advising I'm going to go. >> On November 15th, 2024, a Toma Police Department officer was advised of a domestic trouble call on Woodard Avenue in Toma, Wisconsin. The reporting party, 20-year-old Jamal's grandmother, stated that Jamal was in possession of Xanax and was refusing to turn it over. Hello. What's going on? >> He's not supposed to take the pills and he's fighting his mom to take the pills. >> He's fighting his mom. What? Trying to get the pills from her. Close this because I got the T here and he won't give her the Hey, >> hey, hey, hey, hey. >> What? >> Where are the pills? >> I don't have them. >> Take them out of your bag. >> Keep your hands where I can see them. Where are the pills at? >> I don't have any pills. >> He's got a bag underneath here. >> Yeah, I see it. Keep your hands up. Jamal was on felony bond with conditions prohibiting him from possessing any controlled substances without a valid prescription in his name. Yeah. >> You're going to get tased. You tase me. I follow you. Let go my taser. Oh, you got taser activation. We're taking a mask. >> Easy, buddy. You're still good. >> We have another trouble. Guys, he's going to go around. Grab his feet. That's my foot. Okay. >> Calm down. Not okay. You go. Should I need to go that side? Yeah. AM I able to take this off or do I need to cut it off? You have >> Is there a buckle on this or we going to have to cut it? >> Find out. >> We're going to cut it. You got to roll. >> Yeah, I'll roll. You got that one. One, two, three. You want to grab that? Okay. M Yep. Okay. We're going to start right here. We're have to search him. He's apparently got that thing inside. >> All right. >> Did you take anything tonight? >> No. >> No. You just threatened to or what? No, I didn't. >> Why you Why'd you call us then? >> Because she won't give me my medicine. >> Okay. What's your medicine? >> My two pills I'm supposed to take? I was going to ask the >> the doctor. >> Okay. And you're prescribed that medication? >> Yes, I am. >> Okay. Anyone know what's your apartment number on that? >> We're going to have to search him quick before you guys take off. He's got a bag on it. Sounds good. underneath his jacket. So, >> did she say he took it? >> It's in that fanny pack. Heck was taking care of the stuff inside part of case he's working. >> Okay, let's search him right now. Then I'll take that. >> Good. >> Did the bag off? >> We cut it off. Yeah. Um it should be in his one of his back legs here. >> Okay. on the side kind of. >> I'm going to go grab that. >> Okay. Jamal, other than the taser probes in your leg, are you hurt anywhere? >> No. Okay. >> We're going to jail. Okay. >> Uh you're going to be under arrest for resisting uh and battery to peel. >> My home. >> Yeah, I understand. It's your home. >> You came in my home. >> We did. Yep. >> We did. >> I did not tell you to. If you were to put your hands behind your back, you'd probably be sitting in your room right now and we'd be done. But you decided to do what you did and so this where it got you. >> We didn't want it to go like this. >> You should have told me. >> What's that? >> You should have told me. >> Well, police officer's trying to put your hands around your back and tell him to put your hands around your back. What do you think? >> I don't know if you're police officer or not. You just came in my home. >> Okay. All right. What do I need to say to you? Okay. You want to ride with him and I'll meet you down there. We called these four and they said if he's not aggressive we can't do anything and I said he's not aggressive but he's verbally aggressive and we can't between the two of us there's no >> you know >> so what what uh I guess starting from earlier tonight what all happened tonight >> you know we had an encounter and then but any the money the stuff that he did have he like sold to Okay. >> So then we went back at war and the doctor's like, "Okay, I just I keep in charge." So I have it on me >> and he was fighting me for it. I'm like, "Okay, this is the medicine, the one pill you take at night. These are other ones cuz he's transitioning." The doctor said he's going to >> He would have to take like 20 weeks >> to transition off this. So >> So tonight you had the pills on you? >> Yes. And he was fighting. Yeah. I would He's not understanding. Um, I thought, "Okay, this is your night." I gave him this nighttime pill and he just he wants to hold him and I I can't trust him, >> right? >> You know, because >> So, you had him on you. Was he like physically trying to get him off of you or is he >> Well, it was milk and the milk making a milkshake and he like got it out of my pocket and then like he had in his hand and we were fighting for it >> and he wouldn't give him back. >> Yeah. No. >> Okay. Did he Did you guys call you guys any names or anything that yelling? >> No. Nobody abuses us, you know. I'm I'm here just a couple months, but he gets Yeah. He gets mad. >> But when he I I don't know for sure. >> Okay. >> Um but when he's he was getting off or whatever, then you know he would get in disagreement with my mom, you know. >> Yeah. I'm here all day and if I go out and I come back and he just can't >> Yeah. You know, can't tolerate that. >> I think he's on the wrong medicine. We have security system and >> he's he's just he's I don't know if it's like the drug side or whatever, but he's just he's paranoid of, you know, >> he thinks somebody's coming locked at all times and if my mom's going out then, you know, >> it's little paranoia there. >> I have to knock to come in. I can't. >> Yeah, it's just, >> you know, and I just Yeah, it's a couple months I'm here. >> What happens to him now? I mean, >> what do we do? >> So, well, what's going to happen now is he's going to go to jail um for resisting and kicking at us and stuff like that. >> Um so, he's going to go to jail. Uh he's going to be charged with disorderly conduct, domestic violence related. >> Okay. So, with that, in the state of Wisconsin comes a 72-hour no contact. That is up to the victims if they want to wave that or keep that in place. >> So, if the 72-hour no contact was kept in place, he wouldn't be able to have any contact with you two or the residents for 72 hours. If that's something that you don't want, you have the option to wave that. Um, and then after he sees a judge on Monday, most likely he could come back here. >> So, we went 72 out. We want >> So, what about his medicine? Like, >> we'll we'll take the medicine with us. Um, and we'll give that to the jail staff. Obviously, he won't have free reign at that. >> Um, is there any other medications he's prescribed that he would need if he was away for more than 24 hours? >> Too many things in life. You know, he lost my husband and he lost some friend and he lost a girlfriend and it's just too many things. >> Yeah. >> And we're kind of not meek, but you know. >> So, he's supposed to Yeah. take this um two times a day and this at night. But we have appointment with the doctor and we have to bring these. So they have to physically count them count. >> Um >> yeah, I mean cuz he needs the medicine, >> right? Okay. We will take that with us. And as far as you guys saw, he didn't take anything more than what he's prescribed, right? >> No. >> It sounds like he had some fake >> green ones and white ones. So you guys are >> you guys are taking him off of him and he's using something from the street that isn't >> I've been I told him to no mom it's it's a script and but you know >> the problem is if he's taking that on top of this he's not really coming down from anything he might just be ding what you're doing. So >> the fanny pack found on Jamal was later found to contain what appeared to be Xanax bars that were later determined to be fake. Neither the mother nor the grandmother was aware of them. >> What's the call? uh might have taken some medication that he wasn't turning over um because he's got conditions not to have any >> here >> any prescriptions without a prescription. Um went to go put him in put his hands behind his back, started fighting, centralized to the ground. Um hit his head on the coffee table and then still fighting with us. um got a fist to the face and then uh he got tased in his right leg. >> Okay. >> As for anything else, I'm not really aware. >> Upon arrival at the Monroe County Jail, Jamal was booked in for resisting an officer and battery to law enforcement. Additionally, he was also booked for felony bail jumping, for disorderly domestic conduct, and for possession of drugs. And that's how a domestic trouble call over suspected medication spiraled into a violent struggle that ended with an arrest and hospital transport.
