So, if you're not a cop when they get here Now he's saying he wants to stay. The man who later identified himself as Jeremiah Payne was determined to see the ordeal through. The officer must have realized that he made a grave mistake as he tried to claim that he hadn't detained Jeremiah and his family. At this point, however, Jeremiah already had his mind set on teaching the idiot cop a lesson. I'm not going to thank you. Just You know Oh, I'm not going to run from them. I didn't do nothing wrong. He did. What do you mean? Threw me down on the ground. Put his knee in my throat. Literally had me down on the ground. All because I asked for his name and badge number. playing. Said he was going to have him arrested and taken to jail. And I'm like So, I want to press charges on him. I have it on video. Would you like to see it? And I don't think you can I don't know if you can really arrest him. I just put your hands up. Just because he's a cop, he don't have qualified immunity. Keep your hands to yourself. Hold on. Hello, sir. See, I was sending him, baby. No. Baby, come here. And you should let them know who I am. He's about to be famous. Hey, can you stand here? Can you watch her for a second? Yeah. Stand right here, baby. What are you doing? What is your name again? Yes. Okay. Jeremiah. Is that your name? Mhm. Okay. Detective William Thoroughgood with Metro Police. Okay. Mhm. All right. Not trying to hurt you. Don't want to scare you. I'm really sorry for the confrontation I had in front of your child, okay? I feel really bad about that. And I just want to apologize to you. So, I am sorry for upsetting your kid, especially around the holiday season. So Yeah, cuz she's never going to forget that now. And she's going to look at cops as pieces of It's because of you. You're absolutely right. Taking that into consideration. Apologize to you. I try to teach my kid that not all cops are bad. There are good cops. And then you come out and do [ __ ] like that. good one. So, please just hear me out, okay? Jeremiah. All right. Can you hear me out? you. right. Let me just swallow my pride here and say I'll apologize for upsetting you and your family, okay? That that that that's good. You dropped the nugget. Yes. Yeah, that's good. But I'm I'm not going to take from you guys during the holidays. I'm just trying to be okay. So, I'm trying to be man enough to apologize, which is a hard thing for cops to do. Mhm. And I just hope that you accept my apology. I just didn't like the litter in my yard. That's all. That's that's all I wanted. She didn't mean to drop it, but to go to that extent because I pulled out my phone and asked you for your name and badge number. Really? Come on now. That that that that's being I get that. But that's being a tyrant. Jeremiah, listen to me. Can you look at Do you not agree with that? 100% you're right and I apologize. And I want you to understand how hard it is for me to Oh, I know how hard it is for cops. I know. I'm a first amendment auditor. I know. All right. Well, we need more people like you in this world. I'll extend my hand to you if I'm man enough to shake it. Oh, I'm man enough to shake your hand. All right. When other police officers arrived, they immediately recognized the auditor. Officer William was told off by his superiors and it was at that point that he realized he was screwed. He then resorted to giving a half-hearted apology to save himself. But if you think Officer William is the worst, you have another thing coming because this next cop is not only dumb, but he's also loud and drunk. Hello. How are you doing? Got you stopped for your speed. My bad, bro. I appreciate it. Cincinnati. Okay. Okay. Anything to drink tonight? Nope. Mind if I check your eyes out? Yes, sir. All right, bring your head out here just a little bit. Okay. Follow tip of my finger with your eyes only. Don't move your head. Man, how much you had to drink? Literally nothing. I took my friend home. All right, I'm going to get you out and make sure you're okay to drive. Okay. Now, your tags are expired as well. I I know that already. I work for Cincinnati. You work for Cincinnati and you got expired tags? I showed you my badge. I know, but I'm saying you work for Cincinnati and you drive around with expired tags. This is Cincinnati police officer Justin Shields who was pulled over by an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper. The Trooper immediately caught a whiff of alcohol from Justin and asked him to step out for a field sobriety test. I graduated college. All right. All right. I'm going to have you walk to the passenger side of my vehicle. You said walk to the passenger Yes, sir. Yes, sir. What do you want me to start? Just walk back there. Just walk on. Just walk? No, sir. Seen a doctor for anything? No, sir. Glasses or contacts? Nope. Diabetic or epileptic? Nope. All right. Follow the tip of this pen with your eyes only. Don't move your head at all. So, nothing to drink at all? No, sir. So, if you blow in a portable breath test, it would be triple zeros. all that. You can call your sergeant if you want to. I don't need to call my sergeant. I'm just I'm just I'm just I'm just I'm just saying. But like I had literally have had nothing to drink. Nothing to drink and it would be triple zeros, all right? Nothing. You mean you both know how it goes. I know how it goes. Yeah, me, too. And you haven't been drinking? I have not. You have. I can still smell it on you as you're talking to me. You cannot smell anything