrow. I'm not sure how they want to handle that. I just know that they >> so extradition usually means they'll come get you. However, we also have local charges. >> So again, it's going to be a totally a question for the judge on >> how they handle that. >> Times might have been tough for the suspect and she might have been suffering abuse as well, but things only got a whole lot tougher for her due to what she did. They charged the woman with grand theft and she was later sentenced to 300 days in jail. On March 17th, 2024, loss prevention employees called 911 regarding a couple at Target who were attempting to shoplift. It appeared the couple was using their children to try and get away with shoplifting. >> All right. You guys have ID on you? >> I don't have ID. >> You don't have ID? >> On my pitch phone? Yeah. >> Okay. Let me see it. You know, I stopped you. >> Yes. >> Okay. You do know that you were here as well yesterday and you did the same thing yesterday. >> I saw you guys leaving yesterday. So, same thing yesterday, same thing today. You come back to the same stores two days in a row to shop. >> That's a shame we got the kids involved, too. >> Yep. Can you get your daughter out of a shopping cart, sir? >> Do you have any weapons on you? >> Does he have ID? >> I have his. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's right. >> You have anything on you? No weapons? No merchandise? Nothing on you? Cuz I'm going to search you to make sure. >> Huh? >> No. You have my AirPods. >> It's not She's asking. She's asking if you have merchandise. You have merchandise. Now's the time to give it up. >> Yes. >> Okay. What else do you have? >> Do you have anything on you? >> Did you hide anything on the kids? >> No. >> That jacket or that blue one? >> The blue jacket? >> No. >> Take the blue jacket off the >> You're getting them involved in shoplifting? >> Not really. You're putting stolen merchandise on your daughter. How is that not really? You bring them to shoplifting. the second day in the birthday you come to the same store. You think they're not going to notice you? >> Leaving retail stores wearing garments from the clothing department is a common shoplifting tactic. However, using impressionable children to aid in the shoplifting scheme is just downright aborable. Not only are these parents stealing from businesses, but they're also teaching their children that it's okay to break the law. >> How old are your kids? >> Five and nine. >> When you have to take your kids, that's what's going to happen. No, >> you have somebody to pick up the kids. No. >> Okay. Well, guess what? They're getting cold. >> What about in the purse? There's nothing in the daughter purse. >> No. >> Mind if we check? >> Yeah. >> Let me see. Let me see what you got. >> You said you have nobody to pick up the kids, right? >> Yeah. Can I have someone pick up my kids? >> You just said you have nobody here. >> This is your tags on everything else. >> What else on these kids belongs to the store? >> I'm not going to ask you again. >> Does that sweater belong to that? >> No, she brought that in. >> She brought it in here. So, the purse belongs to them. Yes. >> Right now. I thought you just said you didn't have anybody to pick up the kids. >> Well, I do. Not here. She's probably at home. >> Clearly, there's nobody with you here. So, the question is the final time, you have someone to pick up the kids? >> Yes. >> 5 years old and 9 years old is far too young to be involved in shoplifting. Come to think of it, whatever your age may be, you should never be involved in crime. They probably aren't even aware of their parents' scheme. While toting the price of the stolen goods, the cops give their mother a chance to call someone to pick the kids up. >> I'll let you go through and figure out what she saw and what they packaged. >> She could be here in 30 minutes to get the kids and she can have them. Okay. >> 14. >> Mistake. This is a mistake. >> Two days in a row. >> What's her first name? >> And she'd be here in 30 minutes. I'm just making sure she she said she's coming to make sure she's like 30 minutes. >> All right. >> That's the That's the address and everything that's not complete driver's license. They actually had stolen merchandise on. They used her to steal merch. >> They're wearing it. >> Jesus Christ. >> Blood sister. