That person is known for have a mental disability. You're not allowed in here. >> We're not allowed in here. >> You're not allowed in here. >> Get off of her, bro. Get off of her. What are you doing? >> He punched me twice. >> What are you doing? You chas me with a knife? Yes. Because why are you touching me? Why are you touching me? >> Get on the ground or let the police. >> Being a manager comes with special perks and authority. However, some bosses abuse their power and they end up making bad choices that put them in the back of a squad car. From violent brawls to robberies worth thousands of dollars, there are few things more outrageous than when dump managers get arrested at work. It's about money and because this girl working on a fake name. She told you the alcohol was on you about you. I got for y'all. That is a false. >> On the 30th of March 2023, police responded to a call at a Popeye's in Florida after reports of an assault by an employee. The suspect, later identified as the store's manager, had shown up on their day off after stealing $1,500 from the register. >> For real, you Hey, baby. I told you about your stand by you. Stay right here. We're our siblings. We have to stay matter. Chill, bro. >> It matters to me. >> It matters to me cuz you let come between me and my family. If that's how >> y >> this is my actual biological go it's about money and because this girl >> working on a fake name she told you the alcohol was on you >> about you I got for y'all that is a false man that's why I just say I got I have seizure sir >> I used to work here Okay, >> yesterday I just woke up my neck and neck. >> Well, first and foremost, the fight because she grabbed me. >> Okay. >> All I did was hold it down. Ain't no man against a woman. I got a surgery. Let's clear that up first. The dirt that she works under a fake name here. Y'all accused me when I worked under $1,500, man. No. >> So, when she called the police, hey, we trying to figure out what >> I came out here to confront my sister cuz y'all telling me somebody going to do something at my house. I already know how she play. This girl cut tight, bust windows. If you run it, her name will come back to Willie Drive. I'm tired of being in the middle. When this girl came back to work here, she used my manager code. She didn't have one. >> The suspect denied they'd been stealing, saying another staff member was using a fake name. What didn't help the suspect's case was that even their own sister wanted them in jail. >> He don't want to chill. He don't broke out properly. I'm his sister. I'm trying to get him. >> Is he related to her? >> No. >> How do you know? How >> he need to go to jail. He needs to go to jail. >> We got to calm down. I hit my hand, sir. >> We got to figure out what's going on. Okay. >> He hit me and threw me on the table. You see my eyebrow? >> I'm the GM here. I want to trespass more and put it. >> We can do all that, but we got to figure out what's going on first. Okay. >> For no reason. >> Okay. >> Where was she at on the set? Where were you sitting at? >> He came up in here, but he had already text saying he was on his way to her to fight her. >> Why is he mad at you? >> They've been It's a It's a argument or whatever. Whatever. You got in >> a boyfriend, girlfriend. >> I got to ask. >> Okay. Are they so Why? How are they texting each other? How do they know each other? >> What happened? Tell him what happened. >> I'm asking you. >> Oh, well, she called me and said he coming to fight me. I was here at work. >> He called you? >> He came away from Daytona. >> They called you wanting to fight her for what? He >> I don't know >> when all he say to you >> that you can remember >> what are they text because he >> and I'm not leaving my work >> as the victim wasn't seriously hurt. It looks like the suspect would face a misdemeanor battery charge. However, the suspect stated that it was all self-defense. The officer tried to gather more information about the case, but incredibly stumbled upon possible information related to a much more serious case. >> Oh, is that your phone? >> Yeah. I'm He leave your job. He's coming to find you. I just dropped your car right about call. >> All right. Go back up. Go back up. >> Who's he to you? >> This man, that's from yesterday. >> That's from yesterday. >> Yeah, we talking about him. You >> don't know. >> Really? >> You're not inform. >> Okay. You don't know where >> the news story on her phone related to a homicide case in the area that was currently being investigated, but none of the women offered any information. The cop returned to the matter at hand and the woman from the fight showed him video footage of the incident. >> The first video when he first came in here. Hold on. >> That's when he first came out. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Let's see how you first came in here. But >> why is she? >> That's She's the clue. The one the one right there. That Oh, that one out there. Which one? >> The one with the pink the off. >> No, we not going to come on at 4:00. We supposed to come on out, but he came in here started. >> Hold on. Is it? >> You see? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Outside the restaurant, a supervisor arrived and conferred with another officer. The suspect claimed to have been injured in the altercation, but refused any medical help. While the supervisor was being briefed, the suspect went on running their mouth and just making things worse. >> And a male called said he was going to come over here and kick somebody's butt. He showed up, said, "This is kicked our butt." I don't know if this is male yet. Haven't got that far. Okay. >> Um, so yeah, whoever whoever that person is came here to beat the person up. >> Excuse me. Can you just just hang tight over here while we're investigating this? Okay. >> Okay. We can only do one thing at a time. You understand that, right? >> Well, right now you seem to be the problem. So, just hang tight. Do you need a paramedic? I already asked you. >> I'm hot, by the way. Okay. >> I'm hot. >> Yeah. Did you see that uh on crime maps? The Holly Hill uh the Holly Hill homicide suspect. >> Oh, >> yeah. >> Apparently, he's right down the road. They know him. >> Oh, >> yeah. >> Like right down the road where? >> They won't tell me. >> Oh, but apparently he's nearby somewhere. >> They're all related. Oh, I don't know. cuz she was looking I was there scrolling through the phone and I saw a picture of him like I didn't even know this guy. >> Going back to the homicide, the women refused to provide information because these days there can be serious consequences if you work with police before being charged. The suspect was banned from the store and ultimately fired. >> All I did was push my hand or finger jabs her factory. >> Right. You finger jabbed her, but you came up here from Daytona >> to fight her. >> Looking for an altercation. >> Let me sit you in my car that way. >> What do y'all have that I came here to fight with girls? Come on, man. >> No phone. I ain't said no such thing. >> Okay. I always say like that. Leave it. >> The suspect was charged with battery, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and grand theft. They were sentenced to probation. However, 3 months later, they were rearrested for similar offenses. The homicide suspect has since been arrested as well. On July 14th, 2024, the cops in Florida responded to a violent