Stop soda now. >> Come on. You're about to get tased. >> GET ON YOUR FACE NOW. GET ON YOUR FACE. >> GET ON YOUR FACE NOW. GET ON YOUR FACE. LET MY GUN MY GUN. >> Some people think aggression solves problems. And when substance abuse is involved, their delusions only get worse. Thankfully though, when these wannabe tough guys punch the cops, jail time is always guaranteed. >> What do I do? Don't touch. Do you know who I am? >> I do not. >> Don't touch me. >> You're under arrest right now. >> What? >> You do. You know who I am. >> No. You're going to come back in. On the 16th of September 2024, cops from the Springfield Police Department responded to a shoplifting in progress. What began as a routine call quickly escalated into a full-blown confrontation. >> We're getting ready to detain a white male. Long hair, black t-shirt, shorts. >> Go back in there. >> What? >> Go back in there. >> What did I do? Don't touch You know who I am? >> I do not. >> Don't touch me. You're under arrest right now. >> What? >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Don't break it. >> Okay, then do what you're told. >> I know. >> Do what you're told. >> You do. You know who I am. >> No. You're going to come back in here. >> Drop it, dude. QUICK. QUIT. GET ON THE GROUND NOW. >> STOP. >> HERE. OKAY. I got it. >> Stop. >> Here. >> I hear nothing. PUT YOUR OTHER ARM BACK. >> Put your other arm. >> What are you going to do about it? >> Put your other arm. >> You're about to get tased. Put your back. >> Put it behind your back. >> I CAN'T. >> NOW. >> I CAN'T. >> NOW. >> OKAY. Look it. See how many >> back now? What do you not understand? Turn around now. >> With a suspect this large, things were touch and go for a moment, but the officers finally managed to gain control. The suspect here seems really surprised, wondering how he'd cause such a reaction for stealing just a few items. >> It's just a [laughter] bag. >> You're making a scene for no reason. >> Nope. Because you decided I know who you are. I know that, right? You know that, right? >> Stop moving your hand, bro. >> You will get tased. I swear to God. >> What did I do? >> You are going to walk in back in this store. [snorts] For what? >> Do you understand? >> For what? >> Because you're under arrest now. >> All right. >> And you're going to walk back in the store. >> For what? Why can't you? >> You're not going to cause any more problems. >> Why can't you put me in the car? >> Do you understand? >> No. Why can't you put me in the car? Why can't you put me in the car? >> Because that's not how things work here. >> You're stupid. >> I don't know who I am. I'm bigger than you. >> That's great. >> That's cool. With the man in handcuffs, he was then escorted toward the security office. And his comments along the way got increasingly bizarre and disconnected from reality. >> One day, you know that, right? Look at my third eye. >> I don't care, dude. >> Yeah, you're you're not going to know who you are. All right. Now, you don't know who you are now, right? >> Nope. You're don't. >> Sorry. >> You all good? >> I'm fine. >> Yeah. You know who you are now. You know who I am, right? >> Nope. Don't care. >> I'm the biggest in the world. >> I don't give a you. >> You're a down you. >> You know who I am. The biggest in the world. >> Shut the door. Hunter. >> You know who I am, right? >> I don't care. >> I don't care who you are. >> Who you are. >> You're a criminal. That's all I care. >> Okay. >> You're ugly as hell. >> I'm big as hell. I'm bigger than big. >> Great. Great. You >> don't care. Not a big deal to me. >> Good. I'm glad you get in and out. >> I bet I go in and out. Process and release. >> Nope. Doesn't work that way. >> Doesn't work that way. >> Shut the up, you fat. >> The man was soon identified as Nicholas, and the officer involved began checking his belongings. Inside the man's backpack, she found multiple stolen items, including clothing and alcohol. >> Yellow. [laughter] >> Do you know this famous gentleman? >> No. >> Everybody should know who he is. Nicholas >> Tarius. Is that right? >> That's not going to be my name forever, though. >> Okay. All right, go ahead and have a seat. >> It's a misdemeanor. I don't care. >> Okay. Yeah, fighting with the police is not a misdemeanor. So, nice try, though. >> I punched you. Let's see the camera. Let's see the camera. I didn't punch you or anything. >> You can toy on my body camera. Absolutely. >> All right. Doesn't matter. >> Don't have to punch me for it. >> I didn't punch you. >> I didn't say that you did. >> All right, then. What's the penalty? >> What's the penalty? Despite what the officer told him, Nicholas still believed that he was just facing a minor shoplifting charge. He didn't seem to realize that the circumstances changed greatly when he decided to run from the cops. >> Do you have a phone number you'd like to provide? >> Okay. Well, when they call and tell you you've got a warrant because you didn't show up for court, don't blame us. Okay. Are you banning him, >> please? >> Uh, you can't come to any Walmarts anymore for the rest of your life. ever any of them. It's criminal trespassing. >> Just let me know you're banned. >> Just let me know you're banned. >> Yeah, actually we are. >> No, cuz they are all owned by Mr. Walmart. This fine piece of citizen is banned from all of the Walmart, including Murphy's Oil and Sam. >> Oh, well, I'm not going to listen. >> Fine piece of citizen. Fine piece of citizen. >> All right. I'll have the PC for you shortly. >> I will. >> How's it going, my man? >> Once the paperwork was done and he'd been formally banned from Walmart, the cops escorted the man outside. Once the female officer got her breath back, she explained that she saw the theft as it occurred and explained how it all unfolded. >> He decided to try and run out of the backpack and almost he almost lost it. cuz my partner in there is a little more, >> but he ended up getting pushed into the corner over there on that side. >> I I'm like trying to get my taser and my handcuffs out at the same time. And I'm like, >> when everybody was tied up, I was in 800. So, >> I'm sorry. And I really was just like, I'm not calling. I'm not even going