Stop moving. >> Let go of me. >> Let your hands go of me right now. >> Stop moving. >> Let your hands go of me right now. >> Stop moving. Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Go. Why are you grabbing my hair? >> Why are you grabbing my hair? >> Why are you grabbing my hair? >> On January 8th, 2026, [music] the streets of Key West got a little more chaotic than usual. Officers responded to reports of an intoxicated woman screaming at random strangers and [music] generally acting like she owned the sidewalk. I think it is safe to say she was having a main character moment that nobody asked for. She was found wandering with a dog named Melvis and her grip on reality was about as loose as her leash. The night was just getting started. Better >> than me, [ __ ] >> What's going on? Why are you yelling, man? >> Because >> Because of what? Tell me what happened. >> Well, nothing happened. >> Why are you yelling? >> I'm not yelling. >> I can hear it from like a block away. >> We're so loud. I agree. >> What's going on? >> It could be loud like that. >> What's going on? >> Nothing. >> Don't walk away from me. Ma'am, do not walk away from me. I'll put you in handcuffs. >> You guys all right? What happened? She was trying to bike with the dog. >> Please don't let her have the dog. >> Okay. >> I might think that the dog needs some water. >> Okay. >> So, what what's going on? Is that Is that your dog? I'm asking a question. Is that your dog or not? >> I think so. >> You think so or it's not? Or or I need to call SPCs so they can just take take the dog. Is that your dog or not? Ma'am, if you're not going to answer, I'm going to call SPCA and they and they're going to take the dog. >> You want to do that? Let me ask you a question. You You want to do that? >> What question are you asking me? >> Is that your dog? >> Yes. >> Okay. Where are you staying, ma'am? >> I stay at 5 road. There should be four numbers of road. Are you staying? >> What's that? Is that a apartment complex or what is it? >> Is is that apartment complex or is it what is it? I mean, I don't know why you're asking me to qualify it for anything other than what I know it as. Ma'am, if you have to think about whether a dog is yours, you probably shouldn't be the one holding the leash in public. It is pathetic that the officers had to threaten to call the SPCA just to get a straight answer out of her. You acted like providing an address was a complex [music] riddle rather than a basic requirement of a police interaction. The dog seemed much more cooperative than its supposed owner. >> Okay. So, how how you going to get home? >> I'm going to call Uber like I always do. >> Okay. What happened here? Why you start yelling at these people? >> The only thing that happened here was they asked me to take their picture. They wanted me to take their picture from here to this part. And I said, "Okay." >> Um, I had taken my own picture from this part to that part. And I said, "Out of 10, 11 of them will exist." >> Okay. >> Am I free to go? >> No, not yet. >> What do you mean no? Not yet. >> Not yet. >> What do you mean no yet? This is public property. >> No, it's not. It's actually private property. >> This is private? Yeah. And I'm friends with private property. >> I don't care who your friend are. >> Okay. >> Just stay right here. Okay. >> For what? >> We're investigating disorderly conduct. Possible animal abuse. All right. >> Animal abuse. Possible animal abuse. >> That's your reasoning of being right now, eh? >> Mhm. >> Okay. I'm going to let myself go now. >> No, you're not. So, >> no, I'm not. >> You have no right to detain me, my friend. >> How you going to get home? >> I'm I'm going to walk the way I always do every >> road all the way to >> I don't live on college road. I don't know where you came up with college road. That's your decision, not mine. >> You just told me you live five. >> No, you asked my address. >> Yes. >> Okay. Am I free to go? >> Just give me one second. All right. >> No. Am I free to go? >> No, you're not. >> Where? Right here. >> For what? >> I'm going to put you in handcuffs. >> Sit down. >> For what? >> Sit down for animal. Sit down. >> For animal abuse. >> Yes. >> Animal abuse. >> Sit down. >> Ma'am, your friendship with private property doesn't actually grant you power from trespassing laws, no matter [music] how many drinks you've had. I think it is bold to tell a police officer you are letting yourself go while being investigated for disorderly conduct. [music] The whole interaction showed her to be uncooperative and made a simple check much more difficult than it needed to be. >> So listen, officer right there, he's very good with the animals. If he got to tell me your dog is good, you'll be free to go. All right. >> My dog is good. >> Okay, I'm going to ask him because you are intoxicated. >> Hello. >> Hi. So listen, >> she was yelling on the people for whatever reason. They were worried about the dog, not about her. >> Not anybody. >> Okay. >> If you if you tell me the dog is fine, she can go home. I don't care. >> Where do you live? >> Road. >> What's your dog's name? >> Melvis. >> Melvin. >> Elvis with an M. >> I like that. >> I've retired him. Um I just got his owner's ashes as of today. >> You got his owner's ashes? