Don't, no. You're not free to leave. HE'S RUNNING, David four, he's running. Stop running. All right, everybody, welcome back. We got another video for you. This one comes from Midwest Safety and it is bank scammer finally gets what he deserves. I haven't seen it. Let's go. I don't like thieves, you know that. Oh. Oh. He's running, David four, he's running. Okay. Stop. Don't show me the whole thing before THE VIDEO STARTS. >> [laughter] >> STOP RUNNING. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. THAT'S ONE OF THOSE SITUATIONS WHERE YOU GOT to commit to going hands-on. And in this particular case, you had him right there up against the wall in a corner. You got to go hands-on, hard hands, go low, take his legs out from underneath him. This is where I think jujitsu is extremely important or some type of a jujitsu and then conditioning, you know, doing fight training helps you a ton in these situations so that you uh when you get somebody down like that, you can take control of them. HE'S RUNNING THROUGH TRAFFIC. DAIRY QUEEN PARKING LOT. RUNNING back towards Fiber. You're not going to get away. You can't let this old dude Dude, this guy outrun you. Tase him. TASE HIM. STOP. OH. STOP. STOP. YEAH, that's a pressure point. STOP. STOP. AH, CRAP. >> AWAY. Charles Adam, Charles. He went towards Tibbetts. Yeah, I don't know which way it went once it hits once it hits Tibbetts. There's a Washington plate. wallet and then the coat. Where's all the uh Where's the check and all that? Can I see it? Before the officer arrived at this bank, the suspect was attempting to cash in a fraudulent check. Freaking thieves. This is the most The worst part is when they get back into a car. Obviously, um they may not even have a pursuit policy and wherever these guys are at. >> suspect is involved in a much larger organized financial crime operation than police currently realize, the officer now questions the bank manager to find out more about the situation. Dang it. Okay, why do we think this is He's still trying to catch his breath. Okay, that's when their house got broken into? >> Yeah. Okay. Or 2:00 a.m., sorry. All right, thank you. Sorry about So, they broke into the house, took some checks. Um now he's trying to pass a fraudulent check off to the bank and thankfully the bank snuffed it out. >> Well, that's all good. Just irritated he got away. He got in that car and started it and I didn't want to hold onto him. That's a good way to get hurt. And of course, I had to give my taser to our DT guy, so I didn't have it or else I'd have hit him with that. Dang it. This is him. So, >> [clears throat] >> the tasers have to be charged or sometimes the battery dies off and you got to go and take them back to your defensive tactics guy is usually who manages the all of the inventory of tasers and so he probably didn't have his Well, clearly he didn't have his taser on or else like he said, he would have tased him. Dang, I wish he would have gotten tased. >> manager informs the officer that she spoke to the real owner of the check and they revealed that their house was broken into just a day prior to the incident and their vehicle was stolen as well. This leads police to believe [music] the suspect who fled from the scene is also the one who broke into that house in order to steal the check and the vehicle. While there are still even more pieces to the puzzle yet to be uncovered, two days later, an officer with the Track and Field Police Department notices the same vehicle We could have used some track and field on that foot pursuit. >> [laughter] >> where the suspect fled and parked across the street. 60 ft 60 ft TASE YOUR ASS. STOP. POLICE DEPARTMENT, STOP RIGHT THERE. SHAKING camera's going to get me dizzy. Hey, you're going TO GET TASED. STOP. ANYBODY ELSE GETTING DIZZY? LET ME PAUSE IT FOR A second cuz this thing going back and forth is making me dizzy. Is it the same guy? The same officer? 700 ft From beyond the wall. Marine and Sus crossing the street headed eastbound. You got to get this dude today. Please tell me he has his taser. Hey dude, JUST STOP. STOP RIGHT THERE. Tase him. You got to be careful because you don't know if he has a gun or what. Yeah. That's pretty good. He ran an average of 8 miles per hour. Um 1,160 ft. That's really good. Kudos to this guy. And uh you're gassed and now all of a sudden you got to fight with the guy? There's my 18, I got him from the water apartment lot. The good thing is the guy is tired, too. Dude, don't move. Dude. Sit down. Dude, don't move. Oh. Good for him. Good job. Dispatch 18, one in custody. You think we run like that, bro? Come on. I ain't going to chase you. You get up for me? What? Bravo, officer. Bravo. Come on, grab his phone and then You're all good. You're all giving me a workout, right? Anything on you guys? You good to go? Okay. You You stick me? Some wallet, some change. Show your feet for me. Thanks for Do you have any injuries we need to know about? Yeah. You think they were doing Uh I definitely need to Those What were you running for? I had sprained it. Here you go. Here you go. All right. Tough. Let's go sit in the back of here. He's got some change in his pocket. Sit down. Go. Probably needs some shoes out of jail. Oh, okay. Oh, I got gear on, brother. Come on now. That was a good little run, though. Can you feel him? Yeah. Just need to confirm the Oh. Just name date of birth. Yeah. We should have popped his door while we were here. It would be easier. All right, he's a tough. What's up, buddy? Got some change in your pocket. Two fingers worth of change in your pocket. Okay. When we get out, I probably have to take them off anyway. That's okay. You're all good. Yeah. You're all good. What's your middle initial, Shane? Oh, I um Cops being really cool of them considering he's uh tried to