like, you know, talking him down, telling him to come over here. Like, when the police and everything showed up, he sped off. They don't even know that's him driving around the block making loops until I'm like, "That's his car right there." So, now it's kind of like it's just a lot, but I told him that he has a abide the history with me yesterday. I just didn't file the report because I thought that he would cooperate in letting me, you know, get my things with the ex. Hello. Hi. You thought? No, and my other friend. Okay. Come on in. All right. Hello. How are you? >> I'm all right. How are you? I'm chilling better. Okay. Okay. So, yesterday And then y'all can have a seat if you need to. You all right, but you can have a seat, love. Thank you. So, I want to start from the beginning. It's been an ongoing issue uh since the birth of my baby. I just came back from California cuz I had to basically get us to a safe place. The first incident I didn't report it, but he choked me with my baby in my arms. So, I just ran back home. Um got on a flight. Hm? How long ago was that? This happened 3 months ago. Okay. 3 months ago, he was around Well, 4 months ago. He was around 3 months. Um we thought we patched it over and we thought everything was okay. You know, the whole 4 months we've been communicating and he's been telling me he's went to therapy and things like that. He's a Little Rock chief uh Little Rock captain of the fire department. So, >> is? Yes. >> Okay. So, that's why I didn't want to jeopardize, you know, his position. I still cared about him. I still loved him, but coming back and he did the same thing basically. Um, put me out the house, took my son, took the kids. And y'all share y'all's son together? Yes. >> Okay. Um, I'm not We're not married, so it's basically it is what it is when it comes to that. Yeah. Um, and uh I was calling him all yesterday. This started at 11:00 a.m. yesterday. Today, uh well, yesterday the police came to um basically force him to give my son back. >> Mhm. Um, which he did, but after that he drove off. He didn't allow me access into the house, so I couldn't get escorted in because he had the keys to the property. Um, Is it this property or is it somewhere else? >> It's somewhere else. It's 1404 and 1406 1406 South Station. Off of Daisy. You said 140 duplex, [clears throat] so both of the addresses are attached. Which one do you live in? Uh 1404. That's the the upper level. Okay. Um, he is very hostile. He gets very domestic. I don't Now, I'm starting to think it's something that is out of his control. Uh he'll do good or try to mask it, but he'll just come out with bursts of you know, just anger. If I try to tell him to calm down or relax or you know, he'll get even more enraged. And he's a bigger man. He's 6'4, you know, his real quick was nice. Joshua K A R R I E M Okay. Um, you know his birthday? Um, I believe it's 11 2 He's 180 What? Is it 80? 80? >> He's 45. Would you be born in in 80? He's close to it. I'll figure it out. What's his phone number? And what was his name? Joviah Lewis And what's his number? 99 And a phone number for you? 954 Okay. So, what happened? I know you said yesterday the police came out for you get your kid, and then what happened after that? After that, well, even during he was getting real violent and irate. While the police were there? >> Yeah, while the police were there. Okay. Um, he was calling my friend out of her name. He was telling me I'm going to be a single mother. He was just, you know, trying to walk up. They held him back, things like that. It got real Mhm. crazy. I tried not to interact with him at all. >> Right. Cried in the backseat. That's crazy. Um, however, after that, um, I'm trying to get his personal information. I have to go back home. I can't stay out here. I don't have any resources for him here. I can't do anything for my baby here, so I have to go back to my family. And it's like he's trying to uh not be there. I I called you guys out to escort me on the premises. Uh he's been playing cat and mouse games. He's telling his brother not to answer the door. He's He's literally trying to um avoid me to getting the things I need to to feed my baby, to take care of my baby. He's also went into my account and removed money so that I can't financially do anything. It's It's just things that he's been known to do. He's very He's just on edge. He's been getting in trouble at his job when it comes to his anger, when it comes to treating people a certain type of way. And the more trouble the more his life spirals, it's like the more unsafe I feel. I don't feel safe around him. I thought that I thought that things would be better. And the fact that he has history of taking my child from me and leaving for days, or taking my child from me and and blocking me and I have And I just I can't do that. >> Right. And I I was afraid of of um harming his career or harming tarnishing his name, but now I just have to I have to tell >> So, did you tell the police yesterday everything that you're telling me? I told the police told me that if I was to um go ahead and If I was to go ahead and file a report, that I could use the footage that they had. Basically, um one of the officers had a conversation that I couldn't hear with him on the phone, but his cam was on so it was like him talking him off the ledge like, you know, talking him down, telling him to come over here like when the police and everything