When's the last time you used any? Just be honest. >> A week ago. >> What was it? >> Oh my god. >> On May 12th, 2024 in Mondovi, Wisconsin, Officer Teague was dispatched after several callers reported a driver on the side of the highway, Lindsay, as behaving strangely and even trying to persuade one of them to get into her car. Upon the officer's arrival, the following events occurred. >> You want to step out and talk to me here for a sec? Tell me what's going on. You might have the best vehicle in all of us. >> Can you come Can you come back here for me, please? >> Do you have an ID on you by chance? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> What's going on today? >> Oh, I got a flat tire, but that's okay because >> here, let's go. Let's go talk back here so we're not on the road. So, what's going on? You got a flat tire? >> Yeah. >> None of them look flat to me. >> Oh. Did you hit something? >> No. I mean, a long time ago, >> Lindsay, where are you heading to today? >> Oh, sorry. Uh, where am I heading? >> Yeah. Where are you going? >> I'm trying to uh my parents house. >> Where your parents live? >> And Lake Ali. >> Lake Ali. Where are you coming from right now? >> 12. Highway 12. Or Highway 12. Does that go from like um Claremont to Augusta maybe? >> Yeah, it does. Do you know where you are right now? >> Probably not close to there. Augusta? >> No. >> I saw Augusta somewhere. >> No. >> Where am I? >> You're in Buffalo County right now. >> Oh, yeah. I did. >> You've been uh have you been drinking at all today? >> No, I haven't breathalyzer actually. That might be the last thing that >> Okay. Have you taken any or anything today? >> No. >> Okay. You just kind of seem a little frazzled or something right now. >> Because Okay. Why don't you come stand up here by my bumper? I'm going to just check some stuff on my computer quick and we'll go from there. Okay. >> Upon conducting a records check on Lindsay, Officer Teague discovered her license was revoked due to alcohol-related offenses. Additionally, she had several open criminal cases involving illegal substance abuse. >> Sorry, it took me a while. Oh, I didn't mean to scare you. >> When did you uh change your last name? That's what took me a while cuz I was looking up your new one or your old one >> up on there. >> Yeah, it did on your DOT return. >> Okay. So, so what what number did you run then? >> I ran your old last name, but your license is through your new last name. >> So, >> so walk me through what happened coming up here. Where >> that's the last image I had in my head right there. >> Yeah. >> And that's the clouds right there are like of somebody of like >> you said you said you were on Highway 12, right over by Augusta. Do you remember where you left from? >> What >> do you remember where you left from in Augusta? >> No. >> No. Okay. And you said you're going to your parents house. No, Claire. >> Yeah. Uh Halley >> in Lake Halley. Okay. And then what happened to your vehicle when you were down here? >> I got a flat tire. >> Your tires aren't flat though. >> I know. >> Speaking of but my right front one is the reason why I stopped a long time ago. >> Cuz we got a call that said your car was stopped in the in the middle of the road. >> No, that that must have been renewed somehow when I was not paying attention. >> Okay. So why' the car stop? Because you thought >> Because I got a flat tire. >> So you thought you had a flat tire and you stopped? My I was I was on E. >> Okay. >> And it was saying like I I was driving and driving and driving. >> Sure. Come on back up here. Okay. And you haven't had anything to drink today? You haven't used any today? >> No. >> Would you be willing to go through your field soiety with me just to make sure you're good to drive? Okay. I'm going to pull my car up a little bit here so we can do it on the pavement, not on the grass or on the gravel. Okay. All right. Do you feel pretty steady with your flip flops on or do you want to take them off? We're going to do it up here on this line right here. So you can keep them on if you feel comfortable. Otherwise, you can take them off. Okay. So, you said you haven't drank any alcohol. You haven't used any Have you been to the doctor or dentist in the last 24 hours? Do you have any medical medical conditions that would impair your ability to walk or use your eyes or anything? >> No. >> No. Okay. What I want you to do is I want you to stand with your heels and toes together, arms at your side, just like this. Can you see the tip of my finger? >> Yeah. >> What I want you to do is watch the tip of my finger with your eyes and your eyes only. Do not move your head. Okay. >> There's my breathalyzer going off right now. >> That's all right. The car is already turned off, so it won't do anything. >> No, but it says that I'm sober. All right, go ahead and relax. What I want you to do now, it's the walk-in turn. I want you to take your left foot, put it on this white line right here. >> Okay. >> The