over a driver for running a red light good morning officer Anton K Pro police the reason are pulling you over you ran the red light Santa Barbara and gleon I know I was it turned yellow and I was going to stop but I didn't want to hit on the brakes okay can I see your driver's license registration and insurance where's my ID card um where's your driver's license I just moved huh where's your driver's license I don't have I don't have an actual license okay so why are you driving huh why are you driving a license I have a license I don't have my actual license I left it at the bar okay so you're driving without your license but you have a license you have a license and an ID card right okay what part would you leave your ID at in the go room in the go room all right do you have your your insurance is it your car or is it your it's my it's my it's C's Car okay do you have Geico or does he have Geico yeah okay do you have any weapons in the car no no all right just hang tight don't get out of the car give me a couple of minutes all right without her license to verify her identity and driving status officer Anton retreated to his patrol car to check her details against the police database what he discovered next was nothing short of shocking the driver's license had been suspended since 2016 not just for a missed payment or a forgotten ticket but for a slew of violations that painted a troubling picture of her driving history she going to jail what she's going to jail yeah so we got to find someone for her kid pleas to jail you're going to jail Randy your license has been suspended do you have't had a license since 2016 don't even play that game with me we're not playing games get out come on listen you didn't fix it listen listen what can I do the police explain they want to handle the situation respectfully requesting she step out of the car to talk away from her children emphasizing that they are not arresting her but merely want to clarify her license status the woman asserts that she resolved her license suspension in 2020 right after being released from jail but she cannot produce any documentation to prove her claim listen we don't we don't want to do this in front of your kids that's that's why we're try we're trying to be very respectful my wife is on the way okay I'm going to ask you to step out okay just come here come outside and talk to me so we don't have to do this right here we're not we're not slapping cuffs on you in front of your kids we just want you to come out just so we can talk to your R get here that's literally it okay mom's just going to stand right here she's not going anywhere please I can do it's going to violate my C step out here why are you lying that your license was fixed I promise you I went okay where's your documentation that says your license is fixed I'm I'm on probation I was just at probation they where's your documentation that says your license is fixed I fixed my license it's been suspended since 2016 ma'am I promise when did you go I got arrested in 20 20 I think the computer it's not going to tell me that you have I don't know how many suspensions I can I can look certainly they're toll it was toll violations I had to reopen all of the cases with with judge when did you fix it I want to know the date 2020 I got out of jail the the day I got out of jail I went down there so where is your license if I call Indigo room they're going to have your license there I left my I left my driver's license at Indigo I swear to you a month ago so for a month you didn't think to go back to Indigo room to get your license no I did go back there I went back there like 2:00 in the day and no one was there she repeatedly assures the officers that she is not lying and asks them to verify her claims by contacting her probation officer she expresses concern that being taken to jail would violate her probation so you left it there for a month and today is the day that you think that you think you have a license and that it's been at the Indigo room for a month ma'am I promised you I don't believe you I I promise you I have no reason to lie about it you have a lot of reasons to lie you literally just said you're going to violate your probation no no no I'm I'm saying me going to jail is going to violate my probation certainly will because you are going to go to jail because you're lying I swear I swear to you I am not lying to you so why would the system just make it up that you're suspended still since 2016 I don't know I got out of jail please like please like can't contact whoever you have to contact I got out of jail last year because I went to jail for lights for Lea that's what I went to jail for I don't know what that is it was a huge thing I had a high-profile case okay I got out of jail I went right down to the CMB I left the jail and went right to the clerk of courts because I had to reopen all of the cases for the toll violations M okay I can you just stand over here with her I swear to you the situation escalates as the officers decide to verify her story by checking out systems and considering contacting her probation officer they ALS o discussed the need to keep the woman's children away from the stressful situation however the officer explained that they needed to check other systems to verify the accuracy of their current information which was generally [Applause] reliable it's okay okay it's okay they're telling me my life has been 2016 like I said we're trying to figure it out and I was explaining to your wife we're looking at other systems that we have to check all that stuff I'll even go as far as calling your probation officer you know what I mean to find out what what it is that's going on yeah please but for now let's just get the kids out of here that way they don't have to they're obviously goally upset [Applause] so he's right here she doesn't have that I can see she suspended times 126 you check okay we need four people yeah I that's insane I went I swear I got out of jail in 2020 yeah and I went right to the Circ Court's office I swear I believe you I I my probation papers like everything says my license is valid like it doesn't say I can't drive nothing like I said we we're we're we're trying to access other systems to make sure that our computer system the results it's giving us is true and correct