Everyone, put your hands up. Everyone, put your hands up. Hands on the front of the seat in front of you. Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. Face the vehicle. >> Did you happen to see anybody with an iron? >> You want me to be honest? >> Yes, ma'am. We did. >> In the car? >> The lady with the car? >> Yes. >> And the car was running with the front door. The driver's seat unlocked. >> Yes, sir. So essentially at any moment anybody could have got in the car and drove off with a brand new car and a child. >> They could have. >> Some parents make reckless choices that put their kids' lives at risk. Whether it's reckless behavior, careless mistakes, or outright disregard for the law, often the cops have to be called. And that's when these young and dumb parents get a reality check from police. On the 13th of August 2024 in Glenn Ellen, Illinois, the cops pulled over a mother who said she was fleeing with her child after a violent fight with her boyfriend. And while she claimed to be protecting her child, her actions said otherwise. Hey Bailey. So, a couple things going on. Okay. One, there's some sort of domestic incident we're trying to look into over at Brier. Two, uh, your registration is like expired and all that stuff. Okay. Um, do you have your driver's license with you? >> Okay. Can I see that? Did you get your leg scratched up? >> No. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you need an ambulance? >> No, I don't need an ambulance. What are you questioning me for? You should be questioning You should be questioning the woman beater with a bunch of felonies over there. The woman, whose name was Bailey, told the cops they should be investigating her boyfriend instead of her. Although he was the one who called police on her, saying she was driving drunk with her kid in the back seat, the woman said she was just running from his abusive behavior. >> Here is physical proof of this man literally beating on me for over the past a year and a half. I have multiple multiple cases like this. You could check at Glenn Ellen PD. You could check Cook County. I don't know exactly Bridge View whether you want to check Oaklan Evergreen Park. I don't know all the different places in the back. >> My baby is in the Oh, do you want to see something else? >> Do you want to see when my baby had a black a nose because of him? >> Ma'am, >> so I don't care if he wants to call the cops because he's a cheater and a woman beater. Ma'am, >> I'm done. >> Ma'am, >> yes. >> Do you want to step on and talk to us so she doesn't listen to all this stuff? >> I mean, do whatever you want to do. I'm trying to get the out of here so I'm not anywhere near this man anymore. I'm not in the wrong. He is in the wrong. >> She was visibly upset, but at least she was cooperating. At that point, she was refusing to take any responsibility, saying that her boyfriend was physically abusive and was driving her insane. >> So, what happened? What What escalated? What escalated? What escalated is that I've been with this man two plus years with him beating on me while he's sitting here being a behind my back. I'm sitting here thinking that, oh, when I'm going to get shipped out in January of next year, I'm going to come home to either this man sleeping with another woman or he's just gone altogether. I find the physical proof and when I confront him about it, it's my fault. It's my fault. Now he wants to, oh, I'm going to call the cops because you want to sit there and put your hands on me. You want to put your hands on me, but when I retaliate, now you want to call the cops. when how many times has this man put his hands on me when I could show you the dates that those pictures were taken? I got pictures going back to 2020. >> She continued painting her boyfriend as being the worst person in the world. And while it might have been true before the cops could investigate, they really needed to know what happened before they pulled them over. >> What happened tonight? >> You found whatever you found. >> I found what I found. And when I sit there and I try to talk to him, he always like just either he shuts me out, he yells at me and tells me to shut the up like it's it's my fault or he gets physical. >> Okay. Were you guys drinking at all? >> No. >> Have you had anything to bring to? >> Nothing at all. >> No. >> Okay. So then you confront him and then what happens? >> So I confront him and he was driving. He's sitting there yelling at me to shut the off. Shut the up. We get over here to my house and he hit me in the face and that's when I started acting the way that I acted. I hit his windshield out because you know what? He did the same [ __ ] to me. He did the same to me. And then I'm sorry. I just know I just I literally just got a little cut on my hand from the back of his windshield and the was kind of like leaking onto my hand. >> How did you break it? My >> my hand with your vape thing? >> No, just my hand. >> I mean, I had the vape in my hand, but my hand I don't know if Yeah, that was literally it. There was no way she broke a car windshield with her bare hands and managed to walk away without any serious injuries. She claimed she'd smashed his windshield because the man had done the same thing to her just a few months ago. >> He put his hands on you. >> Yes. >> Yes, he did. Look. So, this was what? June 26th of this year. This is my three-year-old daughter who's sitting in the back of the car right now. >> He did that to her. >> He did that to her. Did >> you report that? >> I did. He was the one that actually called the cops. Is it okay if she opens up to >> Yeah, you can check her. >> She's okay. She was literally nowhere near it. But this was the last time. The last time. >> And you reported that, you said, right? >> Um, is it okay if I run you through some tests to make sure you're okay to drive? >> Yeah, you could. >> Okay. Do you mind just putting your base on for me? You said you didn't have anything to bring anything any medications or anything? >> No, I'm not on medic. Do you need medics for your >> While the officer continued to search the woman, another cop was busy searching her vehicle. And while she claimed she hadn't been drinking, the cop quickly found in the vehicle and an open bottle of liquor. >> Today, when was this? >> This was before we pulled up into the parking lot of my house where I ended up getting out and I hit his windshield because at that moment I'm thinking, well, you did this me. I spent over $1,500. It was after it was before. Before >> Okay. Before you kicked the screen? >> No. No. So that Yeah. No, it was before I kicked the screen. >> Okay. So before you guys pulled into the Iron Gate parking lot? >> No. Throughout our our entire relationship, I have never been physical with this man. I'm not no dumb. I'm a female. I know my place. I'm not supposed to be sitting there trying to fight a man. >> Where did he hit me in my face? >> Where exactly? >> Like over here on the side. >> I don't know if you can see anything cuz it kind of like grazed me and like kind of like it slid. >> Okay. How did you hit me? >> Close fist. close this punch you like that. >> Okay. You were sitting in the passenger seat. He was sitting in the driver's seat. >> He's done that multiple times. >> Can you demonstrate how he it was kind of just like like shut the up? >> Even though Bailey alleged she'd been hit multiple times and had smashed through a car window with her bare hands, she refused any medical treatment. The officer then administered a series of field sobriety tests. 1. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 100 1 2 1 100 3 100 4 100 5 100 6 100 7 100 8 100 Wait, how many How many do I have to count? I'll tell you to stop. While she did pretty well on the test, the open alcohol in the car told another story. Thankfully, there was only one test left and it could confirm whether she was drunk or not. >> Deep breath and blow continuously until you tell you to stop. >> There you go. >> Have great lungs, man. [laughter] >> I actually I cut back the past two months on the smoking just so I can pass my test for the army. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, you are at a 0.09. Yeah. So, how much did you have to >> I literally only had like three shots and that was from the bottle right there. >> Yeah. When he had first bought bought the bottle. That was like I believe it was around like 7:00. >> 7:00. Where did you >> He bought the bottle? >> Well, I bought the bottle but we stopped at the famous liquors up here and we've been doing like the Ubers all day. It was like 6:30 7:00 sometime around. >> You were just like a little bit. >> Yeah. Know when I take shots out of a bottle because it's a bottle. It's not a full like shot glass. I can't take the full, you know, like amount as a shot. >> Combine that with the fact that she blew a 0.95 and there was only one thing left to do. >> So, right now you're under arrest. Turn around. Put your hand. >> So, what's going to happen with my daughter? Because her family is in Tennessee. >> Her family? >> Her family is in Tennessee. >> So, her dad's side of the family is in Tennessee. No, I before you guys arrest me, I want to find somebody to come and get my daughter. >> I don't want that. >> No, no, no. You do not trust it. I do not trust it. >> I do not trust it. I do not trust you. >> I've been in the system. I want to call my mother. >> Okay. We can do that for you. So, you can open up my phone right now. You can open >> my phone right now and you can call my mother. >> We're going to work with you. Okay. We want >> I'll wait right here. >> You got to sit down. >> Okay. Well, I'm keeping I'll exit out the car. So, you can't shut the door because I'm not going nowhere until I know that my daughter >> No, I don't trust my child with you guys. I don't I'm going to tell you right now I don't trust my child with you guys. >> You were driving while you were intoxicated with your child. Okay. >> I'm not intoxicated. >> You are under the influence of alcohol. >> I don't care what your laws are. Your laws are stupid. You got more restrictions on when alcohol people on the street more than marijuana. Let's be for real. Very true. It is very true. It is very true. Bailey was charged with domestic battery, driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal damage to property under $300, possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle, illegally transporting alcohol by a driver, a window tent violation, using unsafe tires, and driving without insurance. On the 1st of June 2025, the cops were dispatched to a roadside after a woman called police saying she was in a heated argument with her granddaughter and needed assistance. >> You disrespectful. No, you disrespectful. YOU THINK YOU THINK you think you can talk to people however you want. No, you can't. I'mma smack your TO SEE. LOOK, you see how the west grandma? >> That's not my grandma. I don't know who the I'm ready to go home. You going to take me and my daughter home or what? >> Where do you live? >> Right there in River West. >> I can take you to River West if I absolutely can. >> If that will resolve this, then I will happily >> I think it will. I don't know. She just always says something. >> Who do you stay in River West with? >> Her ugly. I'm going to move and get my own apartment. >> Right off the bat, the cop offered a solution that would end the fight. All the young woman had to do was get in his cruiser and he would gladly take her down the road to her place. And even though the cop extended a helping hand to her, she couldn't help but be rude to him. >> So, who is she to you? >> Nobody. I don't know who she is. >> Well, obviously you live with her, so >> I don't know who she is. Like I said, >> okay. If you're not going to be cooperative with me, help me out here. I'm not going to be cooperative with you. >> Okay. Don't be cooperative with You don't have to stand right here. Nobody asked you to. >> Okay. Then by all means when you get down to River West, pack your [ __ ] get out. >> That's not a gonna >> then that's not a problem then. >> Okay. It's not a problem. >> Then we saw that. >> You help me. >> Number one. >> Oh, number one. >> You watch your mouth with me. >> That's what I thought. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. Don't Don't say nothing about me packing up if you're not going to help me. >> I got no reason to help. >> So don't tell me what you want. >> You're going over here running your mouth. >> Sorry for 23. >> Okay. >> I didn't touch her. But she better be lucky I didn't touch her. >> Go ahead. You can go to county and your go to DCFS. Which one you want? >> That's why I didn't touch her. >> Right. SO SHUT DOWN SAY I'M SHUTTING UP. >> Thank you. >> Stop saying too. >> Thank you. >> Her attitude should not have been surprising. If she talked about her grandmother like that, it was no shock at all that she had no respect for law enforcement. However, despite her disrespectful behavior, the officer still tried to work with her. >> Talk about Leah like a dog. And Leah came to come back over the address on she >> I'm trying to help you. I'm going to give you a ride over there. You can yell at me. >> What's your address? Or you can walk. >> I will walk. >> Okay, go ahead. >> Y'all don't understand. >> Grab your stuff. Let's go. >> Why are you saying stuff to me? >> Grab Because I'm here because you're acting up. That's why I'm here. >> Cuz y'all are pissing me off. >> Look, she telling me to calm down. You calm down. >> Put your stuff in the bag and let's go. >> Because I'm tired of you. All you DO IS TALK. >> SHUT UP. >> ALL YOU DO IS TALK. >> Shut up. >> All you do is talk. >> All you do is talk. Don't you overdo it. All right. >> DO NOT GRAB ME. DO NOT GRAB. I'm not >> I'm about to throw you in handcuff. Knock it off. Grab your bag and let's go. >> This woman was really pushing her luck. The cops here were being more than patient with her and she should have been grateful they intervened and even offered to take her home. Somehow though, it was just too much to ask. >> Walk. >> Can I get my daughter? >> That's your daughter. OKAY. >> STOP ME IN MY FACE. WHAT THE >> You need to learn your unlock. >> I don't have to learn. I'm tired of these people. What the No, you over. >> Okay, put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands Put your hands behind your back. >> I didn't do nothing to you. I DIDN'T DO NOTHING TO get in here. >> Everything on me because your hands behind your back. >> You're the one that You're the one to put yourself in this position. You grab my hand, you slam a door into me. We're not playing this game. You're going to jail. >> I put it in you. >> Hey, I'll walk across the way. >> Come on. We're going to my car. >> The officer was right. As far as this predicament went, she had nobody to blame but herself. As she cried like a spoiled toddler, she was escorted across the street where she was searched and then placed in a squad car. >> Hit her though. >> She didn't call. >> Yes, she did. caused this. Yes, she don't know HOW SHE >> WHAT CAUSED THIS WAS YOU ACTING up and throwing a door into me. >> You could have just walked out like an adult. Said you >> now you get to go to jail. >> What are you doing? >> Praise God. >> You're acting more immature than your child. >> I don't care. Damn. She didn't have to say to me. When is they coming? >> I don't know. I called for them. They're on their way. >> To get fresh air. It's hot here. >> I'll roll your window down. >> Is that better? As she couldn't take her child to jail with her, grandma stepped in and offered to help. Unfortunately for the officer, as they waited for the transport vehicle to take her to jail, he had to listen to the suspect kicking and clawing at his back seat. >> Oh my god. What am I leaving? So, I can just hurry up and do my time. >> Whenever the transport wagon gets here, >> they are on their way. You need to be patient. >> Like, why can I have to be all in my personal space? >> We're having a meltdown. We're having a meltdown. >> No, we're going to go meet him. We're going to go meet him at the police department. >> So, it's