on me. I You gum cuz I've had gum. No, I can stronger than of beverage. You cannot. I can't. Okay. Why would I make it up? Why would I pull you out of the car? Despite knowing exactly how the process was supposed to go, Justin was being difficult and refused to cooperate. This was probably because he knew there was no way out for him. I I have no idea. I was speeding, yes. If you want to write me a speeding ticket and uh ticket for my life for my registration being expired, fine. That's fine. Okay. But you're not willing to blow in a portable breath test? No, sir. All right. I'm going to put you through some more tests. I refuse. You refuse? Go ahead and turn around. Go ahead and turn around and put your What what what test what Turn around. I will I will do the test. You want to do the test now? I will do the test. I really just want to meet Why Why you trying to re- You know how this goes. how it goes. That's That's That's why I'm asking you why you're doing this. Like I want to get you Because I smell alcohol. I'm doing I'm doing my job. Okay, I will do it. Do you want me to walk in the line with No, no. Don't walk away. I'm I'm coming to you right here. I I start started the line right here. You want to You want You want to walk on the the crack of this line right here. Whatever you want me to do. That that is obviously uneven pavement. No, I'm going to have you walk in front of my car. Okay. That's fine. Walk up here. How many steps? Walk up Just walk. Regular? Yes. Not one foot in front of the other? What do you want it when you get up here. I'm going to have you walk towards my car. Okay, so just walk regular. Yes, that's what I just said. You're not listening. No, I know how it goes. Stop right there. That's why I asked. Turn towards my car. Okay. All right. So, can you imagine a line going from here to my patrol car? Can I Yes, I will use this line right here. this line right here. black line that's like double you got it. Okay. Yeah, so you can do that. Okay. All right. So, I'm going to get you in a starting position. Stay in that position till I tell you to start test. Yes, sir. All right. Go ahead and put your left foot on the line with your right foot in front touching heel to toe. With your right foot in front touching heel to toe. Right foot in front, okay. Heel to toe. Arms out at your side. Stay in that position till I tell you to start. What you're going to do is take nine heel to toe steps down the line. This is I don't know if I can take nine steps, but I will try. They're going to be heel to toe steps. You'll be able to take nine heel to toe steps, all right? Unless you got Shaquille O'Neal's feet, you'll be fine. And they don't look like Shaquille O'Neal's feet. So, nine hill toe steps down that line. Once you get down that line, you're going to keep your lead foot on the ground. All right. Now, you can stop. That's 30 seconds. Yeah, I'll stop right there. Going to put your hands behind your back. Are you serious right now? Yes, sir. You're under arrest for driving a vehicle impaired. Put your palms together. It seems Justin couldn't believe he was getting arrested after failing all the sobriety tests. He must have thought his position as a police officer would protect him from bearing the consequences of his actions. Put your arms back. Do you need another set? What did you say? Do you need two sets on? No, I don't. You don't? I don't. Take your watch off. Put it in your pocket, please. This is a Rolex. All right. Put it in your pocket. I don't want it. Any possessions? Your Rolex. Palms together. Is that your girlfriend? Yeah. She been drinking, too? No. Just you? Yep. All right. Justin was arrested, and just before he was taken to the police station, he eventually slipped and let loose that he had, in fact, been drinking. Even though watching this officer embarrass himself is bad enough, what you're about to watch is even more satisfying. The um county clerk. Okay. So, that's What is your driver's license? I don't I don't have a driver's license. And what is your name? Ben. From the beginning, the security guards were out of their league. Ben Franklin. Ben Franklin? Correct. What is your date of birth? Ben. Why do you need my date of birth? What is your date of birth? Do you want to come in this building? Yeah, I have business to conduct, ma'am. I I just don't see why This is not Nazi Germany. I don't see why I would need to give date of birth? I need your address. My address and my date of birth? Yes. For what, ma'am? I don't understand. Do you have a supervisor I could speak with? Yes, she does. And the supervisor is also in a grumpy Put the phone away, please. You're not allowed to video or or tape. I'm sorry. Please put it away. Why Why can't I I'm asking you nicely because there's a sign posted outside that you can't do that in here. Why can't I record in here? We are here to see the county clerk. I'm here to see the county clerk. I have business conduct. I have to do a public records request. Me being hurt. I have This is Shawn Paul Reyes of Long Island Audit who went to a county government building in New York to challenge their policy. And he was going to humble every staff member who approached him one by one. That you can show us your name. No. No. No. can let you in. I don't have anything with my name. I don't have I want to Please just stay here. With an attitude. Can I get your name? Say it. Is that Brodsky? Brod. Brodsky? See, this is why it's more polite to tell somebody their name. Um So, I