to start him this way because I've seen the screen all freaking since I got here. And I'm just like, nope, nope, nope. And he is like just steady like this. And then he put it underneath another like clothing thing. And then he walked away. And then he comes back and adds more to the pile. and he thinks that if he hides underneath the clothing thing that they can't see what he's doing when he came in with nothing, goes back and steals a backpack, pulls the backpack, rips the tag off, and then instantly goes and starts grabbing all this stuff. And I'm just like, >> man, come on. >> Once they added things up, the total of stolen merchandise was $141. He was right when he said that his theft would be a misdemeanor, but he failed to acknowledge the escape attempt and the altercation with the cops. In the end, he was charged with retail theft, resisting arrest, and aggravated battery on a peace officer. It's not out of the ordinary for cops to get dispatched to a bar to remove unruly customers. But on September 20th, 2025, a similar situation threatened to escalate when a suspect refused to calm down and kept pushing the cops to their limits. >> So, what I'm going to have you do >> is you're going to come over here. >> Yes, sir. >> Not I'm right with you. >> Not behind me. >> Hey, I'm right with you. >> Let's get this girl out of here. >> Okay. So, real quick, what's your name? >> Okay, hang tight for me. I'll be right back. >> Talk to her. She's because she's scared of what? >> Okay. So, we're we're I'm trying to deescalate the situation here without us getting any further. First of all, did anything did anything physical happen or is it >> No. Hell no. >> I got to double check. >> I I paid for you have a driver's license. >> Yeah, I do. I don't have I didn't pay for it, but I have a I Yeah. >> Okay. >> I'm not driving. I got I got everything you want to know. >> Am I pulling that off? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> I am me. Right from the very start, the cops on scene tried to deescalate things. At that point, the suspect's anger was focused on the female taxi driver because supposedly she'd driven him the wrong way. >> Talk to me, >> right? I got >> freak out about what I'm doing. >> I'm not freaking out about nothing. >> She is. She's the problem. >> Well, we're here to figure out what exactly happened. Okay. All right. So, >> I hired a cab. She took me the wrong way. I said, "Take me back." You're going the wrong way. >> Were you already in the vehicle and you left? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Paid transaction. >> Okay. >> From from a friend. >> Just because she's going the wrong way is the way you would go. She has to follow her. >> WE DON'T GO TO PORT CHARLES to go northward. >> Period. >> So you're you're put my foot down. I yelled at her. >> Okay. So you're >> freedom of speech. The law does protect freedom of speech even when it's loud or offensive, but it doesn't protect behavior that crosses that line to intimidation or threats. And the suspect's voice was so irritating that even the cops found it completely unbearable. You >> going to shut up now or what? >> No. >> Listen, >> what you going to get bowed up? >> I'm listening to >> You're not listening to me. >> You would disrespect and I'll get paid. >> I'll get paid. You relax. You're the deescalator. Exactly what I'm doing. >> YOU'RE THE DEESCALATOR. >> BACK UP. >> I'm talking to you. I need you to calm down. >> Then back up and I'll talk to you. >> But you don't you don't push on me. >> I don't touch you. >> I haven't touched you. >> Then back up. >> I don't need to. You need to stop. >> Okay. I need to stop. What? >> So are you going to >> punch? Don't do it. >> Are you threatening to punch me? Is that what you're That's not a good idea. So >> what the are you talking about? >> So the incident here. >> Are you putting hands on me? >> Does it look like I am? >> I think you are. >> Stop spitting on me. >> Back up. It deescalates. >> I am. >> Then back up. >> I'm not backing up. You need to leave. >> I'll I'll back. >> No. No. No. >> Yeah. >> I'll take it to the hill. >> Okay. I'll be right back with the trespass. >> GO AHEAD. The whole situation was on the verge of getting physical. To prevent that, the cop who was squaring off against the suspect decided to step back a bit and talk to the bar's owner. Unfortunately, that just made the suspect, Eric, spiral even more. >> You heard me. I SEE YOU. I KNOW YOU. I KNOW EVERYBODY THINK about you. >> You need to stop. >> THEN TAKE CARE OF THIS. >> We are right now. >> Let it go. >> We're not letting anything go. >> I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES. YOU want me to announce? and his kids and his family. You >> mind stop spitting on me? >> I know everything. YOU THE RIGHT ONE. GET OUT of here. >> You need to stop looking at her. Okay, >> this is the catalyst. You know who I am. >> This is the first time I've ever met you. >> I'm walking out. Stop me. >> Nope. As of right now. Hey. Hey. >> Put hands on me. PUT HANDS ON ME. PUT ON. >> As the reinvigorated suspect went on with his tantrums, the other officer talked to the bar owner about trespassing him. At that point, they didn't have cause to arrest the man, at least not yet. >> Dang. >> Well, the problem is I can't just arrest him because he's intoxicated. He's got to be causing a huge disturbance, which he's not there yet. So, that's why I'm asking if you want him trespass. I can then fill out a See, >> stop. Stop. >> They don't >> put hands on me. >> You put hands on me. >> Stop. >> Watch me fool you. >> You need to stop. >> I am. >> You're a man. Yes. >> You want to trespass? Okay. >> You are now trespassed from this place. We're going to file. >> No. I need to hear from the owner. >> He just told me right now. >> PAPER. IN PAPER. IN PAPER. >> OKAY. Go over here. We're going to give you a trespass. >> We're going over here. You're being trespassed. >> Don't touch me. >> You're being trespassed. >> You see that? >> You're being trespassed. >> You want this to go easy or soft? >> I'm not certain. >> One more time. I listen. You better listen. >> I'm telling you to go over there right now. You're being trespassed. You >> They just told me to trespass you. You're being trespassed. Exactly what you're doing right now. Causing a disturbance. >> AND I RESPECT THAT. >> All right. Now, >> don't answer me or you're going to over there now. Despite the obvious escalation, the cops maintained their composure and gave the man multiple opportunities to leave peacefully. However, judging by the sound of Eric's voice, that was not going to be an option. You need to >> stop. You better get like three of you. >> I'm not going to need three of them. Trust me. >> So, let's go. >> You will. >> Come on. >> Let's go. Come on. >> I'm asking you to be nice. >> I am being nice. >> I'm going to put you down. You'll never get up. >> You'll never taser. Taser. Get over there. Come on. >> Let's get over there now. >> Let's go. >> Get over there now. Stop. >> I'll take your >> right now. You're going to get tased. >> Get over there now. You're tased. >> Let go of me now. You're committing a felony now. Get over. >> Stop. HE'S BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW. >> HE'S BEHIND YOUR BACK. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS ARE BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW. [screaming] >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Hands behind your back. Now, >> even after the man fell on the ground, he kept resisting. So, the officer used the drive stun mode, pressing his taser directly in the man's calf muscle. That being said, the intense pain inflicted caused immediate compliance. >> Trying to lift it >> on your stomach. >> I'm trying to lift it. Put your HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> ON YOUR STOMACH. >> Hands behind your back. >> Take them all up. >> Take them off. I'm going to >> You stay up there. Be quiet. >> We're past that point now. >> No, we're not. >> We're past that point. >> Then call the Call the >> You know who I'm talking about. >> All right. Well, we weren't here for 5 minutes, so relax. >> I am giant on demand. >> All right. Go ahead and stand up. Please get up to your knees. >> Pull me up. Pull me up. Pull me up, please. >> To your knees, >> D. I'LL NEVER GO TO JAIL. >> You want a bet? >> It didn't have to go this way. >> Call my leaison. I'll get the feds over you. >> The bar patrons were clearly happy to see the man arrested and handcuffed, but their taunting wasn't helping the matter. And as a matter of fact, it just triggered the man to keep arguing even more. Hey, you got now >> what? >> How? >> Stop. >> How? >> I got you. >> I'll see you in person. >> We're going this way. We're going this way, sir. >> We're going this way. >> Pick that up. >> We will in a minute. >> In a minute. Not going anywhere. Stay right there. >> You don't know who I am, Jimbo. Oh. Central 100 nuclear traffic. >> I'll be back. >> Not here. You won't, sir. I'll be in family. >> Don't threaten our family. That's not very smart. >> Then respect me. >> After everything he did, it was ironic that he was the one demanding respect. Throughout the entire ordeal, he showed no signs of calming down or trying to resolve things peacefully. He kept arguing with them in a very hostile manner and accused the cops of getting physical with him. >> But you put hands on first. >> I never touched you first. >> What? >> We tried you from the beginning. >> Yep. >> We tried to protect you from the very beginning and now we're here. >> Do what you got to do. >> Well, then please please walk. >> Do what YOU GOT TO DO. >> Then please walk. >> Tell me where. >> So that car right there. >> Vehicle right here on the left hand side. >> Hey, place burned down. Watch. Kaboom. DO WHAT IT TOOK TO TAKE ME DOWN. >> NOTHING. I'm standing. Nothing. >> Never. >> Look, I got emails coming here to check you out. >> Yeah. >> I have to >> save your life. >> You don't respect me. Respect goes forwardings but backwards. I would respect you for your service. You You treat me like >> No, sir, I did not. >> YOU DIDN'T HEAR NOTHING. >> WHY? CUZ I'M YELLING. >> YEAH. >> ULTIMATELY, the cop's repeated attempts to deescalate things failed. He was eventually charged with disorderly intoxication, trespass after warning, and resisting arrest. On October 12th, 2024 in Juliet, Illinois, the cops responded to the Forge Bar. Apparently, a young man there was harassing female guests. After asking the man to leave and giving him multiple warnings, the staff decided to call the cops. And when the officers got there, they didn't have to look too long for their suspect. >> Come on. Touch me. Touch me. He's good. He's good. Turn him over. Turn him over. Turn him over. >> Back up. Back up. Back up. Back up. Back up. >> He's holding here right now. >> Ain't that crazy? >> Ain't that crazy? >> 7198. a couple units, please. >> Trying to detain a subject outside right now. >> Get the off of me. Don't touch my belt. >> I touch your belt. >> You touch my belt again, you got it without my belt. I need your >> The suspect, later identified as Daniel Karoska, showed zero respect toward the officer and came at him aggressively. Therefore, the cop showed zero tolerance and Daniel was immediately taken to the ground. And it didn't take long for the man to start complaining. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> Oh god. I I kat I'm going to roll you on your stomach. You You understand me, Tao? Roll on your stomach. I'm right on my >> roll over in your stomach. >> Give me other arm. >> Right in my stomach. >> You're under arrest. >> I aggravated this all to a police officer. You understand? >> Break my breaking. >> Break it. [screaming] >> As you can see, >> I ass going to need a blue team on this one. I know you want to break it that way, Paul. Ain't that right? >> Ain't that right? I know you want to >> Hey, keep right. Hey, Keith. Go ahead, Paul. >> This situation was clearly proof that dumb decisions have consequences. But sadly for Daniel, he was way too drunk to comprehend that. Instead, he just kept on arguing and continued with his rant. >> We're going to roll you up. We're going to put you in a police car. Okay. >> Go ahead, Paul. >> All right. Come up to your knees. >> I want the back. >> I'm on your knees, bro. >> I want the PE. >> Stand