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you give her permission to take the two girls? >> Yes. >> Okay. Just want to make sure that we got that noted. >> 450. >> The worst part is you got them involved. >> This is yesterday. Today is almost 7. >> Anything in your pockets? They're all in there. >> 74. >> 7:24. >> Yes. 7:24. >> My gosh. >> As if things weren't bad enough, the cherry on top of this bitter pie was the total value of what they stole. Procedurally, it looked like things were going smoothly. and the suspects would be off to jail and their kids would stay with the woman's sister. The cops did their best to reassure the children that everything was going to be okay. >> Part of the trespass that you're going to be told by this staff here, ma'am, >> you're not going to be able to come back to Target. If you come back to Target within 1 year, >> you're going to go to jail. >> Okay? >> Mommy's going to be okay and daddy's going to be okay. Okay? And then when this is all over, they can talk to you about this. But unfortunately, and I'm very sorry, and I feel worse for you two that you got to see this. >> Auntie's going to come get you guys, okay? And you guys are going to go have fun with her for the day. >> Just in time, Rich. >> Just in time, Rich. That's what I figured. >> Okay. >> We already got all their property off. 720 bucks. They got nothing on. We're still trying. We're still trying to go through everything. >> 731. >> 731. And then they did this last night >> and they took off from Target. So, he's going to work PC for this. So if you can you can add that in your thing, but we're not going to charge them. Drop the PC off of that. >> I mean, it's already open. So >> you can have those. You can eat them. Okay. >> Is that your juice box? >> Is that their juice box, too? >> That's actually yours. Okay. >> Extra juice box. >> You want an extra juice box? >> Yeah. Look at that. >> So nice. >> Extra juice box. Apple juice. >> She was working on sister's conversation. >> Are you still talking to sister? >> I'm just telling her. >> All right, I'll go get you. >> All right. Yeah, go ahead and finish that up. We got to wrap up the coming right >> cuz I was only letting you have it to communicate. >> Okay. >> With the arrival of the older officer, it was time for these irresponsible parents to go to jail. The cops had to stay with the children till their aunt arrived. To watch their parents get arrested must have been frightening. Yet, their parents were acting like it was no big deal. Sit >> down. Mommy's going to be okay. All right. >> Okay. Okay. >> Turn your hands together. >> You're going to see my hand. Does the ant have clothes to get there? >> I just told her what to do. >> All right, to the car or anything real quick. I just got to get the photo >> photo for the nores for the trespass warning right here. So I don't >> We're going to go on the right side. Oh, as I said, hopefully this is not a reoccurring issue. >> Yeah. >> And have a seat. >> All right. You okay? >> Yeah. >> All right. >> The father here refusing to say goodbye to his children is indicative of the type of person he is. Neither of them seem concerned about the safety of their children whatsoever, or if overall they'd be all right. Soon enough, however, the children's aunt arrived on scene, and the woman's reaction to taking care of the kids was quite alarming. I just have to get your recording saying that you're willing to take them. I don't know how long you're going to be have them for because there's two different charges pending. If you're unable to care for them at that point, if you're not willing to take them and care for them? >> I can't. I have a kid of my own, so I can't I can't. >> You have a kid of your own, so you can't take them? >> No, I can't. I I I can take care of them. >> Okay. I know it's hard, but I mean, luckily they're on spring break this week, so it might be a little bit easier. I don't know about working if you have someone that can walk. >> Yeah, they're going to have to go to my mom's house. >> Okay. >> I get to have to work. >> Okay. Your sister's got two charges penny. They were in here doing it yesterday and they're doing it today and they got the kids involved in it today. So, she you're the only one that she gives information to give to. So, I mean, you could give this to your mom if your mom if it's better for your mom to take care of them. >> I mean, they're going to have to stay with my mom cuz I have to work. I can't call out work and stuff. You're going to stay with me, but I have to work. >> Okay. Are you going home for the rest of the day or going to mom's? >> Um, I'm going back to work. I have to pick up stuff from my job. I literally just immediately left. >> Okay, I understand completely. Now, do you know mom's address, though? >> Can I call my mom? >> Yeah, your mom probably doesn't know. >> I believe you, honey. I got you. But they're safe. They're eating. They're fine. >> The parents were charged with child neglect, shoplifting, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It's