temperature inside the trailer was lik into a sauna with a noticeable odor of feces this this is sad this is for some we need to pry on know 50 right now um I need for him to come over here cuz I don't think that this is animal cruelty yeah while on the scene the owners and the witness attended to the Animals by placing them outside and providing water a bucket with water was found near the entrance of the U-Haul's lift gate but no water was present in the cages check on the other dogs really fast yeah this one is do you have any water for them when was the last time they had water uh not too long ago we also put ice in here for them because they're Huskies okay we didn't think it'd be this bad on them trying to move K those are all my cats there's four of them you said I the cats only had wet food in a bowl while the rest of the animals had no sustenance the animals gradually stopped panting after being rehydrated and the local fire department provided additional assistance to he was walking by the truck he initially mistook The Sounds inside for Birds but soon realized it was dogs in distress when the lift gate was opened the witness advised the owner to remove the animals and not leave you're Jason okay where where are y'all coming from uh fville Tennessee Tennessee flintville Tennessee okay from your address yes ma'am okay and was the you is the U-Haul from Tennessee too okay how long have y'all been driving uh well we started last night at 9 10 9 or 10 9 or 10 okay so to today is Wednesday so Tuesday around 9:00 or 10 okay y'all are in Tennessee Okay were the dogs in the U-Haul truck at that time yes man okay how long were they in the U-Haul truck majority of the way majority of the way they was in her dad's car but then uh we stopped so that way he could uh he could go get us lunch but then we never met back up with him so we loaded everything in the back okay would were you with him in Tennessee okay how do y'all know each other uh we've been together for about a year we decided we're getting married and then we moving down here to start our family okay okay where where are y'all currently living at according to Duncan the owners Jason Donal and Sparks and Shauna Dow parked in front of the business in direct sunlight and he had to direct shaana to a shaded area the day's high temperature was 91° with a low of 73 and humidity at 64% both Jason and Shauna were identified through their respective licenses and read their rights by Deputy C they acknowledged understanding and agreed to speak to law enforcement and all the other ones they were all like standing up when I walked over there there um our RP reporting party he called and said that he was spraying water on him trying to get him to come back alert and all that he said that the one of the white Huskies it was basically out and everything so that's why like yeah I think so no AC no oxygen no nothing for approximately 8 to N9 hours [ __ ] U-Haul why 8 to 9 hours approxim I don't know what part of Tennessee they're coming from but they said that they drove from Tennessee to here with the dogs and the um well the cats in the back of that U-Haul I got you AC unit in the back work he said that the AC he put the AC back there thinking that it was going to work and he never checked it never [Music] checked that's fine get some more water really fast all right guys um I'm not quite sure what Deputy magante um advised you okay so before we ask you any questions this is per policy per the State of Florida okay so I have to just read you and make sure you understand your rights okay because we can talk to you but I just want you to know that at any point in time you have the right to do whatever you want okay we're not forcing you to do anything but if you want to talk to us you can um openly all that okay so you have the right to remain silent anything you say can be used against you in cour you have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions to have him or her with you during any questioning if you cannot afford a lawyer one will be appointed for you before any questions if you wish if you decide to answer questions without a lawyer present you will still have the right to stop answering at any time you also have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to a lawyer do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you okay with these rights in mind you wish to talk to us now okay so here here's a situation okay what part of Tennessee did you come from bu the very bottom very bottom okay how long did it take you to get from um Tennessee to Florida to this location with all the stops or we just driving okay when was the last time you stopped we stopped at 5 and then that was one we found out we didn't have water and then we stopped again at 7 okay so you stopped at 5:00 realized that you didn't have any water for the animals okay did you at any point in time check on the condition of the animals that it was still fairly cool outside so I okay so at that point your AC um unit wasn't working correct the AC unit was on but they they didn't seem like they were painting or anything okay when was the last time did you check um for them to have any type of water or anything before 5:00 when it was the last time before 5:00 I'm not too sure what what time did y'all actually leave Tennessee post Miranda they admitted that they began their Journey