of suspicious activity the officer approached and stated the auditor was not free to leave based on a suspicious person report under Terry ve Ohio 392 US1 1968 detention requires Reasonable identification under Texas penal code section 38.2 ID is only required after a lawful arrest the auditor refused knowing the demand was baseless the officer falsely claimed refusal was a crime further exposing his ignorance of the law a supervisor arrived but failed to justify the demand forcing them to back down this guy thinks uh that we have to identify ourselves when you're being formally the correct procedure and the officer's mistake even though he educated them they were still looking for excuses to arrest him your feelings enforcement instead of law enforcement you guys have fun