left foot. Left foot. That's your right foot. >> Oh, sorry. >> And I want you to take your right foot and put it heel to toe in front of your left foot. Just like this. Keep your arms down at your side and stand just like that while I explain the rest of the test. Okay. What I want you to do, and not before, keep it heel to toe for me. >> Oh, I don't know if I can take shoes off from last year. >> You can take them off if you want to. All right, I'll reexlain it. Left foot on the line, right foot heel to toe in front of your left foot. Try and keep it heel to toe with your arms down by your side. >> That's super. Okay, >> what I want you to do when I tell you to and not before you're going to take three heel to toe steps just like this. One, two, three. I'm only doing three for the example. You're going to do nine. So, you're going to take nine >> with my arms. >> Keep them down by your side. >> Why? >> That's just balance. >> That's just part of the test. You just got to keep them down by your side. So, nine heel to toe steps. I'm only doing three. 1 2 3. When you get to nine, you're going to keep the front foot planted. You're going to take a series of small steps. >> Why would I do all that? >> It's just part of the test. And then you're going to start going back down the line in the opposite direction the way you came. Nine heel to toe steps. One, two, three. So, it's nine heel to toe steps. Keep your front foot planted, a series of small steps, and then go backwards or um go back the direction that you came. Okay. While you're doing that, watch your toes. Count out loud. Keep your hands down by your side, and don't stop until you've completed the test. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. You can begin. One, two, three. Then what? >> Keep going. Keep nine steps. >> It's my ankle. >> I had a a compartment fracture syndrome last. See how it doesn't bend right there? >> Okay, that's fine. Do as Do as best as you can. >> Yeah, that's why. And then a series of small steps until you're facing this way. And then nine more steps. What? No. Three. >> Just nine steps. >> Okay. Just don't fall. All right. >> Yeah. >> Stand back up here where it's flat. I don't want you to trip on any rocks out here. And the last one, it doesn't have any walking in it, so it shouldn't affect your ankle. Okay? Keep those off. >> Okay? >> Cuz I I I don't want you to uh >> go to jail. >> Well, I don't want you to like trip or anything. >> Right. Right. >> The last one we're going to do is the one leg stand. So, you're going to take whatever leg you're going to do better with. So, if your if your right leg is bad, if you feel like you want to lift that one up in the air, you can. Otherwise, you can lift your left leg. >> One f first. >> Whatever one you feel most comfortable doing. So, don't do it yet. Just let me explain what you're going to do. Okay? When I tell you to and not before, you're going to take whatever leg you prefer. So, I'm going to use my right leg, but you don't have to. You're going to raise it approximately 6 in off the ground, just like this. You're going to count out loud. 1,00 1,002 1,003. Watch my foot so you know what to do. 1,004 until I tell you to stop. Okay. When you're doing that, watch your foot. Keep it about 6 in off the ground and keep your hands down by your side. Don't stop until I tell you to. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. You can start. >> What was I doing? You're raising one foot off the ground 6 in. >> Oh, limiting myself >> every time I blink. >> All right, you can go ahead. You can go ahead and stop. You can put your shoes back on in case that's hurting your feet. >> Thank you. >> When's the last time you used any? Just be honest. >> A week ago. >> What was it? >> You haven't used any since then? No. >> Do you have any mental conditions? >> I'm glad I didn't. >> So, I'm just kind of confused on what's going on today cuz to me right now it seems like Yeah, >> it seems like you're under. So, are there >> thinking of um Are you a Christian? >> I don't talk about religion when I'm at work. >> Okay. >> Is there anything in the vehicle that's not supposed to be in there? Any paraphernalia, pipes, large amounts of money over $12,000? >> No. >> Would you mind if I check the vehicle for any of those things? Go ahead. >> All right. Is your phone working? >> Um, wait. I don't have one. >> Where's your phone at? >> Um, they took it. >> Who? >> Um, the free thinkers. It's okay though, so you don't need that. >> You can hold You can talk to me through my window right here. >> Oh, for not going um so stupid to >> the driver's safety plan. >> Oh yeah. Yep. I didn't know that. >> It looks like it was revoked because of the OWI that was uh back in 2021. >> Yeah. >> Are you working on getting that taken care of? >> I mean, I just found out like a couple days ago. Like I literally just opened my mail like 2 days ago, 3 days ago. So, >> and that's when you found out. >> Okay. >> Officer Teague would