cops are entrusted with keeping us safe while upholding the law but what happens when they cross the line to make an arrest leading to costly legal repercussions here are four instances where idiot now detained come on this is Miss Garner a 73-year-old dementia patient who on June 26th 2020 was apprehended by Loveland City police after leaving a Walmart store with groceries worth $14 including a Pepsi a candy bar a T-shirt and some shout wipe refills without paying the officer's unnecessary use of force during the arrest led to his administrative leave and a federal civil rights lawsuit filed on behalf of Karen Garner by the Loveland attorney all right stand up I'm not doing anything right now you're resisting which is not going to fly with me and before that you tried to steal from refused to stop refused to listen to lawful orders and to fight me this is what happens when you fight the police I have to use Force to F safely detain her that's what this is this isn't just some random act of aggression oh I don't know if you realize that yeah well the way that I see her from over there you I was like that's not but you see you don't know the whole situation that's the thing yeah you know but it's like but knowing the situation do you feel differently now oh yeah but you know like seeing it from there that that guy just walking yeah I get that I get that so when I went to go grab her and talk to her she started running leaving pulling away from me trying to fight me well that's the thing I didn't see it running you know exactly so before you go to a snap judgment you got to get all the facts but right here she wasn't running I I see her walking right there you pull over I got to deal with this you hang tight okay get your feet in the car all right here let me see your feet oh I'm home I'm going home all right here I'm going pick your feet up okay let's uh give me let's get her out over here on the ground we can hobble her and then we'll get her in the car on the ground on the ground on the ground going I'm going home we will figure that out it's lazy going stop doing that I'm going all right a bystander who witnessed the arrest and the unjust use of force approached the officer attempting to stand up for Miss Garner and questioning the basis for the unnecessary arrest the lawsuit states that Miss Garner suffered a dis located shoulder a broken humorous and a sprained wrist during the arrest Miss Garner who was suffering from dementia had been stopped as she was about to leave the store without paying for the $14 worth of groceries she was escorted back inside where the items were taken from her according to the lawsuit Miss Garner attempted to hand over her credit card to pay for the items but they refused to accept it we catch her here walking on Photo yeah she's walking right here the myi siren kep walking said please stop stop she looked at me kept going saying no I'm going home so I went to grab her started pulling away from me and stuff like that so I was by myself so I went to the ground we struggled and rolled for a little bit um I see that yeah yeah and then I got her detain she showed up while I had her up against the car cuz I couldn't get her in the car and right all that stuff so we struggled over there for a little while and then we brought her into this car cuz mine was locked and she wouldn't get in she'd get in wiggle out get in wiggle out all this stuff then finally like you know let's get to the ground get her in a hobble she been drinking or something or I have no idea she hasn't talk to me much okay all right good good all right um let's get out of station yeah go from there so we have I still need to figure out what we have there okay you want him to go you want K to go over there did you go do that cuz they got the property back from before she left okay from the shop looking yeah yeah we you go over there and see see what yeah what she how much what how much all that Jaz yeah you were you guys talking to anybody over there no I just came here cuz she left and I found her all right I'll go over there the bot all right and I'll meet you guys down Tom cool thanks you guys are okay yep we're good you're a little muddy dude I think we're doing bloody and little muddy that's how it works yeah is the blood on her yeah that's her blood you're not bleeding are you and this is D oh he probably wants to talk to you he just showed up and started filing asking us yeah I've explained him the situation he's a lot better now Miss Garner was later taken to the police station where according to her lawsuit she spent 2 hours in a Loveland police jail cell and an additional 3 hours in a Cell at the larer county jail what the 200 for what well at least resisting right now is got a 200 right yeah okay all right hey let's get her down the station okay we don't need to wait for capella uh no we can see what what he I mean we know we know she what's it say she stole some stuff and they caught her before she left and got it back and then she ran out so we have the and then you contacted her for that she resisted resisted we're good either way so we're good either either way she's going all right if they decide not to prosecute I don't care cool okay we'll head down there while miss Garner's case clearly involved in unnecessary use of violence that resulted in a lawsuit against the arresting officer the officer in the next video is another example of law enforcement misconduct leading to legal consequences and ultimately losing the case how's it going man offer LS Clarkson officer apprehended a black man for attempting to get on his motorbike claiming the man was pretending to have access with keys in hand the suspect repeatedly asked the officer to State the reason for the arrest a struggle ensued as the suspect resisted the unnecessary arrest prompting the officer to tase him this excessive use of force led to the officer being sued additional units why are you detaining me put your hands behind your back why are you detaining mat the description of a vehicle proud suspect at this time you're being detained detained for what what did he do what did I do stop officer harassed and with the use of force arrested an innocent citizen who clearly knew his rights despite the citizen demands for a proper basis for the arrest the officer proceeded with the wrongful arrest this incident led to a massive lawsuit against against the Loveland police which they lost resulting in a payment of $290,000 in Damages we try to be shoulders [ __ ] up you're [ __ ] time on September 16th body Cam and dash cam footage captured a Platville police patrol car being hit by a train while a detained suspect was inside this incident occurred under the jurisdiction of