quicker. >> The cop was so desperate to get away from her as quickly as possible that he offered to meet the transport vehicle halfway. All he had to do now was hand her off and she'd be out of his hair for good. for me. You got anything? First off, >> they charged the woman with resisting arrest. And if you thought she had a bad attitude, just wait till you get a load of our next suspect. On the 4th of December, 2024 in Libertyville, the cops were dispatched to a hospital after a mother who'd been trespassed for causing a scene was still refusing to leave. >> Allowed here. They've they've asked you to leave. If you want, we can bring you out in handcuffs and charge you with trespassing. Leave the baby here. Or you can come outside and talk to me. We can be civil. We can work this out and then we can handle it out there. Okay. >> I'm not sure. We can bring >> I just told you. >> For what reason? >> I just told you. >> Then can I get my phone? >> I will get it before we leave. Grab the bag. Get outside now. >> Yeah, I know. I'm leaving. There's no reason why I can't be here. Yeah, I know. >> Grab the bag. Let's go. Or I'm going to grab it. >> For what reason? >> I just told you. They asked you to leave. You're trespassing. Grab the bag. >> You're going to cause problem. >> There's no reason why I can't be. >> I just told you. >> No, I don't want to leave. There's >> I don't care if you want to leave. That's not how this works. Grab the bag. Push the baby. >> Stop causing problems. >> Go. >> For what reason? I >> I'm grabbing it and I'll push the baby. >> The cop here was not playing around. What the mother didn't understand was anyone's guess. They trespassed the woman whose name was Lexi and she was now being told to leave. There was nothing confusing about it. >> Why can't I BE HERE? NO, I'M NOT LEAVING. I'M NOT LEAVING. Give me my phone. You know I'm not leaving. Stop causing problems. No. >> Private property. They don't leave my phone. >> You Hey, you touch them. It's battery and I'm taking you out outside. I told you now. I >> No, I'm not leaving. >> YES, YOU ARE. >> NO. WHY? GO. >> NO. NO. WHY CAN'T I be your No, I'm not leaving then. I'm not leaving. No, I want my phone then. >> Do you want to leave it handcuffed? >> No, I'm not. Why can't I be here? >> I just told you. >> There's no reason. He doesn't even have a >> Stop acting like this. >> I'm I don't want to leave. >> You're leaving. You're not going back in there. >> No. >> Yes. >> No. There's no reason why I can't be here. >> Yes, there is. >> No, there's not. >> No, there's not. >> Stay out here. You come in there. I swear you're going out handcuffs. At that point, it wasn't clear why she was at the hospital or why she was refusing to leave. But she definitely wasn't there to get treatment. And all she had to do was step outside and leave, and she'd be free to go about her business. >> I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE. NO. >> WHY DON'T you want to leave? >> BECAUSE WHY DON'T YOU WANT I'M NOT LEAVING. There's no reason. >> Why? >> Why can't I be here? >> Why do you want to stay? >> Why? Because I can't. >> No, YOU CAN'T. >> NO, I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE. >> You are leaving. >> No, I don't want to. Then go say something. I can be here if I want. >> I just talked to him and he said no. He said no. He said no. They said no. >> I DON'T CARE. >> NO, I'M not leaving. >> Stop. >> I want to speak to your supervisor then. >> Okay, let's go outside and you talk to >> No, I want to stay right here. I want to stay here. >> Hey, your options right now are leave pushing your child and go home or I take you in handcuffs and then mom picks up the baby. >> Can I speak to your supervisor? >> Sure. You're definitely going to be able to speak to him if you don't go outside and you come off now. >> Yeah. One thing people often fail to understand is that a business, including a hospital, has the right to ask you to leave for whatever reason. Initially, the security staff asked her to leave. And when Lexi refused, they called the cops. >> Hey, this is a private business. If they don't want you here, you can't stay here. That's how that goes. They're asking you to leave. Let's go. >> I don't want >> I don't care what you want. You can. And you're walking outside. >> Why can't I just stay here? I'm his mom. >> I don't care what his mom says. >> Lexi, do you understand that if you get arrested, there's going to be a DCF? I'm not trying to call DCFS. I'm trying to walk you out. Why don't you be a grown up, push your stroller, and walk out. You're not staying here. Regardless of how much you want to stay here, you're not staying here. I'm recording you, too. >> That's fine. You can >> right here number 42. Take a picture if I want. >> Perfect. Yes, you can. You're also walking out. >> There's no I want to know the specific reason. >> Don't want you here. They don't need a specific reason. >> Does not want you here. >> Yeah, but it's going to be fine an hour later and tell me to come back. >> Doesn't matter. >> You're not allowed back. >> You're not allowed here. No way. Your action period. >> What action. When he was sitting in the room and screaming at me and spitting on me. So did you? >> Yeah, I was mad and raised my voice. Sorry, that's a problem. >> So then you come out here and you start raising your voice again. So you have to leave. >> What if she says I can come back later? No, >> doesn't matter. >> Why? >> Cuz now that's our decision. >> The cops here were being more than patient, but by that point they were just wasting their breath. If she wasn't going to comply soon, they were going to handcuff the woman and drag her off the premises. >> I'll leave him if I can talk to him. >> No, you're not talking to him. Call him. >> Give me my phone. I want my phone. >> Call him. >> Give me my phone. >> He needs his phone before you can call. No, I want my phone. >> Lexi, you're not >> I don't want to leave. >> I don't care. You're leaving. >> I can't say one thing. >> Why? >> Cuz I said so. Let's go. >> I don't You don't understand. What did I do? >> The time for you to say something to him is over. We're done. Go now. >> I don't want to. >> I don't care. Be a grown-up. Push your baby outside. >> I can't say one thing. >> No. Why? >> Because they don't want you here. You're disturbing other patients. Look how many people you have here. >> Yeah. >> So I can get the talk to >> I'm We're working on it. >> Oh. I want to speak to the supervisor. Listen, criminal trespass with the new law makes it a little bit tougher. She gets a ticket. I can't take her anywhere I want to, unless it's multiple offenses. I'm working on it. Thank you. >> Lexi was absolutely hysterical. Sick and tired of going back and forth with her, the cops started pushing her baby stroller toward the accident, but it only made her more unhinged. >> No, I don't want to go. >> PUSH THE STOP. STOP TOUCHING HER. >> STOP. >> I DON'T WANT TO GO. I DON'T CARE. >> I WANT TO [screaming] GO. I WANT TO STAY. THERE'S NO REASON I can't stay. [screaming] >> No, too late. [screaming] >> Stop. >> You made a decision. >> Stand by. Oh my god. DON'T TOUCH MY DAUGHTER. >> STOP. STOP. >> STOP TOUCHING ME. >> STOP. >> You are now under a decision. You are under arrest. >> Okay. You are UNDER ARREST. >> DON'T TOUCH MY DAUGHTER. >> LEXI, STOP. >> Stop touching me. >> I'M TRYING TO DOUBLE I'M DOUBLE locking the handcuff so it doesn't tighten on your wrist. Knock it off. Relax. Lexi pay. >> No, it's too late. >> WALK INTO THE CAR. >> NO, YOU HAD THAT CHOICE. >> WELL, that was just absolutely insane. And just think about it. All she had to do was walk out of the building. With Lexi now in handcuffs, she was escorted out of the hospital and over to a cruiser. >> Take a deep breath. >> Stephen, no. I can't leave without my daughter. >> I can't leave. No, stop touching me. I want my daughter. >> The daughter's coming. My buddy's bringing her. >> Stop touching me. >> Give me my daughter. You need to let go of me. >> No. >> Where is she? I don't see her. >> She's coming. >> I