then proceed to search Lindsay's vehicle. After finding nothing of significance, he moved on to the final step of this interaction. >> All right, Lindsay. So, here's the deal. I believe you're under the influence of some kind of right now. >> Okay. >> When's the last time you smoked? >> Um, May 8th. >> May 8th. You didn't smoke at all today? That was 4 days agoish. You weren't using earlier today. Okay. Because unless you can give me some other explanation on why you're kind of in the state of mind you're in right now, I believe that you were used earlier today. >> What kind of state of mind am I or I'm completely fine? >> Well, you just kind of you seem jittery. >> No, >> you do. >> No, >> you do. >> Vibrations. >> You just kind of all over the place right now. >> I am. >> Yeah. Not emotionally. Just, you know, your verbiage is all over the place. You're kind of offbalance a little bit. I know you said you got a bad ankle, but you couldn't really follow instructions. I was giving them I don't believe you're safe to operating a motor vehicle right now. >> Because why? >> Because of the the the test that I made you do. >> Yeah. I failed. >> You did? Yeah. >> Oh. >> And then when you were driving your car, you said you got a flat tire. None of the tires are flat. >> I know. We were going to get to that when I thought you were on the same wavelength, but apparently not. >> Get to what? >> On my tire. Figure that thing out. >> All right. So, what we're going to do right now is walk over to my door right here. I'm going to put you in handcuffs in front of your body so they're not pinched behind your back. Okay. >> I don't want this. >> Okay. I can put this back in your car if you want me to. >> No, I want me. >> No, it can't be on you. Can you do me a favor and hold on to that right there? [Music] You can let go of that. Go and put one of this right there. Other right here. Go ahead and take a seat right there for me, please. >> Lindsay, can you hear me? >> Yeah. >> I have to read this form to you. Under Wisconsin's implied consent law, I'm required to read this notice to you. You have either been arrested for an offense that involves driving or operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or both. Will you submit to an evidentary chemical test of your blood? Yes or no? >> Did you read the animal? Nope, I haven't. >> Um, I'll take the third uh third choice about taking it at someone else's house. Free of my charge. >> Well, we can only take it at a hospital. >> No, you already offered me one that said I could take it at home free of at my at my cost. >> No, it's not at anybody's >> Yeah, you did. >> It's not at anybody's houses. >> Listen, this is my third time as backup car. >> Do you want me to reread that section? >> They they they adopt the statutes based on my answers. >> Do you want me to reread that section? >> Yeah. If you take all of the requested tests about that, >> this law enforcement agency now wants to test one or more samples of your breath or urine to determine the >> con right now. >> But I got to do it to the hospital. >> Well, no. I mean, I'm just saying >> I can't take your blood here. >> Well, I know. But that that'd be stupid. >> Yeah. >> I have a breathalyzer in my car. You haven't even checked. >> Yeah, but I'm not That's not a breathalyzer I can use. >> Why? It'll show you that I'm passing as I'm driving. >> That's That's >> or as we were sitting there. >> Okay. If you don't agree to what I read, I have to put no unless you're >> full. Look at my breathalyzer. >> Okay. That's not >> an option. That's not what we're doing. >> Do it. >> That's not what we're doing. >> That's an option. It would not be a We would not be in handcuffs right now. >> Okay. So, we're going to go with no. >> He's not making good like side choices here. Lindsay, if you don't agree, I'm going to put no. >> You can't You can't do that to me. >> Do what? >> Just say no when I I'm telling you. >> It's a yes or no question. >> No, it's not. >> It is. >> But that's not what the question was. >> The question multiple options. >> The question is, will you submit to an evidentary chemical test of your >> No, that's not the test. >> So, are you saying no? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Due to Lindsay's refusal, a warrant was approved by a judge to extract some of Lindsay's blood for chemical testing, which was resolved to be done at the county jail. Do >> you have a jacket or anything that you can put on? Cuz otherwise, it gets tight and it can see you come with a jacket or dude, it's middle of summer. Oh my god. Uh, don't touch me. You're pissing me off at this point. Listen, literally, >> you're seriously the worst nurse in the world. Oh, how are you even working on? No, we're not going to keep sitting down for you to poke me for 10 times. >> Get your hands like near my area away from it. >> We have a warrant to draw your blood. So, we hold you down. >> I don't give a We're drawing your blood. >> Okay, then let's sit