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> What you got the shirt on for? >> Um, he was promoted. We were making a joke. Melvis was promoted. Uh, salary. >> Okay. >> And it's Key West prom. So that's it. >> Okay. >> We're waiting on Vince. Vince is at the gym right over yonder. And I'll just be making myself hoarder that way. >> This is your bike. >> This is my bicycle. That's correct. Am I free to go? >> All right, you're free to go. >> Thank you. I thought so. >> Have a good night. >> Have a good night, ma'am. >> Until next time. >> Yeah, just >> hope there is a next. >> As she walked away, looking like she was finally leaving, the officers [music] turned off their body cameras. In that brief moment, the arrest report notes she [music] dropped the leash and the dog bolted straight back toward the officers, diving under a nearby bench for cover. To keep the [music] dog safe, they decided it needed a responsible handler. They called her boyfriend, and the [music] footage started again once he arrived to take custody. >> You're not free to leave, ma'am. Let's give Let's give Vince your dog your dog's leash. Okay, Vince, do you mind taking it >> if she doesn't mind? If you don't if you're going to keep doing this, you're going to go in handcuffs >> for because you're not lawful cuz you're not you're not you're not allowing us to do our our investigation. >> What is your investigation? >> You're trespassing. We have a trespass sign right here. Left this property. It doesn't matter. >> Exactly. >> She But she was still on it. >> Stop moving. >> Let go of me. Stop moving. >> Let your hands go me right now. >> Stop moving. >> Let your hands go me right now. Watch your hands. >> Let's do this peacefully, please. >> Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. >> Since you don't want to do this peacefully, >> do what? Peacefully. >> Let us do our investigation. >> What is your investigation? >> I already told you. >> You have not told me anything. >> Walk away. >> You have not told me anything. What's going on right now? >> Take a seat. Let go. >> I like the scam. >> Take a seat or what? >> You're going to end up in jail. >> Let go of your hand off my neck. Let your hand go off my neck. >> Let your hand go off my neck. >> Let your hand go off my neck. >> Okay. Come on. Hold on. >> Not fooling anybody. >> Take a seat. >> Get in the car. >> For what? >> Get in the car. >> For what? >> Get in the car. >> What is going on right now? >> Get in the car. >> Sit down. Look all the way here. All the way now. So, do you want to play the game? >> I'm not playing any game. >> What's your name? >> What is your name, ma'am? Not going to ask you again. >> Ma'am, what is your name? >> Why? I don't even understand why I'm in I can put her in my truck right now. Nope. It's too late. A few hours. >> It's too late for that. She's going to jail >> for resisting. I gave her >> We have a trespass sign right there. >> Calm down. I know you just physical. >> So, I'm trying to explain to you though. >> Okay. >> We have a a trespass sign right there. Right. >> Okay. So that gives us legal reasoning to complete an investigation. She's out here causing a scene. We got called out here, right? So after putting her in the cop car, the officers went to her boyfriend [music] who immediately tried to play lawyer and only made things worse. Sir, arguing that resisting arrest is circular reasoning doesn't change the fact that your girlfriend was acting like a maniac. The officers stayed patient, clearly explaining Florida law to a guy who probably never read it. She chose chaos and now she's headed straight to jail. >> We're trying to do this peacefully as you saw, right? Me, too. Which I just needed her name. She wouldn't give it to me. It's all I needed. >> That's the dog. That's the dog's back. He needs it. >> No, that's that's for like medications and stuff. >> That's for him. >> Everything that's his. So, it was on her person. Okay. So, we had to we have to search incident to arrest. Okay. But as long as it's all like for the dog, >> cool. We'll we'll hand it off to you. >> No harm, no foul. >> But I was giving her lawful commands to do something. She was not complying with these commands. So, that goes under Florida statute for resisting or obstruction without violence. >> Okay. >> She doesn't want to give me her name. She doesn't want to comply with lawful commands. >> Okay, head straight. >> I I don't want to argue with you. I just want to point out that resisting arrest as a single charge is circular reasoning. >> There's got to be an initial charge and she was resisting the arrest for >> trespassing. >> But the only reason she was here is because she was interacting with you guys. >> No, we