What do we got? We got Chick-fil-A today. You can never go wrong with Chick-fil-A, waffle fries, delicious. >> We're going to go with Polynesian sauce and Chick-fil-A sauce. And since this is a classic, let's go with another classic, Midwest safety. Woman flees after cop discovers her secret. Here we go. >> Ma'am, your plates are expired. Oh, okay. Okay, I'm sorry. The dog's like, "Get me out of here. This lady's crazy." Uh, doesn't seem safe to have her dog like that. >> We've been broke. I'm sorry, buddy. Hold on. We've been broke this month. Um, we had to wait till this weekend. Come here, buddy. Come here. He's a sweet boy, huh? He is. He's a sweet. Is it snowing? Yeah, it does look like it's I think it's snowing on his snow on the dog's face. Um, do you have a driver's license? No. Okay. Is it like suspended or something? Um, it it is suspended. I had to go to the bathroom and he had to Oh, okay. Where do you live at? We're over here uh by the storage unit. What's your first name? I'm Tiffany. What's your last name? Oh, oh. Okay, buddy. Um, I'm sorry. I don't know why he's acting like that. >> It's okay. I mean, I'm standing at the window and I'm talking to you, so. Hi, buddy. Aw, look at that. Look at that. Why is your license Is it suspended or revoked or Um, yeah, it is suspended. Do you have insurance? What? I'll sit back so you can close the window and kind of search for that and I'll come back up. >> to call my mom and see um if she could send me an updated version. I should have it, but um An updated insurance? >> Yeah. >> Do they pay for it? Um, so no. Well, they help us, yeah. >> Okay. It goes to that address, though. Yes. Okay. All right. You can close the window, get him Okay. for the insurance. I'll come back up. >> Okay, stop with the dog. The officer now runs the driver's name, and what she learns would change the course of the Oh, boy. Shocker. What do you think it is? Uh suspended license for I'm going to say multiple warrants. What if she's a murderer? >> [laughter] >> I don't think she's a murderer. I do think she is a a drug addict. All right, I'm going to go up there and check with her. She was looking for her insurance. I don't know if she has a So, she was over here at the storage units cuz her and her boyfriend or whatever have their [ __ ] there. So, maybe she has somewhere she can put the dog. Hey, could you find the insurance? This cop is being so nice to her. So, there's kind of a problem. Your license is revoked for two alcohol violations. So, you're going to go to jail. Um I thought the first time you get caught, they don't your It's an arrestable offense no matter what. It really is? Yeah, it is. I arrest people on it all the time. Would there be a way that we could No. Do you have someone that can come get him? I won't tow your car and stuff like that. Would it be possible if we just um let me go and walk? It's just so much chaos out here. I'm just stressing me out, actually. that they don't arrest you. >> No, that's not Yeah, that's not how it works. It's It's an arrest See why she thinks that? Because she's not used to a thing called accountability. Consequences. Consequences. Oh, I thought you'd give me a a free pass. And so, she's out here driving. >> The reason why she doesn't have her license, folks, is cuz she's been caught with two alcohol-related offenses. arrestable offense, so Can you show me that how that's an arrestable offense? Yeah, I'm going to put the cuffs on you. That's how I'm going to show you. [laughter] You can tell the the judge can tell you all about it tomorrow. >> Get out of the car and let me show you how it's an arrestable offense. >> Yeah. I do this all the time, Caitlyn. Like this is my job. I'm being nice with you. Do you have someone that can come get your dog or he's going to go to the pound? Do you have That's what I guessed, too. She lives in the storage units. You guys like live in it? We were staying in it right now. We're not living in it. >> Okay. Well, maybe We're not living in it, we're just staying in it. >> [laughter] >> We can park your car and our CSO can take the dog over to him. No, no, no, no. I'm here. I'm not being a No, I know. I'm just trying to help you. Stop it, like I don't Okay, he's fine. If it'd be possible if I just walk the car or I mean I leave the car and I could just walk to the storage unit with my dog. No, I can't, Caitlyn. That's not an option. So, you got to figure out how If [clears throat] you don't try to help me out, then we're just going to pull you out of the car. Because this I arrest people on this and it's an arrestable offense, so you're I don't have to. No, it is. I'm telling you now. Because it's not I'm not required to. Okay, you're going to get a warrant if you drive away. Oh, no. Don't issue a warrant, go get her. Go get her. Try to go over to the storage unit, see if she goes over there. I'm going to write a warrant for her. Okay, this is the problem. This is the problem I have with agencies and I'm not this knocking the cuz the the officers and the line level people then don't make the decisions, but when you fail to pursue for stuff like this, you know she doesn't have a license, she's got a she's got to go to jail for