My daughter's in the car. You tripping. How you older than me and you leaving? If I hear you, why would you leave the scene? Let's get your paper. >> The scene. I'm here. >> Let's So why am I chasing you? Let's get your paper. >> [ __ ] >> On December 3rd, 2024, what should have been a minor fender bender in Patterson [music] City turned into a nightmare. After colliding with another car, the suspect decided that driving off was a better plan than exchanging insurance info. >> [music] >> When the victim tried to stop her, things went from bad to worse. This wasn't just a hit and run. It was a total [music] ego trip where common sense went to die. At the end of the day, [music] one was headed for a trauma ward with a crushed waist, and the other was fast-tracking her way to a jail [music] cell. >> This [ __ ] >> we tripping. We tripping. Get yourself. Get anybody. You hit me, my >> obviously. You trying to run away. >> No, I'm not. >> I need papers now. You do have papers. I'm not running away from here. >> Let's go. Thank you, puppy. >> All right. And you real crazy. >> I am. I really am. My daughter's in the car. You tripping. How you older than me and you leaving? >> How you older than me and you're leaving? >> I'm not trying to >> Don't touch me. Don't touch. So, let's get the paper. >> Let's get the paper. How I hit you? >> So, if I hit you, why would you leave the scene? >> If I hit you, why would you leave the scene? Let's get the paper. Let's So why am I chasing you? Let's get to the paper. Let's get to the papers. I guess nobody going nowhere. I guess nobody going nowhere. I guess nobody going nowhere. I got time. He obviously not moving. Move back. Nobody going nowhere. We going to have to hit me today. Go ahead. Go ahead. Oops. I get right under your car. I'll get right under your car. I'll get right under your car. [ __ ] I'm going to stay on this floor. [ __ ] hit me. She gonna have to hit me. Look y'all, I'm reporting everything. You gonna have to hit me. >> You gonna have to hit me. You gonna have to hit me. And I'mma press charges. And I'mma press charges. And I'mma press charges. And I'mma press charges. And I'mma press charges. >> [ __ ] >> No. Lay here. Lay here. Lay here. Don't move. >> My daughter's in a car. >> Don't move. have no number. Let me have someone's number. >> Let me have >> Yes. Let me have someone number. >> Yeah, the baby's okay. Can I have a phone number? >> Yeah. Stay right there. >> Whatever. >> Whoever send me a number. Give me a number. >> Give me I don't know what number. I can't think. >> The suspect was definitely wrong for trying to flee, but the victim was out here doing way too much. She literally told the lady to hit her and threatened [music] to get under the car. Honestly, if you beg someone to run you over, don't act shocked when they actually take the invitation. She was so busy being a tough guy in front of her kid that she forgot cars are made of steel and humans are made of mistakes. >> Oh, it says my baby. >> Just tell them we're in front of 41 Grand. >> 401 Grand. >> Show him the pictures of the of the of the >> Is that the piece of a car or something? >> Yeah, don't even worry about it. Traffic is building up. I don't I don't want to move her. Her leg is possibly broken. >> Somebody just hit my car and tried to run off and I recorded this [ __ ] ran over me with her car. >> This [ __ ] ran over me with her car. >> Does anybody have anything? What do we have? >> Wait, >> uh there's video. People have videos, but I'm just taking care of her right now. So, if we can get another officer here, we can start uh getting a description. >> Yeah. >> Actually, I'm looking at her video right now. Let me see the car. Wait, >> stop it. Can you please take me out the middle? I don't like coming down. If something's wrong, you're going to make it worse. Okay. Nobody's >> right now. Don't worry. I give you my word. You are good. >> Yeah. We got to make sure you have nothing if somebody wants any. >> All right. I'm going to have a plate for you from a video from her phone. It's going to be New Jersey Regge Whiskey 52 Uniform Hotel Kilo. >> Please help me move my car here. >> Yeah. Can you take it out? 21500. >> I'm just going to put your phone in my pocket cuz as soon as they get here, I want to get you on. >> You can give it to him. >> I'm just trying to take me out the middle. >> I can pick you up. But if you're saying broken, >> I don't want to I do not want to move you. >> I promise you you're fine. >> Yeah, it's over there. They're looking for it right now. >> You did awesome. You did great. Talk to me. We got the plate. We're going to get >> right now. We're going to get the person. Your safety is perfect. >> You are fine. This is our This is our street. We're not going to let someone get hit and nothing nobody find out. Okay. >> We got the plate. You heard it. That's the actual car. So, let him hopefully they find it or go to