got said she was here before us. >> Okay. But she was willing to leave when you said and you told her she's not allowed to leave. >> Yes, she was at that time she's not allowed to leave cuz we're conducting a lawful investigation. >> You understand? >> I do understand. Can I ask you kindly >> ask you kindly to let me put her in my truck and she's >> sir, are you able to take care of this dog or we need to call SPC? >> No, I'm able to take care of him, but she he'll cry all night. >> It's okay. It's too late for that though. She made her decision. I So I asked you, is she normally like this? What is she? What's her like typical demeanor? Like that kind of thing. Just a simple, >> hey, what is your name? >> That that that would have sufficed. That's literally all that we needed. >> Mhm. >> And then she could have been on her day about her day if she would have just complied. But she did not want to comply. >> I'm not a lawyer, but not answering your question doesn't constitute for resisting arrest. Look it. Look it up. Look up. Resisting without violence. Mhm. >> The officer explained the trespassing statute clearly. Yet, he chose to argue the semantics of city property and leases. Sir, I think it is cute that you believe not giving a name isn't resisting. But in Florida, obstructing an investigation is a one-way ticket to jail. [music] It's a bold strategy to lecture the police on circular reasoning while your partner is busy kicking the inside of their vehicle. You guys live together? >> Do you want to? We can ask her to. >> If she doesn't answer, it's got to go with her. >> But if she does, then you can take it. >> Okay. >> So, let me ask her. >> Telling you this. >> That's okay. Is your husband allowed to take your things with him, boyfriend? You're not allowed to get out. >> You're not allowed to. Is your husband allowed to take your stuff with him? Just a yes or no? >> Yes. >> Okay. I know. >> So, she can take care. >> Yeah. So, you're allowed to take everything. We're going to put it all back in there and send you on your way. Okay. But we I don't want you guys to be here much long for very much longer because we have to get her back out. We have to search her and then we have to transport her to the jail. But I don't want you guys to be here for that cuz I don't want her to get riled up. You understand? I want to try to do this as peacefully as possible with as low restraint as as we can. So, and I think having the dog around will do that. >> And again, sir, she will be released tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She's going to spend night there, but when people calling us and I came here, she was yelling. It's like it's this early coming. So, we can go on and on. >> Yeah. It's like, yeah, where are those people? I believe it happened. But the left when they were all here and they were worried about the dogs. They tell me officer, please take care of this dog. They were more worried about the dog than her. >> And then Well, so they worried about the dog. They didn't complain about her being mean. I mean, it's not a crime to be mean. >> All right. I'm going to ask you to leave, sir. Okay. Right. >> Come on now. This >> She'll be back tomorrow 9:00 a.m. >> So that means like no charges just to hold for tonight. >> No. I mean, >> no, she's still going to get the charges, but she'll probably get Don't she'll get released more than likely. The bond will be >> 9:00 a.m. So, I should be stuck. >> The boyfriend continued to argue about the placement of the trespassing sign as if a few feet of red brick changes the law. I think it is amazing that he was more concerned with the city property lease than [music] the fact that his girlfriend was acting out of control. Ultimately, the plan was to transport her to jail for the night and release her the next morning around 9:00 a.m. The officers remained professional and tried to minimize conflict [music] even though the woman was being difficult. >> You can probably just call them just in the morning in the morning. >> Yeah, she can pull you from there. >> Okay. >> And they'll be able to They'll tell they'll be able to tell you more than what I can tell you. You know what I mean? So, cuz once she's in their custody, I have nothing to do with anymore. All right. So, uh, thank you for your cooperation. We appreciate it. Much more than you think. So, >> all right, buddy. Have a good one. >> Um, you said you have a bike or a car. >> Yeah. Yeah. Well, both. >> So, there's a >> This is I will log that up. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Let me just get mine and then I get this. I'll be back in a few minutes. >> All right. No problem. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm going All right, step out. We need to search you before we go to the jail. You're going to get back in the car, though. Step out. >> What do you mean before I go to the jail? >> You're going to jail tonight. Step out >> for what? >> I already told you. Step out. >> You didn't tell me anything. >> Easiest thing. Step out. Sh is just a simple mist. All right. It's not what you're doing. It's not. >> It is a big deal. >> No, you didn't. You should have just listened. >> I listened to everything. >> Let's Let's remove this. >> Is there anything illegal in that back? >> Vince, can Vince, can you come take this back? >> We have to search it actually first. >> That's not >> You're taking me to jail, not letting me go. >> Yes. That's exactly what we're doing. >> Stop. Stop moving. [ __ ] come take my bag with my money. >> Stop moving. >> The officer gave her multiple warnings that she was going to get tazed if she didn't get her legs inside the car. Ma'am, when a cop tells you a taser is coming, that is usually the cue to stop playing games and move your feet. I think it is mindblowing that she continued [music] to scream for her fanny pack instead of worrying about the electricity about to hit her skin. She was pushing your luck to the absolute limit and the officers were officially out of peaceful options. >> Vince, come take my money. >> Stop moving. >> I have you'll get more charges. Stop >> for what? >> Resisting. You keep pulling. I'll wait. Don't touch it. You have anything on you, ma'am? >> No. All right. I think she's good. >> No. No. >> Oh, we got a double. >> Vince, COME GET MY [ __ ] FANNY PACK with my cash >> before. They're twisting my wrist. Vince, come get my fanny pack right here. >> Stop. >> Vince, >> stop. >> Beefcake, >> stop. Beefcake. >> Beefcake. My fanny pack is right here. Come get it. >> He will come get it. >> VINCE, PLEASE COME GET MY FANNY PACK. MA'AM, get in the car. I'm not going to ask you again. I'm If you don't get in the car, you're going to get tased. >> Get inside. >> You're going to get tased if you don't get in the car. >> Vince, please come get my fanny pack. It's right here. >> Get in the car. Ma'am, get in the car inside. location. >> The moment the taser was deployed, she decided that kicking officers was a good alternative to sitting down. I think it is hilarious that she tried to argue she wasn't kicking them while her feet were actively making contact. Finally, a cop [music] had to use force because her nasty behavior turned into a violent struggle that no one wanted. All right. >> Stand up, >> [ __ ] Get my fanny pack right here. Please grab it. It's right here. >> Get inside. >> Get in the [ __ ] car. Easy. You're going to get more charges. >> Get in the car. >> Go with my hair. Like, go. Why are you grabbing my hair? Get in the car. >> Why are YOU GRABBING MY HAIR? Why are you grabbing my hair, >> [ __ ] Grab my fanny pack right there. >> I grabbed it. I got it. >> Please grab it. >> Stop kicking me. I'm not kicking in the car. I'm not kicking you. You know I'm not kicking you. >> You just did. >> No, I didn't. You know I didn't. >> Quit breaking my toes. >> Then get in the car. That's not how >> all your supervisor's coming. >> Then good. Then chill out. >> No, nobody. >> We'll wait until he gets here. Put your hands. >> No. >> Supervisor is coming. >> Then we'll wait. >> Don't kick me. All right. >> I'm not kicking you. Nobody will be pepper spray. >> Nobody's kicking you. >> Nobody's kicking you. >> Your heads. >> We'll wait. We'll wait for him. >> We'll wait. >> We'll wait. We're here waiting. All of us are here patiently waiting. >> Your legs inside. >> Put your legs inside. and we're going to wait for supervisor. Would you legs inside? >> She argued and denied kicking even while struggling with the officers. The situation was tense, but the officers stayed professional and patient. [music] They decided to wait for a supervisor to arrive before moving her. Everyone remained calm and waited, trying not to escalate the situation. It [music] was clear she was extremely intoxicated and she likely needed medical attention for alcohol poisoning. >> [singing] >> Did you pick up my fanny pack? >> Okay. >> Put your legs inside. >> Hear me? >> Since you already did that. You want to do it for a tie? >> What? >> Try standing tie. Yeah, cuz you you already stop. >> I did her back. >> So I didn't do a damn thing. I'm not supposed to check. >> Okay, get in the car. >> Excuse me again cuz you did my back and I didn't do a damn thing. No, you're waiting on YOUR SUPERVISOR. WE'RE WAITING ON YOUR NOW YOU'RE GOING TO DO MY THIGH BECAUSE YOU'RE NO, THERE HE IS RIGHT THERE. >> Get in the car. >> No, we're waiting for your supervisor. >> Get in the car. >> Why are you tasing me when we supervisor? You're in the car. >> You're personally tasing me in the car. I will tase you again. >> And he's right there. And he's right there. That's not him. >> Okay. >> Get in the car. >> But we're waiting for him. >> Okay. Get in the car. >> We're waiting for him. >> Do not kick me in the dick. >> No, I'm not kicking you in the dick. >> I'm going to take you. >> YOU'RE NOT GOING TO. NO, >> YOU'RE NOT. IT DIDN'T WORK. >> Get in the car. >> We're waiting on your supervisor. >> Okay, then. Okay. This way. It's in my