I can't sit down the bus driver told me I can't sit down. And who are you? >> I'm a police officer. Sit down, sir. >> So you're above him? >> Sit down, sir. We're not Come on. Let's not be five. Sit down. >> All right, everybody. Welcome back. We got another video for you. This one comes from Body Cam Watch and it is when an angry passenger brings the entire bus to a stop. We've had videos at airports. We have had videos in traffic stops. This is our first bus video. I didn't even know people were still taking the bus, but let's go. Let's check it out. I haven't seen it. >> January 18th, 2024, an officer responded to a call about a disruptive passenger on a Greyhound bus. >> Is he Is he being hostile? >> Let's go, man. Let's go. >> Where is he at? >> Right here with the black with the black jacket, he's right there. >> Okay. All right, you need to come off this bus right now. I'm talking to you. You need to come off this bus, then. No, you can come out here and talk to me. Yes. You can >> All those poor passengers are like, I just want to go where I'm going. I mean, they're already on the bus, which is going to take a lot longer than, let's say, a plane. And now they just want to get from point A to point B and they got this guy raising hell. >> talk to me right out here. There is no reason. He has the right to refuse you, so get off. I don't Come talk >> All right, we've talked about this before. Whether it's a bus, whether it's a plane, those are businesses. This is a business, the bus. So they have the right to remove you or kick you off. And it's could They're right. That's part of the freedom piece. It goes towards businesses as well. >> to me out here. It does not matter. We can talk right out here. Okay, that's fine. He has the right to refuse you. Yes. If you are causing a nuisance to him, you have the right. Come down here. Come down here. I'm not doing this. We're not playing court on the side of the road. >> Oh, there you go. That's one of Frank's lines. We're I'm holding court on the side of the road. >> You can ask me a question out here. I asked you something, if you give me something, I'll give you something. I asked you to step off the bus. That's what I asked you. Okay. All right, if you want to play that again, that's fine. >> What person is a what? >> I'm not arresting you. I'm telling you to get off the bus. >> I was ejected for one reason. I >> I'm asking you to get off the bus. That is the reason. I am asking you. Let's not be children and argue back and forth. >> Look, I get it. He wants to know, but it's not like he's in the privacy of his home. He's in He's on the bus. It belongs to a Greyhound, it looks like. And they're saying they want him removed. And so, now the police officer is giving you, or deputy is giving you commands to get off the bus. So, you're kind of put you're painting yourself into a corner here, dude. >> It's I won't I won't talk to you. >> I paid bills. >> Sir, >> What do you mean? >> come on. Are you Do you really want to do this? That you want to be a child and argue like a child. >> Child, you want to see what he >> Sir, if you want to come over here and talk to me like an adult so I can hear your side. >> I will talk to you, but I will not leave the outside of this bus. >> Well, I am not coming back there. So, you can come my Okay. >> I like that that she didn't go back there. I know it's weird she's screaming across the bus back and forth to him. The bus aisles are very tight. You put yourself in a little bit of a disadvantage. She wants him off the bus, so she wants him to come to her. And you know, I think it's well played. >> So, you're willing to be selfish enough to hold up everybody else that has places to go. >> You're damn right. Cuz you know why? Because the problem was someone was on their phone and was loud, and he came over to the speaker phone. >> Don't be Hey, how about you sit down for a second then. >> I can't sit here. I was told to sit down. I can't sit here. I can't sit here. >> Do you see a seat right >> I can't sit here. >> Okay. >> I was told I can't sit here. I will not. Do you want to talk to me or not? >> I do want to talk to you, but >> Okay, standing up at me You're >> standing up at me like this. >> Didn't you tell me to come down? >> I did. I did. >> Oh, you told me to come down, but now I'm standing up to you. >> No, I'm just telling you to come down. >> So, what am I supposed to do? >> Oh, boy. >> I can't sit there. >> What would you do in this situation? Are you going to go hands-on? Clearly, the bus driver doesn't want him on the bus anymore. So, the bus isn't going to continue until he comes off the bus. I ask you, like you're in this position, what do you do if you were this police officer or deputy? I'm not sure. Probably deputy. >> The bus driver told me to sit down. >> sit down. >> And who are you? >> I'm a police officer. Sit down, sir. >> Police officer. My bad. >> Sit down, sir. We're not Come on. Let's not be five. Sit down. >> Let's not be five. >> I'm 10-4. Can you have my 55 10-18? I have a hostile male. >> A hostile male? >> I'm trying to communicate with you, sir. >> to go back here, so I'm not so hostile. >> Okay, so you're not So, you're not going to listen to the adult. Okay, so you're not going to listen to my commands at all. >> Okay, here we go. I'll see how This guy, he's ready. He came up sprinting onto this bus. >> Come on. Get off the >> Who asked you that? Who asked you that? >> You need to get off this bus. >> Why are you so hostile to me? >> Get off the bus. Get off the bus. Get off this bus. >> Come on. Let's go. >> Let's go. >> Now, I'm curious to see whether this guy's attitude changes now that um there's