sure as officers of the law report to duty get in their uniforms strap on their vests and hit the streets they never know what's going to happen next they might spend the day doing boring traffic stops but they might also get into a shootout today we explore how a seemingly tedious day of being a cop can turn unexpectedly into something different I don't think any officer of the law likes encounters with junk people they're unpredictable probably wreaking of alcohol and it's bound to be an unpleasant experience no matter how you look at it this is one of those encounters meet Bobby Confused and is obviously under the influence of some kind of substance it could be alcohol but it could also be drugs either way it's not something I recommend doing don't be like Bobby kids the suspended license the conversation started calmly and at first it looked like a routine traffic stop but as you're about to witness the cop got more than he bargained for hey there I'm officer Jack with City Police Department I'm doing good uh do you know why I'm pulling you over yeah because my license is suspended yeah man what are you doing on driving I literally was going to go pick up a g that work for R Taco Bell okay I just I I know man I'm sorry why you know your license is suspended why are you doing that I know she she didn't have a ride and like I mean she sits there and literally blows me up all the time I stopped over you know I qu tripping I know I don't have my license like I'm sorry what time does Taco Bell close at 1:30 okay you're a little early aren't you well are yeah it's it's um it's underneath okay so this dude's story is kind of strange isn't it who goes out with the intention of getting some food and take snacks with them you see it's those little inconsistencies that are considered as red flags and that makes the cops dig further then he says that he really likes his girlfriend but can't even remember her last name I don't have my actual id id this is my expired one okay sorry man do you have insurance for the car at all man no insurance so you're really should come on Nathan just and honestly I've been dealing with so much [ __ ] like having to deal with the court system and everything with everything that's been going on I just like she's actually someone decent you know I mean that's what I try to look out for who is it um my known for a year but can't tell me her last name um and from from Taco Bell that doesn't close for another hour he said he was going to get food there but he's eating right now from Quick Trip Christy unknown last land it's obvious that there's something fishy about the situation so when the officers realize Nathan has open Dr cases from the past they decide to take this investigation a step further they want to search both him and his car but they can't do any of it without permission or probable cause which one will it be hey Nathan you want to step out the car for me so I can talk to you man you can bring your snack if you want do I got to get this thing like driver over here okay how far is a registered driver away Lally right over there okay all right Nathan so I just looked at your history I know couple open big drug cases okay so you can see where I'd be a little concerned about that um they're going to some guy who's like medical emergency that's that's why he left um so are there any drugs on you or in the vehicle man no when's the last time you used anything literally it was like the day I got out of jail the last time and then I always started with a girl that I met up at a Bo and they sat there and they ran into the report system you know like they told me like if anything was going to happen they you know end up going and like charging me that was notifying me of what's going on you know things of that nature and I nothing happened nothing happened nothing happened and then all of a sudden like December 1st came rolling around and I still didn't have any charges at 8: in the morning and all of a sudden it was 9:06 I got charged and they tried running me through court at [ __ ] literally like 11:00 and got a warrant for tried to get a warrant the judge didn't even Grant a warrant for it and they didn't even charge me with anything but party to a prank for everything she got charged with you know Nathan goes on to explain how he was charged with something he didn't do and I really want to trust him because he seems like a nice guy but my gut instinct is telling me otherwise and these cops aren't buying it either like I just I hit a bad no so I'm just going to cut to the chase can I can I search real quick make sure you don't have any on you yeah absolutely okay just want to go right to the car Absol I do want you to know right here there's a b gun right okay why do you have that and I just I just keep I don't want to get okay step over absolutely so don't be reaching anywhere near that okay no no absolutely you can grab it inside here oh got you okay I one second yep the officers find the BB gun but that's the least of their concerns they're about to ask Nathan to allow his car to be searched he starting to look anxious and somewhat defeated it's another red flag which tells the cops there's probably something in his car there nothing in the car or anything like that you one driving it has anyone smoked any me in it recently anything like that no nothing not even friends or anything like that oh can I can I search the car you like everything like the D did I'm going to look through stuff but I know I'm not going to rip your I'm not going to like tear panels off or anything yeah we respect your property I just I don't care just like don't in the center T it's nothing toal it's just like it's what okay it's [ __ ] from a buddy of mine that came out as hel um a manual for like a okay no judgment from us man Weir things you're not you're not going to surprise us when car so is that a yes to search your car or no have to I can't persuade you one way or the other I just can only ask you officer Jacqueline proceeded to explain that should he decline the search they bring out a drug sniffing dog if the dog should indicate there are drugs in the car that will give them probable calls to do the search anyway and Nathan is really starting to worry now if there's no in your car man you have nothing to worry not worried about it you're getting a little emotional that's why it's making me concerned that