on January 14th 2024 officers in Florida received a call from a man reporting his mother was attempting to drive to her hotel after drinking at a local restaurant here's what the officers did next police this is Bri okay you're at the Columbia Restaurant what's going on there uh yes uh my mother needs to not be driving her car it's a silver SUV with kayak holders on top she is pulling out and trying to drive off uh she is extremely intoxicated this is your mother uh yes oh okay is she leaving now in the vehicle uh she just stepped out of the car okay uh uh yeah she is trying to drive off and where is your mother now is she driven off yet uh she's still in the driver's seat in the car in front of me um hopefully just nagging at my dad instead of trying to drive off how are you that's great how are you good good what's going on today I don't know what's up with you did you is there anybody else in a car with you my husband your husband okay is your son around here he's over there he's the one on the phone okay so ma'am just so you know uh somebody called and said that you were intoxicated right behind the the wheel of the vehicle so I'm just want to make sure everything's okay $1,000 bond which she later posted in court the suspect's charge of DUI was reduced to reckless driving the suspect initially pleaded not guilty to both charges later amending her plea to no contest to resisting an officer without violence and pleading guilty to reckless driving the suspect was found guilty of both charges and was sentenced to 50 hours of community service alongside attending a DUI school the suspect was ordered to pay $543 in fines in $50 in cour cost [Music]