down. >> Okay. Why don't you stop telling me what to do? >> No. Sit down. >> No, just sit down. >> You told me that last time and I didn't sit down. Watch out. >> Please. Just please sit down. We don't want to have to hold you down. >> No, you didn't. >> We don't We don't want to have to hold you. >> I don't care. She's annoying as dude. Okay, let's sit and she'll draw your blood. >> Oh yeah, let's do this for 10 more hours cuz you guys have nothing better to do, right? >> A nurse really bad at her job, but you guys just stare at her feet. [Music] [Music] Okay, you've got to stop, dude. >> All right. Hurts. >> Okay. Like, is that your is that your scare tactic here to see all tight? You can tie that around me. >> I need What is it? Oh, it's so hard, isn't it? >> Okay. You do you take phbotomy for fun? Cuz I did. I mean, take nursing. You're take You can't even do, dude. >> So, I can look at her feet, too. I mean, we can draw from her. >> Oh my god. I am not doing this. You're giving me anxiety like a mother. >> Mutual. Whatever you think is >> Well, I wonder why you can't. Don't you dare. Dude, what a weirdo. Dude, get off of my arm. >> She's not going to hold still. And >> hold still. I agreed to this a long time ago. You don't have to agree because I know just hold stealth. >> So stop doing it. It'll be >> I'm refusing when I say stop. >> Do you hear that? >> We have a warrant. It doesn't matter. >> You Oh my god, dude. >> It'll be easier. >> You guys are really hurting me. >> I'm not moving. >> Okay, then let her draw and we'll be done. >> No. Get your ar get your little wrist off of my dude. Not you. Her. Her. She's holding on to my wrist for no reason right now and it's irritating me. Get your hand off of me. >> Are you going to hold still? >> Am I holding still? >> Can I look at her wrist? >> Yeah. I mean, she doesn't >> If I let go, you're going to stay here. Okay. >> Dude, you got to take this off. >> Holy. Dude, I can't even feel my fingers. >> Put your hand on or >> I'm not going to put that back down on my lip without it. >> Let go of me. Everybody. Nobody touch me. >> Nobody's touching you right now. >> Nobody touch me. >> Just stay sitting. >> Get what you sit down. >> Oh my god. You guys are awful people. >> Stop. >> You want there? >> Just let her get the blood and we'll be done. >> I refused. >> That's why he has a warrant. >> Okay. >> You called the judge and you got a warrant. >> Well, give me a bottomist who knows what the they're doing. >> She knows what she's doing. >> Well, then why has she not found a vein? >> Just hold still. or use the piss test. >> You got to hold still. >> Okay, you guys are there for that part. [Music] >> I don't know what to do. >> Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. >> Jesus. Look at >> that makes you super sensitive, ma'am. >> Yeah, you. >> Okay. Well, that's going to bleed. So, >> you seriously have rage issues, dude. Just so you know, it's being recorded in here. Okay. >> I don't. Do you want to look? >> All right. Just sit down. >> Don't tell me to sit down again. Get out of here. Joke's over. >> It's not a joke. >> Yeah, it is. It's a big joke. >> Just sit down. >> I'm not doing this. Let me out of here. Get out of my way. >> We have a war. >> I don't care. Shut up, dude. You guys are insane. Sit down. Oh my god, I'm a big ass. Sit down. Sit. Biting. No, not biting. Get off of me. Ouch. Get your fingers off me, you crazy. >> Open your face. >> Let me double lock these so >> it's on my lid. And it didn't get in my eye. >> It's all the way down your nose, though. >> Yeah. Thanks. >> That's a new charge for you. That's a felony. >> Well, it's called self-defense. >> My camera's in there somewhere else. >> We'll find it. [Music] It was explained here that we have a warrant. Okay. In that warrant, we can use the force necessary to get your blood. That's why we gave you the chance to be cooperative and do it by your own. Okay, >> that makes so much logical sense. >> You get the blood. >> Wow. >> Per the judge. It's the judge's wishes. >> You just stay, >> dude. I need a different nurse. >> This is our nurse. >> I need a different one. >> This is our nurse. >> Okay. Well, she needs deodorant. >> She draws blood all the time. >> Bad. >> Probably better than I do, though. It was ultimately decided to have Lindsay instead be taken to the hospital where her blood was then successfully drawn after she was transported back to and booked into the county jail. Lindsay was found guilty in court of battery to a law enforcement officer and owi second offense, although she was also charged with discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker as well as operating with a revoked license. These were ultimately dropped. She was sentenced to serve 15 days in the local jail, was put on probation for 3 years, and had her driver's license revoked for 12 months. Additionally, she was obligated to pay over $1,700 in fines. Please consider showing your support by liking this video.