car. Ma'am, put your legs inside. >> Put my leg what? >> Put your legs inside. The >> supervisor is coming. We're not going to go anywhere. Don't worry. But we need to close this door. We're going to stay right here until our supervisor gets here and then he's going to have to come talk to you. So either way, we just need to close the door. That's it. That's all it is. >> She kept resisting and [music] tried to kick or spit while the officers patiently reminded her to put her legs inside the car and stay calm. They didn't rush or escalate the situation, focusing on keeping it [music] safe for everyone. The officers waited for the supervisor while keeping her in the car. They [music] explained that they just needed to close the door and handle the situation properly. Throughout, it was clear she was very intoxicated and her behavior raised concerns about her ability to safely care for the dog. >> Look, man. Can you just tell me who she is? What's her >> I'm really sorry if she doesn't answer a question. I'm not authorized to answer it for her. >> I just need to know who she is. She's your She's your boyfriend. So, >> she's my girlfriend. >> Oh, yeah. You're her boyfriend. That's what I meant to say. >> I just need to know a name and her birthday. >> Even if I gave it to you, that wouldn't be official information cuz it's not from the arrested person. >> Either way, I Yes, but we have an idea of who she is. She either way they're going to have to rapid ID her at the jail. It's >> Well, let them do that. I'm sorry. I'm not I'm not authorized. She doesn't want to. >> It's all right. But now I'm going to ask you have to ask you to leave. Okay. >> I'm 25 ft away and I'm not talking to you. I'm not >> I'm going to ask you I'm going to ask you to leave though. Okay. >> It's all just >> Okay. Just to clarify what I heard twice while I was locking up the bike. It wasn't a taser. Right. >> What do you mean? >> I heard two zaps. >> Oh, she got tased. Yeah, >> she got tased for trespassing. >> No, cuz she was kicking us. >> So, she's going to get charged with a felony today. >> The boyfriend was still there trying to be a constitutional scholar while his girlfriend was getting fried. I loved how the officer told him he wasn't authorized to answer for her. It's her identity, her problem. The cop was actually doing them a favor by asking for her info to speed things up, but these two were committed to being difficult. The officer finally told the boyfriend to kick rocks because his presence was only making her performance more dramatic. >> Ma'am, get out of the vehicle, please. >> Ma'am, please step out of the vehicle. >> Give me my shoe. >> Okay, I will get your shoe is right here. No. Are you asking me to step on that? That's >> Yes, your shoe is >> That's too much. Give me my shoe right where my foot leaves. Come on now. Put your shoe on. Okay, fine. Put your shoe on. I don't care. walk. Get up. Get up. Come on. Let's go. Get up. Get up. >> Yeah. Can you give me a second? >> You got some in here. >> Where are they? >> Passenger seat. >> Ma'am, please stand up. Ma'am 94, can you note in cab that she's resisting again? Get up. Get up, please. Stand up. Be a grown woman and stand up. Come on. stand up. >> We're not 5 years old. >> After the taser was used and she kept resisting, the officers [music] transported her to the hospital as a precaution, following department policy. It [music] was clear she had pushed things too far, and the extra step was just to make sure no one got seriously hurt. Her [music] chaos had consequences, and even the pros had to play it safe. Get in the car. >> Oh, get in. >> I'm going to the hospital. >> You're right here. Get in the car. I request medical attention as of right now. >> You got it. Remember when you kicked the dirt? >> Yeah, that's a [ __ ] work. Well, there's resisting charges. Okay. >> At the hospital, things did not calm down at all. The report says she kept being aggressive. She yelled bad words, [music] attacked the staff, and even kicked the officers. A nurse decided to press charges after being [music] kicked while protecting other nurses. At the end of the day, this was a situation that should have ended with a simple walk home. Instead, her refusal to follow basic instructions, and her need to be the center of attention led to multiple taser [music] deployments, and a trip to the county jail. She was booked on four felony counts of battery on law enforcement, one felony count of resisting an officer with violence, three misdemeanor counts of resisting without violence, and one misdemeanor count of assault by threat for verbal threats made while in custody. Bond was set at $60,000 and [music] posted the next day, leading to her release. Her arraignment is scheduled for later in January, and as of now, the case is [music] still pending with no please entered or charges resolved. >> [music] >> If you enjoyed watching this master class in bad decisions, make sure to like, share, and subscribe for more recaps.