it and then she just takes off on you like that and you let her do it. This is why she thinks she can just take off. >> Because her criminal friends have told her, "Oh, it's okay. They won't actually arrest you." >> And then if you run, they won't uh That's why she thinks that. >> come and get you. Dispatch 2956, did you get the information that the vehicle fled from us? They went northbound on Fairgrounds. Can you air the information to Larimer County? They only have traffic charges at this point and eluding. Larimer County, so is this Wyoming? Listen, 20 minutes later, the officer and her partner surprised the suspect and her boyfriend at the storage unit they've been living in, where the situation would get even worse. Timothy, can you open the door and talk to me? Okay, is it just you in there? Okay. This is so sketch. Talking to 71, do you want to come This is really sketchy. over to the unit. Caitlin, open the door now. Here's the thing is you don't know what they have in there. Oh my gosh, this is so dangerous. What's your name? Caitlin, you're under arrest. Come out now with your hands in the air. Caitlin? Yes. Now, you better be ready for anything. Police department, both of you come out with your hands in the air now. 1's in 10-41, we got a party inside. YOU READY? HANDS IN THE AIR NOW. HANDS IN THE AIR NOW. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. GET ON THE GROUND. YEAH. GET ON THE GROUND. Good job. You're under arrest. 941 FIGHTING WITH TWO. OH, SOMEBODY GOT TASED. DANG IT, I MISSED IT. Hopefully they show me that camera view. Wow. Oh, they've been living in there for a while. >> Please, I hope the dog's locked up. Guys, I'm not fighting with you. I'm I know. I just got to get your hands out. >> Okay, it's really What's going on? What's going on? Okay. She KO'd? Why Why is he Use your hands. Tow her Tow her car, too. Is it supposed to get your hands? Yeah. What's your favorite >> Deep breath. Good one, dude. Okay, good. Deep breath. I'm going to double cuff you, dude. Okay. Taser deployed. Can you start medical routine for a check? Why hey. It's okay, buddy. Are you friendly? I just feel bad for the dog in this situation. Complicating matters even further, officers don't know what was going on between Caitlyn and her boyfriend when they opened the storage unit. Now, they must attempt to get any information out of them they can about what was It almost looks like he was choking her out or something. Or she was She honestly seems like she might have been a little bit crazier that she was assaulting him. And he was trying to stop her. Yeah, I don't know. I thought they did a really good job getting in there and taking care of business. On your left side. Okay. Kick your feet in. Okay. First I thought it would be harder than a house, but it actually seemed easier than a house. Yeah. >> Now we're really to go inside. That's what I was saying. You get the element of surprise cuz there's no windows. Well, we'll get it So she He's got a bloody nose, which I think might have happened from from her. Oh, really? Yeah. I thought it was when he hit the ground. Possibly. >> [laughter] >> Thanks, dude. Oh gosh, thanks. Okay, so you want some medical attention to your face? What happened? No. No, I'm okay. Look at all the marks on his face. All right, let me go sit you in the back of my car so it's warm. Does that sound good? Yep. Do you have any weapons on you? No. Nothing on you that's going to poke stick me, guns, knives, or x bazookas? No. No. They always say bazookas. So, we're just doing this right now cuz you guys are both fighting and I need I need to figure out what's going on. >> fighting. Just trying to get to open the door. I'm just going to sit. >> [laughter] >> She was scared. >> We weren't fighting. I was just trying to get to open the door and they were fighting. She didn't want to open the door. I was scared. Anything [clears throat] I'm going to miss? No. All right. Take a seat in the car. Give me half a second to talk to my partner and then I'm going to talk to you. I'm going to talk to you, okay? >> They're going to get kicked out of that storage unit. All right. So, I don't know what was going on with the two of them. Is this their dog? Yeah. Oh. Hey pops. Come here, dude. I hope somebody nice will adopt Wyatt. [clears throat] Come on, dude. Will you unlock this so I can get my purse? Hey. Look, let's be real. The courts are going to probably let her out right away anyway. They always do. Well, let us put him in the back of your car. Will my dad come pick him up? Maybe. Here, can we get Here, look at me. Actually, I'm going to get a picture. Is her face butt wrapped up, too? >> to do it with Boy. All right. Yeah. Look at me. I don't want to take a picture. >> It's for It's not your face. It's documenting the props. You good, partner? Yeah. Good. Do you need any medical attention outside of getting tased? No. Nothing else hurts? No, I don't need medical attention. Well, they got to come check you out after getting tased either way, but Oh, I'm fine. So, he really didn't do anything. He's not even interested, like he has no part of it. We're trying to just figure out what was going on in there before we open