the house. >> She got ran over. Exactly. >> After her tough girl act failed miserably, [music] the victim was left laying in the pavement while the suspect pulled a vanishing act. She was suddenly very concerned about her broken hip after [music] spending several minutes provoking the situation. It's hard to feel full sympathy when someone dares another person to drive forward and then acts shocked when things turn serious. >> I'm going to try to uh find a res. >> Are you okay? Like besides pain in your legs, are you breathing okay? >> Cuz they're going to come here get you. I want to tell them what you can tell me. Like right over your thigh area, knees. >> She went over my waist >> one time or you got it for >> You have cameras everywhere right now. Just >> that's your baby right there. You okay? Do you need help? >> She was I'm saying is the baby okay? And is the baby safe by myself? >> You're with the baby. Perfect. Thank you. >> Not worried about nothing else. >> Ambulance gets here. We got the information out. We got cops looking already. Good job, everybody. She comes first. You stopped. You did everything right. We got the plate out. We'll find the person. >> Where's everywhere? >> Where's cameras everywhere? She's good. >> You did a great job. >> Great job. Should be proud of your mommy. >> I know. I I want to move you. Trust me, I get it. >> Okay. Do you want to lean on something? >> I want to get out the middle. >> I know. I know. But I'm not >> you. I'd rather you leave. Stopping traffic is fine. They can go around the block. They can put you on a board and move you safer. >> And you're going by yourself. >> Hit and run. >> I got nervous when I saw the giant truck. >> Yeah. No, no. So, it was a hit and run. We got the plate out. They're looking for the guy. But >> she wants to get out the street, but she said she was ran over her legs. Both legs. >> You got knocked over. Then wiggle your toes for us there. How about How about your left? >> My waist, not my feet. She went over my waist. >> She's saying the tire went over that. That's what she's saying. >> So, when she said that, I'd rather not move her. If you can't, don't do it. We're going to have an ambulance. >> It's not my feet the problem. It's my waist the problem. But if your waist gets hit, that can affect your feet. So, we're making sure everything's okay. >> Okay. Do you have any numbness? >> My waist right here in your >> She's been leaning to the left the whole time. >> You want to lean on me? I don't want the ambulance going to pull up, please. >> Okay. You don't have anything to put you on right this second. Ambulance will be here in a minute. The victim kept talking about her video, proving [music] that even with a serious injury, the need for content never stops. She followed the rules about recording, [music] but completely ignored basic survival instincts. A street confrontation doesn't come with a fast pass to the emergency room. [music] In the end, she traded her ability to walk normally for a few loud moments arguing with a stranger. And that's a [music] deal no one actually wins. >> She wasn't in the car. It was you got she got >> No, she hit me and she ran away and I hit the gas. >> Okay. >> Locked her in. She ended up reversing getting out. She got us from the car over the car and heard where did you see the car go over? >> Now, what part of her body did it go over? >> So, okay. >> You're okay with her waiting till the for the baby? Okay. >> No, I'm >> You're more than welcome in 55 Dale. It's warm in there if you want to stay in there. >> Like I have my car. You can stay in the car, but >> as long as she's cool with it, I'm cool with it. >> Take my phone and call them again. >> Real quick, just give me a quick rundown real quick. Me and Norte at our post are the first one. Hey, something's going on. Something about yelling, hitting cars, accident. No, no, just to get a unit as I come out here just all trying to get around, yelling, screaming. As I got closer, they're all yelling at me. I don't realize it until I see a lady on the ground. >> Yeah. >> They're like, "Get tired. She laugh. She laugh. She laugh." Over and over. >> Yeah. >> And I'm like, "Okay, okay, calm down. you got a plate. And then someone's like, I got video. So, I slowed the video down real quick and I got the plate. That's what I got out. And then I went to her. She's like, please get me off the street, please. I like ma'am, I don't want to move you. >> Yeah. >> First off, I don't want to hurt myself moving you and I don't want to move you. She >> She has a video of the person that struggled >> literally confronting her and she's getting hit in the video. >> She's She's at St. Joe's right now. She has that video still. >> Yeah, she's at >> Yeah. On her phone. And I I wrote her name down her information for you. >> Send me her name. We're going to go to St. Jose from the town like from like prior experience. Um, all