from Tennessee at around 91 were p.m. on July 27th 2021 with the dogs placed in the U-Haul they confirmed the animals did not have water for approximately 7 hours between 5 or 7 a.m. R down everything that happened can you just let me fil me in on everything that happened which part like the whole story all right we left uh Tennessee at 9 91 some's in between there we gave them uh we got we had medicine that's supposed to knock them out for 12 hours so that way we can make the whole trip at night but uh we stopped to rest twice uh last night about an hour so that that ended up killing the time on it and then uh we lost her dad so we didn't wasn't able to get any of the stuff but we stopped at 5: and 700 found out they didn't have water we gave them food at 5: and then we drove 5 a.m. yes okay and we drove a little bit further and then I can't remember where we stopped at another rest stop I didn't even think about getting the uh using the water bucket but I got a couple bottle of water things but it wasn't much but uh and and we stopped here a little while ago when everybody uh see if we could get water from par Freight and then a dolly so we can unload the trailer and that's when uh I met that gentleman that gentleman said uh he's called theyve called the police that I needed to stay here Palm Coast Animal control officer Heather noted that the animals were dehydrated and believed they would not have survived much longer in those conditions Heather documented the situation and took the animals to a veterinary hospital for further examination following the investigation Jason and shaa were arrested on charges of animal cruelty and transported to the Flagler County inmate facility you can just start from I mean we stopped at like I think size he got them water and then after that I've been asleep so I really didn't know and just now when I went to check on the dogs and this dud told me me I've never dealt with the cops you guys both own the dogs together hot Shauna mentioned that her son was traveling with them and that family members were arranged to pick him up and take possession of the U-Haul and trailer photographic evidence of the animals and the trucks conditions was recorded for documentation dog attacks Animal Control a Rottweiler with a known history of aggression was fatally shot by Chandler police after attacking an animal control officer the incident occurred on November 7th when Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Officer Rick ala and Chandler police officers responded to a court order to seize the dog the court order stemmed from a petition labeling the dog as dangerous following three previous biting incidents the last biting incident led to the complaint filed in court prompting a hearing request and the need for temporary impoundment officer Alva described the situation explaining that someone approached the court to have the dog named Rocky legally classified as vicious until the scheduled hearing the court required the dog to be held at the County facility on the day officers arrived at the residence on the 500 block of West Green Tree Drive Rocky attacked clamping down on Alva's right forearm a Chandler police officer intervened shooting the dog to prevent further harm officer car control all right good morning hey get this marked the third attempt to contact the dog's owner Alva was subsequently taken to Chandler Regional hospital for medical attention pitbull attacks officer during terrifying Rampage in September 2023 an unusual event unfolded in Lacrosse Wisconsin involving not a person but an extremely aggressive dog police were called to a neighborhood where a pitbull had escaped and was causing chaos the dog's owner concerned for her own safety on top of a car in the middle of the road why would I tase the dog it's not doing anything right now it was it was chasing people down the street no I'm not going to tase the dog we have a snare catcher thing coming so dog just up there right now I'm not too worried she gave this dogs like six Ben DRS come back here we talkg yeah me too but at the same time I ain't trying to get bit because someone can't take care of their dog you know what I mean she gets long reported that her pet was lunging aggressively at random people this wasn't a new occurrence the dog had been acting out for days and she admitted she was genuinely afraid of her own pet yeah you came with this this gentleman here how long does that thing get that's it yeah it's the longest one we got I don't think it's going to work I try to tell him he wants to get banned I try to tell him do but he's scared I'm thinking if he could roll down the window and let the dog in the van he could jump off the other side that way he's in the van risk I mean he must I don't know it must be her boyfriend so the dog knows that he what in heat okay he already attacked what's her name that's huh what's her name oh no but she's in heat what's what's the dog's name come here ATL you want leash here's a leash that's Atlas I'm going to try put her on leash put I already gave him V here give her here here give her here's a mil bone for you he ain't going to do that whatever there's Lun me on the thing she even mentioned that it had attacked her before leaving her with bruises when she was simply swatting at flies inside her house what you talking to I people okay well you're you're not taking care of