incident at a local Burger King where shockingly an employee punched a customer in the face. Officers soon confronted the suspect outside the restaurant. >> I don't give a >> I don't give a >> Stop. Get over here. >> Put your hands behind the back. >> I don't give a do now. Yo, you see what he's saying? Yo, so fame me 101. F me 101. >> We can go to jail. They're disorderly at the very least. >> I'm sorry. >> No. >> All right. Jail. >> Bye. Have a seat. >> The cops identified the employee as 25-year-old Miguel Garcia. The incident was sparked by a customer who was unsatisfied with his order, but it was unclear who escalated things and who was the primary aggressor. To gather accounts of the incident, the cops proceeded to interview witnesses. >> Well, what I seen I like what I seen I just seen the bags on the floor. I see I guess he threw the food at bro face or whatever. >> Who stole the food? >> Him. >> This guy. >> Yeah. >> Is he a customer or something? >> Yeah, he's a customer. He wanted to he wanted a refund. >> Okay. >> That's what I want to hear when I come outside basically. And then like I see food on the floor. I'm trying to like break up first. It's a kid in the car and stuff. >> Okay. even long driving and like >> I guess like >> so what happened with him? How did he get involved? >> He was the one that he threw the food at his face. >> So were they talking about a refund or like how did he get to be out here with >> He was the one talking about the refund of him. >> Okay. >> And then like I guess I don't know what happened but I I just seen the food on the floor. I but I did witness that man throw the cuffs at the man face. So that's why he start Yeah. That's why he started um beating on the man car and like he ran back in his car like Yeah. He provoked that man. We told that man leaving off. >> They get physical with each other. >> Both of them got physical. He not in the wrong. They both got physical. They both started fighting. I don't know why he just booted up cuz the food got thrown at the face. I know you wouldn't like food getting >> No, he's he just needs to calm down for a second. Unfortunately, where the altercation took place, there were no surveillance cameras, so the cops had to rely on additional witness statements. Eventually, the officer got the I rate customer side of the story. >> What's going on? >> Talk to me. What happened? >> I ordered food. All right. They said, "Could you took my money?" said, "Could you come over here and wait for the food?" This clown keeps coming out, asks me if my car is for sale. talking like the way he's talking, but I don't want to do nothing because he's got my food in there. I don't want to spit him and whatnot. So, I let it I let it go. Keeps coming out asking to see my ticket about what my food is. I said, "It's three junior hoppers of chicken sandwich. It's the $5 bags. It's three of them." Oh, four of them. And then it all started real bad, right? I said, "Three soda is a diet coke." He hands me four sod. I go, "Which one's a diet coke?" Goes, "I don't know." I go, "This is serious." Cuz my mother's a diabetic. So he just makes another soda, gives me. So now I got five sodas, but they got this. They got everything back. So then I get out of the car and I was like, I don't want I want my money back now at this point cuz I don't know what they did to my food. So he starts doing all this [ __ ] Punches me in my face, starts pounding on my hood. My son is right here. >> The only reason he's not flat on his back with a broken face right now is because of him. The suspect left a dent on the customer's car hood that amounted to roughly $800 in damage. In addition, he had punched the customer's cheekbone, which could have resulted in serious injuries. Miguel, on the other hand, had no serious injuries. >> What happened between you and him, though? >> So, he wanted to um be specific in some kind of order where that kind of order we didn't have. Let's say let's say your job didn't have tomato, lettuce, whatever extra but it was a >> they don't where they supposed to have. >> So I didn't have them when they're supposed to have it. >> So I didn't have it. >> Okay. >> So he started talking I'm I'm going to be straight honest with you. >> Mhm. >> And I'll put this on the record or whatever. He started talking to you. >> Okay. I don't have that he was talking to me. Hey, you got to have lettuce because we don't have lettuce. You got to have tomato because we don't got tomatoes. And and when you pull up and don't say we got tomatoes, but two seconds ago we ran out of tomatoes. >> You feel me? >> Gotcha. >> It was clear which one of these two was being more truthful. Miguel's bloodshot eyes and his slur speech indicated that his behavior was influenced by alcohol or some kind of narcotic. He was acting like this while he was handling people's food. So, without a doubt, this could also lead to a lawsuit from the customer against the restaurant. >> Drinking or anything today? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yes. But that made me feel so much better because you guys got my name on the record. >> Yeah. Yeah. We got you. We got you. >> Oh my god. That made me feel >> So why why did you hit him? >> I hit him because he was for me. For me, he was disrespecting. He was like, "Oh, if you don't get my order, then why you working here? If you can't if you can't get my order and you can't have whatever I asked for it, why you can't have my That's literally how I felt off. >> Okay. So, you tell Okay. >> I felt like I had to like do his if I don't do his and I'm going to get a problem. That's literally why I pushed him and and you can ask all my my my coworkers that that's why I didn't even came outside because I wouldn't even came outside. >> Okay. Officer, I promise >> the suspect here was in a terrible state. And you've got to wonder why they hired this guy in the first place. After talking to the manager, the officer concluded that Miguel needed help and it wasn't too late for him to turn things around. >> You guys have too. >> Oh, Lord. >> Yeah. >> You understand when people going through something cuz I I have a background of my own, but there's always a point where you can do better in life. Like, >> yeah. But it's up to you to be able to do it. If you don't want to change, you're not going to change, >> right? >> He's a good person. >> Sounds like he needs to get some help. Sounds like he needs to get some help with that. Get straight. >> Just phone the money. >> You guys have a good night. >> You too. >> Thank you. Miguel was charged with battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly intoxication. He later pled no contest to the charges and served time in jail. On the 16th of August, 2023 in Florida, the cops were dispatched to a Dollar General store after reports of an employee stealing from the store. After conducting an audit, they shockingly discovered that a staggering $14,000 had gone missing. And that's what I need to get very clear because because I'm not going to trample over her civil rights >> because somebody else did. >> It was all just to pay my mom. My brother's funeral just died. >> I understand. >> He just told me that if I were I wouldn't go to jail. >> Understand that regardless of what statements are made, right? That is for you to dispute with a lawyer. As far as we are concerned, you have now committed the act of grand theft. That is a