a sad situation that the ants seem more concerned about things than they did. But hopefully, the kids will be taken care of by their aunt and grandmother. On the 1st of September, 2023, the cops responded to a Walmart store after loss prevention reported they'd caught a man stealing. How you doing? >> Hey man, you got any weapons or anything with those sticks on me or anything on you? >> Yes, sir. >> You sir loaded up the car right there. Yep. What' you say you got in your pocket? >> Just my phone. >> Never heard anybody call >> Nick. I was handing me off. >> The suspect, a young man, was being respectful and compliant. And it seemed like to some degree that he might not have realized yet that he was really in trouble. He was laughing with the officers over a miscommunication, which was quite unexpected because he should have been worried about the upcoming consequences. Yes, sir. >> Where you live at? >> Uh, I live at um Avalon. >> On Avalon? >> Yes, sir. >> In one of those pockets. Be careful. There's nothing bad. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Nice. >> Keep it in class. >> I apologize. >> Apologize. >> Can't wake it up. >> How old were you in that? >> Were you under 18? >> No, sir. >> You need to get rid of that. You were under 18. >> No, sir. that um two weeks ago. >> From the photo in his wallet, the cops could tell the suspect was a little immature for his age. And little did he know that it would be one of the last times the cops laughed with him. From that point on, the cops started taking this investigation rather seriously. >> I got to read you the surprise. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say you can will be used against you in court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer. have him present with you before and during any questioning. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before and during any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand each of these constitutional rights that I explain to you? Having confirmed your understanding of these constitutional rights, do you voluntarily and knowingly wave your constitutional rights and wish to speak to us now? before return. >> I was on your best. >> Unfortunately, you live out of the county. >> So, with what we got to do is we'll take you up there tonight. You'll have a bond amount set for you. You can make calls on >> Look at me. It's a little thing. >> I'll get you. [laughter] Here's the deal. Here's the >> Take a breath. Take a breath. >> It's It's a little thing, right? Nothing crazy. >> When you get up there, they let you get five phone numbers out of your phone. The bond. You've never Have you ever stolen anything before? >> Okay. >> It seemed like the shock set in for the teenager when they started reading him his rights. Hoping to calm him down a little, the officer explained to him that most likely his bond amount was going to be pretty low. What if my phone's dead, which it is? Um I I don't know my mom's my mom's number, but she's she's on a cruise right now. >> This is an iPhone. >> I'll plug it in there. >> And uh my uh my friend is in my car right now. Can I give her my keys to go home or back my house? >> I'll give them to her. You want me to? So, all right. We're on camera right now. >> Yes, sir. Are you okay with me giving these keys to whoever is in your car so she can take your car? >> Yes, sir. >> Yes. >> Yes, sir. Okay, I'm going to go do that. What kind of car is it? >> Uh Dodge Charger. Black >> black Dodge Charger. How is it on the other end or >> on the other side? >> On the far side by the food. >> Yes, sir. >> Is it parked close or >> girl or there? >> Girlfriend? >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> All right. It was clear the officers here thought the kid was a pretty nice boy who just made a mistake. They were pretty gentle with him to help him process his emotions. They didn't want the suspect to freak out and make the arrest process difficult. >> When you get up there, they'll let you get five numbers off your phone. Okay? So, you get a couple choices for friends. If you know anybody else's phone number by heart, don't write that one down cuz you know that one. Get some other ones. >> You'll be able to get out tonight long as you can call somebody. Okay, buddy. >> It's a little thing. >> It's a little thing. It's nothing crazy. >> I get you. >> It's just >> We'll get it all done tonight. We'll get it squared away. >> You'll get to go. The only reason that you have to go tonight is cuz you live out of the council. This is one of this this is something that we can write and give you the the paper with the court date on it >> and then you just