right. So, that's the address that she >> kept complaining. Not her legs, her hips. She's saying it went over her hips >> and her car is damaged on that one side. >> You saw the video >> kind of. It was like a Spanish white maybe with blonde hair quick, but it's like wobbling and you just see her. That's it. >> But you defin I got the plate though. >> Okay. >> And other people said >> like she's other people she knew saw her. >> Okay. >> And her baby was in the car as well. >> All right. So, that's her vehicle. Who's Who's that guy? >> That's baby. But that's the guy that took the baby over, which is the father of family. Doesn't matter. Mom said it was okay. >> You got his information? >> I got it. >> You got me? He wasn't in the car. He came on scene to just pick the baby. >> They just want to make sure cuz I came on after. >> With the victim's footage in hand, police didn't waste time playing guessing games. That license plate turned into a home address real quick. And [music] suddenly, the calm part of the day was over. Another crew rolled out to meet her where she felt safest [music] because trouble always looks smaller until it shows up at your door. And [music] trust me, that knock wasn't friendly. >> Hey sir, how you doing? >> What's going on, man? >> How are you? >> Roslin, >> she's not here right now. >> Okay. You have her phone number? >> We can hear her voice. >> That's her. All right. >> She's right there. Right there. >> Okay. Thank you. Oh, she's taking off. >> Where you go? What's your name? >> I'm going home. >> Street. >> I really was. >> Okay. >> I'm glad you didn't run cuz it look like you were trying to take off on me. >> No, I'm not running. Oh my god. >> I don't feel like I should go to jail. >> I felt threatened. >> Okay. Can I get you get your ID, please? >> Can I just go? >> No, not right now. You're being detained. >> Can you place your bag down? >> Place your floor. Place your stuff on the floor. Let go. Look. Look. This is my >> Okay. I'm going to jail. >> You are being detained. You're going to be placing handcuffs for our protection. Yours. >> You understand you're involved in hit and run? >> No, I didn't run. I tried to leave here. You're going to be placing handcuffs for your protection in ours. >> But the girl was so irate. >> I'm giving you a heads up. You're placing handcuffs. [laughter] >> Can my son take my bag? Take my bag in the house. >> Nope. He's not taking the bag in the house. >> Don't take the bag. Go with grandma. Go with grandma. Just go downstairs. Go downstairs with grandma. Take a step past you. >> Yeah, he's Yeah, he's fine. Keep your arm stay so you can lock it so you don't get hurt. >> We're going to take this. Let's get her out of here and we'll attack this car. You got to be search. >> The suspect got cuffed and started her own victim performance, [music] claiming she felt threatened. To be fair, having a screaming woman hovering over your hood is a bit much. The victim wanted to play the hero and [music] the suspect decided to be the villain. Now, one's in a hospital bed and the other is headed to a bunk bed. It was a messy, unnecessary situation that proved common sense is a rare [music] currency in Patterson City. >> You're still going to be searched. Stand by. >> Sarge, we have the individual involved in the accident. She uh confirmed she was on scene. We have her detained in a moment. Where's your ID? >> Can you get my card? It's in my wallet. >> On your jacket right here. >> I'm trying to give him my ID. I'm trying to return. He'll return. >> Is it in your jacket or in your purse? >> I don't remember. I know. I went to the store to buy liquor. >> You got gloves on. Can you just go real quick? >> It's probably in my wallet. >> All right. Your wallet will be in your purse. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> I wasn't drinking. >> You want to take [clears throat] you have nothing in your pockets? Going to be any weapons on anything like that? We should know about anything in your boots. Okay. >> Is that where my ID is? >> You just have some money in here. >> And my ID is that >> I'm going to put this in your purse. Okay. >> Okay. >> Where would your ID be? >> In my wallet. >> All right. Where do you usually keep your wallet in a specific spot? >> It's in here. >> This right here? >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> What you want to do in a car? What do you want to do here? >> Why do I have to go to jail? >> Well, I'm not saying you're going to jail. You're being detained. Okay. >> But the girl was threatening. I was trying to give her the paperwork, but she was yelling at me. >> We will figure out the story. I'm not saying you're going to jail, but you're absolutely going to be detained for our safety and yours, right? You understand? An individual was struck by a motor vehicle and you disappeared. Whether you were right or not, >> I had to pick my son up. And I was trying