as of this time but like I said 99.9% of the time the information we have at hand is typically correct brother the woman also mentions a past issue where she accumulated 108 toll violations in 2016 which still appear on their computer system she explains that she had to reopen all those cases with judge gagd who assisted her significantly she was put on a payment plan to clear a fine of $1,200 which she affirms she has paid I had like 108 toll violations back in like 2016 yeah those are all the ones that are showing up on our computer so I had to reopen all the cases with judge gagleard she was amazing honestly she she really helped me out I had to pay like a $1,200 $1,200 they put me on a payment plan they did all this crap so you paid that in 2020 pay that all right I'll go look pay that paid it I promise anothere you're saying you paid those toll violations I paid it the cash the officer then asked if she had also paid the license reinstatement fees which are crucial alongside the fine the woman confirms she paid those as well the officer decides to review the records to verify her claims did you pay your license reinstatement fees I went now to the yes so you don't so here's your problem you have to pay the fine but you also have to pay all the fees associated with that I went right all right I'm going to go look that's what I'm going to look at [Applause] [Music] I'll so she did pay some of them and then she went on a payment plan for the rest and didn't do a payment plan she still suspect so after checking the officer notes that while some violations were paid and closed many remain open the payment plan was initiated but she did not complete it leading to ongoing fines so she is huh so she is gone oh yeah hang up the phone's on I'll call you right back baby okay I love you right love you right I did pay it right no during the interaction she hadn't updated her address so she was unaware of these notices and the subsequent collections she also received a ticket for not updating her address which further compounded her problems ma'am here's what I I just I only looked at one ticket cuz I wasn't going to go through all hundred whatever tickets I looked at one and it was I can see that some of them are closed which means you paid and you still have a lot of open ones and here's I'm going to tell you what it looks like payment plan just the one and again I'm not going to look at all the 100 or whatever are still open it's 126 yeah it shows it shows that you went on a payment plan you know what it also shows what you didn't complete the payment plan and then and now they have continued to find you and find you and find you so much so that if I if I recall the date in 2021 so last year they even continued to send you notices and then they sent you to collections you're in collections with those you haven't changed your address so you obviously wouldn't know that either you can also get a ticket for that so that's on you not on us you created this problem you didn't do what you were supposed to do you get to go to jail today go explain it to the judge and that's offic pH you can take it with you you're not call making any calls turn around put your hands behind your back 85 did you tell my officer that you had a license that you left it at I did whatever Club yes Indigo room yes yes I don't I don't I'm sorry but I don't know how that's even possible I know you get this every day you know not every day I have someone suspended times 126 the officer discovered her driving license was suspended and she had multiple toll violations the driver initially tried to deflect responsibility suggesting someone else like a former roommate might be to blame but but who who who committed those toll violations it wasn't I hold on who committed them it wasn't me no it was an officer in tties right I had a roommate okay it's my fault it's my fault okay face the car for me bring your right leg out towards me do you have anything on on you that's going to hurt folk sck me guns and KN Bazookas anything crazy can you do me a favor what is on on the windshield wiper of my car can you just grab me a little black hair tie black hair tie [Applause] yes as the situation escalated she also wanted her phone and ID but decided to leave her fanny pack in the car thinking she would leave everything for her wife the officer informs her that they are Towing her car and it can only be picked up by the person it's registered to so you want your phone with you uh I have your ID what else do you need that's in there um scoot in just a little bit more my fan pack you can take a fany pack with you if you want I what do you want that's in there my I was just thinking I just want to leave everything for my wife okay we're Towing in the car just so you know so whoever it is registered to it's that has to pick it up can you have her come get it she right down the road we're Towing it thanks I really did not know my life IED normally people that say that and believe it have a driver's license you don't even have that so I'm sure you can understand why I don't why are you going to pass out I can feel it all right so you need first aid to come out here no I'm just letting you know can have EMS respond out the subject beli she's going to pass out another incarceritis I have all right first Aid's coming we're still going to jail whether you pass out or not oh you're not going to pass out in the back seat on my car tell you that so the woman seems distressed and claims she might pass out which prompts the officer to call for medical assistance despite her later insistence that she feels fine once the air hits [Music] [Applause] her I'm I'm fine we can just go no no we can't because we're going to need to get you checked out uh then we're going to probably need to take you to the hospital get you medically cleared and then we'll have to take you to jail from there so no I'm okay no ma'am you made the complaint I didn't I didn't I said I was going to pass out that's yeah yeah and that's the complaint the medical complaint and now we have to do what we have to do so it just prolongs the process um so we'll get you over to the jail as soon as we can as soon as the hital says you're you are okay to go to jail I feel better now that the air is like I can feel the air uh-huh okay suddenly when we