DON'T SEE MY DAUGHTER. I don't see her. Give her to me. Give her to me now. Give her to me. Give her to me. Give her to me. I need >> Stop reaching. You're not reaching for anything. >> No. Give me to her now. GIVE ME MY DAUGHTER. Give her to me now. Give me my daughter now. Give her to me. Give me my daughter. I need to call my mom. >> You're calling her when we get to the station. >> Then where's my daughter going? >> She's coming with us. >> You don't even have a car seat. >> You have a car seat? >> Yeah. Can I take my car? >> For the officer, it must have seemed like the longest walk ever. With Lexi, it was just one demand after another. Throughout the entire walk down the corridor, she couldn't stop playing the victim. Thankfully, they were getting close to the exit. >> Can I call my mom? >> No, you can't. >> My daughter. I need to call my mom. >> I can't You can't tell my daughter about me. I need my daughter now. I need to call my mom. I'm not leaving until you see my daughter. >> You're leaving? >> No. I need my daughter. >> Lexi, you're leaving. >> Okay, then I pull her out in the car. I need my daughter. You can't take her. I need my daughter now. No. Don't touch my phone. You can't be. Just take me in the car. I'm already pissed off. Just take me. >> I don't care if you're pissed off. >> Daughter. I need to call my mom. >> Listen. Listen. Your daughter. >> No. I need you to call my mom. >> We'll let you call your mom. No. >> I need to call my mom. I need to go right now. Where is he going? I need to >> my mom. My mom now. I don't have anything. >> I don't care. This is what we have to do. >> I need to call my mom. >> I need to call my mom. Please. Please. I need to call my mom. I need to call my mom. Please. These hurt. I can't. Lexi was charged with criminal trespass and resisting or obstructing a peace officer. And while Lex's behavior was completely unhinged, at least she didn't put her baby's life in danger like our next suspect. On May the 3rd, 2021, the cops were dispatched to the parking lot of a public's grocery store. According to reports, a mother had left her child in a vehicle for an extended amount of time. >> No, she's totally fine. >> Okay. She wasn't crying whenever I came out. She's >> I just wanted to ask to make sure. >> Yeah, she's okay. I know she's fine. >> All right. Would you mind? Would you mind? Hey, >> I mean, please open the door. I did check on her. >> Would you mind just sitting by my car? >> Yes. >> Um, so, so what happened? So, what did you see? >> So, I the car is very loud. So, I took notice of the car. I went in, I did my shopping, I came back out, and when I was coming this way, I noticed there was movement in the car. And I'm looking and I'm like there's baby in the car. >> How much time had passed between >> I had gone in done some shopping. My alarm went off something like that. I was in there at least 15 minutes. She read a book. Um came back out, noticed the baby in the car and then I was I loo tried to look in the cart enough to see if there was anybody else in the car and then I got the people from Publix over here. They went in and got their manager and then their manager so I mean it's been a while. >> The question was just how long had the child been unattended in the vehicle. During the summer in some states even a few minutes inside a vehicle can be fatal. According to witnesses the child had been left in the vehicle for at least 30 minutes. >> Worst thing is when she came out she was all happy and excited and like like you know hi everything's fine. >> Yeah. >> And it's like do you do that at a bar too? Do you, you know, do this often? I'm like, this is the concern area of the world. You don't leave your child in a car. >> I understand your concern. So, how long do you think you were shopping for? >> I I wasn't even in there for more than 5 minutes. Like, it really was not that long. I watched her come out. Like, I literally watched that lady come out and then I ran in and I just got a handful of things. Like, I wasn't I was not in there that long. >> Like 5 minutes like your best guess you're thinking? >> I had like five to seven. Like, not more than not close to 10. I don't even think like it was not that long. So that's why like I genuinely didn't believe anything was going to happen, but I also didn't know that it was against the law. So >> as the officer talked to store employees, he told the mother to sit tight. Surprisingly, the employees had some information about the woman that he definitely needed to hear. >> Um I don't know how long the baby was in there or not. One of our associates was one that called. >> Okay. >> Um but just FYI, she actually knows the girl and said that there's potentially a DCF case open already on her. >> Okay. So that might be something. >> If you had to guess what that was had to do with, what do you think that was? >> Um, all I know is that it's most likely like her baby daddy's family is like coming out to get them. So she can't like post anything that has to do with the baby. So >> Okay. >> You know, >> but we can we have cameras, so maybe we can give you a timeline of how long. >> That would be helpful. Yeah, cuz I was given two very different times. >> Yeah, my assistant's in there right now. I'll go get with him and I'll get a time. >> Yeah, roughly what time she went and what time she came out. Yeah, >> absolutely. >> The employees reviewed the security footage and determined that the woman had left her vehicle at about 4:17 and returned around 4:26, meaning she'd left the child unattended for about 9 minutes. >> Time do you think the whole thing took? >> At most like maybe at most maybe 10 minutes. And that's like really like I wouldn't say anything more than that. And it's like I was thinking less than 10, but it's like I'm saying maybe 10 just like with waiting like waiting for a spot and stuff. >> What would you guess would be a reasonable amount of time if you had to leave your kid alone in the parking lot like that? What do you think would be a right amount of time? >> I try and like I would like want it to be like at least like not less than 10 like five at most, you know? Like nothing like really quick in and out. You understand the vulnerability of I understand the car is locked. If I can tell you right now, if that car was locked and I want to get inside, I'd be inside that car in less than 10 seconds. >> And that's why I know Yeah. I mean, if anybody wanted to take her, of course. Yeah. They would have they would have if with it being locked, they would have found a way 100%. But it was locked and the air condition was on. So, I did try and make sure it was as safe as possible. All right. But you understand why someone driving by would be concerned. >> 100%. >> Okay. >> I 100%. That's why whenever she was talking to me, I mean, you saw she's going to be very aggressive and I able to argue with her cuz I understood where she was coming from. I totally get it. >> It turned out she was being truthful about how long she'd been in there, but that didn't mean she was telling the truth about everything. And after a few more questions, the woman's story began to unravel. So there the key was turning the ignition and you had your own backup key. >> I don't have a backup key. >> So how were you to unlock it? >> This this door doesn't lock. My front door actually doesn't lock. This one. >> So if you Is it broken? >> It's a little messed up. >> Yes. >> So there there's not an option to lock the front door. >> Not this one, but the rest of them do. >> All right. So, me painting this whole picture together, just to be clear, she was in a car and the car was running with the front door, the driver's seat unlocked. >> Yes, sir. >> So, essentially, at any moment, anybody could have got in the car and drove off with a brand new car and a child. >> They could have. >> But for all we knew, maybe they just wanted the car and not even realize that she's in the back seat. >> That's happened before. >> Yeah. >> I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be emotional. >> You just You understand