to give her Yeah, but she was standing in front of my car. She would not move. >> And I was trying to give her my paperwork. I was trying to give her my paperwork. >> What were you giving paperwork you giving her? My She asked for my insurance and my license. >> After you struck her or before? >> No, before. But I was trying to give it to her cuz she hit she actually I was I stopped at the stop sign. >> Okay. >> And I was making a right turn. >> And what did she do? >> She came out of traffic. I didn't hit nothing. She came out of the traffic that was in the left lane and she hit my car and kept going around the corner. I slowed down and I pulled over and stopped. >> The suspect's memory was suddenly as blurry as a cheap security camera. She claimed she went to the store for liquor, but definitely wasn't drinking. It's funny how she remembered her son needed a ride, but completely forgot the part where she felt a human body go under her tires. [music] She was playing the victim card like she was winning a poker tournament. >> She came around the corner and yelled at me, "You left the scene of accident." I'm like, "No, I didn't leave the scene of accident. I'm sitting right here. I'm here. You're talking to me. So, how could I have flee the scene if I'm talking to you?" Well, I need paperwork. I need paperwork. I said, "Okay." But then at that point now, I'm nervous. And then I'm still I still have to pick my son up from school. So I said, "Okay, I'm getting my pocketbook out. I'm giving you >> my I will give you my insurance and my registration so you can take a picture, but I have to pick up my son." She like, "Okay." But then she yelling at me then. So I'm reaching in my pocketbook to get her to pick. Don't touch me. Don't touch. I'm like, "I'm not touching you." And then she starts getting I'm like and another car pulls up in front of me. >> And I was I was really scared for my life and I had to pick up my that's the only reason I left. >> Okay. >> I said the other car wouldn't move. >> Can you confirm to me what >> what hit what? You hit a car. >> Me. I didn't hit nobody from my recollection. I was just trying. She hit me with her car. >> Okay. Her car hit your car. >> Her car hit my car. I don't recall hitting nobody. I was afraid. >> Do you have anybody in the apartment that you want to give your stuff to? >> Somebody said no. Give him my stuff. If you want to take me to jail, give give my somebody's in my apartment that can take my stuff. >> Do you have anything that you want to take me to the phone or anything like that? >> No. Give everything to him if you taking me to jail. >> Okay. Do you want that way though? Is there anybody? >> No, I don't know him. >> No. The young the young man that walked by you told me he was your son. >> Yeah, he went with my mom. >> Okay. Is there anybody left? Is there anybody left? Just give my stuff to him. All of my stuff to him. >> You have a cell phone in here. You want to take >> I don't want to take my cell phone with me. Just give it to them. If you taking me to jail, give him all my stuff. >> All right. >> I'm going to fine. >> I don't understand why I was going to jail. I was afraid. >> Okay. I I I told you once, I told you twice. Now I'm going tell you things. You're not necessarily going to jail. Just be cooperative. I'm not saying you're going to jail. I have an investigation to do. We have pieces of the puzzle, right? There's people over there in Grand Street where are hurt or not hurt or whatever. and I'm with you. >> Our suspect was really leaning into the scared for my life narrative. While the victim was probably getting an X-ray of her shattered plans, [music] she claimed she didn't recall hitting anyone, which is a very convenient case of amnesia. She was so focused on her son's bus schedule that she didn't mind leaving a body in the rear view mirror. The audacity of her story was actually physically painful to hear. >> I can't be at both places. I do not know what happened. So all I'm doing is getting your side of the story, okay? >> And then we'll figure out what the other side of story is and we'll make an educated decision which is best for everybody. >> I was afraid. I did not see the scene, but the girl came out and oh, you hit me and ran. I said you hit my car. If I ran, you would not be talking to me. >> I understand. >> Take my stuff. Get my stuff. Just get my stuff from them. Give it to him. >> You want them to have your stuff. All your belongings were here. >> Get all my stuff. Get my Give it to him. Yeah, give it to him. >> They gone. My mother gone. >> Hey, what was that? What was that the address you gave himself? >> Excuse me. >> R365 or something like that. It was >> Hamilton. >> Yeah. >> Oh, y'all looking for where I parked my car at? >> Yep. >> It's on on Harrison Street. >> Did they take the car? If they left the car, I'm going tell you like this. They're going to be part of this problem. They