got to show the court date. >> The catch with that is you have to either live in you have to live in the county. >> I live in Orange County though. That's the issue. >> Based on how anxious he is, it looks like this rookie shoplifter is going to learn his lesson. It should be enough reason for him hopefully to not pull a stunt like this one again. Sadly for him though, he'd have no choice at all but to spend a few nights in jail. He's still pretty lucky though that his consequences aren't too severe. >> Okay, I'll go ahead and have you stand up for me. >> Go ahead and put your hands together like praying. It's a little bit more comfortable to get your wrists a little bit closer. I get these tight. >> Uh, no. I'll call my brother. All right. >> I mean, they arrested the young man and they charged him with shoplifting. It seems he might just have been a reckless teenager who made a mistake as he was apologetic and cooperative with the officers. However, it doesn't excuse his crime and he was still booked in jail. On March 18th, 2022, law enforcement officers reported to a local Target store. Loss prevention informed them of a mother and daughter duo who were trying to steal over $1,500 worth of camping equipment from the store. >> How you doing? access text and security. Okay. >> Um, so I have it's not using obviously as a child. The mother is right here on the other side of the beam. >> Okay. >> With the black shirt. Uh, but the card total card amount that was pushed out was just over $1,500. >> So mom had did mom have anything. >> So mom was not with her. We only apprehended the Kelsey as her child because she was one push. >> How old is she? >> 20 22. She was born in 2000. Oh, so she's an adult. She's an adult. So, I'm not sure if you guys have anything about that. >> Okay. >> So, was mom and her shopping together or >> Yeah, they were both together, but your daughter was the one pushing carts when they exited the store, so we >> Okay. Does she Does she know what's going on? >> I came out here to try and talk to her and then I saw back here. >> Okay. How you doing, ma'am? >> Good. You? >> Good. What's going on today? Nothing. >> So, no one was trying to take a card outside without >> My stepdaughter. >> Your stepdaughter. Okay. >> You had nothing to do with that? >> No. >> Okay. >> It seems pretty strange this woman could be shopping with her stepdaughter and just not noticed she wasn't scanning things before trying to walk out of the store. She denied any involvement in the crime whatsoever. >> This is all it was all in one car, but this is >> Okay. So, one last thing from me statement >> basically says you're not allowed in this target for a year. >> Did she make it out of the store? >> Yeah, she made it all past all points like right in that vestibial area where she >> Okay. So, what's going on today? [music] >> Okay. my living situation. It's going to be >> okay. It's quite a significant amount. >> I just got back to work. I was doing good. >> That's a That's a sign. >> I understand that, but that's a significant amount of stuff you you took. So, who's the lady outside out here with you? >> Okay. >> The young woman, 22-year-old Kelsey, admitted to her crime immediately. She seemed like a soft-spoken young woman who was just down on her luck, but didn't really want to cause any harm. Her stepmother was a bit more suspicious, however, since she immediately denied any involvement. >> No matter what, but stepmom was the whole ide. But I think we should at least grab stepmom's name. It's my understanding you're here with uh stepdaughter. >> Okay. >> Where was she at? >> Apartments. Any idea which one? >> So she she knowingly knew [music] what was going on. >> Okay. So, is is she in the same situation that you or Okay. >> You're about to >> So, I have to figure out. >> So, she knew she knew what was going on the whole time you were doing this. >> Okay. >> It seems like she didn't really want to throw her stepmother Judy under the bus since Kelsey was the main perpetrator of the crime. Kelsey, however, did the right thing, remaining honest with the officer because she knew she was not going to beat the charges. All right, Kelsey, before you leave, >> you don't have any weapons, anything on you, do you? >> What? >> I do. >> Okay. You don't have any drugs or anything that get you jammed up? Double lock these so they don't tighten on you. Go ahead. >> Just came in. Did she give you a name for that? >> Is this your possessions here? >> Okay. >> Is this yours? >> Thank you. It's my understanding the items in there. It's over $1,000. >> Now, what is your role in this? >> I am her >> and I was just giving her rides today. She's been homeless for like a year