the picture I'm painting to have? How this could have resulted 100%. >> In other words, the initial story she told was completely false. She'd left her baby in a totally unacceptable and completely vulnerable situation. As a result, there was only one thing left for the officer to do. >> I need you to put your hands on your back. >> Okay. My phone's going to die. >> We'll figure that out. We'll figure that out. All right. Do you have anything on you besides your phone? Is there anything sharp on you? >> No, sir. Only my phone's on me. Oh, well, my earrings, of course, but that's it. >> Okay. All right. Who can take care of her if you come with us? >> My fiance can come home from my fiance will have to come from work. Like, I don't have anybody except for him. >> All right. I need you to come back this way. Okay. Would you mind just sitting with um with her? All right. All right. I just need you to lean up against the back of the vehicle here. All right. I'm going to get the AC moving back here. So, it may be hot right now, but it's not going to be in a second. Okay. >> I don't know his number by heart. So, >> is it in your phone? >> It is, but it's on 2%. So, if you want me to unlock it, you can write it down real quick. >> No, it's Let's put a minimum. >> Sorry. >> That's it right there. >> Yes. All right, just sit tight real quick. >> With the woman secured in the back of a squad car, the officer got ready to take her to jail. But first, he had to get in touch with her fiance, break the bad news to him, then ask the man to come and pick up their child. >> Hi, this is Deputy Summers of Fire County Sheriff's Office. >> Hi there. I believe I'm here with your fiance. Um, I'm sorry, sir. Can I get your name? This is uh Summers Fire County Sheriff's Office. I'm calling in reference to somebody we arrested moments ago and she has a child with her and this is the number I was given to contact about who may be able to pick up the child. Uh the reason we arrived was because the child was left unattended in the vehicle. Um after reviewing the footage for the store, it was determined that Uh, she was going to be charged with child neglect. It is. We're here with the car and we're here with the little one. I'm sorry. No, we're at Publix. Uh, it's going to be by Belter and Post Parkway. 5 minutes. Okay, then. All right. What' you ask? She's doing fine. Yeah. Yeah, she was crying for a second, but she's she's happy. Your fiance? I just spoke to him. >> Yeah, that was him. He said he's gonna be here in five minutes. All right, no problem. >> They charged the woman with child neglect. As for sentencing, she was given 18 months of pre-trial intervention and also had to comply with the Department of Children and Families case plan as well as a parenting plan that was mandated by the court. On the 20th of October 2023, the cops were dispatched to an intersection after anonymous reports that a woman was driving drunk with three toddlers in her vehicle. >> Hi, how's it going? My name's Officer Police Department. The reason I'm pulling you over, saw your license plate, there's dirt, you can't read the last three of them. >> Yeah, I know. >> I was going to spot them. >> Yeah, I got pulled over. I need you to hang on the phone, please. >> Okay. Do you do you have an ID on you? And then if you have insurance, I'll take that, too. >> Um, my mom says she has a copy of my insurance. >> Okay. Just have just have her send you that. >> Can I please speak? >> Okay. Go ahead. >> I had my car searched by Police Department and when that happened, they lost my insurance, >> okay, >> copy. And I've asked my mom to please send me a copy of it. >> Okay. >> But she has not been able to do that since then. >> She has a copy of it and she can she can send it. Yeah, that's perfect. Just have her text to you, okay? And then I'll take your in your driver's license. >> Some people are just incredibly rude. While the officer told the woman that he pulled her over due to her license plate being obscured, it was really the least of his concerns. What he was far more concerned about was the anonymous tip he'd gotten that she might be driving drunk with three kids in the back seat. You >> mind stepping up for me real quick? Just so we can talk back here. Okay. So, we had a caller say that you've been drinking and then you got in your car and then you've been drinking. >> Okay. Is that true at all? And you've been drinking today. >> Mom. >> So, I'm going to be honest. I can see it in your eyes. Okay. Your eyes are are foggy. >> Mom, can I talk to my mom before I talk to you? >> I'd rather you ask answer my questions right now while I'm trying to talk to you. Okay. We can talk to mom later. >> Yes, I was. You were drinking? >> Yes, because I was going to take my kids trick-or-treating and I was nervous and I didn't want to. >> Okay. >> And instead, I hung out with my friend Eva. >> What? How much did you drink? >> I didn't drink that much. >> How much is not that much? >> Like a half a pint. >> What? >> But it's above the legal limit. So, I'm going to get my third DUI, Mom. >> As far as these people go, it should be three strikes and you're out. These serial drunk drivers need to be taken off the road. This woman was a menace to the public and in this case to her own children. While the officer told her to put her phone away, she instead put it in her pocket and continue speaking to him. >> Okay. When did you stop drinking? >> Like an hour ago. >> Like an hour ago. And you had you said you had half a pint. >> Yeah. >> But it was over the course of two hours. >> What What was it that you were drinking? >> Amsterdam. >> The vodka. What are you talking about? I was going to visit a friend >> who was going to go with me to my kids trick-or- treat school party. >> I was drinking at home at first. >> The woman begged the officer to let her go, saying her house was just around the corner. However, there was about a 0% chance he was going to let her go. Next, the woman agreed to do a series of field sobriety tests to try and prove she wasn't drunk. Go ahead and follow. Just hit my finger. Okay. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 10012 >> 10034 6 in off a little bit higher >> 10006 2000 I can like I literally can >> Okay, >> does it it just affect your balance? >> It does. It really does. And that's not fair. >> It's really not fair because I'm deaf. >> Okay. Do you want to try it again or are you done? >> I am going to try it again. >> Okay. 100,00 1,002 100,005 1006 10078 10090 10123 >> although she thought she did exceptionally well to anyone with eyeballs it was exactly the opposite as a result she was placed under arrest for her third DUI >> so you're going to be arrested okay for DUI Okay. Drinking under the influence. Driving under the influence. Sorry. Go ahead and I'll I'm just going to take this and put it on the ground. >> Where did I tell? >> Uh the first actually all three of them. >> All three of them. