On April 6th, 2023, officers responded to a 911 call about a robbery. A man had reportedly attacked someone outside a store and stolen their bicycle. The two that you saw, can you describe were they white males, black males, Hispanic males? I see black. Okay. Uh do you remember anything that they were wearing color-wise? gray, white, black, red. Uh I think he he wore uh uh red red t-shirt or red hoodie. Not okay. It was a red hoodie. Hoodie and those guys can be uh black and white uh shirt. And her hair her hair is going to be Okay. Like twisties. Yeah. Gotcha. How tall was he? One one tall more than you and one same same like you. Okay. You all right? I know it's not I know it's not the best day. And about to go to the turn lane and at that little liquor store or whatever is on the corner. I see him and he keeps trying to pick up the bicycle and then the other two guys are trying to both fight him. Mhm. Now, I told them and I told the dispatch, I don't know it was his bike, but all I see is two guys trying to fight one person. So they're he starts going off with the guy in the that's in the car now and the other guy would keep sneaking through and then they would basically kind of take turns and then he got knocked down by the guy in the red hoodie and then they started throwing his stuff and taking the bike. It looked like all he was trying to do was get the bike. If it's his bike, I don't know. And I feel bad if it's not, you know, these guys are getting arrested. Right. And I told dispatch that I don't know if it's his bike, but I asked him. I said, "Did they steal your bike?" And he said, "Yes." So I said, "Hop in the car." And I called 911 and I was hoping it would just, you know, get to a stop and then figure out whose bike it was. But then this guy was fighting with the police. So I helped them get him wrapped up. Okay. All right. I'm not that far. This guy would be named Gaston. [ __ ] jacked like Beauty and the Beast Gaston. He's better looking though. That's the only problem. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Um, anything anything else you got to add? Yeah, that's pretty No, I just I was on I was on phone with them. I saw them both pull up there. The kid that had a red hoodie, you know, and that that's that's the dude that you saw. Yeah, did you ever lose eyesight of him the whole time? That one? Yeah, that one. So, you followed him? Well, we we we lost sight of him for about a minute. When I pulled down here, he was still holding the bike. Okay. And then I saw them both take the bike right up past there. And that's and that's when I met up with the officer over here. Hey, I'm going to go with All right, sir. I'm going to read you Miranda rights so that I can uh talk to you a little further. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will use against you in the court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer. Have him or her present for you while being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. Um would you care to provide your narrative once more? You uh you went over it before, but uh how did you go about acquiring this bicycle? What was the what was the pretense? So my boy holding the door closed because that's my bike. I try to take my bike. Mhm. He just tried to steal off on me like the dude with the my bike. Mhm. try to hit me and then that's when we started getting into it and then a boy I jumped into it and like give him his bike back and he wasn't trying to she was trying to pursue my bike so he ended up hitting me um again and that's when my boy jumped into it and took my bike and he jumped into it. So that's what happened. Okay. And you said this bike was at your home address. my home address. Yes. On Bair Road, right? Correct. Okay. And that was yesterday. Yes. Uh morning, afternoon, evening. It was in at night time. You noticed it was stolen at night time, right? Okay. And then you didn't you did not report it or anything. And then this morning you were just out on a ride. You said, right? It was under the staircase. I leave it under there and you took it. Okay. And you said today you were out on a you borrowed a friend's bike. borrowing a friend's bike for and you were out on a ride just you and your boy and then you saw him riding on your bike. Yeah. And then he had another bike I could use and then I had my bike. I had told him about my bike being gone and he knew about it. So we had saw him and then that's when we got him and we approached him. He was like that's my bike and he was like no it's not your bike and then going back and forth. Okay. Did did you did you approach him at all before he went into the liquor store? Yeah I did. Okay. So you said that's saw him right here and we was like that's our bike. That's my bike. That's my old bike. He was like, "Get off my bike." So he wasn't he wasn't going. He was just riding. He was moving faster. Mhm. Like he stole my bike. Mhm. So I'm And then he then he went in the liquor store, picked up the bike outside and then that's when your boy in the red hoodie like tried to keep him inside the store so you can get your bike, you can get your bike back. Yeah. Okay. And that means you would have three bikes. So you're just going to leave the one your friend borrowed like your the one you borrowed from your friend. You're just going to leave it there? No, I'm giving it back to my other friend. Okay. But, you know, you get what I'm saying. There's three bikes and there's two of you. That's what I'm saying. So, one bike would have to stay there and he would he would have likely I ran my bike back to my friend. I ran the bike back to my friend and I gave I got my bike back. You did that all in in that before he was like locked inside. Like that's what you try guys tried to go through. What are you talking about? You said you took your bike here. So, you went there. You went to that store on foot. I already saw him coming from this way. So, you had already dropped your bike and you were going to go get your bike, right? You had already dropped the bike you borrowed. He was already on the bike. My my friend bike, right? And I had saw him coming through this way. He had saw him too. He like, "That's my bike." Okay. That's my bike. Soon he didn't get off the bike or nothing. He just started going faster to the store. Then that's when we had said, "That's my bike. That's my bike." We went in the store, came outside. I'm trying to get my bike and he came out and tried to fight. Okay. Okay. All right, man. That's all I got for you. Thank you. You're not handcuffs going to be up front for you. It'll be a little more comfortable. Face that way for me. I wasn't there for that. Sir, why' you stand up?
