on April 2nd 2024 officers were called to the library in regards to a man who was pretending to sleep ignoring security and refusing to leave what's up sleep in the library told him twice to leave it won't acknowledge me won't look up won't move since you're out let's go get out he won't leave so okay trespassed okay if we can get him identified it be gone for a week okay so hello sir how are you hey you all right hey Police Department police department come on you all right Police Department you need medical attention you all right you just tired what's your name [Applause] all right come on we need to get up they want you out of here all right I need your ID they're W you trespassed from here so you need to leave is he fine beforeand this is the way I found in and won't acknowledge remember actions have consequences I was sleeping no you weren't you can't actively resist me if you're asleep no I don't remember doing anything what the hell I swear I don't remember doing anything did not have that on me for any intentional reason I just had to move out of where I was and move into a different place that's why I came here with all of that on me looks like you need help professional help so I think they're going to get it to you okay man please that's what you need Jade I'm going to get a picture of you just cuz you you did get a little bit of a nose bleed look at especially that you guys want permanently trespass we'll do the criminal trespass since he just kept stucking around there after I told him to Y he would not get you said he was there for like 20 minutes maybe I just noticed him and I started talking I said dude got to wake up I did a lap he still asleep I said dude you're out is he homeless do we know yeah homeless homeless all right all right take a few deep breaths man take some deep breaths I can't I don't know what I did I swear to you I do not know what I did so at this point it's the officers out there asked you um to security asked you believe you didn't answer him I I was then we showed up we we moved you tried wak you up woke you up asked you to identify yourself you refused and then refused to leave I do not I do not remember anything that I swear to you okay well yeah there's cameras of everything so that's kind of what's going on right now the only thing I remember is when my face got hit on the ground and ever since that I remember after that I swear all right so real quick man just because you are in handcuffs and you are the back sit in the back of a cruiser I'm going to just let you know your rights okay you have the right to remain silent anything you say may be used against you in a court of law you have the right to advice in presence of attorney if you cannot afford an attorney one may be provided to you without cost or charge to you okay you have the right to have an attorney present during questioning you understand those rights yes sir okay so those rights in mind you want to talk you want to talk about anything I just don't know why I I don't know what happened I swear okay so like I explained SEC security saw you noding off that you weren't answering their questions they asked you to leave you sleeping I didn't get any sleep they tried waking you up telling you to leave then we we arrived we actually Shook You you actually looked at us I'm so sorry I didn't I and then you you tried you tensed up and you resisted with the officers all I remember is the hearing stop resisting and then I'm like and I just W you've been diagnosed anything before no sir any mental health or anything like that issues that you know of I don't think so nothing that I know of Sir okay so that's where we're current currently sitting at they tried getting you to stand up and you tensed up and they sound like they took you to the ground yeah I don't know what happened until like ever since my face got hit on the ground all I remember is after that I swear the only thing you remember is your face hit in the ground yeah like that's when it all came to me because I didn't know what was going on okay well so there's camera footage of everything so that's kind of where it's sitting at I'm not saying you're lying or anything but if my eyes did open before my face hit the ground I do not remember remember that well your eyes were very open before they actually did all that I do not open I do not remember opening my eyes I just remember my smacking my face on the G and okay the Babb gun I had in my pocket I only had it was the only reason why I had it was because I was at a friend's house for a little while staying there you well you shouldn't be walking around with anything like that that looks like a legit gun man I know I know I know first of all in there it shows no weap no firearms of any kind are allowed in there there's a sign big sign says no firearms so that that could have gotten you in serious trouble man that that can potentially get you shot yeah I did not have that on me in any way shape or form it was in your pocket man I saw them pull it out I know but it was not in there for a bad way okay I would have had it how long you been living out in the streets just today just today where were you living at before this um out on Blanchard Street I can't really remember is that where your parents live or who lives down on Blanchard Street was with a friend so the