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have anything else on you? >> I'm asking how did I get all three of you? >> I can explain to you later. Right. >> That's fine. Can I have any real >> right now? Would you like to show them >> right now? We're going to take a seat and then we can go from there. Okay. >> Can I please tell my kid it'll be okay? >> Well, we're just going to take a seat for right now. >> I don't want to traumatize them. >> Okay. Okay. Please >> just take a seat. >> Can I please tell my kids it'll be okay? >> Just Just give me a second. >> With a woman secured in a squad car, the cops then had to work with the woman to find her temporary guardian. In situations like this one, if a guardian's not available, the kids would be placed with child services. >> What do you want to do with the kids? Can I please call someone? >> Stay in there. >> Can I please call someone? Can I please tell them it's going to be okay? >> Stop. Stop yelling. >> They're freaking out. Am I not supposed to freak out? >> Trying to figure something out where they're supposed to go. >> I don't know. >> Friend that they used to stay with. Can we call her? >> We are not in no good terms right now. >> What about your mom? >> She lives in Iowa, so I have to call their grandma. >> Can I please have my phone? I don't know her name. >> Mom. Hello. Hello. >> Yeah, I am under arrest. Um, I supposedly failed all of the tests. I don't know why. I tried to tell them that I'm deaf. I tried to tell them that I can't balance. Well, they didn't. I don't know. I didn't think I didn't think that I failed. >> But according to them, I failed. And they're telling me that there is a possibility of doing I'm sorry, what did you say? >> No. So, if you just cooperate and we go down to the PD, like we would give you like an NTA and everything like that, more than likely we just got to figure out. >> Can you explain this to my mom? >> Yeah. Can we can we just verify though for the kids really quick because we got to find somewhere for the kids to go. >> The woman's emotions were getting the best of her as undoubtedly it was a stressful situation. However, instead of helping the cops find a suitable guardian, she kept on crying and playing the victim and was stressing her kids out. Before too long, one of the cops decided to give her a reality check. They don't want to go. >> They don't want to go where they >> You're freaking your kids out. >> No, they don't want to go where they >> They're the ones driving drunking kids in the bus. >> Excuse me, I'm not drunk. >> You're putting their life in jeopardy. >> I am not drunk. >> I need you to at least stop screaming. >> Excuse me, I'm not drunk. >> Okay, I can smell it on your >> Great. Maybe I spilled it on my clothes. >> Okay, >> maybe that's what that spill is. >> I've never drank and drove my >> So, excuse me. Okay. So, you need to grow up and be here for your kids. >> Excuse me. >> We're trying to figure out a way. >> Being a mom. >> Okay, that's fine. >> And I do everything I can for them. >> Okay, we need to figure out a solution to bring them somewhere. >> I don't mean tell me to shut up and be quiet when I'm trying >> cuz you're screaming and you're freaking them out. Do you hear them? because they're not going to go with Sarah, the woman that >> we can just call DCFS and the DCFS >> DCFS don't know that Sarah beat them, >> which is the foster mom who took them the last time. >> You can call DCFS if you're not going to find out. That's the solution. >> My mom is going to figure it out. >> For this woman, it was everyone else's fault but hers. She took no responsibility for her actions, whether it was driving her kids around town while drunk or making them break into tears due to her constant screaming. >> What did my dog say? She's going to head down here. >> So, the kids are going to head down to the PD and and wait with somebody till she she said she's going to head this way and but take her about two hours. So, the kids are going to wait at the PD with an officer most likely or or with the social worker or something until um your mom can get. >> Okay. You want to step out for me? Nope. I hold it. Just keep blowing. Blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow blow >> okay you're good you go ahead and take a seat >> I can't know you just got to take a seat I'll show you okay it gets printed off so just take a seat and I'll let you know what it is because your children were in the car it's also going to be endangering the life of the child and it depends how many times you've gotten convicted of it if you've gotten convicted of that at all >> to endanger the that or help the child. >> Okay, >> we'll we'll we'll figure it out and I'll let you know everything that goes on. I'm not going to leave you in the dark and anything. >> Okay. Okay. So, you can take a seat. So, all I have to do is work on paperwork. Um and then I'll get you out of here. Okay. >> What was my >> It was.169. That's over twice the legal limit. They charged the woman with driving under the influence, endangering the life of a child, failing to properly secure a child under 8, improperly displayed license plates, and illegal transportation of alcohol. On September 22nd, 2024, in Flaggler County, Florida, the cops tried to pull a driver over on I95. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated to 110 m an hour, cutting through traffic, passing cars on the shoulder, and endangering several lives, including his pregnant fiance's. Everyone, put your hands up. Everyone, put your hands up. Hands on the front of the seat in front of you. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Face the vehicle. There's little. >> Do not move. >> Sorry. >> I do not care. >> Call my mom, please. >> 13 once in occupied by four females. >> The driver was extremely apologetic and as well he should be. He took the cops on a high-speed chase, recklessly endangering his own life, his passengers lives, and everyone else on the road. >> Can you roll this window down? Perfect. >> I love you, Kirsten. I'm sorry. >> Should have never came on this trip. >> How old are you? 18. >> 37. >> 37. >> How old are you? >> These three are my children. >> Who are your children? >> These two are your children. >> I'm going to talk to him with them. >> For some reason, there's a 37y old in the back seat and say, >> "Yep, you heard that right. The 37-year-old woman in the back seat was the mother of the three girls. The driver here was desperate to talk to the cop in private and eventually had the chance to do so. >> So, what were you trying to tell me? >> So, she the one in the passenger seat. >> Can you stand by then? Those four. >> That's my fiance. >> I just proposed to her the other night. >> Okay. >> She's pregnant. Let's find out. But the thing is, >> it's a lot. But I'm on probation. >> Okay. >> I'm not supposed to be in this county. Okay. >> From Pulk County. We were going through a lot of stuff. We were on the way back from her. I think they call her Mimi or something. >> Okay. Is felony or misdemeanor? >> Uh they were felonies, but I was I was 16 and I got literally 3 weeks and I'm off. I've been on for two two two years. I'm about to get off. It's either two years or five years in jail. >> So you saw you saw me right in the median. Yes, sir. >> Pass me at 106. >> No, I was we were >> pass me at 106. Yes, sir. >> You saw me pull out of the medium. >> Uh I did not see you pull out. That's why I got over to slow down behind the semi cuz I was hoping you did not come out >> and then you saw me pull out. >> Yes, sir. And I started to freak out and I I I it went black. >> I'm going to tell you right now, don't me. >> You never one slow down. You continue to drive at 106 mph. You saw me pull out. You accelerated. You then passed and semi on the shoulder. >> Yes, sir. I >> You saw my lights turn on, right? >> No. No, sir. I swear to God, >> you never saw my lights turn on. >> So when you continued past a semi active emergency lights, people start moving out of the way and got behind you. You continue to flee at over 110 mph. You then took the exit, but I'm like still on behind you at a high rate of speed. >> Ridiculous excuse. Bizarrely claiming that he blacked out while speeding away from the officer. But as the suspect was dealing with a nononsense cop, he was going to have to come up with something better than that one. So, at what point you see my lights >> on the on the on this exit right here is when I seen them and I was like, that's the first time you saw my lights. >> Yes, sir. I swear. >> So, you were cutting up cutting vehicles off on all the roadway. No turn signal at over 110 for no reason. >> I No, I swear to God, we were not doing 110. I have not hit 110 all day. We were doing 106. You are right about that. I did slow down when we were coming up beside you cuz I was like, "Oh my god, Kirsten, I'm on probation. We [snorts] have been going." No, sir. We were still doing 90. I swear to God, I I >> So, you pass semi on the shoulder. >> I I'm I'm going to jail. I do realize that. I am going to jail. I do realize that, but I just I She just found out she was pregnant. I was just getting on probation. We're getting the house