two, but including a male officer and the We always say that you need you we use bass in our voice. Um What the the more seasoned you get, the more bass you get in your voice. Other men understand bass in the voice. It's It's authoritative authoritative and uh I'm curious to see what he does right now. >> All right, can I get you off my I was going to shoot you. I was going to shoot you. Put me down. I need Otis. >> All right, we're not going to do this. People need to go places. >> All right. >> All right, well then all right, well then you're under arrest. >> Here we go. >> Cuz you're not obeying awful laws. Turn around and put your hands up. You want to go to jail? >> Oh, I'm not I'm not turning around. Turn around. >> Just turn around. >> talk talk about >> He did change his attitude. >> Stop. >> You didn't tell me I was going to get a you're under arrest right now. >> All right, I'm going. >> Come on. >> I don't want I'm not going to have y'all beat me to this. >> Come on. >> I'm not. Can I can I go now? >> Come on. >> Can you please please? I'm telling you I'm going. I mean god damn he >> He changed substantially with the other officer there. Substantially. >> He asked you 15 minutes ago if you wanted to be off the bus. He didn't say nothing. >> Oh, come on. >> All right, put your hands put your back down real quick. You're under arrest. >> His tone is completely different. >> I'm not resisting. >> You're moving. >> I'm not. >> YOU'RE MOVING. STOP. WHAT are you Go down. >> I'm not resisting. >> Get down. >> Stop resisting. >> Put my hands up. >> Stop. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> My hands are up. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back, sir. >> Your hands need to go behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. >> I know people say I'm not resisting and then you watch this video and you're like, "Yeah, the guy's not resisting." Trust me, folks, you're not the one with your hands on the guy. You can't feel him fighting against you. They're They're They'll say they're not resisting all the while they're completely fighting against you with the their muscles, their arms not putting their arms behind their back. Just because he's not throwing punches doesn't mean he's not actively resisting. >> My hands are like >> Get down. Get down. >> What am I doing here? >> Put your hands Put your hands behind your back. >> Now. >> What am I doing? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No. I'm telling you now, sir. >> I'm going to take Stop resisting. >> Okay, I've talked about this before. This is where some strikes to the side would gain compliance and it's not excessive. You don't have to be excessive about it, but you can use certain techniques including strikes to gain compliance. >> I know. >> tase you if you do not if you do not put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Can you see me so I can do it? >> Stop resisting. Put your hands behind your back. >> There we go. You saw the difference, the looseness of his arm. >> You're getting your tased. >> He's fighting again. >> [panting] >> My hands are back here, please. >> I'm not pushing your head down. Holding you down so you don't get up. >> Can you please get my glasses? It's in my eye, please. >> Where are your glasses at? >> Right there. >> I got it. Get out of the way. >> Oh, okay. >> Oh. >> Deputy's there. >> I'm really on the bus over there at the Greyhound. I'm not I'm done. Seriously. Can I turn off the taser? >> Sir, I don't trust you right now cuz you said you were resisting earlier, so >> Sorry. You want to go grab your car? >> I just asked you. >> I got him. >> My luggage is right here. >> Compliant now, but he was real tough when when it was just the female officer there. >> I can't breathe. Please. I'm sorry. Thanks. >> That's far. >> Thank you. >> You got any other luggage? >> It's on you. It's not much fun, though. That's what what you get is what you got. I'm I'm just mad cuz I paid you $230 for this trip and >> I'm I'm I'm I'm going to slide you up, okay? All right, hold tight when we lift you up by your arm. >> Look, I'm not I'm not going to lie. I'd be mad, too, if I paid $230, but I I I would never get kicked off the bus. I mean, it's just not wouldn't misbehave to the point where I got kicked off the bus. This is what's happening here. >> 1 2 3 I didn't do anything. I love you, baby. >> Want to pass that real quick? >> Panama City So, we got some Panama City police and we got a deputy from that county as well. The green, that's a deputy. >> Is it cash? >> Yes. >> I'm just going to show it right here in front of the body camera so they see how much you have, okay? >> 50, 100. >> That way everything's documented. >> Got some cash on him. >> That's the best I can get them out of my hand. >> I'm sorry. >> That's the best I can get them out of >> Can I do a little bit? >> So, he's count That's quite a bit of cash. I stopped counting after a while cuz it's not I don't have to impound it, so I stopped counting. That's a lot of cash. Doesn't mean anything. Just you have you have the right to carry that amount of cash. Um plus he's on a bus, so clearly he's going somewhere where he needs cash. Um I forgot what I was going to say. I had another point I was going to >> The cash will be three bills. >> Okay, I'm going to put it back in your boots, please. >> Oh. >> I know what I was going to say. So, typically when there's a use of force like this where this guy probably could have got a citation and gotten released he's probably going to get booked in now. And a lot of that is because they had to use force. It just we've been burned so many times where you you you give a guy a citation and then they end up making complaints on you. So, send them take them to jail and impound all the body camera and nothing to hide here. >> You said you're >> What's the name of your district? >> We're in Bay County. >> Can Can I >> I know I've >> I know that, but can I please make a phone call to let them know where I might know where I'm at at least? >> Well, they'll tell you in a second. Let's Let's step on in, okay? >> When you guys >> So, he gets it. He knows he's wrong. I I would probably let him make a phone call at some point. >> Oh man. Come on, man. How you been? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. Just fighting one. >> What was wrong? Hopefully I don't step on them. >> Boy, was he the strong one. >> Double my height. All right. >> See his blast. >> Right here is his lens right here. >> Glasses and there's a pair of lens. >> All right, cool. >> I'm looking for my glasses. I had to throw mine out. >> Hey, so what was he doing when he got on the bus? >> So he uh the bus driver said he was just being loud, telling the bus driver he ain't nothing, he ain't a real N- word. >> What did the bus driver do? >> He he just left. Um >> [laughter] >> The bus as soon as they got him off that bus, that bus driver was like, "I'm out." Gone. >> His info. >> I know. And he was freaking >> I bet you he left before they even got this guy in cuffs. >> He just dipped. >> All right, let me call Let me call this [ __ ] >> Yeah, then apparently he was cheating so he wanted him off the bus cuz he was saying really outlandish things. He was like, "Get off the bus." Because he um he uh didn't want him on the bus for him talking the crap he was and then just wanted him off and he has the right to refuse you know, service. So I told him to get off. He said, "I'm not getting off. I don't think that's the right reason." I said, "It doesn't matter what you think is right. It's what's uh he has the right to refuse you and get another bus." >> After the situation calmed down, an officer went to check on the man. Hey, man. We're cool, right? We're good? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I just want to make sure I have no judgment on you. I had >> He's still still breathing heavy. It's always funny the guy that the the suspect they're usually not breathing heavy, especially when they're not when they're intoxicated, but then we're always uh amped up and breathing hard. >> my job and doing what I had to do, okay? >> I understand that. I was I was just more pissed off at him because I couldn't understand why and then she was like, "You're getting locked up now." And I'm like, "Under what grounds?" And then you just came in there and that's just what it was. I I asked him, I promise to God, you can ask anybody on that bus. I asked him, "Do you want me to get off? Is this the reason why we're stopping?" And he didn't say nothing. >> Where are you from? >> I'm from Indiana. >> You're from Indiana, okay. So, let me tell you something. Florida, you can get trespassed anywhere for any reason. So, that's a lawful reason for the bus driver to want you off the bus. And we come on the table and finish >> And he was nice enough not even wanting to trespass you, so you can go back. He just wants you to take another bus cuz he didn't like the way you were talking to him. It made him feel unsafe, whether you, you know, that's his feelings. He's He's entitled to them. >> And that's why I was asking because I don't know that >> Oh, look how he's pretending to be all nice. I was just asking him, you know, and No, he he was he wasn't even really like yelling or screaming, but he was certainly defying, especially even when the female police officer came on. He was refusing to leave. >> respectful of the laws. >> Right, and that's why I told you. I said >> Please please stop You know what I'm saying? Respectfully. This is the same way I was talking to you on the bus. >> No, you were not, but >> No, no. Look at me. It's the same way I was talking to you on the bus. No, no. >> Can you face towards me real quick? Let's just document all this, okay? You have a little cut right here on your chin. >> He was charged with disorderly intoxication, trespassing, and resisting with violence. >> Surprise, surprise, alcohol was involved. >> This is all his? >> He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. >> Look, I'm all for carrying a gun. I'm I'm all about exercising that right. This guy, if he's a felon, he knows that he can't have a gun. So, him in you in in possession of it, he knows he's putting himself in a tough situation. All right. Well, felony possession of a firearm, being in possession of that by uh resisting arrest, the intoxication, disorderly conduct. All right, looks like they got it right to me. Um how do you think they handled it? How would you have handled this in this situation? Especially if you're a female officer standing there at the front of the bus, this guy's doing what he was doing there, you know that there's probably going to be a physical confrontation. How would you do it? I like that she waited for somebody else to show up. Very difficult to fight in those types of close quarters. I don't think he would have given her the respect. Once the second guy showed up, his attitude changed completely. They got him off the bus and in cuffs, and he ended up getting getting arrested when once again, all you had to do was comply and get off the bus and they would have sent him on their way and the bus driver would have went on their way, and that was it. But no. No. No. He made the situation worse. So, let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe, and we'll catch you on the next video.
