911 Now call 911 I need 33 having spent over 5 minutes in an overheating vehicle agent Hatton was already experiencing some medical issues like shortness of breath and demanded that the officers call an ambulance so he called me on my phone to meet with me about a matter uh magically got your number and he was questioning me on a ticket that I wrote said he worked for another agency which turns out to be legit but at the time we didn't know so I called my supervisor here decision was made to uh detain him while we were checking his legitimacy yeah and uh we put him in the back and uh after that he started complaining of uh shortness of breath vision loss if you you think this was the last cop who got humbled by special agents then you probably haven't heard of this next case I go to pull up my pants and I still happen to index okay bang sh through my pants here I stand straight up hits the bleachers go straight straight through my pants here right into the bleachers Nicks me a little bit I'm cleaned up I'm good to go okay this is an officer from the Steamboat Springs Police Department on June 15th 2018 a police officer Markham King from the Cheyenne Police Department Department was outside of a baseball field in Steamboat Springs where a youth baseball game was taking place during the game some gunshots were heard outside of the ground and the cops were dispatched to the location to investigate the situation upon the arrival of cops they approached officer Markham King outside the field watch how the interaction follows go hey what's happening you I'm Brent pleasure yeah what's going on you heard of a technic clip huh let me show you real quick all right and this I typically I don't keep one in the hole because this because I was scared of this [Applause] very oh yeah yeah clear yep right so Technic CP inside okay here yep I go to pull up my pants and I still happen to index okay bang sh through my pants here I stand straight up hits the bleachers go straight straight through my pants here right into the Blazers Nicks me a little bit I'm cleaned up I'm good to go okay so wow entally hit man okay that's that's that is beginning middle and end somebody called in and they're like yo everybody was super calm about this whole thing either like it was really weird well cuz I was like hey it was me it was me cuz I went to I went to sit down and enjoy the game yeah and I went to pull out my pants index and crank one off so okay um I I'm a dou blue guy myself I work in Cheyenne and violating the cardinal rule so um yeah that's everybody's fear though isn't it it is everybody's Fe especially with social media and everything that's going down with absolutely the FBI I I didn't know what happened I thought it was a car oh yeah cuz I was talking over here and I I always checked to him cuz he's always got everything under control every time we're around you know and I was like I he was stand out sat down looked down it was it was it was so surreal to me so I I do it and I'm like I hear I'm like I know what it is I'm like no yeah hold in my pants shoot so all right that's it man I'm putting her away and you're not injured at the point you need to go to the hospital or anything like that no I just got a little Nick right here SC it's it's just it's just a scratch if you want to so you can do for your report if you got to do a report it's okay I saw the blood in your pants I know you're at least bleeding yeah just a little bit but nothing nothing crazy you got your idea with it yeah do the metal bleachers [Applause] or well I'm concerned about this obviously you know as a law enforcement officer um how much have you had to drink today uh about four or five sips I had mixed a uh a whiskey and a ginger ale okay and I was debating on putting the damn thing away um but I always it's always had fine line you know it's always like what if something goes down and you're not prepared so I always I always play that my head um but yeah I did have four or five sips of a ginger ale mixed with with the with the wh Bish bush Okay when was that it was it was about about a half an hour 45 minutes ago um probably about I guess the shot went about 20 minutes 30 minutes after that can't give you the exact time tell me what was running through your head when you when you thought about putting that the gun away so it's like I told you it's like so you you always weigh your options like am I prepared to handle like and we always think about this in our job am I hand prepared to handle or you protect lives and the you supp for situation or or active shooter situation um and that that risk in that that thought process is what what I'm always thinking about know let me uh let me get you to sign both of these guys here yeah just right here in the Box so there's no bond on it no it's it's a it's a mandatory court date so you got to I got to come yeah yeah this is a county charge do you guys have City charges we do but not to cover reckless endangerment um and the the disorderly conduct piece about discharging a firearm in public okay so yeah that's it goes through County court all right who's the judge judge James Garrett James yeah so anything else no good all right appreciate you all right have a better day yeah thanks man yep yep I'm out of here so officer King who had a concealed carry permit unintentionally fired a shot from a small semi-automatic handgun into the dirt beneath the bleachers the bullet grazed his buttock and Drew some blood but he was otherwise uninjured officer King complied with requests to leave the area of the baseball game which was part of of a Triple Crown Youth Tournament the game continued after the incident officer King had come to support one of the baseball teams he has been charged with disorderly conduct misdemeanor and reckless endangerment it's strange to see when cops and special agents face off if you enjoyed the video be sure to drop a