car downstairs. to tell me, right? >> No, my car is not in Harrison. >> The people that left, they didn't just take your vehicle, did they? >> No. >> Okay, just making sure cuz >> No, I I'm not hiding my car. I parked our house. >> No, I just I need all the evidence, right? Like I need all the evidence. >> I parked my car. >> I got you. Just face this way for me. Face the radio. >> I parked my car. Nobody else has keys to my car. >> Where's your keys to your vehicle? >> In my purse. >> Perfect. >> Good afternoon, Officer. Only three. >> Don't mess with my family. I got a key to my car. >> No, I just got to make sure I don't need a key to my car as one in my house. >> That's fine. I don't want to. They just trying to help me. I don't I don't need fine. >> But I was afraid the girl they wouldn't they surrounded my car. I just want you to get out of here. >> It's okay. I get it. You're We get it. Just keep on keeping calm and we'll be happy today. >> I really don't feel like I should go to jail. >> Well, keep going straight. >> You got to push that green button to get out. She begged the police to give her stuff to her family, probably knowing she wasn't coming home for dinner. The detective was tired of the I'm the victim loop, [music] but she kept spinning it like a DJ. She was so caught up in her own drama that she didn't realize the victim's instigation didn't give her a license to [music] kill. She traded her freedom for a few seconds of rage, and the victim traded her health for a savage moment. The >> green button can work. You see it? I need to do that twice. >> Thank you. >> Number 20. Let me know when you're ready. >> You ask me. >> Yes, ma'am. >> It's on Harrison. >> Harrison. Where's Harrison? >> Around the corner. >> Okay. Which where is it by? Do you know which number? Come here. Right here. >> Yeah, it's on the corner. >> Place your chest right here for me, please. Go ahead. >> Open that door for me. >> I don't have the key. The key >> uniform. >> I can show you where the girl hit my car at if that's what you want to see. >> Well, it's okay. We'll get harassing you, right? >> Yeah. Please don't tow my car. >> No. If it's legally parked, if they want it, they have to have it. But if not, I'm okay with it. I'm not trying to tow anything. I don't need to. >> Zero. >> All right. Stand by, man. >> So, tell me what happened. >> Okay. I was making a right turn at the stop sign. I stopped at the stop sign. I looked to my left. There was no cars coming down my lane. And on the other left lane, >> what street were you on? >> It was coming. It wasn't DAB. It was the street before DAB. I don't know the name. The street after Delab or before, one or the other, but I don't know the name of that specific street, but I know I was turning onto it was I was at the stop sign and there was no traffic in the right lane. >> Okay, >> there was plenty of traffic in the left lane, but I looked to my left, there was no cars coming. So, I went to go and make the right turn. So, as I made the right turn, a car hit me out of nowhere. >> Car hit you. >> Hit me out of nowhere. I was on the front. >> What part? What part of your car did? >> I might driver side fender. >> Driver side fender in the front. >> So, I slowed down. I'm like, wait, the car came out of nowhere. So, I was thinking, well, maybe they left. So, I slowed down and I stopped. >> Gotcha. >> Because they hit me and then So, I stopped. Then this girl came, oh, you hit the car. I said, "No, if I ran, I wouldn't be here." >> I said, "You actually hit my >> 24." >> The suspect finally led them to her car, hoping they wouldn't notice the dent from where she used a human as a stabilizer. She kept pleading with them not to tow it, as if she didn't just use it for a hit and run. Her logic was as broken as the victim's [music] pelvis. She really expected the cops to say, "Oh, she yelled at you? My bad. You're free to go." The absolute nerve of this woman was truly out of this world. >> I told her, I said, "You actually hit my car, but I didn't run. I'm here." And I said, "I will give you my paper when I have to get my son from his bus." >> Okay. >> So, I went into my >> So, at this point, the only thing that struck your car was another car >> was her. Yeah. >> She hit my car and that's when there was no traffic on my right turn. There was no traffic. She had to come. She came out of the left lane and hit me. And then she told me I ran the stop sign. I did not run the stop sign. She hit my car. >> Was the lady in the car? >> The lady, she came and ran out her car and told me I don't even know if that's the car that hit me cuz it was so fast. >> But I it slowed me. >> When the car hit you, what happened after they >> slowed down? No, I don't know which way that car went. >> Okay. >> It came out of nowhere. But the lady came the lady came running. You hit my car and you ran. I'm like, if I win, I wouldn't be here. >> So, I went into