I didn't do nothing wrong with her. Hey, get the dog. The other times were the hits with like a fist. Like he was fighting her. He did. Of all the crimes that exist, child abuse is among the worst. Society sees it this way because we look at children as being innocent. They're like lambs that need protection from the dangers around them. And that's why justice is so incredibly satisfying when abusive parents get their caught in the act. Stop. You're going to get charged with vandalism. You're going to get a felony. I want TO SEE MY BABY. THAT'S ALL I [screaming] WANT. On the night of August 3rd, 2024, the cops were called to a domestic disturbance in Dayton, Ohio. The incident involved an unmarried couple with kids. The woman wasn't at home, so they first spoke to her partner to get his side of the story. What's going on, brother? Okay. Whoa. What happened, man? She's on bars and she's extremely up. All right. [clears throat] She's driving intoxicated right now. You'll see it as soon as she looks in her eyes. She has my truck. Yes. She bought it, but it's in my name, so technically that's my truck, right? You guys are married? No. No. Have you guys lived together for a while? Yeah. You got kids together? Yeah. Okay. But even by law, it's actually both of your trucks. But it's in my name. In Ohio, that doesn't matter. if if you're uh in like a common law relationship, which is basically you guys have lived together for a while, you have kids together, you know, all that sort of Well, I have two kids in the house and she's being like that in front of two kids. I definitely get it, man. She's on her third domestic violence charge. I would like her to go to jail tonight for domestic violence. Okay. Yeah, we'll try and find her. Uh and before you get here, she's going to say that I kicked this bookshelf over, which I didn't. And I have my 13year-old daughter, my 12-year-old daughter in here that can come down here and tell you the exact same thing. But I'm not bull my lip. Yes, I see. Okay. You got a red mark in there. And she's going to tell you that uh I put my hands on her. My daughter will definitely tell you no, I did not. So, tell me what happened tonight. Tell me like a like a story like uh I've been trying to get her to stop eating Xanaxes for 3 days. She said she was going down to her grandma's to do something, which she went and got more Xanaxes. The woman involved, Destiny, still wasn't home at the time. So, the cops decided to come back the following morning. In the meantime, they confirmed that twice before she'd been arrested for domestic violence. Where's she at though? Right now. Hold on. Hold on. Where's she at? Where is she at? In the basement. Lead us to her. You don't have any weapons inside, do you? I mean, yes, but none on us. Okay. Do you have any dogs? Uh, outback. They're out back. They're not in talk. No, but apparently I'm the one doing the job cuz I'm the aggressor. We'll deal with that in a second, buddy. I know. [laughter] Hey, Destiny. Yes. What's going on? Okay. So, he will not leave me alone. Okay. I'm sorry. I Who's he to you? Um, he is my fiance. So, this is Well, I don't want to be carried to my So, this is what um he went to. Um it's kind of easier to Okay, we can we can do that with the medic. Yeah. Yeah, we have a medic waiting for you. Keep your shirt on right now. Okay. You can see right here the bruise. Oh my god, it hurts. It's just on your bruise. Like my legs right here. Okay. Okay. Go ahead and put your cigarette out. Okay. You might think that a tornado or a herd of wild animals had ripped through this filthy house. As for Destiny, her partner's accusation about the Xanax abuse seemed more plausible by the second. Xanax is a prescription tranquilizer, and it's very powerful and no joke. Speaking figuratively, it can pretty much melt your brain. And literally, in the long run, it can severely impact your well-being. [crying] I know, baby. I know, baby. Hey, sir. Yes, sir. Will you come here for a minute? Will you take your child, please? Hey, Jesse, can you talk to this officer for me? This is the other per this is the other. Give it to him. Okay. The cops are here and I need you to explain exactly what's going on. Can my baby please not stay with [music] him? He's very violent. Well, he's he's dad, right? He's the biological dad. Yes, but I have five other people ready to come get her. Okay. Okay. Well, we're going to figure that out in a minute. Okay. Yes. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Okay. Is that her stuff? Yeah. Keep walking. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. We just had physical therapy fast like for eight days in a row and like we got some big settlement and like a company hit us. Oh, I can't. Can you help me? I'm sorry. Yep. Keep going. Oh my god. No. I got Okay, go. There you go. Come over this way, man. Can I see her? One second. Nope. We're going to keep moving. Come on. Cuz we have a seat for you and we want to get you checked out. Okay. Yeah. Thanks a lot for you being my Have one. Will you do me a huge favor? Just move to the outside of the bed for me. Just leave it. Move to that side of the bed. I'm sorry. I got it. I'm just gonna The crazy thing is that there were two young kids in the house, but there were guns left out in the open, adding abuse and violence to the mix. This thing was a disaster waiting to happen. Blood first or just Yep. Blood first. Yep. Bring your leg up. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. I can't. I can't. Okay, hold on. Hold on. Oh my god. My nail. My nail. My nail. Oh. Oh no. Oh my nail. Okay. Okay. There you go. You're fine. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Explain to this officer what's what's going on. You requested one, correct? Yeah. So, pretty much I was trying to get away from the situation and my fiance took my daughter out of the stroller, took her back in the house. I was gone all night taking care of my grandma because she has asthma and she was having a very bad episode. And he literally all he said was, "If you don't come home, I'm calling the cops. I got videos of you doing this and you doing that." No, he doesn't. There's only one camera and I unhooked it and I took the wire with me. But he said, "If you don't come home and talk to me right now, then I'm calling the cops and you're going to jail blah blah blah." He literally said, "If you don't come home right now, blah blah blah, then I won't call the cops and then we can just sit down and talk." He's acting like a big child. Okay. But he literally did this to my legs. Like my What's up with your neck? What did What to do? Do you want me to stand up and show you? Well, you can just show us right here. Just point out this shoulder right here. It's very bruised. Um, all around my neck. Like my back is very scratched up. Like, and he did all of this. EMS personnel examined Destiny carefully but did not find injuries. I'm wondering if she was really in pain or if she was just faking it. Most likely the cocktail of she was on had affected more than just her parenting. The pain she was experiencing was probably psychosmatic. What do you need these gentlemen here to check on? You called them here. You want like my back, like my legs, like they just hurt so bad. Like I can barely walk. Like my my toe right there, my pinky, like everything hurts so bad. Like I'm in physical therapy. We're supposed to go today. We're supposed to go eight days in a row for like a company truck hit us and we're supposed to get like a big settlement. And um they do the water bed thing and the massage thing and everything else. And um it's getting like a little bit better, but like it hurts so bad. like my back and like her eyes at me and dude all Hey hey let me Destiny have you taken anything today? No. You haven't taken nothing? No. No pills. Xanax, you haven't been drinking. He keeps saying that but no he is taking he is drinking. He ain't taking pain pills. What do you want? [cough] [cough] Although Destiny had no physical injuries, she was not a healthy woman. It's possible she was addicted to painkillers. If so, it was clearly interfering with her ability to be a competent mother to her children. Next, the cops interviewed her 12-year-old, an innocent girl living in a nightmare. What happened last night before she left? Oh, she put your she put her hands on you and there was like a big like red mark on your back and I was in front of you. I was like right there and there was like a bunch of yelling and stuff. Did she also throw the fan at me? Yeah. Did I put my hands on her whatsoever? Nope. And there is a shelf that she kicked outside that she broke. Then you stalk me. Okay. We're We're leaving the day, baby. You don't have to deal with this no more. Thank God. Mom's probably going to go to jail. Okay. It was an incredibly telling moment. In the majority of cases, these abused children, out of fear, stick up for their abusive parents. But that wasn't the case here. When the girl found out that her mother was going to jail, you could hear how relieved she was. And that gives us a bit of a clue as to what kind of mother Destiny was to her. Are you taking him to jail, too? No, he's not going to jail, too. YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL. WHY? Stay in there. STAY IN THERE. NO, DON'T PUT YOUR LEG IN THE TISSUE. PUT YOUR LEG IN THERE. YOU'RE HURTING ME. NO, I'M NOT. You're going to get charged the vandalism. You're going to get a felony. I want TO SEE MY BABY. [screaming] THAT'S ALL I WANT. I WANT TO GIVE HER a kiss crying. [screaming] Maybe as no you won't because I mean I want to say one thing to him and I want to see my baby before I go. [clears throat] I will never be with you again. You Yeah, you must they must not have been tight. Hold on a minute. Hey, I'm not putting a mask on until I see my baby. So, here's the deal. This is going TO NO, I WANT MY BABY. OW. NO, I WANT MY BABY. TURN AROUND and face me. No. Are you really going to go this route? I want you to give my baby a kiss and then I will cooperate. If she's as terrible as she appeared to be, it's possible that she was just pretending to want to kiss the baby so later on she could claim she was a loving mother. This woman needs to go to rehab for her addiction and her behavior's been revoling. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be typical, but I'm having a panic attack really, really bad. I'm having a panic attack really, really bad. I can't breathe. [cough] [gasps and panting] I was just having inhaler inhaler at my safe. My bruise on my left shoulder. It's hurting me so bad. Help ow. Oh my god. Oh my god. Help. Sorry. She had two outstanding warrants for domestic violence already and she was once again charged with domestic violence. There's an ongoing case with child protective services. The status of the abused children is not known. On the 12th of March 2024, the sheriff's office in Marian County received a 911 call. A 16-year-old boy had run into a gas station, desperately asking for help after a brutal beating from his father. A concerned bystander stepped in to assist him. What's going on? Um, his father. Okay. All right. His father was just at the light, but he went by. He um left him at home and and he ran up here from home. 66. He's 16. here for help you that how is that happening here? He just he thought I was lying to him about his bros having a bad day or something and he started taking out of me. What do your dad's name? What what kind of truck it is, brother? You okay? It's all right. It's going to be okay. I'm going have my come check you out. Come here, bro. My car. Come here. I just want to go. Yeah. You like take me to like a million houses on Get the That's That's his truck. That's his car right there. Which one? This one. This one. Is that him? That's him right there. The boy was terrified and shaken, and his face was badly beaten. No matter what he'd done or hadn't done, nothing justifies a parent inflicting that level of brutality on their own child. Come on, step out. Put your hands on the car. Put your hands in the car. You beat up your kid. Like, hey, the kid is bleeding. Disrespect me. Lies. What did he do? I raised six of them. He lies to me, man. Okay. The father, Donnie, basically admitted guilt by asking the cop what he would do if his own kid lied to him. Contrary to what he insinuated there are plenty of effective options that don't include violence. Furthermore, why Donnie thought he was a hero for fathering six children is anyone's guess. He punched me, smacked me in the side of my head, everything, bro. It was over some stupid, bro. Like, I went to this girl's house, man. And the address was somewhat wrong. It was a street over, bro. And he got mad as hell at me for it. And he was talking about some I'm lying to him and I'm treating him like and this and that. And I'm sitting in the back seat. I'm like, "Bro, I ain't lie to you about." He's like, "You telling me she lied?" I'm like, "No." And it wasn't even a lie. And that bro just back and back slapped me across theing face right here and then pulled over, got out, grabbed me up by my neck and start hit me in the side of the head and then he told me when we got back inside the car, he was just