the door. >> We had one there, one here, one here, and the other one was in the passenger seat. You put the dog in here? Yeah, he's just in your car chilling. So, we need to Mirandize her and figure out if there was a DV in there cuz I couldn't really understand them when they were arguing. I just We opened the thing. It's a Colorado, Larimer County, Colorado. And Windsor. And he's doing something. I see blood on his face, so I ripped him to the ground. Okay, let me talk to Yeah, definitely Mirandize you though, but All right, man. I'm just going to Mirandize you just because I don't know what's going on here in handcuffs. >> Okay. Do you have the rights to read to me? Tell it. Do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? Yes, sir. Just so you know, they probably abbreviated cut out the rights. So, somebody doesn't go, "You didn't read all the rights." >> Right. In the interest of time. Uh I'm open. You are? Okay. I appreciate it. My partner over there had stopped Caitlyn Mhm. on a traffic stop, discovered that her license was revoked for DUI. So, she was going to arrest her, and then she decided to flee in the car. So, that's how she ended up back over here, and that's why we came over here to see. We heard you guys arguing, and that's why we opened the door and all that. What was going on before we opened the door? I was just trying to get to the door. Okay. Was she preventing you from getting to the door? She was trying. What was she doing? Just pulling on my shirt and trying to just Which that's what it looked like to me. Mhm. Pulling me back. Okay. Is there a reason she was doing that? Scared. Scared? Why would she be scared of you going to the door? Well, because of what she did. Oh, yeah. She's been fighting some mental issues that she's never going to admit to. Yeah. I mean, it's scary to go to jail, but like her thing she probably would have been out today, maybe tomorrow. That's what I told her. >> [clears throat] >> I've been kicked out of three places now because of she just yells and screams and argues with someone that's not there. Mhm. You know, long story short, and Is she on any medication for any of that? >> No. I've been trying to get her Wouldn't that be kind of like a sign to hit the road? >> I know, but if you really cared about her, you wouldn't want to just leave her either. Trying to help her. I mean, honestly You did it. Yeah. >> in love with her before her mental health issues. to go, you know, to mental ward or somebody, but she doesn't think that she has a problem. How did you get the the blood on your bloody lip? I don't know. She might She might have accidentally got a nail on me on me or something. Like a scratch or hit or No, scratch. >> Did she ever like strike you? >> No. She didn't hit you or kick you or any of that? No, she was just trying to hold me back. Pulling on my collar and just like bear hugging me, trying to hold me back. Okay. What did you feel at that point when she was trying to do that? How did I feel? >> Yeah, when she was doing that. Sad, but knowing I can't run, you can't hide. It's I don't want a life of that. >> Yeah, that's fair. Things are >> Did you ever push her or hit her or any of that? No, no. I was just trying to push her off of me. No, I was just trying to get to the door with her at the same time. Okay. Is there anything else you want to tell me about what happened inside? That's it. I just want to double check with my partner to see what she has over there before I get you out of the cuffs, but if everything that you're telling me is true, then you're obviously not going to be arrested today for anything. >> Okay. All right, give me half a second. You want me to flag you? >> I have thank you for asking. Is is my little key just a The dog? Yeah. >> Yeah, he's just chilling in the back of one of our cars. Okay. Yep. I mean, he seems like a nice enough guy. Yeah. Checking in on the dog. What'd he say? Um, just said she was scared, didn't want to go to jail, and he's like, "No, we got to like face this." Uh-huh. She was holding on to him, like pulling him back to try and keep him from going out. Um, he said he might have gotten scratched in kind of the struggle from that. That's how he got the cut on his face or nose or whatever it was. So, she can go for that. Okay, do you see this little band across their badge? >> Mhm. So, we will put that black and blue or black band across our badge when somebody is killed in the line of duty. And typically, you'll wear it from the time that they were killed in the line of duty to the funeral. And after the funeral, you'll take it off. So, clearly, something had happened in Colorado. I see multiple a few of them wearing that. Uh, the shroud is what it's called across their badge. Talk to you. I was just going to talk to you and then cut him loose. >> Yeah, he can Sounds like he can stay. He was going to open it and she was making it and not. Mhm. While the audio is redacted shortly for privacy, the officer tells the suspect's boyfriend that she's under arrest. >> Dating? Currently dating? Yeah. Okay. Like off and on kind of thing or like 10 years straight? >> 10 years straight. She's straight. Man, this is a long time. She's been