your dog that's bit people had put her on the leash right away and calm her down if you have let her go but leave the leash on when officers arrived at the seam they spotted the Pitbull a large gray and white animal roaming the area the dog dog was circling a van leaping onto the hood growling and snapping at anyone who came too close just so you know I got this up yeah I saw that she's right here come here gra you would you like you put this around him no you're going to need to put that around him come from the back I'll distract him up here come here he's dangerous yeah that's why we'll just take it slow I gave him already three in Ben it's Atlas that's what the Humane Society everyone's like trying cuz nobody will give me a come here Mommy come here the situation intensified as the owner tried to leash the Dog the Pitbull charged at an officer biting his arm and causing him to lose his balance as the situation escalated the owner now frustrated and desperate began blaming the officers for their inability to control the dog negative we pepper spray the dog so I don't know how this is going to go going forward tell me good it's deep is it let me see you got a C kit or you good no it's not where the hell is this thing I don't know what the I think right sir no you gra a hold on my foot then I called she even urged them to shoot the animal to put it out of its misery let's not even try it anymore right now is the best I got him pretty good oh my god dude he got you oh my god hey guys SK I'm out I I'm going to shoot it if it comes again don't let don't let him do that Hey sir back up here it just been him have you back up if it comes again it's getting shot I don't shoot you're not going to P your gun on if it comes like that if it comes on him like that he's it's getting shot let me try it one more time no this I'll take it in my own hands no nope nope we're not doing that you got something I can put on this here Gan we got Gau in here did he get r no he got bit B I got peroxide for you no don't don't put that on I got when that didn't happen she threatened to report them to their Superior the officers realizing they needed stronger measures used pepper spray in an attempt to subdue the dog died pretty hard when I sprayed it with the cover spray through one can he doing that we come right up and over the catch ball it's the only thing I'm worried about is that he's going to slide really quick off this while trying to get the Pitbull into the animal control van it lunged again biting a bystander although the police considered using a taser the owner continued arguing appearing both angry and helpless pretty quick so we you spray this thing and then he can try to catch pull it what do you think terrible idea what do you think the plan is though I think we hold I think our best bet is trying to tase it and then just getting on top of it and holding its head or something it's like why couldn't she have [Applause] done we're telling him to he's moving it go why would you do that risk be attack again yeah that's rarded we got to take we got to take him to yeah so hey careful they're going to sit down okay are you going to be cooperative at all or no I'm trying but I can't we got the dog on come on now I'm SC guys I'm on the other [Music] end no hang on backage in the back oh my God are you okay she also mentioned that this wasn't her first call for help she had reached out days earlier even fleeing from her own dog in fear the police also spoke to another person who had been bitten previously and confirmed the pitbull's aggressive nature should I just tase this thing or what please T I'm scar he's going to use his ey on up so I'm next can she just herey could she just walk it home could she if doesn't want to take it home the dog was eventually taken to the lack Cross County Humane Society where it continued to display aggressive behavior the owner's vet confirmed the Pitbull was vaccinated for rabies but lacked a City License leading to citations for both an unlicensed dog and allowing it to run loose we need R Li why don't you just I don't know we'll find them there're somewhere out here fell we'll find them okay don't worry about it just I got to go to the hospital it's down to the bone I said I need stitches so yeah I'm okay do you have any me I can't no because I call these Polie me the vet revealed that over a year ago they had advised the owner to consider euthanizing the dog due to its violent tendencies dog in the truck own resp so the Humane Society will not touch it if it's in the truck so we are responsible for taking it out and bringing it into the building so that's my only concern is it's in there but now we have to take it out and we have to kennel it in there and I put venil and steak in the steak to like see I was going to sedate him because nobody would help me shut the up and get the away stop ex what are you doing is how bad has it hurt a sure it's going to hurt later but in the end due to its aggressive actions and the injuries it inflicted the Humane Society decided to euthanize the dog the offic officer who was bitten went to the hospital for treatment while the bystander who had been bitten twice drove himself to seek medical attention though it was a sad conclusion many in the community felt safer knowing the threat had been removed officers rescuing animals from fast moving brush fire body camera