can't enter in a public building and conduct services without showing some sort of government ID. That's That sounds like Sounds like Nazi Germany to me, not the United States of America under whose authority. county building. It's a policy of the building. It's the policy of the building. The county this building needs ID in order to go in. Can you show me the policy? Where is the policy? I don't have it on me, but that is the policy. So you're enforcing a policy that you can't even show me. You're enforcing a policy you can't even show me. Where? This is a taxpayer funded ID. I'm trying to conduct business, but is that You don't need an ID to vote for the president of the United States. The staff members and security officers insisted that Reyes had to show his ID. They even went as far as threatening him with trespass, but they were all quickly silenced when a sergeant arrived and put them in their place. But yet you need an ID to enter in some county building. That doesn't even make any sense. Hey, how you doing? Hey, how you doing today, Sarge? Yeah, so I'm basically I want to speak with you because I'm being trespassed from this building. Okay. I'm trying to conduct business. I'm a journalist. I'm trying to conduct business here by doing a Freedom of Information Act request. Okay. Can I see your ID? I would be able to correct. That's what they're saying. And that's And what I'm saying is that's unconstitutional. And I understand we might have difference of opinion, but the reason why I'm here today is to challenge that unconstitutional uh policy. And that has that full authorization. parts of the building you're not allowed to go into? No, just you're not allowed to go into the into the building at all without a government issued ID. All right. All right, I'm going to go speak to them. All right, thanks, sergeant. Appreciate it. The sergeant ended the controversy neatly and professionally, and the police officers were immediately humbled. But this is not the first time an auditor would have to help higher police officers see the incompetence of their subordinates. Shawn O'Connell had to do the exact same thing for the Pueblo Police Department. Hey. I'm asking you a question. Who are you? Why are you taking pictures of the department? Sir. Don't touch me. Okay. I'm going to put you in cuffs, okay? You're going to be put in cuffs. Okay, your supervisor is on his way. Okay? I'm asking you questions here. I'm being arrested right now. Being put in cuffs for taking pictures of the police department. Don't turn my phone off. Okay. You are not in control here. I am, actually. You work for me. I don't work for you. 46, I got one in custody over here. Need a supervisor. to lose your job, buddy. This is illegal detainment. This is Shawn O'Connell, who was taking photos of the Pueblo Police Department when he was accosted by an officer who immediately put him in handcuffs after he refused to respond. Can you please call a supervisor out here? This is illegal detainment under 16-3-103. Okay. Hang out here. You don't have permission to search me. I don't consent to any search procedures. Okay, I'll wait for a supervisor to come up here. Okay, that's all right. What's your name and badge number? Romero. 0702. Okay, sounds good. Did you stop my video camera over there? Uh your computer I'm not messing with your phone, okay? Can you uh tell this officer to take his hands off me and to uncuff me? No, I don't want to tell him anything. Okay, you wait till a supervisor gets here and you can talk to him from there, okay? I'm done talking to you guys. I'm loading up. This guy's on the corner. I thought he was taking picture of the eagle on the department. It's like, "Okay, no big deal." So, I start, you know, putting my stuff in my my patrol vehicle. Sean knew that he hadn't done anything wrong, so he didn't bother trying to explain himself to the arrogant officers. He simply waited until the supervisor arrived. So, he he walks past it and I was like, "Oh, he's leaving. Give me an answer." Can't talk right now, I'm busy. So, he starts walking, so I I back up and then he's uh next to this corner and I'll take him pictures. What is he doing? So, then he comes over, he starts taking pictures. It looks like he's taking pictures of these signs. I don't know if he's taking pictures of these signs. Cars or what? called the First Amendment Strike Team. Is he? Yes, so he's trying to see what we're going to do. Okay. He has every right to do that. Okay, and that's fine with that. I I don't I don't have to Uncuff him. Uncuff him. He's already uncuffed. Huh? Uncuff him. Uncuff him. I did nothing wrong. I was not breaking the law. This officer just illegally detained me under CRS 16-3-103. I've seen your video, sir, and I know exactly what you're talking about. Uh who am I? Um First Amendment Strike Team. Okay. I know exactly who you are. Exactly. Um So, you know I'm not down here doing anything illegal. know nothing. I do. Um I'd like to file a complaint against this officer for the deprivation of rights. You can actually go into the department Okay. file a complaint if you'd like to. Um Should have uncuffed you before. When the supervisor arrived, he immediately demanded that his subordinates uncuff Sean after recognizing him as the owner of a successful auditing channel. He also let Sean know that he could file a complaint against the police officers. If you enjoyed this video, let me know in the comments section and don't forget to subscribe. Goodbye.