and a half and >> I thought she had the money to pay for it. >> Okay. Now, did you tell her to leave stuff without paying or? >> No. So, what at what point did you see her leaving without it? Or were you trying to leave, too? >> No, I was on my way out and she was still back there shopping. I didn't even know that she was right behind. >> While Judy may not have been involved in the shoplifting, it does seem pretty doubtful that she was unaware of the crime her stepdaughter committed. Obviously, she knew Kelsey was homeless. So, how did she expect her to have money if she just returned to working? >> As of right now, we don't have any charges against you. >> I appreciate it. >> Yeah. I'm gonna put your statements in the report and all that, you know, but um if for whatever reason we could determine that you were involved in this though, you could face charges in the future. Okay. >> But we would have to prove that first though, right? >> Okay. Um like how long will she be in jail for? Well, >> I don't even know anything [clears throat] about people going to jail. I don't know. >> Um she can be bonded out with this type of um charge. So, I don't know what the bond will be, though. Okay. >> Um it's going to be felony level though since it's over $1,000. >> What's that mean? >> Um it's just like the felonies like we got their misdemeanor which are like the lower level punishment like a year or less in jail normally and then um the felonies are going to be over up to over a year. Like you're going be I I don't know exactly but it'll be over a year if we if she's found guilty. your head. Turn the car on. Get the heat going. >> Judy, hey, you're free to go at this time. >> I apologize that you did that. >> Um, you might receive a call from a detective later on um if they need more information about what happened. >> Yeah. But anyway, you're free to go. >> Okay. >> Thank you for your time. Now, you might be thinking it was suspicious to let Judy go without even reviewing the security footage. And if that's what you were thinking, you'd be right. As soon as she left, the officer thought he was ready to wrap things up with the loss prevention team and be on his way. But the loss prevention team revealed he'd made a major mistake. >> I mean, I got his his numbers and everything. >> Okay. >> He was participating in putting stuff in. I'm not sure. >> She was participating. >> She like she put merchandise in the cart and then the only reason we apprehended Kelsey was because she was the one with the merchandise when they passed that final point of sale. >> So she's up that's her Judy up front. >> Judy was up front. >> They made their way through this bypassing all of the check lanes. She was maybe 10 8 ft in front of her. Um but because she had the unpaid merchandise, that's the first I stopped. >> And I did try asking Kelsey. I said, "Did your stepmom put you up to this? Was she like trying to coersse you to do this? And it was a no. >> I was thinking she was way farther ahead. >> No, it was just maybe 10 ft if that. >> And that's how she walked through in front of her the whole store. >> Yeah. While they were shopping and putting stuff in the carts. >> Okay. Um I don't know. I'm sure she's long gone at this point, but uh >> she's the one they selected like the tent >> the expensive more expensive stuff. >> So she selected You got her on film putting that stuff in >> in the cart. Yeah. >> That's why I say I'll be able to provide all Let me get it back with you. >> At this point, the entire situation became more complex than before. The officer realized he'd made a huge mistake by letting Judy go, and he also came to the realization that the target team was more proactive than he was. However, it is pretty peculiar that the woman willingly threw her homeless stepdaughter under the bus for shoplifting when she was the one who racked up the amount to a felony. And she's already put two of the >> She's already put the grill and two of the tents in there. >> She did. >> Yep. Mom did. >> Can you rewind that? So, >> so there's one of them. And then the daughter, I believe, fits the girl in. >> Oh, she put the girl in. >> Yeah, I just saw put that thing in on the bottom. All right. I think that would be good for that. I mean, we see mom putting that in there. Investigators can look into it later. Watch the whole thing. >> There are other things. I'm not may or may not be on camera, but there is other things where she is the one. >> Okay. And you've seen this young lady put stuff in there, too, right? >> Yeah. There she is. Right there. >> That's a $100, $200 air mattress. And then over here is when she is [music] just shoving books and movies into these reusable