felony. We have no choice. We must make an arrest and we must take you in. They are the entity representing the business and they are requesting that we take law law enforcement action against you. That is our position on it. Okay? Regardless of whether we think that their investigation went right or wrong. As far as we are concerned, we are going to conduct our investigation in the proper order. >> The suspect claims she stole the money to cover the cost of the funerals for her mother and brother. According to the suspect, the supervisor promised her that if she gave a full statement, she would not face charges. But sadly, the supervisor had no authority to make that deal. The cop spoke to her supervisor to clarify exactly what happened. >> And are you her supervisor normally? Okay. So, she's made the statement to us that she was um told that if she provided a a statement um that she would that you guys would not pursue prosecution as >> you did make that statement to her. Yes. >> Okay. Okay. I just need to clarify. I'm here to I was trying to save her. You know what I mean? Yeah. But the other lady is lost prevention. >> Yeah. >> So she's going to do her thing. >> I was trying to at least she was willing to cause it. >> Yes. >> I was assuming that los prevention was going to take take that into consideration and accept, >> you know, like a deal, you know. >> Yeah. >> But it looked like she >> Yeah. Unfortunately. Okay. Those those kind of deals. So because of that, um, do you have ID so we can just document that we spoke with you and that that statement she's she's alleging that that statement was made. Mhm. >> And um so as far as we are concerned um we can't accept any of this because it was all done under duress and all and under a false pretense. She was coerced essentially. You you've made false uh pretenses that she wouldn't go to jail and we have nothing to do with that. But as far as we just need to document that this is allegation that she's making. Under federal law, there are certain protections provided if someone's deceived into confessing a crime, and this would be a potential gamecher in court. What the supervisor did was very unusual, and suspiciously, he refused to provide any ID. >> I just need your ID, and that was awful. >> No, I'm not going to provide my ID. I don't have to. I haven't committed any crime. >> You're part of the investigation as the authorized representative. And as her supervisor who brought her in here, you are now part of the investigation. >> You can't raise your tone. I'm not raising my toe at all, sir. >> I'm not afraid, but I'm not going to provide my ID because I haven't I'm happy that this is happening. >> I didn't want that to happen to her. Because the supervisor was not suspected of a crime, he didn't legally have to provide ID. However, providing ID would have assisted the investigation, and his defensive nature seemed very suspicious. At this point, the suspect was hoping that her conversation with the supervisor was recorded on camera. >> Is there a voice in the camera? >> Huh? >> There's a voice in the camera. >> No, >> it was all him when he said to me right under the camera right here. telling the truth. >> So, like this officer said, regardless of what took place, the crime took place. So, we can't get around that. >> I know. >> So, and a lot of times, you know, people can choose not to prosecute at first and then change their mind. >> Tell me if I >> You know what I mean? My glasses are not wearing >> your dates. >> I put from me whatever but um I can detail the deposit amount that she admitted to one by one. >> Yeah, if you can do that and just like the time frame you said April, May. Yeah. >> And your brother was um in March, right? >> Yeah. My mom Yeah. My mom died of cancer. My grand >> The cops allowed the suspect to give her debit card to a staff member who would then give the card to her adult daughter. In this way, she hoped she could bail herself out of jail. But according to the officer's estimate, it could be up to $6,000. >> They're taking me to jail. So if you could bail me out. >> Why are they taking you to jail? >> Cuz of deposits. But I mean, I didn't go yet, so I don't know how long it's going to be. But >> what does she have to do? >> Hey, Kyrie. Deposits. What are you talking about? >> At work. I'll tell you later. But what does she have to do? The police officer is right here. You're on speaker phone. >> Hey Kyrie, >> when they're ready to >> Sorry, my grandson. When they're ready to hold >> bond you out, they will allow you to make a phone call. >> Yeah. >> Okay. They said when they're when you come by me out later on tonight. I don't know how it's going to be. I guess you said online. >> Are you doing that? >> Sorry. Curry. It's okay. I'm right here. The average funeral in Florida is about $6,500. And that's why the suspect needed about $13,000. This doesn't excuse the fact that she broke the law. But if her unfortunate circumstances were true, she might get a more lenient sentence. >> Jesus, if you needed help with something, you should have told me. >> I would have helped you. >> You could have came and live with me. I already told you that stuff. >> I know. All right. >> Okay. Not all you want. Like this. This isn't a game. and Miguel Miguel took me told me that he wasn't he wasn't >> all right I'm letting music not supposed to >> don't tell nobody please >> love you bye >> then they have somebody coming >> the suspect was charged with felony grand theft and received 5 years probation On September 27th, 2023 in Illinois, the cops were dispatched to a gym after receiving a complaint. Allegedly, the music they were playing was way too loud. >> Okay, you [ __ ] it up. >> You're not welcome. You want to do it like you want to do it like this workout. >> I might get another unit. [Music] >> Yeah. I walked in and uh you know he's like the out of here. I'm like, "All right, you don't want to listen? You want to turn your music down?" He's like, "Let me see your ID when you come." He's like, "No, I'm not giving you that." Blah, blah, blah. So, >> hell yeah. >> Pretty much. He's like walking me out and he's like, "I'm not giving." I'm like, "Right." I'm like, I'm trying to talk to you. Put the music down. >> You got a complaint? >> Yeah, we got a complaint. >> Ongoing issue. I mean, we don't got a complaint, but this is ongoing issue. I I was literally just want to talk to him. He was rushing me out. He's like, "Get out of here. I ain't giving you." I'm like, "You're not going to music?" No. Me, >> it's a gym. I get it. >> It's important to note here that the music was being played quite early at 6:13 a.m. And the reason why Brandon, the owner, seemed so riled up was that it wasn't the first time the cops had been called on them. So, soon enough, the owner confronted the officers who had gathered outside. >> This is private property. Okay, but it's private property. You're about to get sued for harassment. You're not sitting here to my mother gym and talking and disturb me today. No. Yeah, you are. >> Yes, you are. You are sitting here staring at my [ __ ] These guys don't pay $50. You guys want to walk up here? >> She is. I don't give a You don't need to tell me about the bill. No, you don't. What are you going to do to me? You ain't gonna do that person is known for have a mental disability. It is in court documented. That's right. >> Brandon claimed that the person