run Well, he ran from them twice. I'm assuming this is the same guy. Yeah, I'm Maybe not. >> I'm a little delirious from the run. I just don't want to say anything. >> Okay, no problem. I'll just grab it from there. Okay, yeah. And you said your foot hurt your foot hurts, correct? Um yeah, this foot does. I don't know what I did to it. I don't know if I got it cuz of the boots I just got. Okay, so your right or left foot? So I can let them know. Left foot? Okay. The suspect is now checked out at the hospital, medically cleared, and promptly taken to jail. As police still don't have all the details of the fraud scheme the suspect is involved in, a day later, an officer questions him about the missing information. So, real quick, um body cam on you know, state of Washington, we're required to record anytime we talk to people. Um So, that's right. You understand that's how it works, right? Mhm. So, again, I'm Detective Story with LVPD. I'm here to talk to you about something that happened in Longview here over the past week. Wondering if you want to talk to me a little bit about what's going on. Um I haven't spoken to a lawyer yet and I'm just not uh all there. I pretty much prefer to have a lawyer present for >> Okay. So, kind of what's happening just so you know, we won't talk about it. Incident happened this week. So, at this point, he has requested an attorney. So, you're not really able to You can't ask him any questions at this point. So, now what it looks like is the officer is going to explain to him what the situation is. Obviously, we wear body cameras. The officer says you ran from him on some stuff. He's requesting a warrant just because you're here. So, what will probably happen is uh I I won't come back here, right? It's a decent of a drive. So, I'm assuming the judge PA is going to get a warrant for you, extradite extradite you back to Longview, and then go from there. So, I I won't talk with you again. Uh I'm just imagining when you get there you'll get an attorney. Uh do you have any other like warrants around here that you've got to hit handle while you're here? I don't believe so. Okay. So, So, he can ask him a question about that because it's not pertaining to the crime that they're investigating. So, the question was whether he had warrants, which is not out of bounds. It has nothing to do with him um with the case. So, >> Whenever you bail out of here, uh they'll ship you back to Cowlitz County, and then you'll see a judge or whatever the bail is, and then you can bail out there. But, just so you know, kind of that's I'm guessing what's going to happen. Okay. All right. Any questions about that? No. Okay. All right. Well, I I figured, but I had to come up here and give it a try to talk to me. I am going to turn this off right now, but you did understand that this was recording, right? >> Yes. Okay. Fortunately for police, the jail sergeant of the county jail happens to be directly involved in this case to fill in the missing details of the situation. The jail sergeant's wife was at a concert days prior when the license plate off of her car was stolen. What are the chances of that that the license plate for the jail sergeant's wife was stolen? And then replaced with another different stolen license plate. The license plate was then found to be on the vehicle the suspect used to flee the bank and he was attempting to cash in the fraudulent check. Police are now able to put the full story together. The suspect broke into a house to steal a check and then stole the homeowner's vehicle as well. He then swapped the license plate of the stolen vehicle with the license plate off the jail sergeant's wife's car. He then drove this vehicle to the bank the day after to attempt to cash the fraudulent check in for $3,000. However, bank staff knew the check was fraudulent when the suspect signed the name that belonged to an incarcerated person. Bank staff then called police, which is what led to the first incident shown in the body cam footage. The suspect, identified as Shane, was charged with felony forgery or counterfeiting, identity theft, two counts of felony possession of stolen property, felony fleeing eluding a police vehicle, obstructing a public servant, and resisting arrest. He was They stacked it on him. They stacked it on him. adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 22 months in prison and 12 months of probation. He will be released back into the public in April of 2027 and, as of the time of publication, is lodged at the Cedar Creek Correction Center in Washington. All right. There you have it. I love it when justice is served. This guy ran from the cops in one other in in a different location. Then he got into another foot foot pursuit. Um this time they caught him, and uh he's now doing 22 what? 20 months? 22 months in jail or prison. So, he'll get out in a few months, well, a year from now probably. And then he's going to have 12 months pro 12 months probation, which means he's probably not allowed to uh they're going to have a whole slew of things that he can and cannot do, and if he violates any of that, he would go back to prison. So, I think this was uh Look, I always I I always wish they would probably get more time in this situation because he broke into somebody's house, tried to pass a fraudulent check, stole a vehicle, uh switched license plates, a lot of victims along the way, and uh and then I just don't like thieves. So, I I wish he probably would have got a little bit more. But, let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. How did these guys do? Bravo to the officer on that foot pursuit. The way he ran after him, didn't give up, eventually got the guy, and uh this guy's now doing time in prison for it. So, well done. Comment, like, subscribe. We'll catch you on the next video.