talking more there. And then he told me that we was going to go back to the house. He told me as soon as we get in the driveway, I better get out the car or he's going to beat me out. He gonna beat my ass. He said he's gonna drag me out the car and beat my And then get out. I go inside. I ain't I ain't even lay a finger on this dude, bro. I ain't do to him, man. And then I get inside and I get on the game with my cousin and I'm telling him what the happened and my dad walked in. I ain't hearing so I had my headset on and I was telling what happened and my dad sat down next to me on the bed mad as though talking about some so he gonna go off telling [music] now and this and that and I said I ain't say I'm telling the truth bro I ain't do to you over here beating my ass for nothing bro it's heartbreaking to see the young man sitting in the back of an ambulance being so bruised battered and broken his physical injuries were shocking but the damage went well beyond that trauma like this can deeply affect a person's emotional development and few people are strong enough to just move on from it. I've been going through battle with two kids. Is he when is he born? He's my son. I got four years. What is he like the oldest or is he okay? His mama passed four months ago. I've been going since I was 6 months old. I got I just been 30 months over some I got a stepdaughter that's 23. She got m I've dealt with them windows and doors. money's going on in the house and I fixed all these problems and I'm telling him you're the one that's causing all these problems to start again. Just tell me the truth and if it's something I don't like, I'm okay with that. But just tell me the truth. I don't truthful. So then what happened? Why are we here today at this point? Yeah. Okay. So, what I'm getting at is did you ever hit him or something? Did you hit him? You didn't lay hands on him at all. Okay. So, how does he have a gash? Because the person that you were sitting here to lying to on the phone. It's hard to hear the boy over his low voice, but Donnie told the officers that he knocked a cup off a countertop and somehow the cup ricocheted and hit his son in the face. But the cops here weren't buying it, so they kept pressing Donnie to find out more. bar I didn't do that I do do that I respect for that I've given respect for it's crazy in prison for 30 months for saying I did something last but this is more than what you mean more than got a whole gash out of his top lip that ain't my fault you hit the cup didn't which hit him. Which is a battery. You told me that I hit the cup. It's a battery, right? Yes. I hit when I saved you. You hit the cup, which ended up hitting him, which is a battery. He was threw the cup. I threw the cup. I threw. Come on, man. Now you're playing games. You're playing games. Listen. I'm going look at your white eyes because he's on some [ __ ] What is that? I'm just telling you on some bull because my kid won't even come here and speak to me because he knows he was in the wrong for what he did. I shouldn't be sitting here right now. I raised that baby for the last 15 and a half years on my own. Bro, what have you done for a kid? Let alone five more. Nothing. Right. Donnie was charged with resisting an officer, domestic battery by strangulation, cruelty towards a child, and driving on a revoked license. He's a brutal man. What do you think? Does he have the tools to transform himself and be a better father, or is Donnie too set in his ways? As for his child, we can only hope this trauma doesn't turn him into his father. On the morning of February 4th, 2023, a man attempted to run his wife over in the driveway of their Florida home. Sadly, it was right in front of their children. His wife eventually called the cops for help, but not before the man had ripped out the security footage and fled the scene of the crime. Is the husband inside? My app, it's in my name. And he deleted the video of him running me over in the driveway this morning. is you can see the tire marks and you can see he hit my car after he hit me right in front of my son. And um so I was on the phone with ADT to get him logged out of my account and recovered the video and he stole my computer, my laptop that I do my schoolwork. He was going to take him to breakfast and um he had him get in the van and then he went in the van and he was getting N E D L E S with his S P O O N with M E T H in it out of the van. And so I went over to the van and told not safe in the van right now. You need to get out. She was remarkably calm after enduring such a horrific ordeal. It's amazing she was able to keep her sanity. It was an extremely stressful situation because not only had her life been threatened, but she also had young children to worry about. Are you okay with me just asking him a couple of questions? What did you see, buddy? Um, well, he told me something and he said before he run her over, he kind of hit her, but before she How did he kind of hit her? He the front of it. Only the front of it hit her. Okay. front of what? The front of the car. Okay. The van. Okay. So, you saw him him use the van to hit your mom. Yeah, but he changed his mind the first second. Okay. But the van actually bumped into mom. Did she fall on the ground or She fell on the ground? She did. Okay. In the grass. Like that. Was that the only time that you saw your mom getting hit by him? Well, she Well, he he he never runs him her over a little bit. Just bumped into her. Yeah. The other times were the hits with like a fist like he was fighting her like once he got in jail for breaking her phone and leaving. It's a tragic situation when law enforcement has to rely on the eyewitness testimony of a six-year-old boy. This young man witnessed his methaddicted father nearly run his mother over in a drugfueled rampage. The abuser's name was Scott, and the picture his wife painted of him was truly frightening. When he took that stuff out, I told my son that it wasn't safe for him to be in the van with daddy right now and that he needed to get out. So he got out and I was recording and throwing stuff away um because he was trying to call me up and he attacked me and pulled him to the ground by the trash barrels. I was screaming from he got upset with him and said, "Why are you hitting my mom?" He yelled at the back of the van, got in his van and started to back out of the driveway. You can see the tire marked out, slammed on the brakes, he threw it on drive, and he mashed the gas and he put me and my car and hurled me about 5 ft into the dirt. Okay. Okay. Are you Are you hurt? I mean, I'm pretty sore, but I'm just I'm