So here here's the deal. >> Why would I give you a break if y'all NOT GIVING US A BREAK? WE LITERALLY JUST CAME OVER HERE TO HANDLE BUSINESS. I'm not >> I've already tried to explain. >> No, I don't give a >> All right everybody, welcome back. We got another video for you. This one comes from Midwest Safety and it is couple goes nuts after fifth traffic stop in one week. I haven't seen it. Let's go. >> Hi there. I do have a body camera on. So the reason I stopped you is your plates are suspended. >> Yes, sir. I've already gotten a couple of tickets. I got you. Do you have your license? >> Okay. So, I love how he approached and said, "Hey, you're on body cam." Cuz he probably knows this vehicle's already been stopped. He's been stopped and gotten a couple tickets for and he mentioned a warning. So, he keeps doing it. He keeps driving on a suspended license. Look, if they pull you over and say your license is suspended, either go get it taken care of, get your license, you know, your driver your license plate restored or your driver's license, whatever. Don't keep driving and then be mad when you get held accountable. Let's see what happens. >> No insurance with you. I don't know state ID. You don't have your driver's license on you? Not physically on me. Like I said, I lost my wallet somewhere, either in the car or at the hotel while we were getting ready to come out to go down. So, do you not have a Illinois State driver's license? >> Not Illinois State driver's license. >> Okay. I'm going to take a picture of this real quick on my work phone. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> Does it sound like he was filming? >> All right. There's that for you. >> That's right. >> Do you have your previous ticket or one of my bodies? I got I can tell you the I have I had two of them for August 6th. Matter of fact, my last incident with incident was at uh Harley-Davidson. I didn't get a chance to even explain myself before they made up the decision. They were going to tell my car. They didn't even tell me that the toe part that the toe company was on his way until after it was there. >> Hey, just hang out here for a minute. Just work on grabbing that entrance for me. Okay. It doesn't have an Illinois driver's license. He gave me a Missouri picture of one. I don't think they have insurance. They've been stopped recently for mandatory insurance. >> So, the picture of the IA he gave you is the driver's license out of Missouri? >> Yeah. I took a picture of his picture. Yeah. So the car's registered to him. They're saying that they've been a little further recently. He got tickets and warnings and all this stuff. So he says he >> So maybe he did not know then. He did not know when he approached it. But I like the fact that he said he's on body camera cuz it immediately might put people you would think it would make people behave better. >> He already has court dates to go for this stuff, too. >> Hello, Deputy Chief Goodwin from Hama Police Department. How's it going? >> Good. Not not the best boss because this is the full time I've been pulled over in 5 days. >> Okay. >> I've already got a warning, two tickets, and my car to what what is there a lesson to? >> So, has any stop ever told you within the last times that you've been stopped that you can't drive the vehicle on the roadway with suspended plates? >> So, here's the deal. Officers have a job to do and they don't have the discretion at times to cut people brakes. One of these times is when you're driving with a suspended plate with no valid insurance at the time of the stop. >> So, so, so what do y'all What do you I see a gentleman on my right, you on my left or I'm sorry, a gentleman on my left, you on my right. What what's going on? >> So, what's going to happen is is he told me that your driver's license is valid. However, you don't have proof of insurance and your plate is suspended. So, >> so this is where I mean you've seen with Fridays with Frank. Frank will take we take the plate right off and had they removed the plate because he was driving with a uh a suspended plate or or expired plate. We take the plate off and then you have to get a new plate. >> The state of Illinois says that you cannot drive this vehicle on the roadway. So your vehicle is going to be towed. Bro, what? For what? Bro, >> I literally just got this. They literally just explained it to you and then you just literally getting it back literally has nothing to do with it. >> I promise you I have papers. I have the reinstatement and everything. You already know about my court dates and some more stuff. This is harassment. Especially if y'all to my car WITHIN A WEEK, TWICE WITHIN A WEEK. THIS IS HARASSMENT, BRO. >> I need a supervisor. I need y'all to get a supervisor out. >> She's the chief deputy or the deputy chief. She is the supervisor of supervisors. >> Listen, I'm the deputy chief. I'm the second in charge here. Okay. >> Can you get your head chief