complaining about the music had a mental illness. While the music was loud inside, outside it couldn't be heard whatsoever. But a big part of why things had escalated was Brandon's aggressive demeanor. >> You guys are staring in here. What are you doing rolling four deep? >> Why don't you get shut up? All I was asking is for your ID. That's all I was asking. >> You're sued for harassment. >> You're gonna You don't got to do You're on private private property. >> I don't got to do I already went through this for 5 years. You're disrupting their >> You are disrupting it. >> You are causing the scene. If you give this officer your information, >> you're not allowed in here. >> We're not allowed in here. >> We're not allowed in here. While Brandon was being detained, the other gym goers felt that tasing him was excessive. However, because of his size and strength, as well as the aggression he showed towards the cops, the cops felt it was a reasonable use of force. Before he opened the gym, he was also an MAA fighter, so he was definitely capable of doing some damage. >> I got a cage. Put on >> mine. [Music] We'll get We'll get We get in a second. >> No, we got it. It should be on. Yeah. Keys in ask you for your ID, bro. That's it. you not do all this. >> Everybody there was cool with you. No one yelled at you or anything. You you provoked that whole thing. We know you're trying to work out and maybe a little amped up just work. >> Oh, man. It's just it's I had to go through court for all this again. >> I get it, man. But like, you know, when I first got here, I was cool with you. I was just trying to talk to you and right away start screaming at me. Okay. >> When they arrived at the jail house, the suspect was charged with two counts of resisting arrest. But later in court, both charges were dismissed. On July 21st, 2023, the cops arrived at a 7-Eleven store after a fight broke out between the store employee and a female driver from Uber Eats. The employee had trapped the driver inside. >> What is going on, man? You came in to get a goat ass. >> Who are you? >> Get off of her, bro. Get off of her. What are you doing? >> He punched me twice. >> What are you doing? >> Arrest me. I work here. >> What are you doing? >> I was trying to show him. He wasn't trying to tell me. you okay? >> He punched me in my eye with the >> All right, let me figure out what's going on. Okay, give me a second. >> Hey, man. Let me talk to you real quick. >> So, what what is happening? Why did you feel the need to do this? >> I work here. >> I don't care if you work here. >> So, explain to explain to me why did you feel the need? >> Yesterday, >> we're receiving a McLean truck. Nobody The store is closed. Nobody's allowed in the store until the truck leaves. >> Okay. I I understand that the store is closed. All right, sir. >> But why? Listen to me. I don't Listen to me. Answer my questions. Why did you feel the need? >> The store is closed and she was in the store. Nobody's allowed in the store until that McLean truck leave. >> So So the store is closed. No one's allowed in. So you kept her in the store? >> Keep her in the store. >> You were on top of her. >> The officer here was completely baffled. The employee, later identified as Kareem, claimed he wanted the woman to leave, but held her captive inside the store. Meanwhile, the other staff member, Josh, treated this whole thing as a nuisance to his shift and failed to recognize it as a serious crime. >> I'm trying. You're not answering my questions. >> Explain the procedure to call 911 during the emergency. >> Okay. So, was the procedure to jump on top of somebody? >> Watch the camera. >> So, explain to me why did you feel the need to keep her inside the store? >> What are you showing me? >> My father ID 911 for my office. You're at 10 or what? 0025 South Orange Avenue. >> Okay. You're not answering my question. >> Do your job and let >> Okay. So, answer my questions then. I'm trying to do my job. Why did you feel the need >> to to to be on top of this woman? >> Hey, don't walk away from me. I'm trying to talk to you. >> Kareem's inability to engage in basic conversation suggested he might have been under the influence. Beyond that, he might be suffering from mental health issues or some form of autism. Next up, the officer spoke to the woman involved. >> You want me to call you an ambulance? >> Do you need me to call you an ambulance? [Music] >> Can I have SDB51, please? >> I'm here for Uber Eats. Sorry, >> he wasn't in the front of the door. >> Did you explain to me what happened? >> I came in. I'm parked on this side. My boyfriend's a DJ. He's in the car right now. >> Got a female with a head injury. >> And I walked in. I didn't park in between. There was two trucks here. Not all 7-Eleven clothes when they're when they're shifting. I walked in, he was not there. The the freaking guy Josh, he's going to be like, I don't want nothing to do with it. I don't know. He's scared, but he was taking the order. I have him over each order. >> The woman's boyfriend was a paraplegic, would have been unable to leave the car and must have been horrified when he saw the cops enter the store. The woman also explained that Kareem spoke to her in an extremely hostile manner. >> But he was doing it. And the guy came from behind me. He was like, "Ma'am, you're not supposed to be in here." I don't know. And he starts locking the door and he's like, I'mma punch you. >> Okay. All right. So, try to calm down. Let's start from the beginning. So, you had an Uber Eats order. >> Yes. I walked in. Nobody was there. If he would have told me the store is closed, I would have cancelled it. It's not that serious. >> So, you were able to walk in? >> Yes. That door, the left door that we're looking at on our left was open. Sir, >> I came I spoke with Josh. He asked me what was the name. I told him the name. He asked me. He's like, "Okay, well, my sister's a little messed up. Can you read me the order?" I told him the beef men. He said, "Okay, I got it. Now I know which order." He started doing that. This guy's yelling at somebody, a man outside. Then he comes in and he's like, "Ma'am, you can't be in here." So, I'm telling him like, "You can't talk to people like that." Cuz he's coming off very hostile. And I'm telling him, I'm here Uber Eats. And Josh is telling her because she had the order, but nobody can be in here today. And that's when he starts freaking out. He starts locking down. >> Hold down. I'm punch you. And we're in this aisle with the yellow bag of chips right there is and he hits me with one of the scarers in his hand. And then he sits on me the whole time there and I'm telling him they can't cuz I do want to press. >> Kareem was saying he'd done nothing wrong. However, while the cops were getting the woman side of the story, suspiciously, the 7-Eleven employees locked themselves in the back room and were playing loud music. [Music] Can >> Can I Can you crack it so I can talk to you? [Music] >> What is that? I work here, sir. >> Okay. >> I'm doing my job in the plant. >> Get on the ground. Orlando police. Get on the ground. Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hand behind your back. Stop resisting your back. Stop resisting. Stop resisting. Get your hand behind your back. >> Get up. Yes, sir. You got my workout. Sorry. I'll get you a workout. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. [Music] Both 7-Eleven guys appear to be under the influence, which might explain their erratic behavior. If Kareem was dealing with mental health issues, it would have been helpful for Josh to point that out. Meanwhile, at the squad car, Kareem continued talking in a very strange manner. >> Spread your feet. Spread your feet. Yes, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> When we tell you to open the door, open the >> I have to go by 7-Eleven guidelines, sir. I know. Orlando, >> don't give me any of that. >> Yes, sir. >> You have anything on you that's going to poke me, stab me, or do anything? >> No, sir. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States American. Shut up. Stand. >> You good? >> Sit down. It's >> okay. Let's go. It probably won't surprise you to learn that assaulting customers is not part of 7-Eleven's employee guidelines. The cop wanted to see the incident from the surveillance cameras so he then talked to Josh. But since he didn't have access to the cameras, he called his manager up so the officer could talk to him. >> Hey sir, how you how you doing? It's Officer Mendes with the Atlanta Police Department. >> Hey, how are you? >> Good. Um, so my question to you is, so we have a little bit of situation as your employee said. We're just trying to get access to the cameras to see what happened. Um, is there any way you can come and we can review the camera footage? >> Uh, unfortunately that camera system is not working since yesterday. >> Only one camera is working out of it. I just noticed that yesterday when I was going through the cameras because I wanted to take a look at something and entire system is not recording anything for some reason. >> Okay. So there's nothing recorded for today. >> Not for since actually day before yesterday there's nothing recorded in >> I already called the I already called the guy come and fix it but he hasn't been there yet. So only one camera is working which is actually facing the door and that's about it. >> Okay. Um thank you sir. What was the situation? >> Um, so we're still trying to figure out, but from our our understanding is that your employee um battered one of the customer or hit one of the customers and was preventing them from leaving. Um, so right now and then so when we talked when we tried >> when we tried to talk to your your employee, he wasn't compliant and he basically locked himself in a door. It seems strangely convenient that the cameras were broken and it's possible that Kareem or Josh had been talking with the manager while hiding in the back room. Josh continued talking to the officers, but he didn't say anything that could incriminate Kareem. >> Are you willing to write a statement about what happened? >> I didn't go to full asleep. >> Whatever you saw, >> all I saw was him. All the legit store was closed. >> Okay. >> I didn't see anything that happened in that back aisle. I was over here trying to do my bathroom. >> So, the incident happened back here, >> correct? >> And you didn't see what happened? >> Yes. >> As unfortunate as it is. >> Okay. >> What's your first name, man? >> Kareem. >> What is it? >> Kareem. >> Kareem. >> Yes, sir. >> Why did you lock yourself in the office over there? >> Lock yourself because there been a lot of breakers around here like the guy says, draft racing. um speed race and Uber all types of stuff and we got robbed three times. >> Okay. Did you not know that they were the police? >> Man, there's so many officer in the area because this is a distribution area. You are Orlando. Orlando is that way by the end boy. Kiss me that way. She said she was from Oyala County or something. >> Okay. So, why didn't she open the door? >> I'm not supposed to. Only one person supposed to open that door. >> Okay. As the cops continued to talk to Kareem outside, he still didn't seem to comprehend how serious his actions were or the fact that the woman suffered a head injury because of him. >> She's a young lady. I'm not trying to harm or anything. I'm just trying to get my job done because the shift change might come. >> What time does the store close? >> The store never closes. >> Okay. So, if the store never closes, how was she intruding? If the store never closes, >> she wasn't with the McQueen. >> She wasn't with the who? We're playing that big old 18 with a truck that was parked right there. >> So because she wasn't with the truck >> that meant she was an insurance the store when you freeze the store the store leave the paperwork. There's paper that we got to go back and double track and that's it. >> Okay. >> I mean I I understand y'all are busy and stuff man but uh >> Okay. Did you and did you and the lady in the store get into any kind of physical altercation? >> No. I was just like, "Don't move them and letting her breathe." She went forward. I went backward. I didn't touch her. Didn't hurt her over her some. So, how are you letting her breathe if you didn't touch her? >> Because she was talking to me. >> They charged Kareem with battery, criminal mischief, resisting an officer, false imprisonment, and obstructing justice by hindering a witness from communicating information to law enforcement. On the 12th of March 2023, the cops were dispatched to a bar that was operating outside legal hours. Upon arrival, they confronted the bar's owner, Jonathan Blau, on why his bar was still serving alcohol at 4:30 in the morning. >> Hey, it's 4:30. >> I know. >> Go get the guy for me. >> Yeah, they do. Last call now. >> Now they going to do it now. >> Yeah, they see him. >> Yeah. >> Hey, it's 4:30. It's 4:30. I'm talking to you. You own the place, right? You own the place, right? >> Stop. I am talking to you. Stop. >> So, you don't break law. I'm not breaking the law. Am I under arrest? >> Excuse me. >> Do you own this establishment? >> Am I under arrest, sir? >> Do you own this? >> Am I under arrest, sir? >> Um, I am talking to you. >> I understand, but am I under arrest? >> You're not under arrest, but you're not free to leave. The bar is located in Dest, Florida, and it's illegal to serve alcohol there between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. However, this incident took place on daylight savings, and that's when the clocks are advanced by an hour. So, it could have been just an honest mistake. However, the owner seemed determined to make this much more difficult than it needed to be. >> I worked with this guy. Just listen to what he got to say. >> Okay. I'm going to ask you. >> I need to see your alcohol. >> I need to see your DA. I need to see your liquor license. >> I need to see your liquor license. I have a right as a law enforcement officer in the state of Florida to inspect your liquor license. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> I need a license. Don't have one. >> I don't know. It sounds I don't own one. >> You see yourself as we do not own We do not own a liquor license. We rent one right now. We rent one on a interest loan from Wild. It is. >> I need to see it, please. >> Do you have a warrant, sir? >> I need to see your license. >> Do you have a warrant, sir? Everything that you're saying has been sent on outside on property is on audio and video recording. >> That's okay. I'm audio and video. >> Okay. We have everything up, including the night you guys that you guys harass the out of me and threaten your license. >> No, sir. I don't have one. >> You do not have one ID? >> No, sir. I don't have to show any ID. >> Um, >> you cannot come back. This is a chest. No, sir. I'm not. >> The cops don't need a warrant to inspect a bar's liquor license. In fact, many bars choose to have their license on display so everyone can see. Eventually, all the customers were asked to leave and the staff began shutting the bar down for the night. But the owner, Jonathan, continued to add unnecessary drama to things. >> You got customers still inside, sir? >> No, sir. Only employees. Only boys. I have only Sir I need to let my go for my safety and my staff. Sir, please stop. Please. No, sir. No, sir. I need to step back. I need to No, I have a safety of my staff inside. Step outside. No, sir. Not happy. Not >> sir. >> Have a good night. Put your hands behind your back. >> What's going on? What's going on? >> This is the only >> We understand that. >> It's not between you and us. It's between us. >> No, I'm not. I'm very relaxed. I'm being arrested. What am I being arrested for? >> Can anybody ask you in a second? >> No. What am I being arrested for? >> I'm not arrested. >> What am I being arrested for? >> Hey, what am I being arrested for? No, sir. I don't want to sit outside my life. >> Outside the squad car, he continued arguing with the officers. Jonathan claimed he had to lock the door to keep his staff safe, even though the bar was surrounded by cops and they were more than capable of keeping everyone safe. You can't lock a door with customers inside. >> There was no customers. Only employees inside. For the safety of my staff, my doors are locked. >> I told you that >> cops out here. You don't have to understand that. >> Really? >> You don't. >> Okay, sir. Well, then why am I in handcuffs? >> Because you resisted. >> I didn't resist. You can't >> do an investigation. No, I never So, how do you know you weren't even here? >> We did. It's all >> Yeah, I know you were. I know you were here. You think you saw I understand that, but you didn't see that. What type of investigation is it that you What are you investigating? What kind of alcohol it was? I'm very confused. I understand, but I just got here. >> So, I don't understand why I'm in handcuffs >> because I need to talk to you cuz you're the owner. >> So, right. You know, I had to You put me in handcuffs. You need to talk to me. >> Yeah. When you're detained for an investigation. >> Understandable. >> Let's conduct the investigation. You refuse to comply. >> I didn't refuse to comply. I said, you asked, "Why am I locking the door?" I said, "Because I need to safety my staff." Said, "Do I have any customers?" Ask me. >> Sir, >> stand by. Stand by. >> Another point of contention was that he had just arrived at the bar. So, if anyone was to be blamed, it would be the management that was currently there. Jonathan also seemed to believe that the DEA, which is generally involved in the illegal drug trade, are the only ones allowed to check a liquor license in a bar. >> I was asking, so what am I doing? What am I doing? >> That's a business. That's not me. >> Okay. >> I was standing outside. >> Are you? >> No, I'm nobody. >> Manager of this business. >> Nope. Don't even work here. >> Don't even work here. Clean the bathrooms maybe once in a while contract. 1099 employee. >> Okay. So, thank you. Have a good day. Yeah. >> Nope. >> Right. So, that's not what you're doing. >> Exactly. >> Sir, what am I being investigated for? >> Stop. >> Face me. Like you explained liquor license, sir. >> I stand for a liquor license. You guys are not DEA. You cannot do that. First off, >> we can't. We can. >> Absolutely. No, you can't. Okay. Okay. And I told you you want to see my liquor license? I don't own one. It's a rental. We pay for 2,000 >> rents that are owned. We can still be that's what he said. He said, "Do I have a liberal?" >> I was there. I didn't hear. And that's fine. That's what I'm trying to tell you. >> But the facts in the only after we had an altercation outside and I wouldn't talk. I'm sorry. I just walked up. I just didn't know what was going on. I'm sorry. So because I walk past officer now he's going to barge an establishment that maybe I have something to do with maybe I don't and demand me to give him a liquor license because you're investigating a liquor license that you think that I have. I'm in handcuffs, right? >> His sister recorded the entire incident and continued taking his side. While this was happening, someone drunkenly fell over. And while the owner seemed to think that he could use it to make a point, in reality it was a terrible argument. open cameras. The guy fell and dare I go. Come on now. >> What's wrong with falling? Falling's not illegal. >> All right. Is what I did. I walked into my est. So if I ran right now and fell, would you arrest me? >> I can't because I didn't do anything. You fast. I got no wind. >> So this is this is the best. >> I'm I'm doing my job. wants to talk to you. I would just do whatever we need to do. And then if you feel like something's been say something, but at this point >> the worst I could do is say something like that investigation say, "Hey, guy over here." That's the worst idea. What I'm saying is like >> the man continued to have the same conversation with different police officers. However, just repeating the argument is not going to make it right no matter how many times he says it. He was eventually taken to a squad car and an officer explained to his sister as to why he was being arrested. >> Why am I being arrested? >> I ask you being detained in >> Yes, ma'am. You're good. He's on the desk. >> What is he being charged with? >> What is he being charged with? >> Uhisting and uh obstructing a a deputy in the performance of duties related to a nostalgia liquor license. Um >> can I ask how he was obstructing? >> Lock the door to ID himself >> when he walked away after he was asked to step outside. Jonathan was charged with resisting arrest, after hours sale of liquor, and obstruction of an officer where beverages are sold. He was later released on a $3,000 bond. On August 1st, 2023 in Florida, the cops were informed about a manager who was stealing from the Target store she worked at. Loss Prevention explained to police that in just one single day, nearly $1,400 had gone missing. >> And her drawers were short every day then. the shortage was there. >> Okay. >> How are you aware made aware of this? >> So, I'm made aware of this every time a team member opens the register for >> it flags in the system and it's not for sale. >> Um, and as well as I review the closing cash that's having been closing. I review all of our closing cash operations regular. Um, but I was reviewing we were missing a cash bag, an entire bag. Um, and we were trying to find out where it went. So I'm like, "All right, I'm just gonna start reviewing video on the and on the 20th I found that both bags were put there. Go between the register that register >> and can see the cash." I'll show you that initial video, but this is the one I clicked on first. There's our team number there and I have a better picture of the shot. They coincide. You're good. They coincide time wise, but this this is a nice clear zoomed in with the top shot. Okay. >> Can you pause it for a second? Okay. Um, so we're just reviewing video real quick. It's great. >> Can you just make sure she doesn't try to walk up? >> The store was using CCTV cameras that were 4K and the resolution on them is four times higher than