Department in Nevada on September 14th 2023 around 9 p.m. Deputy Carl apprehended a citizen named James Gresham who was simply walking on private property holding his bike officer Carl immediately became aggressive demanding James put down his bike when James asked why he was being stopped the officer claimed it was because he was riding his bike without headlights Deputy Carl then pulled out his stun gun threatening to tase James while ordering him to get on the ground here's how it unfolded cuz I told you to put the bike down why are you stopping me right now because you're riding your bike with no [ __ ] light on I riding it I got put the bike down light right here dude put the bike right here no [ __ ] that put the bike down James turn around put your hands behind your back turn arrest initially sheriff's deputies were responding to what appeared to be an uncontrolled fire near an apartment building as Deputy Carl investigated he noticed a male suspect in a black black hooded sweatshirt leaving the area on a bicycle acting quickly he began searching for the suspect and soon encountered James who he assumed must be the individual spotted earlier despite having no evidence linking James to the fire Deputy Carl proceeded to handcuff and detain him doesn't change how we go about this I've had to study for my law for this [ __ ] that I've been going through okay I'm a little bit more ver and how's that working out for you well you know it's been three years of uh my due process being violated I've been convicted of nothing since I've been here it's still going on former Jackson County Sheriff's deputy Zachary Wester who was involved in a traffic stop on February 5 15 2018 where he was caught planting evidence this incident ultimately led to a prison sentence of 12 years and 6 months after he was found guilty of 19 charges including fabricating evidence and arresting innocent people here's what happened during that traffic stop what birthday present for subject finished a phone call with a relative explaining the entire situation and maintaining her innocence she was then arrested she remained fully compliant and was later prosecuted and sentenced however after reviewing the body cam footage the prosecutor saw what Zachary Wester had done and raised the alarm upon investigation it was confirmed that Wester had indeed planted the drugs in court 12 additional victims testified against him leading to his conviction on 19 of the 67 charges his convictions included racketeering three counts of official misconduct three counts of perjury three counts of fabricating evidence four counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and two counts of false imprisonment but Wester isn't the only corrupt cop who's been exposed for planting evidence as we'll Collins the stop was initiated after authorities claimed to have observed a passenger engaging in what they believed was a drug deal claiming to smell marijuana they began searching the vehicle here's Officer Courtney Brown initiated a traffic stop on a citizen Sarah Webb for speeding Webb apologized explaining that she was late for work which was why she had been speeding officer Brown then returned to her patrol car to to consult with fellow officers about whether to arrest web or simply issue a speeding ticket here's how the interaction unfolded the ground's wet it's been raining