friend took you out yeah cuz he didn't really have much more room for me and gotcha I've been looking for a job for the past few weeks so no narcotics anything like that today no drugs or anything like that okay all right so I'm just explaining the as everything happened to you okay that that's why are you able to loosen these a little bit the handcuffs yeah I I can't I can't loosen them right now the the other officer is going to come grab you out here in a minute and so sounds like as of now you there isn't be you're going to have to post bond if not you're going to have to go to jail H long just a day or so until the judge sees it so you haven't been judge will look at it tomorrow today's tues being arrested all this is my first ever time being arrested or anything so if you've never been in jail before the judge will probably review this whole case by tomorrow judge will look at everything if the judge will do one of two things um he'll either release you on what's called own recognizance Bond if you've never been in trouble that might be what he does but that's going to be completely on the judge trouble own recognizance Bond basically just said that you have you have to go to court on so and so date if not they can issue a warrant for your arrest so option b is the judge will say that you have to post bond and you'll sit stay there until this case is until the judge says otherwise till you post a bond the judge says otherwise I remember doing anything bad if I can I just like get released today and come back unfortunately I swear you I will be back at whatever time you tell me to be back unfortunately it's not up to be man unfortunately it's not my my call it's above my head man above my pay grade so jail is not as bad as it seems they'll take care of you no I just had all stuff to take care of today now I can't do that you got a what I know this stuff I was going to try and take care of today like what were you going to try and take care of I was waiting on my girlfriend at the library and I fell asleep who's your girlfriend her name's Kayla where okay your your girlfriend live here in Finley okay we were together if we don't have a house now and that's why I was waiting at the L so me and her can try and figure something out okay I I understand all that manigot that is true right okay so like I said I understand everything you're telling me we're just unfortunately we we're we're we're we're at we're here where we're at so [Music] so these officers when they're done they're going to be walking you like I said you'll be sitting in jail at least for theight judge will review everything as long as you haven't been in trouble before then um May release you they may release you tomorrow oh really so if I remember right um video Court is at 2:30 so you you'd see the judge at 2:30 in the afternoon and they review everything if they release you they send paperwork and you're out shortly after that do you have do you have my phone so I can at Le we have your book bag if it's in there I have my phone I was on my phone I was I there was no it might have been in there I didn't look at your stuff man it it's there okay I didn't look at through anything so your phone's in there can I use it to color please well I can't I can't take the handcuffs off right now man especially everything that happen like to hold that you guys can hold it everything I just want to call her and talk to her so I can let her know that I'm okay so she has any questions I'm sure that I'm sure they're going to explain everything to her so she comes asking for you do you have an Ohio ID yet at all by chance man no okay I saw you were walking around with your birth birth certificate that's why that's it all I have is my birth certificate I I just want to call her let her know what what's going on they're going to explain that if she calls us we'll let her know as well that where you're at let her know that you're safe okay I can't remember what I did wrong I swear I can't remember anything okay well I said I like I said security asked you to leave you didn't answer them we showed up we asked you to leave as well you didn't answer us as I as I can I'm just explaining it to you we asked you to leave you didn't not you didn't we asked you to get up you didn't want to get up they they asked ID you you didn't answer them at all I don't remember doing any of that all I remember is my face hitting the ground hard as hell and that woke me up from whatever I whatever kind of sleep I was it I got you I don't know what it was but that was a a very deep sleep for some reason all right all right okay so these officers going to walk you over okay man so just cooperate with them be cool with them grab bag hang on that y step down right here what I did we're going to walk right over here right I don't remember what I did I swear I swear I don't remember what I did at all I just remember hitting my face on the ground harded that's all I swear to you I swear I'm tell God is true unfortunately it doesn't really matter what you do or don't remember all that matters is what you did I know I did not do it I did not do any of it on purpose you do it it's all I did I did not do any of it on purpose I'm so sorry I'm not mad at you but I do have to do my job I know I just is it okay you you my I can talk my girlfriend's right