bags. >> At this point, the officers now had enough evidence to prove that these two women were shoplifting together. Since they'd already let Judy go, they decided to put a warrant out for her arrest. And it was now time to wrap things up with Kelsey and transport the woman to jail. >> And then you literally have to hold it because, you know, it doesn't make any sense that we would All right, wash your head. Okay, >> Kelsey was taken to the Pulk County Jail and charged with thirdderee theft and two counts of probation violation. Judy was issued a warrant for her arrest. Hopefully, they caught up with Judy in a timely manner since she blatantly lied about her involvement, demonstrating a major lack of respect for her stepdaughter. On the 21st of August 2024, the cops responded to a Target store after reports of two young women trying to steal. For these thieves, the main item of focus was jewelry, though they did attempt to steal some other items. When the officers arrived, the women were already in the loss prevention office. >> Hey, how's it going? >> How's it going? Um, so these two young ladies here took everything you see here. Steve, let me grab it for you. Here's the itemized receipt of what was taken. So, essentially, they came in, went to the jewelry section, grabbed all that, put it inside of this bag that she was carrying in the white shirt. Um, >> which bag? >> This one here, one that says the tote bag on it. Then moved over to like health and beauty. Grabbed this shampoo and like these hair clip things. went and grabbed these. All that stuff went into that same bag. They tried to bypass, went to sale, stopped them, escorted them back here, called you guys. >> Okay. Do you guys have IDs? >> You don't have none of you have IDs on you at all? >> No. >> How old are you? >> 18. >> 18. You? >> 17. Despite the suspects having no IDs, the cops identified the 18-year-old as Adriana Ortiz, and the younger female's identity was kept private since she's a minor. Both young women seemed rather worried about the consequences of their actions. >> What's that? >> We'll have to conduct an investigation. >> That's not how this works. >> I don't know. We have to conduct an investigation. What did y'all do? Y'all broke the law, right? >> Yeah. >> And we got called here. So, >> we have to conduct an investigation. >> We just get trespassed. >> I'm sorry. >> We just get trespass. >> We have to figure out what's going to happen. We have to conduct investigation. We have to watch the video. We have to talk to the employees here. We have to talk to you guys and then we'll make a determination. While one officer stayed in the room with the young thieves, the other officer went in the office with the loss prevention employee to review the security footage of the girl stealing. >> So, who's who was holding the bag the whole time? >> The uh the girl on the white. >> Okay. Who was taking the items? >> Both. >> Cool. >> Both selecting them. Both putting them in the purse. >> So, what do y'all want to do? >> Uh we're going to prosecute both and chest. >> All right. >> So, you'll see they'll grab 14 or 15 items here. the girl in the white conceals and then the other one conceals there. And that was the last thing they selected. They kind of walked around the grocery department for a little bit. Like they even looked at like dairy stuff like butter and stuff, but they never grabbed anything else. >> Cool. Marijuana, >> any old prostitute? >> While the Target store wanted to prosecute them both, the officers first had to question the suspects as a part of the investigation. To start with, the cops read both girls their Miranda writes and escorted the younger girl out of the room to question Adriana alone. >> So, tell me what happened. Why did you guys come here? >> Okay, we came here because um I wanted to have a birthday and I went to sleep at our house. So, then we went to the pool first. That's where we're all >> tonight. You're good. You can keep talking. >> We came to Target. Uh she completely I needed body wash. And then she wanted the chips and I said we should leave. Like this is >> but I know it's wrong. >> So talk to me about all these items in here. >> So there should be some matches. >> You bought it or you like >> I'm sorry. >> I picked those. >> Okay. So, why didn't you pay for it? >> I I honestly know. I know I should have, but >> So, if you if I asked you to stand up right now and point at all these items you stole, would you be able to do that that you did and not hurt? >> Uh, probably not because we I think we got the same things. >> Okay. So, you guys were both like >> uh me and it's all and we also share a lot. Have you ever done like something like