up. >> I got Come on. >> Okay. I'm with the P of Post. >> Go home. >> What's your name? >> Don't worry about it. >> Let's talk with the J. Come on, please. >> I know where your name is, Jay. Come on, man. >> There you go. You got it. >> Okay. >> You know this ain't my fault. >> Yes, it is. This is our [ __ ] >> respond. >> What part? Okay, right here. Hands are released. Hands up against your arm. Go ahead. >> Release my hands, bro. My hands are >> Please, bro. Please. My hands are released, bro. The cops often say that as far as handcuffs go, they're not designed to be comfortable. And while suspects often overreact at the slightest discomfort, these cops decided to loosen his cuffs a bit. I can't feel my hands, man. PLEASE. COME ON. PLEASE. I can't feel my hands. I can't feel my hands. >> I CAN'T feel my hands. >> I can fit a finger. >> I can't feel my hair. >> Relax. I'm loosening it. [screaming] >> STOP. >> [screaming] >> YOU RELAX. >> RELAX. >> Nobody's got the answer for me, man. >> What are you TALKING >> in the car? >> Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Go ahead. Go ahead. Sit down in the car. [screaming] >> No matter what the officer said, the man's behavior remained erratic and aggressive every step of the way. They struggled with him, especially when it came to getting him in the squad car. >> There you go. >> There you go. >> Sit down. >> Put your feet in the car. >> Report is that as it is. No further, dude. >> And it is as it is, Mr. Hydrant. >> Almost there. Come on. >> My car. >> You know what it is? >> Here. Hand me the A little Ain't you, aren't you? You and your little job ain't going to put you fired. Oh, you little >> fall behind this cop. They can't do What are they gonna do? Lick my nuts. Well, I know you're listening to this or whoever the Well, I know most likely cuz you're my dog. Come on, man. Come on, man. You're the reason most of the Okay, you're the [laughter] most. >> Sitting in the back of a squad car usually makes people reflect a bit. Some react in tears, others in anger. But this guy Daniel experienced an absolute meltdown. >> Go right. Go right after this one. Go right. Turn off the blinker. Go. Right hand stick. Go. Turn off the Go right now. Please go. Please. Well, you were more than you from these. Go. I promise you. If not, we're done. Go. I know. As hard as I'm imagining, it's either up to right or left. It's up to you. Go. I'm hang. It's up to you. Ah, that's the funny part, Marie. That's the funny part, Marie. >> Daniel's night out got him the following charges. Two counts of obstructing a peace officer. Two counts of resisting a peace officer. Aggravated assault on law enforcement. Aggravated battery on law enforcement. An obstruction of justice. When a man kept harassing store employees on September 25th, 2024, the young women felt threatened and called police. Here's their account of what happened. >> What was he doing? Um, so he was screaming from over there earlier and he just stood there for a while just screaming random. Not at us, just scream. We sit outside when it's pretty slow. So we saw him coming. When he started getting closer and closer, he started asking us something. And so I was like, well, just to get on the safe side, let's bring our chairs in. Let's come in. Lock the door. He was like, "Let me in. Let me in, mama. Let me in. I got money. I want to shop. Let me in." And I'm just like, "No, we're we're closed right now. We're closed." So he bammed on our window like hit the window a couple times, >> kicked her Gatorade over there and said, "If you don't let me in, you're going to learn today. >> Y'all don't let me in, y'all going to learn today." So he had his book bag, so we got a little nervous. Know what he had. So we just kind of walked towards the back, >> called my manager, and then called you guys by then. >> Got made it. >> Would you say that uh provoked your peace? >> Heck yeah. >> Okay. The officer spotted the suspect next to a traffic sign and tried to approach the man in a calm manner. But as soon as he saw them approaching, he took his shirt off and squared up, ready for a fight. >> You're going to do this? >> We're going to rock and roll, guys. >> You got a warrant, buddy. >> We're going to rock and roll, bro. >> William, we got a warrant. >> I'm going across the street, bro. >> You got a warrant. >> You got a warrant for what? >> What you did last week? >> What's last week? Remember you were like stealing stuff from people's porches and stuff like that. >> It's already been done. >> You [music] got to warn about it today though. >> Get some. >> I don't want to have to tase you. >> Just turn around. >> Come on, guys. Let's do it. >> Just turn around. Put your hands on your back. [snorts] >> What are you doing? Let's do it, bro. >> You're really going to act like this? >> Oh, yeah. >> It's a book and release, bro. You're just going to get out of here. >> All right. Taser. Taser. Taser. Taser. >> Stupid. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Send us another Stop. >> Do you not want to hurt me? Send us another. >> While restraining a suspect might seem easy on TV, in reality, it's never that simple. Even with the two cops on top of him, the suspect here, William, quickly made it clear that the fight was far from over. >> I don't get what you want. >> Exactly. So, why are you acting like this? Now you're going to catch another car. >> Let him go. Come on. You're about to get tased. >> You're about to get tased. Get on your stomach. >> Come on. Tase him again. Get on your stomach. Expedite. >> Bro, >> are you done? >> No. >> Let go of my taser. >> During the struggle, the 52-year-old suspect managed to get a hold of the officer's taser and kept pressing the trigger, trying to empty the batteries to render the taser ineffective. >> Just chill out, dude. Just chill, William. >> Let me up. Just let me up. >> Give me your hands. Let me up. >> Let me the up, bro. >> No, we're past that now. >> Oh, no. >> Cuz you want to fight. >> Oh, no. >> Are you ready? >> No. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No. >> Just let me up, dude. Let me up and I'll stop. No. >> You have a warrant. You're going in regardless, will you? >> Going away, bro. You guys are alert, man. >> When the officers heard the sirens in the background, they felt relief since they knew their backup was getting close. 