So, all in a second. >> Oh, you're you're just going to put your hands behind your back, bud. >> All the stuff that was in your pocket. >> We'll grab a bag and make sure >> I see my phone right quick. Can I make my last phone call before I even get arrested? Look, I'll let you unlock my phone. Look, you can you can do it yourself. No. Can y'all can y'all do it for me? >> Go ahead and let him do it. >> You're not going to detain me. And now take me to the >> Hey everyone, it's Trent, prior deputy sheriff, patrol sergeant, and K9 handler. I've had to go to these types of calls before and this is an incredibly dangerous situation for this victim and her child to be in. And not just because of the domestic violence element, which comes with its own set of dangers, volatility, and unpredictability, but also when there's a child or children involved, the lengths that some parents will go to in order to forcefully take their children back that have been legally taken from their care custody. And based on my experience, some parents do not fully comprehend or understand that fact and think that just because a child is biologically theirs that they can override a judge's ruling. And in doing so, they could potentially get charged and arrested for parental abduction. And it's just a good thing that these officers were able to quickly respond to the scene, locate the suspect, and safely return that child to the mother. And protection and restraining orders might seem like just a piece of paper, and they are by no means perfect. However, they do give law enforcement clear legal authority to act immediately in a lot of these situations, especially when it comes to orders that stem from a prior domestic violence incident or orders that involve custody of children. >> The man was charged with child abduction, home invasion causing injury, violation of an order of protection, and domestic battery, but he remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