and I got 5 years on the line. I should have never came here. >> And when you get probation, >> officer, >> when you get off probation, supposed to get off >> in 3 weeks. I just got all my paperwork done, signed everything. I'm supposed to be >> You know what's crazy? If you would have stopped and I would have pulled you over, >> I understand that. >> You might not even have gotten a ticket and if you were getting off in 3 weeks, I probably wouldn't even have violation. >> But sir, I realize that she's pregnant. We just got married. We've been going through a lot. >> Just got married just a minute ago. He said he'd only proposed to her yesterday. Either way, the man's story was full of lies. Next up, the officer asked about the passengers. >> Who's this lady in the back? This 37year-old. >> That is her mother. What were they all saying? >> That they were sleeping. >> They were not sleeping. >> Yes, I swear to God, all of them, but the middle one, she is autistic. She was She was the only one awake. The boy over here on this side on the passenger side, he was sleeping. The mom was sleeping cuz she works nights at the hospital. >> Can I talk to you, ma'am, if you sit out? >> And the weapons on you? >> Okay. Do you have ID with you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Can you explain to me what just happened? I was asleep in the back car seat of the car. >> Okay. >> When I woke up, I asked what was going on. He said, >> "What did you see when you woke up?" >> He was driving fast. I mean, I knew we were driving fast and he was getting off the exit. >> Was what he what he said was going on? >> At what point did he say that? >> When we were getting off the exit. >> Okay. >> I told him he need to pull over. >> You told him to pull over? >> Yes, I did. >> What was he saying before he pulled over? >> He was scared. and said, "I'm going to go to jail." >> And he So, you pull over. So, you told him to pull over? >> No, he was already planning to pull over, I think, when he got off the exit. I mean, I don't know if he >> So, where on the road did you wake up? >> I don't know. Right before the exit. >> Okay. So, you didn't feel yourself passing on the shoulder, hitting rumble strips, going 110 mph on the shoulder, passing a semi. That didn't wake you up. >> It was hard to believe she could sleep through a high-speed chase with lights flashing and sirens blaring. The officer here didn't believe a word of it and began to question her judgment as a mother. >> Are you aware that he was fleeing from me? >> I was not. >> With your three kids in the car, >> one of which is pregnant. >> He's about for you, man. >> So, you're 18, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Give me a second. Come over here. Can you explain me what just happened? He was going fast and he saw the cop and he freaked out because he's already gotten in trouble before and he doesn't want to go to jail. >> And he freaked out and did what? [snorts] >> Freaked out and kept driving even though he knew you were coming. >> So you saw me coming as well? That was me at the cop. That was me. So you saw me coming as well? >> I didn't see you. He said you were coming. I didn't see >> At what point did he say that I'm coming? were on the roadway before after he passed the semi. >> What semi? >> The one when you guys went in the shoulder and passed. >> I'm pretty sure. >> I don't I didn't see you. >> Okay. So, what made him actually pull over finally? >> Is that what he said or? >> Yeah, he knows that. >> Okay. >> We have a baby on the way. >> Yeah. No, he's about to You have no warrants, right? >> On the driver's part, it was a ridiculous move. As the officer said, if he had just complied and pulled over, he might have just gotten a speeding ticket, but he was now looking at jail time away from his fiance and his future baby. >> He passing on the shoulder. >> So, he passed me at 106. >> Oh. >> I go to pull out, sees me. >> Yeah. >> Accelerates. I'm like, "Oh, you're speeding or what?" So, I start going and then I'm trying to catch up and then he I see him pass somebody on the shoulder. I start my lights on. So, I'm like, "All right, I need to catch up now." And then we're coming and then he starts keep going all across the roadway, passing cars, cutting them off. Then I'm like, "All right, he's fleeing." So, I cut my lights off and I call he's fleeing and I start he starts getting off here and then I see him um start pulling over. That's why I turn my lights back on. I guess he realized he wasn't getting my way. What if you would have crashed and killed those three two kids in the back and your unborn baby and your fiance me? I blacked out. Wasn't thinking. >> That's a poor excuse. >> Yes, sir. >> You don't black out when you see a cop. They arrested the man on multiple charges, including two counts of child abuse without great bodily harm, reckless driving, first offense, fleeing and eluding law enforcement at high speed, and a felony violation of probation. On April 18th, 2022, the cops were dispatched to a residence after [music] reports of domestic abuse. Allegedly, things took a violent turn for the worse when a 16-year-old mother was picking up her baby from its 19-year-old dad. >> I know, but he answering the phone. He got her phone >> and we just came over here to get the baby. The light-skinned [music] girl threatening us before we come here talking about she going to shoot us, all this stuff. All we want to do is pick the baby up. >> She going to walk away with the baby, right? We got the baby right here. >> And I'm trying to get him off her, but I'm holding the baby. Then when I put the baby to sleep, he climb on top of the baby and still hitting her. Like >> what's he wearing right now? >> He had on some gray sweat pants in a gray. Like >> did y'all see him go inside the house? It was hard to make sense of what was going on, but it sounded like the woman drove her friend to pick her baby up and the father flew into a rage before beating the woman and fleeing into the woods. To get to the bottom of things, the officer talked to the child's mother. >> We may come to pick my baby up, right? So, he's standing right there. I'm like, "Get my baby." So, the girl sitting at the door like she want to fight or something. So, I'm walking. So, he pissed me back. >> Who is she? Um Katie, whoever stayed right here, >> is it like a friend of his girlfriend or >> a family friend? I guess he [music] stayed with and she acting like she want to fight. So I'm the baby's right there by the tree and he's like a little bit in front of the baby. I'm trying to walk to get the baby. He pushed me like this trying to not let me get my baby. So she walking to go get the baby and I'm in the car. So he walking to the car like he's going to put the baby stuff in. He just started hitting me all day and I got cut. I don't know how I got cut, but I was just bleeding back. I don't know where >> that's round. That almost looks like a fingernail. Like somebody stabbed you with fingernail. >> He ran back there. >> Is that >> I see I see some some cuts like right here on your >> Yeah. >> Right here. >> Well, he was hitting you. Was it open or closed? >> I don't even know. It happened so quick. I don't even know. I didn't know he hit me and they both seen do and they acting like they going to do something. Act like they going to shoot us. Get off our [music] property. >> The guy broke it up. But the girl, she was she she was threatened me and her. They claimed the woman who was staying with the baby's father had threatened to shoot them if they set foot on the property before they even arrived. They agreed they should have called the cops beforehand, but they had hoped to deescalate things themselves. Suddenly, the father turned up to turn himself in. >> Unarmed. I don't have anything. >> I don't have anything. I'm unarmed. >> All right. Yeah, you're good, buddy. Relax. Try to get my side cuz I know I >> spread your legs. I got Yeah. Yeah. Okay. >> Just going to detain you. All right. >> Okay. >> I don't have a warrant, do I? For anything else, >> huh? >> Right