out here? This is This is [ __ ] >> I'm about to sit in this car and chill. Man, look. Y'all not getting nothing, man. >> Y'all had followed us illegally from the time we GOT INTO STATE. >> NEITHER ONE OF YOU ARE helping the situation. >> Can you talk to me for a second? >> What is your >> I would remove one of them from the car. um him cuz you have you have court case law that says you can remove him from the car because they're just going to feed off of each other right now and get each other angry. >> What insurance did you have? >> She had progressive SR22s. >> Do you have a driver's license or ID card on you, ma'am? No, I don't. >> Okay. Do you have anything that provides what who you are? Okay. What's your what's your name? >> I'm not giving it. I just >> are able to get insurance again. >> So, here here's the deal. Why would I give you a break if y'all NOT GIVING US A BREAK? WE LITERALLY JUST CAME OVER HERE TO HANDLE BUSINESS. I not >> I've already tried to explain >> do better raising your children. Raise them to have some respect for the law and that they you're not immune from the law. like there we have these rules in place for everybody and you've got to have a a valid driver's license, a valid plate, valid insurance. That's just the way things are. That's the way it works. >> No, no, no. I don't give a I've already tried to explain this to YOU. >> I'M SORRY ABOUT WHAT she said. >> Give us a second. >> I'm trying to keep my mental good my life. I'M NOT PAYING ANOTHER $600. I CAN'T DO THAT. >> I'm going to ask you to step back. I'm going to ask her. You have no reasonable cause. I'm not getting out of nothing. I want to be able to talk to you [laughter] so that I can have a way of accessing her emails to be able to show you the insurance, the SR22 insurance card itself. We already told you we have the SR22. >> This is why I would have pulled one of them out and separated them cuz listen to the two going at it, getting each other worked up. The girl over there is riled up. Um, yeah. >> Sold our vehicle just because >> if you if you would exit the vehicle so I can explain things to you. >> I'm not doing >> understand what's going on. You guys are not helping the issue at all. >> Can I get your badge number, please? >> Yes. My badge number is 667. My name is Deputy Chief Rebecca Goodwin. Give me the keys. >> Give me the keys, bro. >> No, cuz I'm not I'm not about to I'm not about to do this now. Now we have another officer. >> Give me the keys. Give me the keys. >> Stop hitting him. >> I'm going to rip you out of this car. If you hit him again, I'm going to rip you car. Listen. >> It is a violation in the state of Illinois to hit somebody in front of a police officer. Do not do it again. I would have already have used that as my probable cause for ripping her out of the vehicle cuz this is just going to get worse. I I I can tell. >> I mean, they're doing a great job. It's just this is going to get worse. >> Oh. Oh, okay. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, she did. >> Dragging her out the car and you're arresting him for impeding. >> Put your hands on her, BRO. I'M GETTING I'M LITERALLY getting harassed right NOW. I'M GETTING PULLED OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHERE THEY PUT THEIR HANDS on my fiance and they're trying to push her. I'm literally >> What's he doing? FILMING >> ON MY BACK BECAUSE THEY'RE TRYING TO RIP HER OUT OF THE CAR WHEN THEY DIDN'T WANT TO ACCEPT THE FACT >> NOT GOING TO DRIVE OFF WITH THIS. >> THIS ENTIRE SITUATION is unacceptable right now. Right now. They are literally doing everything. They are literally doing everything unlawful right now. >> I don't know if he's talking on the phone or if he's just filming this whole thing. >> I'm trying to move. THEY'RE PUSHING ME AGAINST YOU. THEY'RE PUSHING ME AGAINST YOU. I DON'T HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER THIS SITUATION. THEY'RE PUSHING ME AGAINST YOU. I DON'T HAVE anything I CAN DO RIGHT NOW. TOM, I LITERALLY asked back as LONG AS I COULD. I TRIED TO TRY TO LISTEN, MAN. I'M TRYING TO GET OUT THE CAR. I'M GETTING PUSHED FURTHER IN. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? >> I NEED HELP. >> I NEED HELP. >> I NEED HELP. I NEED HELP. I NEED HELP. >> DRAG HIM OUT. I'm going to drive. >> I have Oh my lord. OH MY LORD. >> DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE OFF IN THIS CAR. >> DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE OFF IN THIS CAR. >> TASER. >> Literally just got this car back. No, >> bro. What are you doing? >> Give me Give me Oh my literally. >> If they thought they were having the crappiest week before, it just got worse about 10 times. >> With the worst day of my life. >> I have no right to put your hands on me. delivery. >> Move. >> All right, everybody. SHE'S GOING TO BITE YOU. SHE TRIED TO BITE ME, TOO. >> WHY ARE YOU PULLING my hair? >> Get your cuffs out and put it on her wrist. >> Yeah, you >> put it on her wrist. >> Look, if you're not getting out of the car, we're going to pull you by your hair. We're going to get We're going to do what we have to do to get you out of the car. got one >> and give me the cuff. >> Why is he pulling over here? >> Because you're being a bro. I listen to you this whole time. I tried to get out the car. You snatched up on me and pressed me in the car. >> These are lies. That's not what happened. >> That shows they just put me in the head like for me in the car. Oh my lord. Put your knees to your side. >> I don't know what the >> left arm >> the good Samaritan I I appreciate them running up and helping, but it's one of those situations where you're kind of just stay back and assess the situation, see if you need help. But running right up on the car is going to freak us out when we turn around and see some non-cop standing there, somebody that's not a police officer standing right over our shoulder. I'm >> trying to get it back. >> BITE ME AGAIN. >> STOP BITING. GET OFF ME. >> You want to step OUT OF >> ALL YOU GOT TO do is get off me. >> I haven't seen there are three people, FOUR PEOPLE ON MY WIFE RIGHT NOW. WHAT LEGALLY? >> That's your fault, player. >> Y'all put your hands on her, >> bro. Y'all put your hands on my wife, man. >> And I'm recording the whole thing. >> Can y'all get my phone off the windshield first? >> I will. I will, >> bro. I'm with >> Oh my god. been arrested >> and I haven't done sir can I can I cannot breathe when I am closed in a space like this I will not run I promise you >> I'll do it tomorrow that's what his shirt says well he didn't get it done the day when he got those tickets before and this shirt is kind of come back to haunt him because he should have already have gotten it done and he wouldn't be in this situation right now >> I'm telling you sir I my wrist hurts I am uncomfortable I have anxiety It's okay. >> Yeah, I appreciate you saying >> all you got to do is let me go. >> She bit me. She's bit him. >> Sir, I have manic bipolar. I am trying to tell you about my medical history so you can better handle me. >> I got to help them. And just give me a second. Breathe. Okay. >> I'm trying. >> Just put your feet in there. Hey, >> listen my anxiety. You're not listening right now. >> I am listening. >> No, if you were listening then y'all would have heard when I was trying to explain that she just put her hands on my wife is the most. >> Put your feet. >> Y'all not listening to none of this. Oh my lord. >> Put his feet in there. Close the door. >> He puts me in the car. >> Put her on this side. >> The car. >> No, I want to talk to >> There's Chief. >> Is that the chief? >> Go to the other side and pull her in if she's not going to get >> I don't know that. I don't think that's the chief. Stop kicking. >> That hurts. >> Sit up. >> IT HURTS. YOU HURTING ME. >> WELL, STOP BITING. >> NO, I'M NOT HURTING. DID I BITE YOU? >> Look to your left. >> Look at that. >> I'm not moving. I'm trying to get comfortable. Damn. >> You ain't got to do >> Let me see your arm. >> You racist pigs. Last night racist as hell. You racist. >> Did she bite you too or just scratch? Y'all [ __ ] racist, bro. RACIST. I GOT TO GET MY KIDS. I JUST WANT A BREAK. DON'T BREAK, BRO. >> They gave you breaks. They gave you tickets. They gave you warning. Uh they gave you your car back. You've had multiple breaks. And yet you continue to put yourself in this position. And then you behave like this knowing that you have kids that you have to pick up somewhere. It had no reasonable cause. [screaming] What the [ __ ] >> My anxiety, I cannot breathe. Can you help me, please? My anxiety, please. My anxiety, please, can you open the door? All I want is the door open. I cannot breathe. My anxiety is tripping. I cannot breathe. CAN YOU OPEN THE DOOR, PLEASE? >> Stop running your mouth and just take a deep breath. >> Oh my lord. Are you serious right now? Oh my lord. >> What? What's what what what happens? What what what what happens? So you stop >> I stopped him for mentor insurance. Uh he showed me a picture of his driver's license. >> He was driving. >> He was driving. She was passenger. They were fine initially. He was talking about it. He's upset cuz his car just got towed the other day. He says he has progressive SR22 insurance. >> No paperwork. >> No paperwork to show us. And they said they couldn't access her email to show us the proof. >> That's all I was asking for was proof and she was trying to talk to her. >> The female went berserk. And then she grabbed the keys from him and tried to push she started hitting him and I said, "Do not be hitting him in front of me and she tried to push him out of the way cuz she was going to jump in the driveway. >> It's got to be the chief." >> And I went to grab a hold of her and she pushed my hand away. I said, "Okay, now you're getting out of the car." And then she she bit me, which I ripped my hand away. Then she