I knocked knocked knocked again. She ignored me. I opened the door. I don't remember if I walked in. I said, "Can I talk to you?" Something like that. And then she started screaming at me. >> All right, everybody, welcome back. We've got another video for you. This one comes from Police Body Cam Station, and it is HOA Karen calls 911 on new neighbors, gets arrested instead. This might be the most uh rewarding video. I don't know. I haven't seen it. Let's go. >> The big issue we have here is number one, why would you go into somebody's home and confront them like that? And number two, >> I wasn't thinking straight. >> And number two, do you think it is all right to grab somebody in their in their own home, on her deck like that? >> We got ourselves a problem here. >> As I said, I wasn't thinking straight. >> On September 27th, >> Now you're going to go to jail. Now you're going to go to jail and have plenty of time to think straight. >> Dispatched to a suburban [music] home after a spiteful Karen illegally entered her neighbor's home and forcefully grabbed the owner's arm after not getting her way. >> Actually, let me let me talk to you real quick. You want to get there? >> I said they won't allow me to do that. >> What's that? Hey ma'am, can you bring her out? Hold on. I got to We got to talk to you. So, you can't take a walk over here. Here, come here. Ma'am. Ma'am, I'm talking to you. Come here. I'm telling you to sit tight here for a second, okay? Can you tell me what's going on? Why are we here? >> Because they're provoking me. That's why. >> What What does that mean? What is provoking me? >> [snorts] >> Hold on. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. >> You're They want to make me the bad guy. >> I'm I'm So, I'm I'm talking to you, and you are not free to leave, okay? So, you can't walk away from me when I'm trying to investigate if a crime occurred. >> Now, I love this cop already, or this deputy, whoever it is. >> You're here right now. So, you chose to walk over here. >> Mhm. >> I am now addressing you out here, okay? >> Okay, fine. >> So, can you tell me what happened there? >> Yes. >> She's not only did she bother people, she's smug about it. And I think this is going to make it even even better when she gets held accountable. >> Last Sunday between 4:30 and 5:30, they were making this obnoxious noise. As you can see, my deck is straight earshot. >> Where do you Where do you live? >> right there. >> What's What number or what house number? >> 56. >> So, 56 and they live over here, so a couple hundred feet away? >> I guess. I don't know. >> Sure, okay. >> [laughter] >> So, what what happened on Sunday? >> I came over and told them that there were some rules in the association about making that noise. They said, "You're new here. You don't know what you're talking about. We've been here 30 years." Basically, they could do whatever they wanted. They continued. >> Okay, so she's new to the neighborhood. And they're the ones that have been there a while, okay? >> Okay. >> I even with my windows closed, I could hear that obnoxious machine. >> Sure. And this is all on Sunday? >> Sunday night. >> Okay. >> Right, dinner [snorts] time. Can't be out on the deck. >> Okay. >> Continued all day Monday, even as late as 7:00. Part of the day Tuesday. On Tuesday, we had a board meeting. I spoke to the president of our board. Told him about this. I asked him, "What can I do on a Sunday evening like that?" He said, "Call the police." Well, that was not something I wanted to do, okay? So, when they started up again, Sunday at 5:00. Now, does that sound like they were intentionally trying to aggravate me? >> No. Sounds like they were doing whatever they were doing. Why is this about you? >> I think so. I came over to talk to her. She wouldn't turn off the machine. >> Let's slow down. So, what do you mean when you came over, you talked to her? >> She was on her deck >> Okay. >> making noise. >> Where did you go? >> On this side of the deck fence. >> Okay. So, what he's establishing is that she was on their property. >> I said, "Can you turn that off? Can I help you?" >> Did you go inside her house? >> No, not at that point. I was trying to talk to her. >> you were talking to essentially outside where we were originally. Okay. Now, what happened after that? >> turn off the machine. >> Okay. >> She completely ignored me, pretended I wasn't there. >> Okay. >> I went onto the deck. I tried to grab the machine. >> What do you mean you went onto the deck? How did you get into the deck? >> There's an opening right in front of those. >> So, there's a door to the to the unit? >> No. There's >> She's starting to realize her mouth's getting dry. She's starting to realize she might be in trouble. How did you ask your companion how he got on the deck? >> There's a gate in front of the door to the house. Okay? It's a gate onto the deck. I went onto the deck. I tried to grab the machine to get her to stop and listen to me. >> Mhm. >> She started yelling, "Don't touch me. Don't touch me." >> Mhm. >> Their dog was barking at the door. The inside door was open. I knock knock knock. There was somebody sitting in there. She saw me. I knock knock knock again. She ignored me. I opened the door. I don't remember if I walked in. I said, "Can I talk to you?" Something like that. And then she started screaming at me. So, I >> Yeah, cuz you walked in her house, lady. >> came out and I called you folks. And I went over there to tell them I'm so upset. I went over there to tell them that the president of the association told me I should call the police and I did not want to do that. Okay? That's why I went over there. But, here we are anyway. >> When you're grabbing the leaf blower, did what did you just grab the leaf blower? Did you grab her arm? >> I was so annoyed and aggravated. >> So, you were grabbing something. >> I was trying to get her to stop and listen to me. >> uh anything though? Like, did you physically hang on to something? >> something. I didn't >> So, you did grasp at something is is what you're saying. You grabbed something. >> to. I don't think I actually grabbed anything, though. >> Do you remember grabbing her arm at all? To prevent her from trying to >> Remember, police don't ask questions they don't already know the answers to. They already know that she grabbed her by the arm. So, they're testing to see