traditional cameras. In short, you could see exactly what she was doing at the register. As loss prevention explained, the suspect gave the appearance that she was simply counting the money. >> So, we're looking at ones, fives, tens, 20s, 50s, and hundreds. in the last right. >> It's a a little bit more video cuz I got the whole process. But >> so you combine the 50s and hundreds in the far right. >> Mhm. >> Is that how every register is supposed to be? >> That's standard. Yeah. What she does is she takes all the register. Um, and once she has it all out, she fans it all out. And then you can see the left side, which where the larger bills are, and she's setting it up that way. She'll take multiple what looks like on the low end to be three. >> Okay. >> So, we went with three. >> Now, is this common for a cashier to sit here and pull all the money out at the cash register and count it and then >> typically they should just take it all out, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, and put it in one of those bags. >> So, they're not usually counting it at the register. >> They don't count at the register. We have a cash office and machine that counts it. As we said, she was suspected of stealing roughly $1,400, which in Florida is considered grand theft in the third degree, and it's a felony, and it could lead to a prison sentence of up to 5 years. These moves she was making were extremely risky given the store's extensive surveillance systems. And they were also unwise, as this woman was putting her entire livelihood at risk. right there. Folds it up. Puts a rubber band on it. Sets it on top. Puts that my device little phone thing on top of it. Puts the remainder of the money in the bag. Those are coupons that are manufactur supposed to get processed as well. >> Okay. >> She then rebanks the register with the money that's supposed to go in there. All that left. place the bag on top. That's standard. Places that bag into the cart. And then she comes back and retrieves both her phone and the money that's right there into the right. This is her going over to that same region. It's just a different camera angle. So you can see that it's positive identification of her. >> Are these 360 cams? Is that how you're able to move it or >> I can move only certain cameras. They are 360. I was live here watching this from my office. Okay. That's how I was able to zoom in and get that real clean clear shot. But this is a similar video. You can kind of see her do it here, but the top one's the best one. This is just another angle. >> Okay. So, is this common for her to go from register to register to take the money out, put it in the bag, and bring it to you guys? Or is it >> We have a team member that typically does it. um whether it's it's her or another team member at the typical practice they go register register take the money out put in the bags put it in this cart and it locks into the cart >> this is what she was assigned to do that at that at that point >> after being read her Miranda writes the officer explained the situation to her spoke in a non-confrontational manner as he was trying to elicit a confession she'd been working at the store for 3 years without any prior issues and she was clearly trusted enough to be assigned to the registers accusing you of taking in unknown amount of money at this point. Somewhere close to the range of $1,400. Do you know anything about this at all? >> Okay. Um, how long have you worked here for? >> Almost three years. >> Okay. And you've had no other issues like this within the last 3 years, correct? >> Um, I noticed on camera that you were uh responsible for going from register to register and taking the money out of the drawer. Is that a common practice of yours? Okay. And what is included in that practice? What what do you do? Can you explain to me? So, I am taking the money from the day out and putting new money for the next day. >> Okay. And when you take the money out, do you count it or anything like that? So, you just >> So, how would you take it out of the drawer? >> Take it out, put in the red or green bag, and then put the next bag into the >> Okay. So, you basically just go from each money slot, pull it out, place it in a bag. Don't look at it or anything. >> Right. Right. >> I fix it up if I need a Cooper. >> So, if it's out of order or something, you'll you'll fix it up. Okay. Would there be any reason why you would roll up money? >> No. >> Okay. >> So, you wouldn't roll it in to any kind of like money roller and then put a rubber band over it or anything? >> While she maintained she was innocent, the officer confronted her with the overwhelming evidence stacked against her. Aside from the video footage, the cops also had statements from co-workers who also confirmed she was stealing. So, when I was watching the video footage, it's pretty clear that it was that what you were doing is rolling it into a money roll, placing a rubber band over it, and then placing it on top of the desk. Why would you be doing that? >> You didn't do that. Okay. So, why would the video footage show you doing that? >> You see where I'm at here, right? I'm watching a video footage that's unedited from the department store, who has no reason to accuse you of this. I don't know if it's unedited, but I have never done anything like that. >> Okay. >> Is there anything else you'd like to add to this? >> All right. >> She denied any wrongdoing and was presumably hoping that the video footage was inconclusive. The cop seemed confident that the footage settled everything, so he did nothing more to elicit a confession. But ultimately at the courthouse, she'd have a very tough time defending her innocence. >> When do I get to speak to a lawyer? >> Um, that will be after processing. >> So once you get crossed into the jail, processed into the jail, then you'll have an opportunity to call whoever you would like. >> So your jacket >> this is >> No, that's okay. The jacket's yours. >> Yeah. Chris, do you mind grabbing that? Yeah, that's right. >> Is there no other pleasant way to do this? Like walking out of the store? >> Unfortunately, no. Cuz uh once you're in our custody, we have to place you in handcuffs in case you try to run away. We've had people run away and cracked our head. So, it's a liability thing. So, we have to detain you like this unfortunately. >> And you guys are walking out of side doors. I'm assuming >> if there is a side door available, I think. However, our cars are parked in the front. They arrested the woman, gave her 12 months probation, and she had to pay $2,500 in restitution. On March 13th, 2023, police in Wesboro, Virginia were dispatched to a local Wendy's. That's where a woman had apparently assaulted an underage coworker and threatened him with a knife. >> You don't want to call? >> Uhuh. That's the manager she had called. >> Okay. Where's the guy at? >> I'm right here. >> Okay. What's going on? >> So, I'm a minor. I'm 16 years old. This >> she like 20. >> She like 20 something. So I'm in a bad booth. I'm taking orders. >> I was arguing. >> Who is this? >> That's my sister. >> She needs to come slow down. >> So I'm telling I'm I'm doing my taking my orders. Next thing you know, she's talking about give me your headset. Go home. I said I'm not clocking out because the mom already told me I don't have a clock out cuz I ain't doing anything wrong. >> Who who told you clock out? >> The manager. >> The