showed up he sped off. They don't even know that's him driving around the block making loops until I'm like, "That's his car right there." So now it's kind of like it's just a lot but I told him that he has a a violent history with me yesterday. I just didn't file the report because I thought that he would cooperate in letting me, you know, get my things with the escort and, you know, I could just So you didn't get anything yesterday? No, I didn't get anything but my baby. I didn't even get into the house. I literally he kicked me out with nothing on. I had a a moon boot on and no undergarments, no nothing. I'm just outside. So So you went to California, you came back. Yes. >> How long did you Did you have your baby? Yes, I took my baby with me to California. >> you came back Monday. How long were you gone? I was gone for I want to say a little over 3 months. Okay. A little over 3 months. So then you didn't have a way into the house. No. Okay. So probably what happened with that and why they didn't tell you that like you could force entry into your own home is kind of cuz you vacated on your own. So legally we can't tell you that you can break into the residence cuz technically you're no longer a resident there because you've been gone over 3 months. So that's why they didn't push that issue. Um I mean, you probably would get the same result. >> Even if I still was receiving mail, even if I still have things connected to that address? Yeah, and that's the thing. So obviously we could do as many standbys in the world. And if he don't let you in, we're not going to we're not going to force that issue. But, did they give you a report incident incident card yesterday? No, they didn't. >> Okay. I'm about to say, what time did you call? What time did they come out there? They came out at around 5:30. Okay, so 3:00 to 11:00. >> [clears throat] >> Okay. Trying to see how to gauge this. Do you have Do you have any like Did you take any pictures when you were choked or anything or anything to support that claim? Um Pictures, no, but I have him I have him admitted to I have witnesses saying that he he did it. Like >> Like people that saw it? Uh people that heard him admitted to the fact that he did it or the reason that I'm home or, you know, things like that. Okay. Cuz I'm trying to trying to give you advice on how to gauge it. I mean, cuz even if I make a report today, the attorneys can't move unless you have some type of substantial evidence. So, you didn't call, so you don't have a police report. Pictures would have been good because you would have had a date on it. You would have been able to see redness to, you know, support your claim or anything like that. People seeing it helps. Um So, that time y'all got physical when you came back, you came back from money or The time that he got physical, I left for the three months. Right. So, you you just got back. >> And I just got back and he What day? On Monday. Okay. And then So, what happened then? When I got back Monday, he was trying to do the whole co-parenting thing. He was, you know, not showing any signs of violence or trying to do better and then yesterday he just completely flipped out. He took my phone and was going through my phone and he was, you know, basically accusing me of certain things and, you know, all I could do at that time was, you know, just tell him, you know, please calm down. You know, I don't feel safe. Stop. And that escalated. He took and uh went, grabbed my phone, grabbed my purse, took my keys out of my purse. I told him I said, uh you know, I don't want you to do this, especially in front of the baby. I don't, you know, we just got back. You don't have to You don't have to do nothing like that. When I told him that, he basically threw my purse on ground. I got my purse. Um he was like He threw my phone, broke my phone and he physically like pushed me out the door and told me, uh get the hell out, lock the door behind me. Um then when I was at the duplex, there's like steps. So, I'm on the steps like, you know, trying to get back in or calling him. He's not answering. He comes uh out of the steps, down the steps to basically force me further down and out of the initial gate and he locked it from there. So, I sat outside trying to call him. Um out of nowhere, he's downstairs, fully clothed, the baby's fully clothed. They both get in the car and they drive off. So. Okay. But you didn't get any injury or anything from correct? I didn't get any injury. It was just him taking the baby. Yeah, it was just him taking the baby and and putting me out. Okay. Okay. >> And I just I'm not looking for a solution. I'm actually just going to go home, but I'm I just want it on record that this happened. So, are you Was your baby born in Arkansas? My baby was born in Arkansas. Okay. So, what I would do, go to those places and try to re-request his documents and maybe get it forwarded to your new address. And I'll write up that, you know, you were unable to get in the home. Due to him not wanting to let you get anything and stuff like that. I will do Did you tell the officers yesterday that he kind of that he pushed you? Uh yeah, I told him that he got a little handsy as far as when he did uh put me out. >> Okay. Um he didn't >> [laughter] >> hit me, but he shoved me like that. It was like, "Get out." Okay. I'mma go get paperwork and then I'll be right back. Okay. All right. Thank you. There we >> [bell] >> Hey.