really bad for me. Yeah, you're good, man. This isn't your fault, man. You're just trying to do the best for her and sounds like she needs to get some help. >> Yeah. That's the hardest part. >> [laughter] >> I just feel so bad for him. It's tough to be in your position. Someone you love that does this stuff and treats you this way. Is that dog yours or hers or both of yours? Yeah. So we'll release him to you. Give me a minute, one more second. Okay, man. Yeah, give him his dog back, at least. >> Oh, I'll take care of that stuff with him. All right, you can hop on out. We'll get you out of these cuffs. They did the right thing by detaining him, though, cuz I mean >> Oh, obviously. How many times we talked about this? >> he was fine, but generally the other person is not fine. I have said it a million times. You can take the cuffs off, but it it's really hard to put them on after you let things get out of control. They took care of business. They They didn't know whether a domestic was going on. They didn't know what was going on. So both people get put in cuffs, then you figure out what's going on, and they're doing the right thing. They're releasing him, fortunately, and then the dog will be there with them. My guess is they're probably going to get kicked out of the storage unit, but you're not supposed to live in them anyway. >> This is what we call it a domestic violence case summary. It's totally voluntary for you to fill out if you want to or not. Just document things like from your Where do you go to the bathroom? Well, that's why she was driving. Probably going down to the Circle K or somewhere. I know I do have a couple knives in there and Yeah, I'd just stay away from those. That's all I ask of you. Go, buddy. So your life is chaotic, Wyatt. We'll just take a Is that a fork? Prior. Who did that, baby? Who did that, baby? Uh-oh. So just fill out the top to the best of your ability, if you can, for me. Okay. Hi, buddy. >> He's a good boy. He is a good dog, man. And sorry I'm so emotional right now. But you know when the dog was in the car, that he could feel the anxiety of owner. Mhm. And that she was she he could feel it and it was uneasy with the cops once they came there. Dude, you're fine. Let it out. Tough situation for you. It is It's been really hard. The last thing for you is a victim's rights pamphlet. Have you Did you own any of these in the past? Yeah. Yeah. You kind of know about it then. It's got to be cold in that storage unit. Thank you guys, man. Yeah. All right, man. You take care of yourself. Take care of your wife, okay? Okay. Okay. See you. Bye-bye. The suspect, Caitlyn, was charged with third degree Third degree assault, false imprisonment, resisting arrest. Oh, man, they stacked it on her. Vehicular eluding >> Well, she needs to get some help. >> false imprisonment, resisting [music] arrest, obstruction, driving on an alcohol-related revoked license, expired license plates, felony vehicular eluding, and domestic violence. She is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, and we hope she gets the help she needs. Yeah, you hope she gets the help she needs. She obviously mental health You saw this guy he's trying to help her, but it's >> He's not doing himself any favors, either, unfortunately. So, hopefully he doesn't get dragged down with her. And here's the code they talked about. A person who drives a motor vehicle with knowledge that the person's license or privilege to drive is restrained under this section 42-2-1, 26-3, because of a conviction of a DUI, DUI per se, which is what you fill out when you sign it uh get a driver's license, the admin per se DUI per se. DWAI or UDD commits a class two misdemeanor. >> Well, yeah, she admitted on camera that she knew she had a suspended license, so So, there you go. Oh. >> Well, folks, what do you think? Let us know what you think. How did they handle this? I thought they other than the fact that I'm sure it's the agency's policy to not pursue anybody um they were very patient. They went back. They found her back at >> pretty easy to find at the storage unit. Uh yeah, >> it's true. So, they find her at the storage unit and uh they end up taking them into custody. Did a great job putting the cuffs on people right away and they were able to sift through it, figure out what was going on and then ultimately they released him which is I thought they did a fantastic job. >> Yeah, it's got to be hard and hopefully this will be a little wake up call to Caitlyn to get some help and listen to her boyfriend that she needs some medication. >> Yeah, she's got some problems going on. You can see it in her face. There's a touch of crazy going on right now. So but in the end Wyatt got to stay with his owner and we'll figure out what I'm sure that the courts probably did not hold her and I doubt they'll do much with her when they finally do get her. So All right, let us know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. We'll catch you on the next video and don't forget Chick-fil-A is the go to. I think everyone already loves Chick-fil-A. >> Like if you can bear the line which they move pretty quick, it's worth it. It's all right. We'll see you in the next video.