there might be something in there no like I mean if you guys want to rip through I really don't care I just I get in h ass all the time about thisit have you working at all let try it man than for real while these two are chatting away the other officer brings out the K9 unit and not long after the dog clearly signals there might be something in the car that means Nathan is about to be detained as the officer does a more thorough search of his car all right so car did indicate on your or the dog did indicate on your car okay so I do have to put you in handcuffs and your AR rained all right put your hand on your back for [Music] me I'm giving you the last chance to tell me if there's anything in there okay that's why also asked you if possibly anyone had smoked in there at any recent time like early in the day a recent is it very earlier in the day someone smoked in there that's extremely recent smoked like weed okay that'd be why my dog wants to jump in their window I'm sorry see man right now you're not in arrest you are just detained while we do our search okay I know man hey wait wait wait there's something right here by my pants what's this that's a seat belt you're sitting on it I say man this please don't ter out of my vehicle they won't have to tear anything from Nathan's vehicle everything was found neatly packed and sorted ready for sale it seems that Nathan was not so innocent after all his charges just kept piling up possession with intent Marana possession with intent possession of scheduled 2 narcotics possession of Dr paraphernalia and felony bail jumping and and just think if his license hadn't expired maybe he wouldn't have been caught at all let's put things into gear as we follow a New Mexico police officer in Hot Pursuit the SUV supposedly passed the patrol vehicle at 125 mph the patrol car engaged in Pursuit which didn't last long it ended in a massive [Music] crash [Music] I didn't even choose to [ __ ] Ride Like That Bo you in the car with them bro I was just trying to get a ride home is there anybody else inside the vehicle I don't know sir who are you uh we're right here it's my brother's business okay you're not I just ask you [ __ ] left in the I don't know what's going on in there anybody in there friend in there Stiller took off running check there got they roll yeah I'm sorry send a couple more units there's a building that was hit possible passenger that ejected as the officer walks through the sight of the accident you can see how massive the crash was there's debris everywhere and it's incredible that no one got seriously injured one of the suspects is missing but but the other was held at gunpoint by concerned citizens and is currently being placed in the patrol car he seems to think he can talk to the person he hears on the police radio have a seat God damn have a seat hey hey excuse damn it Dopey y you have to press the button before you talk if you want him to hear you the ambulance is on its way but a bigger problem for this young man is that he's being arrested as the officer reads and Miranda writes the young man asks if the driver of the car is alive I you have the right to consult with an attorney and have an attorney PR during questioning if you cannot afford an attorney do not can you $230,000 worth pills as well as $130,000 in cashh the younger man 22-year-old Jonathan Akuna was accused of leaving the scene of a crash and resisting evading or obstructing an officer he has since been released but viz has a different story apparently he's been arrested 27 times in New Mexico and his home was raided by the violent gang task force he's now facing charges related to the crash of speeding DWI leaving the scene of a crash and other crimes including probation violation what's your name my name Mandy all right so the reason why I stopped you is cuz you just went by the stops are think anyone is buying her story the deputy asked for permission to search her car which she declines but there is another reason the officer's so suspicious here's her story I'm trying to get these people so I saw the car going into blam they go into an empty lot they they opened the truck and they were like ding all bloody and [ __ ] they do the stop sign and then over here she cuts off something that's trying to turn as well doesn't want us to search AP and I have no idea what the is going on with the suspect like I it's a rental and she now wants to go to hospital she it and we had to get to come back so she may have it she had honor huh I she had on her so that's probably what's going to so we got a sniff before she getss taken the hospital surger all right so the deputies suspect the woman had cocaine in the car or inner possession they deploy a canine unit it's the same as with Nathan before if the dog signals to drugs they'll have the opportunity to legally search the suspect's car sit want see up want see up see in just a few seconds the dog starts jumping on the car signaling he founds but as soon as that's over the suspect throws another desperate attempt to prevent the search I have okay I have a medical card sir okay canot search my okay I can no you cannot stop [Music] as you probably noticed the car is a mess the glove compartment was open and stuff was thrown all over the vehicle which corroborates the depuy's account that the suspects were throwing stuff out the mail officer finds aack and takes it to the deputy for testing the Medics are about to take the suspect to the hospital but she has to be searched first yeah have R everywhere I know I fell well you must have rolled a lot don't fall what's up I don't know you don't know oh my God what is that okay oh my God no that yes can you hold [Music] this my here hands on your back all right spread your feet again I don't crack before anything else ma'am no I didn't even know that was no don't have to go for as crazy as it sounds the suspect keeps claiming that she has no idea where those drugs came from I mean if it was in a bag you could say it's not your bag but if it's in your bra there's no way youd didn't notice it being there eventually she was charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance after pleading no contest she spent 90 days in jail you see the lives of police officers are anything but dull sometimes they get a good laugh other times they get to put away criminals even though it's extremely dangerous the job of a cop can
