the man proceeds with his original request obtaining public records under the freedom of Information Act 5 USC section 552 government agencies are required to provide public records upon request however the officers start making excuses they claim only one person in the entire building has access to the records and that she is unavailable the man immediately calls out the inefficiency questioning how an entire city hall can rely on a single person for records instead of addressing the issue officers grow defensive acting as if they are being harassed simply for being asked to do request under the Fourth Amendment citizens have the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures yet here officers use their presence as intimidation the man remains calm refusing to be bullied he sarcastically points out how their actions contradict the Department's supposed values of efficiency and professionalism instead of de-escalating they continue their power trip proving they are more interested in controlling the situation than upholding the law you're you've been recorded since I met you yeah I know everyone's recorded 24 hours a day 7 days a week so so you're going to stay here and you're not going to cause a scene anymore is that a yes I expect that to be a yes thank you took five of you to do that huh good job is this part of the efficiency that that you got up