just looking at you for a You're obviously got some bumps. And Do you need an ambulance? No. When did this happen? What time of the day? Probably um 10:00 a.m. Uh Okay. Okay. So, it's been a few hours, so you would know by now if you were serious or hurt. And so, he um he's got a long rap sheet with domestic violence. And so, I chose not to call the police because a he's probably going to go up creek for quite some time and that doesn't resolve anything because his real problem is The woman admitted that Scott had a lengthy history of domestic violence, but in the very next breath said that his real problem was abuse. Obviously, those two issues were directly connected. Despite being terrorized by Scott, it almost sounded like she was making excuses for him. What stopped you from calling us sooner? Because he's got a rap sheet from domestic battery and I didn't want, you know, I don't feel like him going to prison is the answer when the problem is the substance after he tried to run you over. He's got problems. He's not the same person. Not to mention the fact that I'm a stay-at-home mom. How much, you know, I put the deposit down in the house, but our mortgage is $1,800 each. No, I I completely understand what what was the tipping factor that made you think I I do need to call at this point. The fact that he came home and did this. Let me show you. Oh, he came back after this incident. Yes. He just left. Literally, he came home and he he did this and he did this and he ripped this the control panel off the wall and he grabbed my laptop and he took off. I'm a I'm a pre-lo student. I'm going to school for government without the system. Did he Did he do that to prevent you from being able to hit the video back that he deleted? Okay. What Scott probably didn't know when he was ripping the security camera equipment off the wall is that tampering with evidence pertaining to a crime is a thirdderee felony in the state of Florida. Apart from conducting their investigation, these very concerned officers also tried to give the victim some friendly advice and a serious reality check. He is not going to get any better. He He's not. He He This is going to be a revolving door of this stuff continuously happening. And today he could have you or your child. Today you guys dodged a huge bullet. Literally a van. Okay. This could have gone so much worse. I know. had he not and he's under the he's under the influence right now of there's no telling where his mind is at. It's by the grace of God he stopped because this could have been a totally different case. You broke my neck. He could have done so many things. I have a mom. Exactly. And it's not fair to you and it's not fair to those children to be subjected to this. Okay. I shouldn't have to come over here and get a statement from a six-year-old about what their dad did to their mom. It is not up to you and it's not up to me on what happens with him. It is up to a judge, okay? And they will make the determination on what they feel is fit. If he needs to get help with his methamphetamine issues, then they'll help him with that. Given the charges that I'm about to put on him that you have no control over, this is serious. I mean, he's a looking at a secondderee felony. I mean, that's just shy of somebody. In many states, to successfully pursue legal charges for domestic violence, law enforcement requires the consent and cooperation of victims. Luckily, in the state of Florida, that's not the case. The cops had enough evidence now to bring the legal hammer down on Scott. I mean, it's pretty close. He says, "Oh, it's a crime of passion. I'll be in and out." That's what he said. No, he won't. You know what he said to me before? He He said to me before, "Oh, I can you and do it. I I go to jail for seven or 10 years cuz it'll be a crime of passion for life." No. I'm like, are you kidding me? I told my mom. That's why the state of Florida here. This is what happened. That's why the state of Florida doesn't let you dictate on whether or not we press charges. We just do it. I know. You cannot allow this to continue. I am telling you this as a person. You cannot allow this to continue. I whether what whatever happens after I get in my car and I leave here is whatever happens. Okay? I can only give you advice at this point. You cannot continue being a victim like this. The very same day, Scott was arrested at a traffic stop. He was charged with aggravated battery, causing great bodily harm, child abuse without bodily harm, and tampering with evidence. Law enforcement put his wife in touch with a victim's advocate who could offer resources and advice. On the 24th of April 2024, a jogger who was out on a run called 911 after seeing a woman hanging out of a moving truck. Officers rushed to the scene trying to figure out what in the world had just gone down. All right. So, what's going on? So, I was running. I'm just was out running. Truck came flying past me with someone hanging out the back of it. Okay. And then he stopped and yanked her out, threw her down. She was on the side of the road. She thought there, but she's here. She's only 19. Is she hurt? No, but there's a baby in the truck that she said slammed up against the glass. Not only 9 lb baby. Okay, let's go check on the baby in the is in the truck. Oh, the baby's in the truck. Yes, he took off and he also tried to run her down. It's a Ford F150. Where's the I think she's right there. The jogger's eyewitness account was helpful, but it only offered a limited glimpse into what had happened. The law enforcement team had to piece together the puzzle by locating the vehicle and gathering all the relevant details. Okay, where's the baby? Where did he go? What kind of trouble is it? You probably know him. You look familiar. You look like you've been to my house. Do you need an ambulance? I just don't want to live right now. Okay. Okay. We're here to help. Very hurt emotionally, physically, mentally. Where is my baby? Is what I'd like to know as well. I've never been away from her for this long. What's your name? My name? Mhm. Dianis. Dianis. Do you need to see it anyways? Where where you hit you? Were you punched or anything? Yes, we were both fighting. We had to fight because he was taking my stuff from me. That's why I don't have a phone. I don't have nothing. He took your phone away from you? Were you trying to call 911? I did call you guys. Okay. So, who these two you see right here? Who present in this movie? Okay. All right. Who took the baby? And how dare him take the baby when she's not safe? Yes. Right. Yes. He's not safe with him. The baby's father. Who's