10 seconds later, the suspect found himself staring at another taser. And the question was, would it be enough to calm him down? >> You're going to learn today. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BACK. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. YOU'RE GOING TO GET tas back. HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK NOW. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND your back. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. Stop resisting. Hands behind your back. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. OKAY. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> JUST LET ME >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> PLEASE LET ME. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Even after multiple taser deployments, he still remained defiant, even daring the cops to tase him again. Clearly one of the most bizarre scenes we've seen so far. But every person has their limits of course. And the man eventually reached his hand behind. >> OKAY. BEHIND the back. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay, guys. >> Easy. Easy. Please. >> You fight one more time, YOU'RE GOING TO GET BIT. DO YOU HEAR ME? THIS DOG IS GOING TO ROCK YOUR WORLD. YOU FIGHT ONE MORE TIME. >> You okay? >> I'm good. You understand? Do you understand? >> Do you understand? Tensions were clearly high and at one point the cops threatened the man with a canine, hoping he'd finally give up. He did start to comply a bit, but with such an erratic suspect, the cops had to stay on guard. >> GET OVER HERE, DARLING. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> Get car. >> Get in the car. >> Easy. Let me get here myself. >> No. Easy. We tried easy already. Get in the car. GET IN THE CAR. >> Check out. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I think that's mine. >> Tommy tased him twice. I drive him. I don't know how many times. >> No effect at [snorts] all. He didn't react to it. >> And I know they got him. They were stuck in his back. >> Yeah. >> Got him from the gas station. >> Sunday morning, we dealt with him at the church. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And then later in the afternoon, he was stealing packages. >> We ended up >> taking him in. Welcome home, buddy. >> With William secured in the back of a squad car, the cops finally had a chance to catch their breath and discuss the insane altercation they just had. Considering how strong and resilient the man was, the cops concluded that he had to have been on drugs. That dude's high as he's strong as that taser wouldn't do anything, dude. >> Twice. You hit him twice, I drive some the out of him. >> I know. And he still >> And he reaction at all. He kept saying he kept saying, "I don't want a warrant. I don't want a warrant. >> Too bad." He got my hand. He grabbed my pinky like this and I I slipped my hand out of my glove and he yanked it. I was like, "Dude, he would have broke my finger." >> He was trying to break my finger. >> That dude was slow. >> Super. >> Now I got to throw these away. That's Daisy. Ow, dude. Brener hit him with a taser >> and [clears throat] then I'm wrestling him and like I'm getting shot. >> I saw I saw you like fly backwards. I was like he just got tased. >> And then as soon as I as soon as I saw that I looked up and tas I saw the taser go like this and slide off his back and hit me right in the I was like you mother. >> William was charged with disorderly conduct, multiple counts of aggravated battery, multiple counts of trying to disarm a police officer [music] and multiple counts of resisting arrest. He eventually got a plea deal, admitting to trying to disarm an officer, and the other counts were dropped. Following his arrest, he spent about 9 months in jail. On the 4th of January, 2024 in Taylor'sville, Illinois, the cops went to a residence to arrest Roy J. Bates. He had violated a protection order, and when they first encountered the man, he was forthcoming and polite. Sadly for the officers, the man's friendly demeanor didn't last. Man, how are you doing today? >> Huh? >> How are you doing today? >> Oh, this dusty mug. >> I got you. Are you Roy? >> Yeah. >> What are we doing here today? >> Oh, this is a mess in here, bro. It is. >> I tell you what, this is a dusty [ __ ] >> Hey, would you mind stepping out here and talking with me? I get that dust on there. >> Oh, I understand. Yeah. Okay. Um well I'm doing what I'm doing is um um this whole roof is >> so you got no insulation in there? >> Nothing, dude. We're getting ready to do all that stuff right now, but it's taking me a little bit of time. I'm I put I work my ass off in here all the time. I >> But when the kiddos go back to school, I got to limit my time. So >> yeah, >> I'm trying to get as much done as I can like this for you. >> No, I got you. Hey the most out of the dumpster, sir. What's up, sir? >> So, listen here. Here's why I'm down here. So, my chief actually asked me to come down here. Apparently, the state's attorney's office reviewed a report on you from December 4th, 2023 on a order of protection violation regarding your neighbor. You know anything about that? >> No. >> When he was asked about the protection order, he gave a very vague response. All he really said was that his neighbor was angry with him due to the noise during the reconstruction of his house. I don't really know the details of it, but the state's attorney's office believes there's enough there to charge you on BOP. So, I need you No, no, no, no. Not yet. No, no, no. Stop. Stop. Stop. >> He got you with the box cutter. He's inside. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> We going to go get him. >> Okay. Is there a dog in there? >> There might be. >> Yeah. Let's don't shoot him. Okay. Don't. >> Huh? >> Yeah. >> Don't shoot him. You said >> Well, unless you Okay. >> I mean, let's let's let's try work this guy out. >> Hey, come on out, man. >> NO, YOU GUYS. >> HEY, we need a shield. >> According to a later report, during that initial struggle, the officer's body cam was disabled. And at that point, Roy allegedly cut the officer's neck with a box cutter, narrowly missing a major artery. >> Hey, listen. Calm down. Okay, sir. >> All right, we're we got to talk to you. You going to come out? >> No, you're going to leave me alone. >> Well, leave me alone. >> Okay, Mr. Banks. >> Hey, we're not going nowhere, man. >> We don't have to. I'm not leaving you either. Well, okay. But listen, we're not leaving, too. We want you to calm down. Okay. >> Calm down. You guys need TO LEAVE ME ALONE. >> He's at the door now. >> There's no reason. I did not bother him. I'm trying to work. >> Okay. But listen, you >> talk to You can't >> put the weapons down. >> So, what? You just came at him with a box cutter at the door? >> Put the weapons down. >> Okay. >> Hey, this is down. >> This happened at the door. >> So, he'll do it at the door if he has to. Shortly afterward, additional units arrived on scene and they had battering rams and shields. The situation was high risk and there was no way of knowing what kind of weapons Roy had. >> Open the door. >> We don't want to hurt you. >> Open the door. >> Open the door. >> This is my property. >> Open. Hey, open the door, sir. >> No. Get off my property. >> Okay, we're coming in. >> We're coming in. >> No, we didn't break it. >> We're going to hit the door. Mr. B, come out. >> You have to back up. Leave me alone. >> We're not going anywhere, Mr. Bates. >> Don't make it worse. We should just stay here. Keep talking the back. >> We should stay here. Keep talking in the back. >> Yeah. You guys keep talking to him. Just give them back. Keep talking to him. >> You don't come with your weapon. There's no need for ours. >> Just put down the weapon. >> All you got to do >> just put it down and come down AND TALK TO US. >> WE'RE JUST GETTING DISTRACTED. DOWN. We're trying to hurt you again. >> Okay. If I hear you put yours down, I'll put mine down. >> No, no, no, no. >> As the unit moved to the back to look for a second entry point, the cops at the front kept Roy talking, waiting for a signal to move in. The idea here was to breach the house from two sides at once. >> I'd go now. You got one more. head. I don't know which way. >> Once the cops made their entry, they realized the suspect had run upstairs. They had no idea at all how far the man would take things, but it was clear he was not going to give up. Once the officers finally made contact, all hell broke loose. >> Right here. >> Stop right there. >> NOW, SHOW ME YOUR HAND. >> STOP. >> WE'RE INSIDE. WE'RE INSIDE. SHOOT. Get your hands down. HANDS DOWN. PUT ON YOUR FACE. GET ON YOUR FACE. GET ON YOUR FACE NOW. GET ON YOUR FACE. >> GET ON YOUR FACE NOW. GET ON YOUR FACE. GET ON YOUR FACE. GET ON YOUR FACE NOW. GET ON YOUR FACE. GET ON YOUR FACE. GET ON YOUR FACE NOW. Fish got it. >> Help me. Stop it. I'm stop. >> Even after they tased the man, he was still relentlessly fighting them. He attacked the cops with a pipe and at one point he managed to grab one of the officers guns. >> My gun. LET GO OF MY GUN. STOP. Stop now. >> No. Please. HEY. >> WHERE'S >> STOP NOW. HIT HIM AGAIN. I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU. HIT HIM AGAIN. I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU. >> Pull the door. >> WHERE'S STOP NOW. HIT HIM AGAIN. I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU. Hit him again. I'm going to shoot you. PULL THE DOOR. GET SOMEBODY. GET IN. >> SHOW YOUR HAND. SHOW YOUR HAND. SHOW YOUR HEAD SHOT. You okay? >> Roy broke free and slipped into another room. By that point, several cops had been injured and the fight was still far from over. The cops then proceeded to ram the door and used a 2x4 to pry it open. >> Mr. B, just give it up. Give it up. >> Hey, stop it. Show us your hands. >> It's done. It's over. >> It's done. You guys. >> Okay. >> All you should never Okay. Okay. Hey, we got to clear the rest of the house. >> After 20 minutes of fighting the officers and injuring four of them in the process, the man finally decided to surrender. His nonsensical rants showed how far from reality he really was. >> Leave me alone. >> Mr. Bates, >> bad people. >> We're not bad. >> Yes, you are. >> Come on. >> Come on. >> I know who you are. >> Come on, sir. I know what you are. >> Come on, Mr. Bates. >> Come on, Mr. Bates. >> You guys need to stop. Just stop. Stop it. Stop it. I'll get up. Give me a minute. >> Okay, get up. Come on. >> Give me a minute. You guys are horrible. There's no reason to have came to my house. No, >> Mr. SPACE, >> YOU CHARGED IN MY HOUSE. YOU SHOWED ME NO PAPERWORK OR NOTHING. NOTHING. >> We got to go. >> You showed me no paperwork or nothing. You just charged in my home. >> All right, Miss Space, let's walk out drag you out. >> You just charge into my home. Give me a bit too far. H just push me too far. H just push me too far. H just push me too far. His Hell just pushed me too far against it. Hold >> still. I got hell just pushed me too far. Hell just pushed me too far. >> I understand. >> Hell just pushed me too far. I'm going to sue you. I'm going sue everybody. You had no right to come to my house. There's no paperwork. Nothing. >> Okay. >> You guys just came in. >> Pull back out, guys. >> Unfortunate. >> Hey, anybody got a key? >> I was through every one of you. Harold just pushed me too far. Harold just pushed me too far. You guys got no paperwork. You just came in my house for You just owed me nothing. Nothing. You just came in. >> Bates was charged with felony attempted murder, felony attempt to disarm a police officer, felony armed violence, and seven counts of aggravated battery on a peace officer. According to records from the Illinois Department of Corrections, Bates later accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 7 years in prison. On the 2nd of June 2025 in Orlando, Florida, the cops were dispatched to a restaurant after a man refused to pay his bill. When the officers got there, the suspect who was standing in the street was pointed out by an employee. >> What's going on today, sir? How are you doing? >> You going to pay for your food? Okay. You not want to talk? Hello. He just said he's going to pay. So I don't know