if she's and basically they're walking her into her own admission of this. >> blow the leaf blower. >> She was pointing it at me, so I may have done that. She was starting to point it at me. >> Okay. Well, there is a mark on her arm. >> Okay, then I guess I grabbed her arm. >> her arm. Okay. The The big The big issue we have here is number one, why would you go into somebody's home and confront them like that? And number two, >> thinking straight. >> And number two, >> No, you were not. >> think it is all right to grab somebody in their in their own home on her deck like that? >> As I said, I wasn't thinking straight. >> I'm I'm just asking, do you think that's okay? >> I think if somebody's ignoring me >> Oh, no no no no no no. Do you think it's okay? >> over there with the intention >> So, sometimes you ask the question, what would you want us to do if somebody walked into your home and grabbed you by the arm? And see what their response is on that. >> of grabbing her. >> But, you came over there to confront her about the leaf blowing. You didn't You didn't >> went over to tell them I didn't want to call the police. >> Okay. And then what happened? But, you said after she ignored you >> and listen to me. >> But, then you went onto her deck onto her private property. >> So, does that kind of does that make that okay? Where are we going? Where are we going? We aren't going anywhere. >> Told you she had dry mouth. Cuz you know she's in trouble. >> I am stopping to talk to you and I said you cannot leave because we are past the point here right now. >> I confess. I went up on her deck. I tried to grab something to get her to stop making noise and listen to me. If I grabbed her arm, I grabbed her arm. >> You can't do that. >> Okay, I can't do it. >> You absolutely cannot do that. >> Put her in cuffs. >> I can't do it. >> Absolutely. Do you have your driver's license, Anya? >> No, I don't. >> Okay, I'm going to need your basic information, okay? >> Put her in cuffs. Like she's arrested. That's it. >> 95? Let me get her info first, okay? So, I did have a conversation. Not right now. >> [laughter] >> Can you spell your last name? >> We got deputies. >> After talking to her, she did admit to going onto her property and attempting to stop her. She did uh say that she grabbed onto something and she did acknowledge that she obviously entered her property without their consent, so you do understand that you can't do that regardless, right? >> Mhm. >> Okay, so you committed a battery, okay? >> And criminal trespass. >> And criminal trespass to >> and disorderly conduct. >> Okay, fine. >> And you can't touch anybody. >> I got it. >> You do got that, okay? Turn your hands behind your back, you are under arrest, okay? We are past this point, ma'am, okay? >> Well, they must be loving this. >> Yes, I'm sure they are loving it. We are all loving it. I'm sorry, she seems like she's probably I don't even know if she might uh Don't go bother people. Don't bother people. >> Okay. >> Let's walk over here. >> Just a moment. My husband >> Where is is he home? Okay, is he home? >> home. long. >> You won't be gone very long regardless cuz you're going to have to come back. You're not You're not being held in jail, okay? You're going to get your charges, your documentation, and then you're going to go to your court date. >> So, this is basically like a site and release, but yeah, you put her in cuffs. I mean, is she needs to understand this. It is spiteful giggling. >> I can walk better if you both hold me up. >> I've told you why we hold on to people. They did They don't want you to hold on to their arm. They're in handcuffs, okay? So, if she were to all of a sudden fall forward and hit her face and we were should weren't holding her, then we would get sued. So, we're not going to not hold on to you. Plus, we don't want you running off, not that she's probably going to run off, but that's one of the other reasons we hold on to you as well. We don't want you turning around and kicking us. We don't want any of that. This gives us an ability of control, but even more so, it's so that we can protect her from hurting herself because her hands are behind her back, she would not be able to brace herself if she did fall. >> That's fine. I'm just guiding you, ma'am. >> Thank you. >> I'm glad to see you're making light of all this, especially when we're trying to reiterate what you did is obviously not okay. You could call 911 regardless of what's going on. You aren't the police. You don't have the legal authority to go to somebody's house to do >> Well, that is police, not sheriffs. >> our job. >> Well, I told you my intention. >> Well, your intention and where you're at is different, so we'll go walk over here. >> In the end, Karen was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and criminal trespass. Aggravated battery a lot of times is a uh felony. I mean, we have batter We have a like uh assault, and then we have aggravated assault. Aggravated assault is usually when you um you hurt somebody or cause long-term physical damage or something like that, break a nose, a body part, cut them, anything that would leave long-term physical damage. I don't know if there's a different wherever this is, but uh it seems yeah, aggravated battery maybe because of she was in the home, somebody else's home when she did it. That could be part of it. >> for entering [music] private property and grabbing the neighbor by the arm, leaving visible marks. >> All right, for all of you out there who have had a bad neighbor in the past, this was uh a little bit probably uh you probably enjoyed this video. I'd love to know what you think. How did they handle it? I thought they they walked her into her story. She ultimately acknowledged everything they were saying. She acknowledged she went into the home. She acknowledged she tried to grab the blower. She acknowledged that she probably grabbed her by the arm. And in the end, I still don't think she understood just the severity of what she had done. She was still spitefully giggling. Um didn't I don't think think is was important as You just can't do that, man. You can't go bother people, and you can't go in their home, and you can't grab people in their own home. She's lucky something worse didn't happen to her, but let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. We'll catch you on the next video.