was kicking me and we just fought the entire time. >> Yeah. >> Cuz I was explaining to them, listen, if you've been stopped five times, you've had your car towed. You cannot keep driving on the roadway with suspended plates. He's got a valid Missouri license, no insurance. He claimed that they're homeless and living out of their car, but yet their stuff is at a hotel somewhere. Then she claims she had >> That was a good ad for Doritos. Just drove by. >> Had paperwork. And then he's like, "No, you don't. You don't have it here." So then they lost her. >> Okay, let's get a record started and send them off. >> Just want to breathe. Even if he's just rolling out the window. I just want to breathe. I just want to breathe. I just want to breathe. Hold on. Hold up. >> I got both of this. Okay. >> You're breathing, player. >> Before we pull off, I've been trying to cooperate. >> I will tip your head forward just a little bit. >> Okay, sit back. >> I mean, honestly, you take this couple. What? Him can't even handle this. What value do they bring to society in the workplace or wherever? They got to be able to keep their composure better than this. I mean, granted, I don't know. They're in a sucky situation. I'll be the first to tell you, but anxiety just crying. >> All right. >> Windows down a little bit for you now. Okay. Just take some breaths. All right. >> What did I do to get detained? What did I do to get detained? >> So, you're being taken to jail for obstruction of justice. >> What did I do obstructionwise? >> So, we were trying to get the keys. >> I didn't take the keys from her. I hated you, bro. What? How am I being taken to jail for the for >> for obstruction? >> Oh my lord. What is What did I do to obstruct justice? How How did I obstruct justice? >> Yeah, we'll we'll chat a little more. >> No, sir. No, sir. Before you Before you have a lawful right to take me to jail, you have to tell me what I did. >> I don't >> Oh, good thing that the the legal scholar showed up here to the traffic stop to tell us what we can and can't do and what the law is supposed to be. It's the reason why you had to tell me my my Miranda rights before you take me to jail. You haven't read me my Miranda or anything. >> I don't have to read your Miranda rights. Yes, you do. >> No, I don't. Move your kn. >> Yes, you do. >> Move your knees. >> My Miranda rights are literally in the Bill of Rights, sir. >> Okay. So, the Miranda rights are not in the Bill of Rights. Miranda comes from case law. It was actually an Arizona case involving a man named Miranda. Um, where they then now have to read the rights when you want to question them. There was no questioning going on. So therefore, there was no need for Miranda. They will eventually maybe read a Miranda if they want to ask more questions, but they don't really need to. They have everything they need. It's right on body camera. >> It is. Oh my lord. Oh my lord. Oh my lord. You haven't read in my life. >> I don't like bishops anymore. >> The male suspect, Luther, was charged with operating a suspended registration. He entered no plea and was found guilty. He was ordered to pay $390.20 in fines and court costs. The female suspect, Amanda, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated battery on a peace officer, resisting and domestic battery with physical contact. She took a plea deal, pleading guilty to the resisting charge, while all other charges were dismissed. She was sentenced to 2 years of probation, ordered to perform 100 hours of public service, and ordered to enroll in a partner abuse intervention program. >> [sighs] >> I mean, so six months probation or two years probation. Um, had to pay fine and then do domestic abuse with the enrollment in a program because she was hitting her husband. Uh, yeah. I mean, look, it's probably these kids already have enough stacked on them already. Um, but they made a a re they made a situation that's not great that they put themselves in a lot worse with their behavior and they're lucky that the judge dropped a lot of the charges and then only stuck him with the one and then the other guy he just got a fine of $390 plus their toe fees probably going to be another $500 $600 at least. So I don't know. I mean I I think that these guys handle the the law the law enforcement officers handled it very well. The police handled it very well. They were very patient with these two, tried to give them every opportunity, but they continued to go down the road. And I get that they're angry and they're frustrated, but really their own actions that continue to put them in this position that continue to cost them money. And I doubt that they didn't say they were on their way to work. So, it was obviously driving somewhere they didn't necessarily need to go and then this is what happened. So, let me know what you think. How did uh how did they do? I thought they did good. But I'd love to know what your thoughts are on this case.