what the issue is. >> What happened? >> The issue is he has no money to pay. >> Uh he said that he has >> in my car. >> In your car. Do you have it now? Okay. Do you want to see if he is willing to pay or >> he's leaving? >> Are you leaving or are you paying? >> I'm going to my car to pay. >> Okay. What's in your car? Your wallet. >> My charger for my phone. >> Your charger for your phone. Okay. Your phone's on. >> No. No. No. >> What do you What in what language do you speak? >> I don't know that. >> Girl, what language do you speak? >> No. >> The woman you see sitting on the right said they arrived together and that she assumed he would pay even though they were just friends. The suspect was acting like he didn't speak English that well, but the fact that his friend was laughing was a hint that he might be trolling the cop. >> How much is the bill? >> Okay. >> No sense. >> No. >> What would you guys have done? >> All I had was an appetizer. >> All I have was an appetizer. >> Trespass. >> It says free appetizer on the door. >> Okay, that's it. Nothing more. >> Wait, wait. >> Okay. Do you have an ID on you, sir? >> No. >> No ID? Nothing? Cool. What's your first name? >> Okay, listen. I'll make this very simple. Okay, >> you're going to give me your ID and name. Give me your name and stuff. >> Do you want to go? You want to go to jail? >> Okay. >> Do you want to go to jail? >> Arrested. >> Then I need your name. >> D. Spell your first name for me or give me your ID. >> D. >> It's Daniel. >> What? >> Daniel. >> Daniel. You're going to tell me your name or I will take you to jail. It's very simple. Huh? >> Danielle. >> Then spell it. >> D A N I E L. >> D A L. >> After hearing what sounded like an insult in Spanish, the officer paused for a moment, probably considering cuffing the man right away. The suspect realized it and immediately asked to talk to the other cop. >> I want to talk to him. >> Talk to him. Go >> ahead. Chief, >> how you doing today, officer? Can I smoke my cigarettes? At least I can smoke in here. >> I want to smoke my cigarette outside. That's why I called the police. Smoke it. >> No sir. >> All right. This is your final chance. >> You're going to give me your exact name or I'm going to place you under arrest. >> So, what is your name? >> Danielle. >> Spell it. >> D A N I E L for Pandho. >> Daniel. >> Daniel. What is your middle initial? >> Pandho. >> Your middle initial is Pandho. Got it. >> What is your last What is >> What is your last name? >> Pendo. >> Pendiho. >> Daniel Pendiho. Pendihaho. >> Pendo could be the man's middle name, but it also means dumb in Spanish. By that point, it seemed like Daniel was just playing with the cops and they were running out of patience. Let's see if they managed to persuade the man to come out peacefully. >> What is your birthday? >> What is your birthday? >> All right, let's go. Stand up with hands behind your back. If >> you resist, you're going to get you're going to get pepper sprayed. It's going to hurt. >> Very simple. >> You are put behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No, you will not touch my phone. >> Head back. Can we get one more fight? One. >> You cannot put the OTHER LEGS. I got legs. >> Okay. Come on. Pepper spray the floor. Enjoy the spray pepper spray. Put your hands on your back. [snorts] Put your hands on your back. >> When verbal persuasion didn't work, he started resisting and soon enough he found himself on the ground. Well, if Pena wasn't his real middle name, it certainly should be because what Daniel did was really dumb. The pepper spray worked like a charm on him and then he pulled himself off the floor just enough to allow the cops to safely handcuff him. >> Oh, he had an ID. Let me know. Hey, I'm going to roll him this way to check his pocket. Please watch out. He likes to kick and all this fun stuff. >> There he goes. He just kick me right now. Right there. We're good. Right there, >> bro. He's got Oh, that's what the hell is earbuds? >> We probably will eventually. >> I got one of my >> All right, we're going to roll him the other way now. >> My mom's here to pay. >> Yeah, you're under arrest now. We're past that, buddy. >> You just committed two felonies and a couple misdemeanors. Enjoy that ride to jail, buddy. >> Cop. >> Yeah, you didn't do anything about it. >> I'm copying. I'm talking here. Let me let me talk to him. >> No, you're done. >> Let me talk to a supervisor. >> Well, that's another talk to a supervisor. >> I am the supervisor. The one you tried to choke. >> All right. Let me take me to the supervisor. >> We're done with this. >> Okay. >> We are done. >> Since he was completely unwilling to cooperate, the cops knew they'd have to use the hobble. Four of the cops were trying to put him in the squad car, and even at that point, using all that muscle was not a guarantee. >> Someone get these legs, cuz he's going to start kicking. >> You got legs? Okay, we got to cut. Bring him up. >> We got to move him up. >> We got >> We got We got >> Make sure that tight on his ankle. >> There he goes. >> Stop right now. >> Stop resisting, guys. >> You want to catch more charges? That's fine with me, but you better stop. >> Yes, sir. >> Stop picking. >> Can you go ahead and get that in there? Yeah, my >> me. [screaming] >> Chill. >> My knee. >> Your action. >> Hey, if we need to carry his with the hobble, then carry it with the hobble. >> All right. >> I say we leave him right here. >> Let's leave him here. >> We're going to roll him on his side, though, so he can't complain about being on his chest. Hey, if you start bucking or kicking or punching, you're going right back on your stomach. You got me >> towards me. According to police reports, as he was being placed in an ambulance, Daniel spatted one of the cops in the face. After the hospital, he was booked in the Orange County Jail and was charged with battery, petty theft, battery by strangulation, two counts of battery on law enforcement, and resisting with violence. He spent about 5 months in jail, and was given 2 years probation. On the 5th of October 2024 in New Linux, Illinois, the cops got a 911 call from Waffles Cafe. A concerned citizen called in saying two men were arguing in the parking lot. Reportedly, an older male tried to get a younger male into a vehicle. Once the officers got there, things got even stranger. >> Healthy with him. I'm 22. >> I'm 22. >> He had a drink. We came in here to eat and he baked in a big I'm not drunk at all, sir. >> Okay. He won't leave me alone. >> Okay. >> What the hell is going on here? >> The problem is >> a big scene in this business. >> I need soda. >> Okay. >> So, he won't let me. >> So, you go to soda to waffles. >> Soda. They serve they serve soda. >> Okay. Did you >> Did you eat here? >> He won't let me stop for a second. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Let me ask the questions you answer. >> Who are you exactly? >> I am Officer Jeff Lindamman with the New Linux Police Department. >> I know. Okay. >> Do not touch me. >> Everything is video and audio recording. >> I love it. You want to? It's mine. >> I said mine. >> Okay. What is your issue today? >> I want my soda whiskey or something. >> This is what we This is what we're going to get into an argument with. This is why the police are here cuz you want a soda. >> Soda. >> I got a sack. >> The younger man was loud and belligerent and he was focused on just one thing, which was getting a soda. His father had tried to remove him from the situation, but when the officers arrived, things just escalated further. >> I want my soda. >> I'm here to investigate something. What is there any stop? >> You touch me again. >> Stop. I tell you to stop, you stop. >> That's right. >> Don't Don't you Don't. Please, please don't do that. >> I got money. >> Okay. You know what? Can you find out what's going on with this? >> Just give me two minutes and you can get your soda. Okay. >> Just give me two minutes. Stop. I just asked for two minutes of your freaking time. That's all I'm asking for. >> He's in there. >> Okay. I'm asking for soda. Soda. >> Yeah. >> Stop. >> Soda. >> I don't care if you say soda a thousand times. >> Right. >> Despite the cop's attempts to deescalate things and get to the bottom of the problem. The suspect here was refusing to cooperate. Then he decided to do the dumbest thing possible. >> I asked you to stop. You're willing to stop until I investigate this. >> I stop. Soda now. NO, I GOT A SACK. >> WHAT DOES A sack mean? >> Stop. >> I can take your sack if you want. Get me out of here. >> Stop right here. >> I want to go into restaurant. >> You're not going anywhere until I leave. >> That's what I'm trying to tell you. It's >> Hey, what are you doing? It's my money. Don't take that. >> You are under arrest. Aggravated battery. Go for >> Get off. I got one. >> Stop. >> The suspect identified as James Rossal Jr. was taken to a squad car. At that point, it wasn't clear if it was a mental health issue or a case of substance abuse. And shockingly, the strangest thing was yet to come. >> You got soda? >> No, I don't have soda. >> Hey, mother. That's my money. That's my money. >> Sit down. >> My [music] money. Get your feet in there. >> Who are you? >> I'm going to give you back my money. Your money? >> You give it back? >> Yes. I'm going to give you back your money and your vape. >> Yeah. >> Put your feet in the car. >> Get your feet. >> Get the [ __ ] phone on. >> Get your feet in the car. >> I want somebody else. >> You're not having anyone else. This isn't White Castle. >> Listen. Put your feet in the car and we'll get you somebody else. Okay. >> Who are you? >> Hey, what's going on? You just threw a punch at him in his face. You're good. You're You're arrested. You need to get in the car. >> I'm not arrested. You are arrested. That's why you're in handcuff right now cuz you punched him in the face. >> So, you need to put your feet in the car >> and then we're going to go from there. Okay, James. >> Okay. Put your feet in the car. >> I'd like out. >> Put your You're not going out. >> There's soda. >> Soda. >> Put your feet in the car. >> You like it, don't you? >> Soda. >> James, what are you What are you trying? >> James, put your feet in the car. >> Soda. Put your feet in the car. >> At one point, the suspect here tried to bargain with the cops. He agreed to put his feet in the car under one condition. The cops had to do him a favor and one of the cops even agreed to do it. >> Hey, I'll put my my feet in the car if you can give me some soda. I I'm diabetic. >> I'll [clears throat] go get you. >> I'm diabetic. >> In the car, I'll go get you some. >> Can you do that? I'll go get you some. >> You'll get Can you get meat? >> I'll ask him. But you got to put your feet in the car first. >> I don't trust you. Okay. >> Okay. I'm trying. >> It's hot meat. I like hot meat. >> Do we have a car that does not have a single page? >> Hey, you got my vape. >> I do. >> Can I hit that [ __ ] >> No. >> Do you have a >> I love it. >> Good. >> You love it? >> Yeah. >> You see that [ __ ] >> Nope. A sensation that can be striven to your I want that. >> Let me hit that. >> Soda. >> Nope. >> Soda. You're doing this to me. It hurts. >> Yep. >> Psych. He's No, he's going to jail. >> I know, but the waist. >> I don't care. >> Help. >> Get out. unbuckle. >> Instead of being taken to jail, James was taken to the Silverc Cross Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. And even though he spat in one of the paramedics faces in the process, he was later released without charges. That being said, 2 days later, the cops then caught up with him again in a Walmart parking lot. >> Valent White 2014. He is attached. Unless Dave cut her. >> No, we check. But uh Sergeant telling me that the brother went back to Tennessee with the mom. >> Really? >> Yeah. Knock on the front window. He pops up. Never mind. You're good. [snorts] That's Junior. Junior cut his hair. >> Really? >> Yeah. What's up, dude? >> You okay? >> Yeah. >> How are you? >> I'm good. >> Can you step out? >> Yeah. >> Step back over here. >> Um, so here's what's up, bud. Turn around. >> Put your hands on the trunk. >> You ain't going to poke a stab in the sun like that, right? No. >> Okay. On the 7th of October, 2024, James was again taken into custody at about 5:30 a.m. They charged the man with resisting arrest and two counts of aggravated battery.