What's his name? Casey. Casey. What? What kind of truck was it? The baby hit hit the glass of the the side of the back of the sea. I strapped her in her chair. That's when I started to open the side of the door because I just wanted to jump out. So far, it looks like the couple, Dianis and Casey, were having a major fight while driving. Usually, when couples have a dispute, it's a private matter, but this fight was very much a public concern as a newborn baby was involved. Driving while brawling like that endangers everyone on the road. Do you have any injuries on you? Like this? That looks like a bite mark. What is that? Okay. How about this on your own? That was Do you want to sit down? I just want to Do you know what? I don't care. Dian, I scared to care for myself. Because when I I get treated like that, why should I even care? Well, that's why we're here trying to help you. At first, Diana's projected herself as the victim of hideous violence. But some parts of the story just didn't add up. For instance, why would she want to jump out of the car after her baby was injured? And why wasn't the child fastened securely in a car seat? The cops then caught up with Casey, who had driven off in their Ford F-150. Well, sassy mouth got because I didn't I didn't like the way she was driving, so I told her to get out of the car and I was going to drive and she didn't want to give me the duffing bag. I took duck bag and I went home cuz I wanted to take care of my daughter. Where is she right now? She's inside the house right now. Not Not Diana's. My daughter is mind if I go take a look at her? Yeah, it's fine. I tried I tried before I tell her not to do what she did and she started yelling at somebody out the road because someone was yelling like we almost got into an accident and then the kid's mom came up cuz he busted his teeth on the front dashboard of the car. Where that kid? That back home. He's back home. He's safe. But then we got up to here and I was like, "Let me drive." She got all mad. She's like, "What? Let me drive." Blah blah blah. And she started snapping. I was like I was like, "Give me the duff bag so so I can so I can take care of my daughter." I was like, "Give me a dump bag cuz DE bag cares auto medication for severance and all that stuff." They stop yelling at me. I'm not trying to deal with all this stuff. I'm not trying to go home and deal with all this stuff. Your baby wasn't in the car at the time. My baby was in the car when I cooled over. Diana and Casey lacked the emotional maturity to be responsible parents or even responsible drivers. Also, they were both being dishonest with their reckless fighting. What they were up to was chaos on wheels. And to make matters worse, there was another passenger with a child in the car. Dianis and Casey's child were checked out by EMS and were declared to be unharmed. Place your hands in your back. You're arresting me? No, not for DUI, right? So, you made alarming statements, right? So, you want Yeah, because I do because why is he under my baby? Okay, I completely understand. The dilemma is unsafe drink and him letting me unsafe drive in his car. So, here's the thing. You had some drinks. You and Casey went out, right? But you did not buckle in Valencia, right? Neither of us did. Right. Right. So, we're going to get charged with child engagement. Okay. That's what we're going to do. Really? Why can't he get in charge of that? But he was the one in the back. He's getting in charge, too. Okay. Sure. Okay. Well, I'm only 19 years old. This is my first time here. Okay. Well, I'm just making sure that he's getting in trouble with this team because Yeah. Trust me. Okay. And his only Okay. That's your name, right? Yeah. That's how you pronounce it in English. Diana's demeanor changed in an instant. At first, she seemed deeply concerned about her injured child. But the moment she found out she was being arrested, the look on her face turned stone cold. Suddenly, the only concern she had was whether her boyfriend would face the same punishment. As it turns out, he definitely would. Let's do it. Turn around. Put No, no, no, sir. No, sir. I'll take the test. I'll take I'll take the test. Put your hand behind your back. I'll take the test, sir. Put your hand [snorts] behind. I'll take the test, sir. What are you arresting him for? What are you arresting for this? You don't have any reason. What did I do wrong? I didn't do nothing wrong. Hey, get the dog. Get the dog. Get the dog. What did I do wrong? Hey, sir. Back up. See, he tricked him. Why would you guys I didn't do nothing wrong. I just said, "Why you arresting me?" Get this on video. I asked you. Why are you arresting me? I got work tomorrow. I got work tomorrow. He's under arrest for domestic violence. Domestic batteries. Hey, stand up. I ain't got time for this. I got work in the morning against you, sir. Y'all boys act like y'all. Just let me go to work tomorrow. I need money for my baby. What do you think? That dude is going to make money for my baby. Casey was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. While his mother tried to convince the cops that he was a good kid, he wasn't a kid anymore, but the father of a newborn baby. Obviously, he lacked the decision-making skills and emotional maturity necessary to be a good father. Meanwhile, they charged Dianis with child endangerment. On the 24th of August, 2024, the cops got a 911 call from a concerned uncle after his brother-in-law allegedly exposed himself to his 15-year-old niece. The name of this pervert was Jimmy, and when he realized law enforcement was coming, he fled the scene. All right. So, my sister and Jimmy have been drinking and supposedly I'll let you tell them. I got a little nervous to let y'all know. Oh, but anyways, um my mom had said that was arguing. I don't know what it was about, but my mom had came to my room to avoid it cuz he does like to egg it on. So, my mom had came to my room to just take a break from it, this and that. And uh he had came See, I didn't know this. He had came down the hallway and I had my door locked so he couldn't come in because he would have kept starting stuff. He kept hearing my door knocked. It was making me mad. My mom was like, "Don't open the door. Don't open the door." And I was like, "No, it's honestly pissing me off. So, I'm going to open the door." He I opened that door. He was butt naked, just standing there staring at me. Didn't say a word. And he looked at me for like 20 seconds and then walked away. Didn't say nothing. I found it weird. I don't really know what else to say cuz that's really all I had to say. You got a