my car to get my pocketbook. I need your paperwork. I said, okay, I have my paperwork. I'll give it to you. Just give me a minute. And she getting all crazy. You hit my car. I have my baby. I said I said, "Okay, I'm trying to get I'm already nervous. >> So, I'm trying to give you my paperwork." And plus, I got to pick my >> What kind of car was it? Do you remember? >> I don't even remember. That's how fast it happened. I don't know what color car. I don't even know. Did you describe the driver? >> I don't know who was driving the car that hit me. I didn't even see the car that hit me. I just see she ran up on me. >> Now it's another car surrounding me. I'm like, what is going on here? I'm getting my pocketbook to try to give her the paperwork and then another car is pulling up in front of me trying to block. So now [laughter] I'm afraid. >> I said, "Well, I'm not going to give you nothing." Cuz first I didn't see the car that hit me. I don't even know if she came out of the car that hit me. and I don't know what's going on at this point. So, they took it. I said, "Well, you got your videos and you got your pictures. >> I'm getting in my car and I'm leaving." >> She finished her story by insisting she stopped at the stop sign like a good [music] citizen. It's funny how she remembered the traffic laws, but forgot the don't run over people law. She claimed she didn't even see who hit her, yet she was sure it was the victim's fault. [music] It was a masterclass in deflection. She was so busy trying to save her car from the impound lot that she forgot she already lost her future. >> And that's what I did. I have to go get my son. They surrounded me in the car. So, and another car surrounded my front. So, I backed up and I was trying to turn to get out and I backed up again and turned to get out. And that's all I remember. I had to get out of there because I I felt threatened. >> I just want to double check and make sure we can verify with the witnesses on scene. I don't know if I if I did that. >> It might not have been you to be honest with you. >> I did, >> but we just want to verify. I don't like I don't I'm not going to charge somebody without >> Yeah, I don't think I hit nobody. I just wanted to get out of there. I was afraid and I wanted to get >> So, listen, just so you know, you still can't do that. You still can't. You can just pull over, call 911. >> I tried to do that and but I tried and I said, "Here, I will give you my paperwork." I actually took my pocketbook out of my car to give her the paperwork. But then it was another car that pulled up in front of me and it's like they were surrounding my car and I'm like, "Wait, now I'm scared." >> Okay, >> cuz first of all, I didn't even see the car that hit my car. >> And then she telling me I ran a stop sign. I never ran a stop sign. >> Okay. >> So, I was afraid. I just wanted to go at that point. And I said, "You you already got pictures. You got pictures of my license plates. Then that's what you have and then we'll deal with it later. Right now, I'm leaving because now I feel like somebody's gonna hurt me and I was afraid. >> Okay, >> that's that's what happened. >> All right, just give us a couple minutes. Right. I just want to let you know you're being auto video recorded in there as well. All right. >> Yeah, that's what happened. I was afraid of my life. >> Are y'all taking me to jail? >> I'm not sure yet. >> I didn't do nothing wrong. >> Well, listen. Here's the here's the thing, right? I'm not saying I don't believe you >> right now with all the evidence, >> right? I just want what we're doing is we're double-checking and we're we're making sure because I don't want to bring you up there and charge you and have to have you, you know, hire an attorney to prove your innocence if you didn't do anything wrong. >> I really didn't. I >> Listen, I I hear what you're saying. So, two two things, right? >> Mhm. >> Some people tell the truth, some people lie. I don't know if they're lying or not. >> I want to believe you. The suspect was quite sure that any witnesses on the scene would back up her story of being the victim. She even suggested that it might not have been her car that did the damage, [music] which was a bold move. It was a desperate attempt to gaslight the police into believing that the victim's injuries were just [music] a figment of everyone's imagination. Her confidence was high, but her grip on reality was slipping faster than a bad transmission. But we're just waiting and to see if we can possibly get some video of the area because if that's the case and you didn't hit nobody, you're free to go. >> I didn't hit nobody. >> Guess what? >> Hey, give me release right now. Okay. Step out the vehicle. >> All right. I Before you uh before I Oh, come back here real quick so I can do I don't want to stand in the driveway. So, listen. You're going to you're going to receive a summon for leaving the scene. Okay. To