this before or >> you know first time? >> Adriana went on to explain that the robbery wasn't necessarily planned. It just kind of happened. She told the officers they came to Target for some body wash and jewelry and not to steal. Next up, it was time for the cops to question the younger thief as well. >> So, let me hear your side of the story. Why Why did you guys come here? >> Well, we came to get jewelry just like the because or >> I'm not wanted to get anymore. >> What did you need it for? >> For me so I can wear it. >> Just just to have it. >> Yeah, >> I got all gold cuz I like to wear gold and I have these and I just It's not I want But >> did you come in here with the intent to not pay for it? Well, no, but like I kind of like I like coming in here, I might like look at it and try and want it, but no. >> But you said you didn't have any money to buy it. >> Yeah, I don't I have $2. >> Okay. Whose idea was it to come here? >> Nobody's idea. It >> was nobody's idea. You guys just showed up here? Come to Target all the time. So, you just figured you were going to come hang out? >> Yeah. A lot of people walking around here. We were going to meet her boyfriend here, too. >> Well, ex-boyfriend. >> The 17-year-old acknowledged that it was her first time stealing. When asked what her motivation was, she told the officers that since she was now a senior in high school, she needed some jewelry because she thought it would make her look nicer. >> All right, so turn around. Put your hands on your back, please. That's the case. >> Being placed under arrest for petty theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. >> Am I getting arrested? >> Yes. >> For petty theft and contributing to a felony. It's >> not good. >> What does that mean? >> It's a harder deal with her and she's a minor. >> A felony is a more severe charge than a misdemeanor. You're being charged with both. So, it's not good. Any prior theft convictions? Well, listen. Listen to me. All right. I don't I think you're I think you're a nice girl. I think you made a mistake. >> I did. I don't want to get touched in jail, bro. >> Listen to what I'm saying. [laughter] >> Can you listen? >> Okay. As long as you do as you're told and you don't do anything silly, it's going to be smooth. >> Adrian, come right here. >> 4.0, bro. >> Okay. >> That's my problem. I don't know what goes on in jail. I don't know what it does for no reason. >> Okay. Well, as long as you behave and you don't [snorts] do anything ratchy, you'll be all good. >> I want to apply to UCF to become a pediatric nurse. >> Did you already apply? >> I was going to. >> Well, on your application, it's going to ask if you ever been arrested or charged or convicted of any crime, and they're going to have to disclose that. If you lie and they do a background investigation, then you'd be disqualified from any application. >> Soon after, a female officer arrived to search Adriana before securing her in the back of a squad car. The officers then called the younger girl's parents to come and pick her up, but escorting the young girl out was a rather annoying task for them. >> She was caught uh stealing some items, >> jewelry and snacks and such. She's at the Target here on 100 in Palm Coast. Are you able to come get her? >> Uh yes, we're on our way. >> All right, let's go. Let's go. >> I'm going to grab my >> Go or I escort you. >> Well, can you grab it then? Oh, you can. Oh, >> is this please? >> All right. Don't think like that. Keep watching. >> Don't do that, please. Because that hurt. >> And I'm being calm, but that hurt. >> Yeah. Well, now now we're going to hold on to you because you wanted to fight in there. >> Who wanted to fight? Let go of me, bro. I'm not even resisting. >> I'm not going to let go of you now. >> I'm not even resisting, bro. Can you please let go of me? That hurts. I'm not even resisting, bro. >> Stop. >> Let go of me. Give me my phone. >> You get your phone when your mom comes. >> I'm not going in no car. I can sit out here and wait for my mother. >> Hold on. >> Get off of me. I'll put some cuffs on. Get off of your arm. >> Here. Get over here. Put your hands behind your back. >> Get off of my arm, bro. >> Hey, just No, bro. >> Cuz why are they like so hard? >> Can you put these on me? >> I'm going search you. Chill. >> What the I did that work. >> He's 18. Are you stupid? Guys, quit it. >> She's 18. Stupid old on me. >> Adriana was arrested and charged with retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. What was once a felony was changed to a misdemeanor. Since the younger girl was a minor, they sent her charges in the mail. If you like this video, feel free to check out the Hidden File Library.
