[Music] on the evening of April 10th 2022 The kyoga Falls Police pulled over a suspicious vehicle with Shawn Michael Whitaker 38 and Dwayne Jordan 33 inside Shawn tried to pass himself off as law enforcement flashing a fake badge and telling a convoluted story about Firearms meanwhile Dwayne's nonsense only fueled the officer's disbelief their failed attempt at Deception quickly backfired Landing them in deeper trouble turn the car off turn the car off put your hands out of the window your right hand grab your car keys and throw them out of window where your keys at my right pocket all right just keep your hands out of the window am okay where's your firearm at we just got a call over the radio for a signal 44 we have two officers on the other side of a they just called for request for help you a police officer do you need my assistance I'm armed security officer so you're running red lights I wasn't able to get my lights down you're running red lights yes I ran a red light two of them what's going on B how you feeling you're not a police officer man I know that you're going to come out first okay are you armed yes all right just step out and face away from me all right no okay but if we find out yeah it was a mistake it's not what it is they bought it I mean then we'll just push up to the detective bureo and they'll find out why uh finfer is purchasing stolen Firearms say if it wasn't fer it was the gun Alliance I'm pretty sure he bought it from but were you were you with him or not I was with him so where were you at I was at Finn he he bought most of his guns from fin were you with him when he physically grabbed this gun off the shelf and purch it so where was that at in Kent so what is this other gun shop you're talking about say he he also bought a bunch the descriptors that it was yes it was a tan Glock right that we we went through all the serial numbers on it and then made sure we confirmed that it was stolen and kept doing it and they called the records apartment someone at the record department down there came in and where Alabama though Birmingham that's so crazy like I said he bought it at Finn fur so I don't because okay in my mind how would I be able to get a brand new inl inbox Glock and everything if it was stolen I don't know man like I said I'm not trying to [ __ ] you dude I'm just trying maybe I'm listen you're not being charged with stealing a firearm right you're getting charged with rece leaving stolen property so yeah but isn't that still a disqualifier for my CCW and [ __ ] it's it's going to be a felony sir a what you're you're getting a felony the reason you're being arrested today and we're not issuing warrants because your story is kind of like like it it's weird man like first like you were you consistent about bir Outfitters out there in Canton and then you're telling about this place called bird Outlanders which is in Alliance and you don't really know if it was purchased there or if it it's in Canton I'm pretty sure it's in maybe it's bird Islanders and then you're not the one who purchased the firearm you're telling me it's gifted to you so yes my uncle gave it to me so the thing is who if you if you're saying your uncle gave it to you your uncle could have stole the firearm man and he gave you a stolen gun say my uncle was 61 I mean I don't know man that that's that's the thing like if you if it was like oh yeah no I bought the gun me 100% I have my name on it I I have the paperwork I purchased it here and here you're saying you got it from somewhere else like you're telling me well my uncle gave it to me they bought guns and like Were You There When They purchased gun or did he just buy a gun and he said yeah I bought this gun too and gave it to you no he I was there with him when he bought it cuz my grand father was with us yeah I would recommend pleading your case man I would I would get all the things you need to provide it it it is weird because we're a little bit of ways away from Alabama but because usually firearms that are stolen are kind of are going to stay like within the you know the state not really like cross lines or anything if they do it's going to be like the next state over or not yeah and that's that's my biggest thing that I'm trying to stress like there's no no way that it's stolen because he bought it here in can I don't know man it could be a whole lot of cracks and you may have just gotten the the bad lick of it and I mean what comes down to it man we would never found out if you would have not ran that red light multiple red lights and you you were you were doing something that you weren't supposed to and then for some odd reason you got caught up with something that you shouldn't have had okay so weird question am I am I going to be able to stay in my clothes no you're going to go in prison clothes has your uncle ever been to Alabama no has your grandfather ever been to Alabama not that I'm aware I mean I don't know man I I don't know read your case man this that's the best advice I got for you Shawn was booked into the jail charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer obstructing official business and providing false information while Dwayne was charged with complicity and obstructing justice both were later released on bond pending court appearances