man. The other manager in there. >> So I said what is the point of me going home for? She talking about >> calm down >> because I said so. So next thing you know she started talking talking about my mom this and that and I I'm just like this. I'm like do it. She keep saying she going to hit me. So I'm like do it. So she got a fang and she hit me. She was really hitting me with it. So I swung on her. >> Okay. >> And then she chased me with a knife. >> And it was the manager. Her name's what? >> A palace. >> It's the officer's job in this situation to determine who the primary aggressor was. So far, it looked like the manager was the aggressor, and threatening her coworker with a knife meant she was facing very serious charges, including aggravated assault. >> I'm the manager here. Okay. >> And um Timothy, the guy right there, every day I have a problem with him. I told my GM, thank you. I told my general manager not put me on the schedule with him. I don't know what it is about him, but he first of all, he lazy. He don't want to work. He don't want to do nothing. Okay. We've been having problems with the sister where our orders are not showing up on the screen. We've been hella busy. He back there in the hallway. He don't got to talk to nobody. He don't got to bother nobody. He won't even do something as simple as wash the dishes. So I told him, "Let me get your finger before you drop and I'm let you go home." He's sitting up here. He don't want to go home. He don't want to talk out. He telling me he not going to get off the clock until he ready and all this and that. Just basically talk. This going to be going on for days and days and days and days. So I told him, "Bro, just go ahead and talk out and go. You sitting here talking about your mama, you selling your all this. You don't even know me. I'm a grown woman. You are a child and you don't even know me." Okay? So he doing all this talking. I'm walking right here. I'm telling him to talk out. I told him just go ahead and go home. He still don't want to. Make a long story short. We end up physical fighting with each other. My parents who first told the women, >> huh? Were you chasing me with a knife? >> Yes, I would not fall because why are you touching me? Why are you touching me? Nah, I know that's not right, but me when I black out, you know how that go. >> The manager, Michaela, displayed a severe lack of self-awareness. She somehow thought it was okay to threaten Timothy, a 16-year-old employee, with a knife. And because he was a minor and she was responsible for his welfare, she could face another felony under Virginia's cruelty to children laws. >> This is your legal sister, right? You are 16 years old, correct? All right. Fill in all this information for me and write me a statement. What happened? Initial it. You're looking. Initial it and sign it. All right. Statement. What happened? What you told me? Initial it and then sign it. All right. Who got cut? Who's the one who got cut? Okay. Show me. Come here. Let me see. Where did you get cut at? >> You want ambulance? look at it. Uh, >> okay. They're on the way. And we'll just get them to look at you, too, when they get here. Okay. >> Okay. >> Are you okay? Other than that? >> Yeah. >> All right. Since you're doing, >> she's going to, too. >> They'll know. We'll know more about that in about four or five hours. >> Is he going to >> He is a juvenile. >> Yeah. >> So, that's all I can tell you at this point. still have a juvenile complaint done. It's different with Miles, right? But what but what was being told sound like she's the predominant aggressor. >> What did work in Michaela's favor though was that she was completely upfront about what she did. However, working against her was that she continued to be aggressive, even when simply asked to write a statement. >> What else you want me to put on here? >> You You told me that you did swing first and that you did follow him with a knife. Okay, then if you got on your body cam and you ride ahead, >> put your hands behind your back. I'm tired of that. I'm always the one that's getting into some hands behind your back. >> Put your palm together. >> Put your palm together. >> Palms together. >> Yes, sir. >> I'll be calling out to find out more information, >> right? About 5 hours. >> Okay. You got your ID and everything? >> I might get her information and write it down. >> Now if you show your tail now, you have more charges. >> Come on. I'm back. >> Like you got some backing up >> before you have other charges. >> And don't put on the scene in front of everybody. Come on this way. >> Come on. Let me go. Y'all going to lock me up. Come on. Yeah, you going to jail. >> The cops also ensured that she was formally trespassed. While she confessed to her crimes already, the cops also wanted to check the cameras for additional evidence. When it came time to prosecute her, additional evidence would help strengthen their case and there might be new information that wasn't in the statements. >> When do you think I'll be able to have the footage? >> You got it right now. >> Right now. >> Okay. >> I mean, I can't load it on a disc. >> Do you need Do we need to load it onto a disc? >> Yeah, we can. Okay, then I will get it done um Wednesday. >> You can get it done today? >> I need to get it done today. >> I I I kind of need it. >> Okay, then just give me a second. I got to jump in my car. I have to load it. >> What about How about this? How about I come back in about an hour? You going to be here? >> I have it ready about >> An hour will be good for you. >> I have about an hour. >> Okay. She has been barred from the property 100%. That's That's your >> She come up to this property. She What? Okay. As soon as y'all see her, just let me know and let the manager know. And even if y'all had to, y'all phones, call the police cuz I cannot afford nothing else to happen. >> Even inside the squad car, Michaela continued to defend herself and blame the store for what happened, saying the incident was inevitable because the store made them work the same shift. >> What's going on, baby? >> I told you like I told him, there's no way that y'all could be split. You're opposing He's in high school. >> It don't matter. It don't matter. You need to have a meeting with you that you talk about in the meeting with us. >> And I'm still coordinating that meeting. You see, we been short. I'm still trying to get out. I'm just going to book her in on this >> and then once I get charges by the judge, I'll go in. >> You got to got I can't share the information with you. >> I guess >> I'll explain that. You know my do need money or anything. I got you. >> Still put still put the charges on them on the committ at least so they can't have something in the system. >> All right. Well, we about to get ready, right? >> She comes back, she goes to jail. She's already been war. >> He said he'll have ready. >> Okay. >> Michaela was charged with simple battery, aggravated assault, deprivation of sustenance, and firstdegree cruelty to children. Given the body cam footage we have, it's unknown whether Timothy received charges. In these cases, a common theme throughout was a betrayal of trust. Whether it's losing your temper at work or stealing thousands of dollars, these issues all betray the trust given by employers to their employees. When trust is placed in the wrong people, the cops have to get involved and issue consequences.