text from him. I don't know who. He can try to blame the alcohol once, but come to find out he's literally He literally admitted that you did it. And he literally admitted and said that he doesn't really care that I'm only good to actually Jimmy was just the girl's stepfather, but that hardly made it any less disgusting. What could cause someone to behave in such a way towards a minor? Human decency is not that hard to achieve. This was all around embarrassing for everyone involved. It's something kids shouldn't have to deal with at any age. Okay. Was there anybody else that saw this or Okay. Well, his is here. Um, he was laying on the couch and I guess he had saw his dad walk by like in the hallway naked and I guess Jimmy, which is that he Jimmy had turned towards his kid and just looked at him and Roger just said, "Hi, dad." And waved. So he knew like his eye was naked going to my room. Okay. Oh my god. So he's in there. No, his brother took him. Yeah, can come out here. Roger's not used to it. You're okay now. So, you did say your final couch did your dad, right? So, okay. But it is sad. So, had your dad been drinking tonight? Is he drunk or do you know? No. No. Yeah. Okay. Did he seem intoxicated to you? Um, not really. But he did buy himself a 12-pack and he didn't drink all of it. So, I really don't know if he was like buzzed or like sober when he had done it. But his eyes did kind of look a little heavy. So, it's it's really hard to say. While being drunk might help explain this type of behavior, it would definitely not excuse it. Plenty of people get drunk without behaving in a lude and ridiculous fashion. It was not only one child, but two kids who were forced to witness Jimmy in his birthday suit. So, the only thing that happened was is you just saw him naked. He didn't he didn't touch you or didn't assault you or anything. I just found it weird cuz he just stood there apologized and did nothing and I knocked on his door and I was like, "What are you doing?" He's like, "You literally stood in front of a 15year-old door just butt naked." And he's like, "You need to get the f out this and that." And I was like, "No, I'm not getting out." I was like, "You effed up on your part." I was like, I didn't do anything wrong. Nobody did nothing wrong but you before they been placed in the left because he's came on the her son's girlfriend and things like that. There's a pattern here and she's not one since she's not one to see it, which I I get. I mean, yeah. The uncle hinted that his sister's boyfriend Jimmy was an ongoing menace. While he didn't want to blame his sister, he knew it was time to talk some sense into her. Parents of course need to be extra cautious about who they let into their lives as their choices can have a very profound impact on their children's lives. Well, it's frustrating every time you feel like they always do. I'm sorry. Well, I mean, we we can't keep him from being here since he lives here, but I I don't know what kind of plan you want to have in place to keep them separated. I if he tries to come back and call me if he wants to get close to leave for a while, they can let him in to get closer. God, I've been through this so many times. Don't open up, Kendra. I'm not going to take your kids because you've done what you're supposed to do. I have nowhere to go. Don't worry, guys. You're fine here. You just aren't coming back. It's not my home. It's not my home. You're missing the point. I'm missing the point. Get a restrain with a split on. He can't come back here until a judge says he can't. that buys time. That's all you need to worry about. Then I get to do that tomorrow. You can't let him back here. I can't let him back here, but if he needs his personal belongings, call the police and they can escort him in. Well, Sean's going to get a hold of me. Fine. It's fine. But it [snorts] definitely wasn't fine. It was a mess that had to be solved as soon as possible. While the mother felt like her options were limited, she needed to find a way out. This situation that she'd gotten her innocent 15-year-old daughter into was completely unacceptable. Meanwhile, the cops determined that they had enough evidence to arrest Jimmy. Jimmy here. He's in there sleeping. You want need to? I do, Cooper. Yeah. All right. Go ahead and turn around for me. You're under arrest for indecent exposure. Jimmy, is that misman or a felony? No, that's a felony. Really? Yeah. My wallet. Yeah. Did you talk to the kids? Smell alcohol, nothing like that. I don't know the kids. Nope. They didn't understand him on the way over here. He's freaking drunk. I went and picked him up. Like I don't know if they would. He He's more than five or six beers drunk. You know what I'm saying? There's some whiskey or liquor or something, but they're trying to tell me it was just five or six beers. That's they're like more than five or six. I've never seen him this drunk. Being super drunk wouldn't change the fact that it was now time for Jimmy to suffer the consequences for his indecent behavior. There was nowhere for Jimmy to run or hide. It was time to sober up and face the reality. Back at the station, he gave his side of the story. So, we were me and my wife were drinking and me and my wife have been this we've been getting into it about her daughter. She's 15. She's been drinking. Well, the daughter has Yes. All we I was doing was I went to bed, right? And I I'm going to bed. Well, my wife decided I I took a shower and we were we That was the I took a shower. I went to bed. Well, is it possible that you didn't do it on purpose, but that you were just so drunk that you know I'm not that drunk. Your brother said he hadn't seen you that drunk before. My brother said that. I That's like So, what gives you guys enough proof? Like where's your proof that I it was right enough to that jail? her daughter. We got called over there and her daughter told us that you went to the doorway of her bedroom and stood there in the doorway completely naked for a little bit. You didn't say she didn't say you said anything or anything like that, but you stood there naked and then turned around and walked off. And then I talked to your son and he said that you talked to my son. Mhm. My eight-year-old son. This is crazy. So, you just got her the lion, one of the li most lying 15year-old people in the world. Jimmy tried blaming everything on his stepdaughter. He claimed he was fighting with his wife and drinking heavily. All because the young girl was causing too many problems. Jimmy acted innocent, but it was now up to a judge to decide if he was indeed guilty of felony indecent exposure. On the evening of May 31st, 2023 in Flaggler County, concerned citizens at a nearby restaurant called the police. Just prior, they witnessed a woman, Amanda Hopkins, beating her seven-year-old daughter. The scene was so disturbing that some of the onlookers felt physically sick. [music] I just I just want to watch it, man. No, I was the patriot. Where do you want to go? What seat do you want to sit in? Because you have whatever option you want. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am, can I help you? What is I'm telling my mom the truth. You're telling her the truth? I'm telling the mom. What's going on, sweetie? So, um, we just got there [crying] and she just me up [laughter] and and she keep on me every single time and she keep on being crazy. [laughter] I'm trying. I know. She put my head into water. What is that in your hand? Start it. There's nothing else that will start. So you guys are just doing okay. She's having a meltdown to seven. Okay. And everybody else are concerned folks making sure that we're watching for 20. So she been trying to go on the street with a bike and a busy street. We we're concerned with the child safety. It's heartbreaking to see the child in tears from her mother's abuse. But if there's one silver lining, it's that so many good people were nearby and they were ready to step in and put a stop to it. It's never easy to get involved in someone else's business. But in this case, it was clearly the right thing to do. All right, so I have another officer that's coming. Okay, so we can start separating people and getting everybody inside the things. That's insanity. Then step in my way. It's not illegal. Because whenever you do that when you I raised two kids. My name? Yes. Amanda. Amanda, can you come talk to me over here? Yes, sir. Hang on. Just get ready to get bic. There's a bic. Okay. I I believe it is a bicycle. Okay. Come here. Come here. Come here. We're going to cough over here. Okay. Amanda, we're going to talk over here. Okay. Come here. Let me talk. Can I have a handshake? What happened with What happened with mom? Um, now she just started going crazy now. She just started going crazy. Has that happened before? Yeah. Why did she go crazy? because um she's always going crazy because she don't like sexy cuz um her mom just been mean and made ugly face to my mom. Who made ugly faces to your mom? My mom's mom. Your mom's abuse like this is often passed down through generations. The mother Amanda obviously had a lot of emotional baggage. But instead of shielding her daughter from the abuse she suffered as a child, she was giving her daughter a taste of all the toxicity she experienced. Where is grandma now? Huh? Where is your Where's your grandma now? In Texas. In Texas. When did you guys come here? Um, we was in We was um um sleeping in um Florida and we got in Florida. In Florida. Have you been sleeping in your car? No. Yeah, we packed up already. But she always yell at me every single time because um I just want to get new toys and and my mom don't let me every single time. And I have a dad, but he's in Virginia and they fight every they fight and um I just I saw but I I was born and um um I was born and I'm always and mom and that my mom and dad fight. They just fight. So now you live just with mom. Okay. like better than Virginia already because um um he moved. Did Did mom do anything other than yell at you? Did she hit you or anything? She always hit me, but um we fight every time and I just do mom accidentally. That's my favorite. Um so I just don't want mom to go to jail though. No seven-year-old child should live in fear. This girl, however, was not only scared of the abuse, both emotional and physical, but she also had to worry about her mother being sent to jail. She was smart enough to realize that this meant losing the one person left in her life who's meant to protect her from all the dangers in the world. Why would your mom go to jail? Um, she went to jail like three times or so. Three times? Why? Um, so mom and dad probably like my dad punched mom and my mom punched dad. My dad's name is Zach. So sometime sometimes mom hits hits dad and sometimes dad hits mom. Does mom ever hit you? Um every single time we always fight every single time. You and mom fight. Where does she hit you? Everywhere. Everywhere. When did she hit you last time? Um so she hit me on to All right. Because because does mom hit you with her hand? Does she hit you with anything else? She usually hits you on your butt. Yeah. And it hurts. It hurts. Does she hit you anywhere else? Yeah, she hits me in the mouth, the hands, everywhere. It just hurts. Sometimes I don't listen to mom and she sticks her middle finger at me. She sticks her That's not very nice. I'm going to talk to my sergeant. Okay, let's do this one quick second. In just a few short years, this young child had experienced enough emotional trauma to last a lifetime. She needed major help because she was caught in a cycle of violence. And by the looks of it, the help she needed was going to have to come from someone outside the family. Did you see? I saw a tail end of it. They saw everything. Yeah. It's hard for me to talk. What happens to her? in the immediate time. We have victim advocates who are really lovely people that work with us. And so the victim advocate who's gonna come to right now is wonderful that is she going to be in Flagler County like in a system like it's up to it's up to the legal system. I'm a teacher, so I'm We know we've been in it. But I'll I'll take her phone. When you left, she said, "Where did it go?" Yeah. She got nervous. She said, "Where did it go?" My phone still [laughter] is coming. Can I have my phone? She's down there. Already here. Hey, Tag. Hi. Are you okay? Amanda, can you come over to my car? I am. What are you doing? I'm giving you my hands. Your hands are fine. Do you have anything on you to poke me or stick me? Uh, there's a razor blade. And uh there's a razor blade. Yes, sir. Mom, they're talking to her right now. So, the mom has been at one of our bars since about 7:00 in she's intoxicated. She was at a bar. A bar, of course, is no place for a little girl, especially at that time of night. The more we learned about the mother, the more reprehensible her actions seemed. No one's saying that parenting's easy, but not abusing your child should be the easiest thing in the world. U pulled the little girls here while she was on a bicycle, scratched her back, and then she kicked her more than once um in her leg and then hit her in her back. It's okay. I'm just looking at mom. Oh, mom's just sitting there