Uh one of the most frustrating things in police work is dealing with traffic. I mean, frankly, there's a lot of people that probably shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car because they are completely clueless behind the vehicle a wheel of a vehicle, especially when it comes to deviating from something. This person's obviously trying to get this uh trooper's trying to get them to do something. >> Get up here. You. Come on. Come on. Oh, boy. Now he's got to walk back there. I'll tell you what, I'm walking straight up to him. Impact push, maybe a leg sweep sweep depending on where he's at cuz I don't want to push him into traffic. So, I'm going to try to position my body to where I can move him more towards the car and the wall. But, we're going to go hands-on. Trooper Alby, show me another unit. I got one. Now people could say, "Well, he wasn't using force." He was aggressive. He was standing in traffic. The way he drove his vehicle up, his body language, all of these things are a use of force as well. This guy's trying to get him to move up, had to walk back to his vehicle only for him to start cursing and yelling at the cop uh the trooper and now he wonders why he's in the situation he's in. Then he screeches drives up quickly, screeches to the back of the of the trooper's car. No, I'm not. You haven't? I'm being Don't touch my Don't touch my elbow, man. I'm trying to tell you Can you stand out I have that very clear. I've lost half my arm. But you used force. You see my wrist? This is how I make my money. But you used force. When I tried to look at you, you said you want TO TALK TO ME LIKE a man. You bent me over like a hook. Can you get another unit for a transport? So, why are What is going on with you today? Then when you stopped, you were blocking the right lane. And then you were standing in the highway, and you wouldn't get out of the roadway. So, you pulled your taser on me, and then started using it. >> effort to gain compliance from you, yes, I did. >> Gaining compliance or violence is your turn. So, I You let it got up behind him. He got in the left lane, still speeding at 74. I light him up. He slams on the brakes after he realizes I'm pulling him over, almost causes a crash. He didn't pull over on the right shoulder. He's still blocking the right lane. So, I I had to get over up here. He's behind me, and By the way, not a fan of the trooper hat. Never have been. Never wore it as a sheriff. Some of our guys did. I didn't like it. I wore cowboy hat. >> I'm waving him up, trying to get him to come up here. Okay. >> He says he's not doing that. >> I'm going to have a lot of troopers on here that aren't going to like that, but it's just my personal opinion. I don't like the trooper hat. >> Or is it? Almost rear ends the car, gets out in the right lane of traffic, refuses to get out of the right lane of traffic. So, I pull my taser out, and I say, "Get out of traffic." He steps over partially onto the right shoulder, wouldn't move. So, I grabbed him, put him over here. He starts pulling away. Hold on. But anyways, when I Are Are your feelings hurt? Is that what it is? Yeah, because you failed to comply with the lawful order. He looks like a drill sergeant yelling at a soldier. Yeah, if he tells you to do something, you're supposed to do it. You're blocking the road. I don't need to have them. What do you want done with your vehicle? What do you want to do with it? Uh whatever you want to do with it. You want to leave it roadside or you want it to be towed? I can have AAA come get it right now. AAA? I mean I can have my wife come get it right now. She's 5 miles down the >> And you can have your wife come get it if you want. It's on the right shoulder now. If it was me, I'd just leave it. Look, that's pretty cool of them to let him take his vehicle away. I think it's the right thing to do as well. I mean, look. I don't like too much Big Brother, so I think this is the right thing to do is let him. If he'd have been compliant, this would have gone different. Um but you're still giving him a chance to get his vehicle. Do you understand why you're going to jail? For uh You want to excessive size your right >> Excessive size? No, it's not a law. Resisting, okay? When I give you a lawful command >> I resist? >> you to get out of the roadway >> dude. And then when I put my hands on you, and you pull away from me, that's resisting. So you're under arrest for resisting. You know what? I didn't want you to grab me. Listen, wait. I don't care. Okay. You You can take me to jail. >> it very clear you don't care. >> Wait. This is a traffic stop for speeding. You escalated. If I lose my job and all that [ __ ] you did a great job trying to prove me a lesson, but you No, I don't disagree with this guy. I mean, I don't I don't love resisting. I always saved resisting if you were actually resisting in this particular case. I would have given this guy maybe reckless driving because he just slammed on his brakes, which is still a misdemeanor. And and merits an arrest and speeding. And then probably cited and released him and sent him on his way. You did a great job. Remember when you bent me over and twisted my fingers up? I just wanted to talk to >> I also would have checked to see if he was under the influence of something as well. That's when you were resisting. >> remember all of that, yeah. So you take me to jail. We're done talking, [ __ ] Have a good day. The man was charged with resisting arrest. Full case details [music] are not available for this incident. Okay, so he did get charged with resisting arrest. Uh I don't know. I mean, I get it I get it why. I would have charged him with reckless driving just for him the way he drove up and slammed on his brakes behind the truck. And the fact that he was sitting partially in traffic and uh probably failure to obey obey a police order a lawful order by not coming up. Um and then probably the speeding and I would have given him a citation, taken the handcuffs off and sent him on his way. But, this is what this guy felt, right? I wasn't there.
