November 29th 2021 former police officer Ryan Remington who was terminated from the Tucson Police Department faces a manslaughter charge in connection with Richard's death the events unfolded when officer Remington responded to a call from a Walmart employee regarding suspected shoplift body cam footage from the Tucson Police Department depicts officers approaching Richard who was in a motorized wheelchair in the parking lot officer Remington attempted to engage Richard seeking his cooperation but the situation quickly escalated bra 18 bra 18 you start me 84 have a male suspect that Remington was promptly fired Puma County Attorney Laura Conover announced that officer Remington will be facing the charges of manslaughter in his upcoming trial but if you thought the case of Officer ordeal on April 16th 2023 in Pittsfield Township Michigan it all began at Brierwood mall where Anne Arbor police responded to a shooting incident when the officers arrived at the scene they noticed a car trying to flee and recklessly overtaking police cars the officers then initiated a highs speed chase recklessly moving through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph the driver actions posed a whitfield's distraught family whitfield's Mother Maria Dixon filed a lawsuit on October 5th 2021 against the Pittsfield Township police officer who handcuffed her son claiming his constitutional initiation of a civil rights lawsuit against him the lawsuit alleges that the officer employed exessive force during the encounter with Mitchell prompting widespread calls for accountability and Justice within the Beville Community although this cop did get away in the next case it gets a bit out of hand turn around no please this is Juan Martinez a 73-year-old Vietnam veteran and his wife Guadalupe both residents of Buddha Texas on October 3rd 2014 their routine shopping trip to Walmart on old San Antonio Road turned into a shocking encounter counter with law enforcement captured by newly released body camera footage the incident has sparked a federal lawsuit against the city of Buddha Officer De Mariel young and Walmart with Robert ranco of the Carlson Law Firm representing the Martinez couple using us for being racist and all this to saying that she's going to press Char that he's going to press charges because we're all being racist um but it's more than $25 okay how much is it um I'm not sure I had to come out because he was raising his voice at me um and my that's what's going on and this isn't the first time that we hello hello hell just step outside for just step already call Medics for you so what's going on here I was looking for him and he was charging a battery uh battery from the yeah back there and I couldn't find him so I went up the guy told me he went outside so I I went H my grocery and I pushed it right at the at the door so I could if I could see him I couldn't see him when she touched my shoulder and she said that I was taking off taking off I just she 100% the door no sir I no man was she like out out she passed our pass the door the door open okay when the door opens my car I'm going to get you officer like this sir I wasn't just a few groceries I mean I I was looking for him so we could pay for it okay all right what was the to the total uh brion's grabbing it right now we have Medics coming we have Medics coming do you have a total so where's our vehicle parked at this is the back where the battery the battery this where was looking for it okay but I wasn't I mean just a few groceries I mean we don't have to steal I we got money okay he's just to verify your ID the lawsuit not only holds officer Young and the City of Buddha accountable but also implicates Walmart alleging negligence and false imprisonment in response Walmart issued a statement expressing their Comm commment to address the matter responsibly once they have received the formal complaint meanwhile the Buddha Police Department refrains from comment citing that they have yet to be served with the lawsuit however the ramifications of this incident reverberate beyond the legal realm raising critical questions about police conduct accountability and the protection of citizens rights in encounters with law enforcement if you think that the veteran cop in this footage was treated badly wait till you see how often officer not handled the next Department's strict use of force policies the investigation concluded that nuts actions constituted unreasonable force a failure to deescalate the situation and a failure to employ alternative tactics