chilling. Not keeping mom for a week? Probably not. Probably not very long because Is she going to be okay? She's going to be okay. She's going to be with me and I'm going to take care of her. Do you trust me? But she's a big kid and she is um 30. She's 30. But sometimes even I'm 32 and sometimes even 30year-olds they mess up and they get in trouble. Yeah. She always crazy. She's always what? Crazy. Crazy to you. So, mom, what she said is mom goes crazy sometimes. She and mom fight all the time. Mom was being mean. Um, and she was crying. She was very upset as she was saying this. Uh, mom hits her. Um, when she hits her, it hurts. And she doesn't know why mom is so mean to her, but she loves mom and doesn't want mom to get in trouble. Children are indeed innocent and pure. Despite being abused by her mother, she still loved her unconditionally. Nevertheless, they charged Amanda Hopkins with felony child abuse. She was also given a court order to not have any contact with her daughter during her pre-trial release. While the parenting we've seen so far has been truly abysmal, nothing compares to our next case in Lacy, Washington on October 18th, 2024. 911 calls started flooding in from witnesses who saw two parents strangling their teenage daughter in broad daylight. You see it? Yeah, I saw the whole right here. That's the suspect or victim? He did. Hey, get up. Okay, we're going to walk to my car over here. OKAY. Hang on tight. Okay. So, just right. So, you're you're detained right now. Okay. You understand that? A very brave bystander stepped in to rescue the girl from her father is Shauna Lee. As evidenced by the man's ability to hold Eissan down till the cops arrived, this good Samaritan was well trained in martial arts. All of this was happening outside Timberland High School where the victim was a student. I want to speak with my daughter. You're not speaking to anyone at the moment. Yes, I want to speak with my daughter. You will not speak to your daughter. Why? This is my daughter over here. I want to let her to go take her mom. Okay. Well, we're investigating a criminal investigation right now. Just let me to tell her to take him out. Not like that. Just I I tell her to go home. She will go home. I want to speak with my wife. Let me go. Let her go. Do you understand these these rights I've explained to you? It's a yes or a no. Okay. So, everything's audio video recorded. Okay. Okay. So, do you understand these rights I've explained to you? I need a yes or a no, okay? Or I'm going to assume you don't. Obviously, the father had no intention of cooperating or acknowledging his Miranda rights. Thankfully, multiple eyewitnesses had seen everything that happened before the cops arrived. The team of officers gathered statements from the friends and bystanders in the area who did everything they could to protect the victim from this violent attack. Okay. Witnesses that So the one with the what did the one in the the gray backpack? He said he saw everything. That was Yeah. Three of them saw everything. What What did they say? Essentially that they were at the bus stop. The dad came up, started and grabbed her like on the shoulder just like this and grabbed hold of her. Um and at some point okay into the pavement and then popped back up and the dad and then a bunch of people piled on trying to get him off of her fell on the ground. He still had her. Okay. And her face is I guess in the dirt and then so they had to like roll came off of her to get to her and then I guess the adult came and then the mom got a hold of her daughter and was driving me. The 17-year-old victim told cops that she feared for her life not only from her parents but also from other family members. Earlier that morning, she had left home without permission, and ever since then, her parents had been out trying to recapture the girl. They had reported her missing to police, but actually she was running for her life. Your husband asked, "You did not assault no one. This is my daughter." No, he didn't. I have proof. I was recording everything. He kicked me in the face. He [ __ ] my mom and my dad. He grabbed it with another person to the ground. We need to g everything. A lot of a lot of students were already I'm recording right now. I'll show you later. I want to talk TO MY DAD RIGHT NOW. OKAY. WELL, THAT'S NOT HAPPENING the way you're acting. Need to calm down. That's going to happen. Take a deep breath. Give [snorts] me Give get five minutes and maybe we'll like talk to Bo. I can't have you scream out here in the school parking lot. That's unacceptable. You know this uh people? I do. I know them very well. Hey, so is there cuz I was with you this morning, right? Is there anything I could help answer at the moment? The victim here had been dating a boy from her school. And as punishment, the parents had booked her a one-way ticket to Iraq. Once there, there was to be an arranged marriage to an older man. Allegedly, the father wanted to carry out an honor, claiming it was a form of justice for disobeying their commands. Meanwhile, the older sister and the mother made a pathetic attempt to act innocent. This is not a crime either. We're choking up like They're choking him down. When I just showed the first video of I the guy they're detaining him. Okay. He had a right to be detained. Okay. What do I do now? What do I do? What do you mean by that? What do I do now? What do you What What do you want me to do? What What do I do? I my sister. So it to my my siblings. Your mom's not involved and you're not other than being here and seeing it, right? So you're my siblings. My my siblings, my little brother, my little dad. Okay. So you guys you guys will be fine. No. Okay. How is this? How is this? How did you say that? How can you say that? How did you How did you say that? How do you I know there's a lot going on. Let us do our investigation and then we can give you more information about what's going to happen with your sister and what's going to happen with your dad. Okay. The father was arrested for attempted attempted kidnapping and assault. He was held on bail for $1 million. The mother, Zara Ali, was also charged with attempted Urban was set at half a million dollars. Both parents are behind bars awaiting trial. Healing the scars from growing up in an abusive environment is a terribly huge challenge for kids. Offering warmth and love and never abuse should be every parent's full-time commitment. We can only hope that if these abusive parents would get a second chance, they'll get their act straight and treat their children better. Thank you for watching and we'll see you next time.
