started um hitting me with his bag on January 6th 2023 at 3:39 p.m. Marshfield police were dispatched to the Perkins Restaurant parking lot on North Central Avenue in Marshfield Wisconsin a frantic call reported a physical altercation involving a Marshfield public transit driver under attack Witnesses stood Frozen as the chaotic scene unfolded turning a quiet afternoon into a moment of sudden tension I think I don't know bad my she heard at all no she's fine it was me he had me had P locked and beat my head against the bar in there I want a pressure Char my boss is on the way down here so frustration remain remained palpable making it clear that cooperation was hard to come by as and he's going to tell me about David a customer he had in his taxi cab and if you could just talk me through the events of today again okay I picked him up at Sunrise Cafe do you remember what time that was roughly 3:30 okay I do believe um and he started I asked him where he was going because we always double check and we need a physical address so the dispatcher put down um the veterinarian clinic I'm in McMillan and E whatever it is out there North Peach okay so and he got our he got right away you start yelling and screaming call me a little that my dispatchers said they could and then they couldn't B tried telling them that because we need a physical address we just cannot drop you off on man Ro we need a physical address that's why they put the veterinarian clinic on there and then he says well you're being a little bit I said no I'm sorry but I says I'm I'm dropping you off at the veterinary no you're going to take me all the way down man Road I says no I that's not what says and he started call me a little and I says you want to take this outside is what he told me and I says well I feel threatened for me and my passenger so radioed from my dispatcher to call the cops and have him meet me at Perkins and then after that he started to try and kick the door down because he wanted to get out was there any damage to the door none that I could see visibly okay um he was trying to kick it open but there was no kicking that door open okay and then he turned around and started um hitting me with his bag as he bag must have flood his hands and then he started with a fist and that's when he started beinging my one side of my head on the metal pulse right behind me and then I had my head down between the door and my body and was wailing on my right side of head with his fist call me and everything else I finally broke through I told D I said if he comes back there I said cwl to the back of the bus or just don't get his way so I was trying to keep him on me so he didn't do anything to her so then as I got I I freed myself from him I got out the door that's when he had turned and ran out the door as he heard the cops come over the sirens and the first cop came and chased him and from there I was told to get back in the bus okay um did you give David permission to hit you or put you in a headlock no I did not okay did you give him permission to cause you any pain no I did not did he cause you pain when he was physic yes I am the hospital with in a lot of pain you are still in a lot of pain right now yep okay and alls you can remember is that he put you in that headlock and you could just feel them punching your head pound pound in my head um like I said I know it hurts up here from I think where he had me down and then my ear and my shoulder just hurts to move it okay all right that's all I need um I'll let you relax and I'm going to go help the guys with him okay okay so I got everything I need from you all right you just rest up and feel better all right the witness a bus driver who had the unfortunate experience of encountering Dave that day recounted the terrifying escalation from verbal to physical violence As for Dave the consequences were severe he faced multiple charges including threats to law enforcement battery resisting arrest possession of disorderly conduct bail jumping and possession of this incident would Mark a turning point in his legal troubles a round of applause for these officers for maintaining their