go to court. >> All right. We have our uh around. >> We have our CSI detectives are processing your car. So, right now, we're not charging with anything. >> I stole my car. >> No. No. Processing it. >> What's that mean? >> They're just they're just taking a look at it. Make sure uh the party's fingerprints. >> You stole my car? >> No. Just to let you know, we're going to they're going to take a look at your car and process it. All right. Right now, you're not being charged. That does not mean you're not going to get charged in the future. I just want to give you a heads up. Uh they're going they're going to do their investigation. I got it. Excuse me. We're going to do our investigation. All right. But at least for now, you're not getting charged with anything. They're going to try to look at the camera place and determine what happened. Right? You got people on scene saying given your plate. Doesn't mean they were factual. You know, it could have been a misunderstanding. Could have been they were involved. Could be a lot of things. So, we really don't feel comfortable charging you without knowing all the facts. We don't like doing stuff like that because it creates a giant headache for you and we don't want to do that. All right. So, we're most likely going to write a preliminary report and we're going to forward it up to detective bureau for further and they'll make the determination. All right. >> You're not going to tow my car. >> You're not your car. Would you give me a second? I'm going to write you a summon >> cuz you did leave the scene. But like I said, there'll be a 49. Okay. I understand. >> Absolutely. Okay. So, right now it's just a traffic ticket. Okay. Give me a couple minutes. That hurt. >> The back and forth was getting exhausting. She kept acting like the victim just teleported under her wheels while she was minding her own business. It was like watching a toddler try to explain how the cookie jar broke. She really thought if she said, "I was scared." [music] Enough times, the police would just give her a hug and a ticket. Lady, you ran over a person, not a cardboard box. >> Are you missing another statement for me, man? If you just step out of the car, >> I don't want to step out the car. >> All right, back. >> I'm going. >> Y'all just let me go. >> Relax. Calm down. And we'll explain everything going on in just a minute. >> Ma'am, >> one second. I see. I will give it to you. I'm not going to taste it. >> I don't want it. I don't want you to take it or give it to me. I just want to give you my hand. >> Why am I in handcuffs again? >> I didn't aggravate assault. Nobody. What? >> Yeah, we'll discuss this. >> I'm going to discuss everything up at >> I get up to headquarters, we'll tell you everything that's going on. >> Aggravated assault. >> We allow you to make phone calls for someone to pick you up. >> Aggravated assault. Uh, if you want to bring her by one of our cars real quick aggravated assault, uh, ma'am, just walk me real quick. >> How did I get an aggravated assault? >> Explain everything when we get up. Okay. >> I got to go to jail for aggravating assault. >> I ain't aggravating. Everything's okay. >> No, y'all taking me to jail for aggravated assault. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, respond down, please. Come on. Walk to the car. aggravated assault. >> Just stand up right here. >> I'm going to pat you down. Okay. >> Face you real quick. Right here. >> Face right quick. You don't have anything that's going to possibly poke your >> I don't have nothing. >> Assault. I didn't assault nobody. >> We'll discuss it when we get >> If you didn't do anything, you'll get locked up. >> Spread your legs a little. >> No. >> Miss Parks, please. Please. Spread your legs. >> Spread them more. >> No, I ain't moving my leg. >> Spread your legs more. I'm not >> aggravated assault for what? I never hit nobody. >> Miss Park, you were involved in a motor vehicle accident earlier, correct? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And they let me out and I didn't aggravate >> at this point in time. Uh we're with the detective bureau. You are being placed under arrest >> for what? >> Aggravated assault. >> How? >> With the accident that you were involved in earlier. All right. So, I'm going to read you your Miranda rights. You are being placed under arrest. The detective wasn't buying the damsel in distress act for one single second. He knew the video showed the victim acting like a lunatic, but it also showed the suspect acting like a monster. It was a race to the bottom of the barrel for both of them. The suspect kept worrying about her car [music] while the victim was likely worrying if she'd ever walk straight again. >> You are going to be transported to our headquarters for process. >> What does she have on her? >> Nothing. >> You have Can you just listen? That's >> You have the right to remain silent. Any questions? >> They