now, you just got warrants from something else. Okay. >> Is it for this? >> No. >> Oh, so had a warrant. >> Yes. >> Okay. Okay. >> You got a probation violation. That's why I'm detaining. >> Looks like you ran through the woods. >> I had you. >> All right. Officer Heagen Botham is over there talking to your old lady. >> In dealing with the suspect, the cops here were being more than cordial. Before going on to speak with the women, [music] they got ready to put the man in a cruiser to be questioned further, but not before he told them his side of the story on the side of the road. >> This is what happened. >> Yeah. He didn't. >> So, she brought me my son, right? >> Mhm. >> And then she got mad and she wanted to come get him. >> And then so I'm like, "All right, you know, that's cool." You feel me? cuz you're the legal garden and the girl that she's with that's her garden feel me and then so she pull up she pull out the knife on me that's when I grab her and we were touching over the knife that's how she got the bruises and stuff and >> the people whose house y'all were walking around they're my witness >> you separate for just a second while she's feeding baby other than the the baby gun over there was there any other weapons outside >> I don't know I don't know if that other guy had a knife >> did did she have a knife >> that's what the officer is being told now She had a knife and that's how they got the to physically fighting. >> No, he just came to the car and charged at her and just started hitting her. He told me when he pulled up when we pulled up that he was going to be I said, "No, you're not." >> She said she he pushed her a couple times again. Is that Did she fall when he pushed her? >> Trying to think she was standing up [music] at first. Yeah, he pushed her in the car. >> Okay. And then he was on top of her and then she ended up on the side of the um this side of the car on the concrete and then when she got back in the car, he came back again. That's when he jumped on again and he snatched her phone and he ran it that way. >> The woman said the fight only ended when a neighbor ran outside and pulled the father off his ax. It was starting to be a case of he said, she said, and it was hard to determine whether the mother had a knife. As a result, the officers then went to talk to the neighbor who'd broken the fight up. >> Hello. >> Hey, is there a gentleman in here also? Is there another man? Is there a man in the house? >> There was. Where'd he go? >> He ran. He left. >> He's not in trouble. I mean, isn't he may have been the helper in trying to >> He ran away. >> Yeah. He just trying to get himself in. Did he turn himself in? >> Yeah, we got him up here. >> Who was the other gentleman that ran with >> I don't know. He was just with him. I know him because that's my little cousin. He stopped by this morning cuz she was going to come get that baby. >> Yeah. Did you happen to see anybody with a knife? >> You want me to be honest? >> Yes, ma'am. >> They were in the car. >> The lady with the car? >> Yeah. She She was That's why he came. >> He wasn't comfortable making her pick up the baby at the new girlfriend house. >> So, he came here this morning and he looked like she was >> trying to be a neutral cycle. >> Who is she to you? >> I don't know her. >> Okay. Is it the the the baby's mom that had the knife or the older lady? >> Yeah, I think so. She was going to speak to him. She said something about having a knife and she was going to cut him up. I heard he had something like you can cut myself or something. I don't know. But I came in the house cuz I don't want to be >> understand. >> You know what I'm saying? That's why I'm in here now. >> Now, the story was rapidly changing. It was starting to sound like the father here was defending himself against his ex who had pulled a knife out. In other words, the entire altercation might have been self-defense. And on ask, you told me that she didn't have a knife. Now, we got other people that have called in and said there was a knife. >> I see her there was no knife. >> Okay. Well, we have there's several witnesses that said that she does. >> Does she have a knife with her? >> I don't know. >> I need to talk to you, please. >> Some other qu Well, right. I just have some questions to make more definition. [music] >> So, I need I need you to tell me what's going on. I need you to be honest with me because there's witnesses that told us what happened. >> When did you get the knife? I was like I was like he was like he was like um he said you going to get what's coming or something whatever. So I'm like what do you mean? So I go back to the car and just carry he like he just right behind me. So I'm like what the hell? And I know that knife was in there because I don't know if somebody was left in that car or something but I seen the other day and I was just like that's the only thing I got to protect. He h me if you hit me. I don't >> So he already pushed you once over here and it was went back to the car and that's when >> ran the car like like he thought I was going to lock myself apart. put res and like tarps and started hitting. >> It was still unclear here just who was defending themselves from whom. The mother admitted to having the knife but said she only armed herself when her ex ran up on her very aggressively. Once again, they talked to the man to get his side of the story. >> You said you're saying that you had you said you had your hands on on her hand and the knife. >> Yes. And then that's when she went to wigging. That's when I grabbed her again. You feel like, "Bro, chill out, bro." You feel me? And then like she fell out the car. I fell on top of her face. Her face scr all like that. My knee fell on top of her face. You feel me? And that's why she was like, "Oh my god." She said, "You made me stab myself during the process." >> Okay. How does she have new injuries on her neck? >> That's why, you feel me? I was like I was just grabbing her with with everywhere I could. That's why I actually did the first home. Like talking about >> both sides of her neck and they're new >> because like I said, I grabbed her like this. You feel me? when when when when she had the knife, I'm like, "Bro, chill out, bro." You feel me? Then that's when the girl walked up on the car, you feel me? She's like, "Look." I'm like, "Bro, I got my hand on her hand and the knife, you feel me?" >> Mhm. >> And then like, "I can't do it." You feel me? Cuz I got the curse on, but you pretty much get what I'm saying. You feel me? I grabbed her neck. Yes, I did to restrain her >> so hard that you dug your nails into her neck >> cuz she was trying to stab me. >> Without any clear evidence, it was pretty much impossible to get the truth. The cops determined that while she had pulled a knife out, the father should have backed off and called police. He shouldn't have charged the woman and gotten into a physical fight. The cops ultimately determined that they had the right suspect. >> Here's some capital for you. >> And they done gave me this before, too. >> Yeah. What is it? >> He's be charged with battery and technically it's fall under criminal trespass is malicious interference. He took your phone and kept you from using it for that time. >> That's a that's a instructional 911 call. Well, if she had if she actually wasn't on the phone call with them. >> It was like it just, you know, have some time to take a little bit to like them to pick up. Like I was calling them. I dialed and everything. >> That's why we had to call my phone. So, he was trying to stop her. >> Yeah. So, he's being charged. Um, you're good to go at this point here. Um, he also had warrants, so [music] he went on the warrants anyway. >> Dang. Warrants for what? >> Probation revocation. >> The suspect was charged with criminal trespass, family violence. first offense, battery, interference with property, and cruelty to children in the third degree. Being a parent, of course, comes with a lot of responsibility. And when parents neglect their duties, inevitably the consequences catch up with them.
