marred by a single act of brutality on the fateful day of September 8th 21 Sergeant Huxley found himself in a situation that would forever alter his life and the life of Germaine vaugh no nobody cares police put down the court proceedings that followed saw Sergeant Huxley facing federal charges of deprivation of rights under color of law despite prosecutors pushing for a sentence of 18 to 24 months citing the need for accountability within law enforcement judge Magnus Stinson ultimately sentenced Sergeant Huxley to one year and a day in federal prison followed by 2 years of supervised release in Police Department on the unfortunate day of August 1st 2019 officer Butler found herself in a distressing situation while carrying out her duties to protect and serve the community officer Butler along with two fellow officers responded to a call at an apartment complex in Lafayette Indiana their mission was to apprehend a Suspect with an active warrant little did they know this routine assignment would take a perilous turn you're welcome to goe if you want to and check make sure your dog's locked up but if your dog if you know your dog's locked up you but she I promise she's as long as she ain't going to get out then we're good thank you and absolutely nobody can be inside nobody else has a key no okay perfect well she has a key but well I'm saying I want to make sure I'm not officers present equipped with body cameras providing crucial footage for analysis after careful review by a competent review board it was determined that the discharge of the firearm was an unfortunate accident devoid of any malicious intent or negligence on the part of Officer Wright this one mistake could have caused the cop her life but in the next case it gets even crazier he just brutality on September 14th 2014 Bryce Masters a high school senior at the time found himself at the mercy of Officer Timothy rynolds during a traffic stop in Independence what began as a mundane encounter quickly spiraled into a harrowing ordeal of excessive force and disregard for human rights oh way down I can't H you got real all the way down you can't hear me roll all the way down I can qualified immunity a shield too often employed to evade accountability the courts rightfully denied his plea this landmarked decision by the 8th us Circuit Court of Appeals sends a resounding message no one not even those tasked with upholding the law is above it there are a lot lot of cops that go unpunished for the various unacceptable acts that they perform but these cops that we discussed today definitely had a good serving of karma however these are only just a hand few there are still many that unfortunately get away with it but we can hope that they too will get what they deserve if