arrested me for aggravated assault. >> Yes, ma'am. >> They tried for you. >> Aggravated assault. >> Miss, do you understand your rights? >> No. >> Do you understand your rights? >> I don't understand. >> Do I need to read them to you? >> Why I'm being arrested? >> Do I need to read them to you again? >> No. >> Okay, then. >> I don't understand why I'm being arrested. >> Got good. >> All right. She had the vape on her. That was it. >> Just vape. >> Okay. >> Why am I being arrested? Don't worry about my phone. Why am I being arrested? >> Ma'am, please have a seat in the car. >> Have a seat. >> Have a seat. >> All right, you can calm down. [clears throat] >> But you can have a seat. >> I can You can give me enough room to pick my foot up. No, you No, I'm not pushing. I'm not pushing on to nobody. >> You can back up enough time to put my foot in the car. >> Just the plate number, whatever. You know what I'm saying? That's more >> aggravated assault. Who did I assault? >> This [ __ ] is [ __ ] ridiculous. >> Aggravated assault. That mean I hit somebody with a deadly weapon. Ouch. These handcuffs really hurt. >> 332 all the units. Good job, Joe. Good. >> Aggravated assault. You know who I'm going to call? I'm going to call Harley. >> Thank you, sir. Good job, Ry. >> Harley is going to be my lawyer. So, y'all can think y'all going to do what y'all want to do, but it's not going to happen. I didn't do nothing wrong. Like I said, the girl hit my car and I felt I'm going to call Harley. Man, >> no. You y'all came back and y'all arrested me for aggravated assault. I did not assault nobody. >> I'm going to call Hardy Burke. >> Okay. >> As they prepped her for transport, reality finally started sinking in through that thick [music] skull. No more liquor runs, no more bus stops, just an orange jumpsuit and [music] a very angry judge. She was still trying to negotiate her way out of handcuffs, acting like this was all just a big misunderstanding over a dented fender. >> Harley Burke. I'm calling Harley Burke. >> I'm calling Harley Burke. I'm telling you now. I'm calling Harley Burke. I'm going to call Harley Burke. You are arresting me of this is a wrongful arrest. >> Okay. >> It I didn't aggravate assault nobody. >> Okay. I'm bloody. >> I did not aggravate assault nobody. I do have a lawyer on speed down. And when you give me that phone call, I'm calling Harvey Burke. Okay. [snorts] >> I'm telling you now, you giving me this is a wrongful arrest. If I did something wrong, I didn't do nothing wrong. I felt threatened. I had to leave the situation. And that's what I did. left the situation and take me where you want to take me. You gonna let me go. You don't have no right to have me in these handcuffs. You don't have no right to take me to jail. You don't have no right to do nothing that you doing to me. I'm going to sue the whole police department. Are y'all finished? I need to call my lawyer. Like this [ __ ] is crazy. You You put put me in a bo put her in a box. Now I'm aing piece of meat. Well, give me a phone call so I can call my lawyer. Give me a phone call. You don't put I'm not aing piece of meat. I'm a person. I did not do nothing wrong. That girl hit my car and they surrounded my car. I tried to give her the information. She didn't want to take it. I thought they was going to carjack me. I did not aggravate, assault nobody. So, what's going It's an attempted carjacking. >> It's an attempted carjacking. >> Come with me. >> No, you got to help me. >> Okay. This one. >> What? What you want me to do? >> You're going to come up. >> You want me to come out of the car? >> Yeah. Left foot's going to walk me out first. There you go. >> Step down. >> Then I lift my hand. >> There you go. I got you. >> Now, which way I'm going? You're gonna follow >> and I'm trying to get a phone call. >> This wild encounter proved that pride is a dangerous drug. The victim wanted to be a hero and got crushed. And the suspect wanted to be a victim and got caught. [music] You don't get to run over people because they're yelling at you. And you shouldn't stand in front of moving cars unless you're made of metal. It was a tragic mix of ego and bad breaks that ended with a long recovery and a much longer prison sentence. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, [music] leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and endangering an injured victim. Police reports confirmed [music] that the victim, a mother, suffered multiple minor fractures to her hip and pelvis as a result of the incident. What began as a hit and run quickly [music] escalated into chaos with both parties acting irrationally. But ultimately, [music] the woman who fled the scene faced the legal consequences of her actions. As always, all suspects are presumed innocent unless [music] and until proven guilty in a court of law. If you found this video compelling, leave a like and subscribe for more daily body cam footage.
