Your your phone's right here. What I'm saying is like with us together, like can we just go through it together? >> No. The only reason is cuz I have a lot of gay like not gay stuff, but stuff that would be weird for you to see. >> All right, everybody. Welcome back to another Friday with Janelle, but Janelle's not here. Tomorrow is the grand opening at our kids ranch out in Tennessee. Um, so if you're coming to that, we'll see. We'll see you there. Uh, but she's out there getting things ready. Today I got Jack in the Box. I don't know if you guys have Jack in the Box or what I refer to as Jack in the Crack. Um, but I got two things of fries, which I get to eat both of them now. Curly and regular fries. So, that's what we're doing. Eating the fries. We got a body cam today. Comes from EWU Body Cam. And it is predator caught hiding in a 14year-old's closet for a week. I haven't seen it. Let's go. >> How old she is? >> No, I met her on floor. Is she young? >> Tell me. >> She's 14 years old. >> I made sure she got homesick. I'm pretty much the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man cuz everybody knows. >> He described him as a scrawny white boy crawling in and out too. I have a whole bunch of old emails saved from them, screenshots and whatnot. much of it. Very graphic in nature and apparently >> this is like a nightmare for parents too. >> Been in there hiding in her closet for a few days. >> On June 15th, 2025, police in Oshkosh, Wisconsin received reports that a man has been seen climbing in and out of a 14-year-old girl's bedroom window. What follows is an investigation that would uncover disturbing details and a parents worst nightmare come true. >> What's on your neck? >> My neck? Um, no. some marks. >> The following is based on official. >> When you ask somebody something, they're like, "What are those marks on your neck?" or "What's on your neck?" "Oh, my necklace." "No, no, the marks." You know, you need to dive in deeper, and I'm sure they are. >> These records released to date, and the footage has never been seen before until now. Following the unsettling call reporting that a man was seen crawling out of a teenage girl's window, officers find 19-year-old Zachary Vote where he's lording a few streets away from the home. >> Yeah. So, we we got a call. What's up over here? >> We got a call. We got to investigate. Okay. All right. >> Um where you're essentially the suspect of this stuff going >> so 19 years old, that's a problem. 19 and a 14year-old, that's against the law. Seriously against the law. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Um, do you have any weapons or anything on you? >> Well, don't reach for it. Jesus, do >> I'm sorry. >> Here, go. >> When Jesus Christ, when police ask you a weapon when police ask if you have a weapon, don't reach for it. Okay. >> Don't reach for it. >> No. >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> Don't reach for your pockets. I just said that. >> Sorry, dude. Zach reveals that he traveled from Westchester, Pennsylvania to Oshkosh, an almost 25-hour trip by train and arrived last night. He's come all this way to meet someone he befriended while playing Fortnite. >> She was literally my best friend. We came and met together. >> You came? >> Yeah. >> To visit her? >> Yeah, my best friend. >> So, how did you meet her? This is the problem with um the way society is now. Video games, all this online stuff. It's like you never grow up. When this kid when we were 19, we had worked every summer. We didn't have I mean, if we wanted to go out on a date with a girl, we had to show up and talk to the dad first. These kids now, his best friend's a 14-year-old girl, and he travels 25 hours on a train to come see her. and he met through Fortnite. You're grown. What is he doing? Go get a job. >> We met through Fortnite basically. Um, we all we all play Fortnite. My brother and I would all duo up play Fortnite together, but we we played Fortnite a lot, came over, met her, talked to her. We became best friends for a while. >> The girl who is 14 will be referred to as SF in order to protect her identity. So, you guys said how long has you guys been talking for? >> Year. >> A year. >> Yeah. >> Almost a year, actually. 8 months to be exact. >> Okay. >> Have you guys been planning this out or is this >> kind of just a last minute thing cuz I was going to travel the most. >> Okay. >> But I'm not trying to do weird mind language, speak my French. Um, >> so it's like a last minute thing. >> Yeah. I was already planning to go pretty much across the entire world. I don't have a passport, so I was just going to stay in the US, obviously. >> But my freaking journey was going to start. We already went through Chicago. I already went through Chicago and everything. I went all over the place. >> Yeah. >> My current goal, I want to get to Italy. So, I'm going to get a passport somewhere around. >> Well, I don't think you're going to get a passport after today. And um I don't think you're going to make it to Italy cuz you're probably going to get uh who knows? Judges nowadays and lawyers, who knows? But he'll certainly be on the register of sex offender registry. Hopefully catch a felony, I hope, and not be able to get a passport. We'll see what happens. >> Anywhere near here? Is there any good spots I can go? Like a library or something? I have a >> passport. Zach claims he met up with SF again today, just before the officers arrived. >> What were you guys doing? So if you look at the body language, the body language is very he doesn't want to look him in the eye and he doesn't want to be uncomfortable not looking him in the eye. So what people tend to do is they tend to fidget around, grab things, move, stand up this. And if you look at him, he's constantly fidgeting. He doesn't want to make eye contact. And he's pretending to be nonchalant about it cuz that way he thinks that they're not going to think much of it. like you're just downplaying it. There's no problem here. >> Walking around, we literally just got her stuff for her dad. >> I actually went out, bought her stuff for her dad cuz it's Father's Day. I don't have a dad, so I pretty much want to bless everybody else. I hate seeing people upset. >> Mhm. >> I can't literally stand having anyone upset. So, I gave her money for stuff from the dollar store. We went to the dollar store. chilled at the dollar store. Got her stuff for her dad. >> Chilling. Yeah. Nothing illegal. I'm just chilling here. Nothing weird. I'm going to go explore with y'all. Then you will not here, but I'm going um You guys, have you been all around the world? >> I have not. >> Have you do you know anywhere that's like you've been dying to go to? >> Not really. >> Steering the conversation back to why they're there. The officer asks if Zach has ever been to SF's house. Did you go into her house at all? >> Not really. >> What do you mean not really? >> I went out the window. >> Okay. >> She climbed out. >> When somebody says, "Have you gone to her house?" No, not really. That's a problem. Means a yes. That's a yes. >> Okay. And then you guys went somewhere else. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Me? I made sure she got home safe. >> Pretty much the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man as everybody shows. Yo, do >> you know how old she is? >> No. I met her on Fortnite. Is she young? >> Tell me. >> Like I said, I don't know how old was. I just came here. I explore. I leave. This what I do. >> While this conversation is taking place, SF's father is also speaking with officers. >> So, we're going to handle it uh at this point. Um given that there's not at this point evidence of that, but that's what we're going to try to determine. So, >> couple things though. Um, we need to get our phone just in case there is evidence on there that would suggest that he is, you know, um, any activity between the two. >> Okay. >> Pictures, whatever it might have you tech. >> So, at this point, what he's, this is they're this is right. They they have an allegation that he was climbing in the window. And even if he admits to climbing in the window, you still got more work to do on developing a case. Um, so what he's saying is they'll get a hold of the phones. They're going to ask more questions, try to put the story together piece by piece, see if they can't um find probable cause for an arrest. >> Back and forth. Like that's all stuff. She's 14 years old. He's 19. >> She can't give consent to any of that, you know, and he knows that. So, >> um, do you think it'd be best if I grab it or if you get it? >> So, he's saying that the that the 14-year-old can't really consent to giving the phone. The dad can. Dad's probably the owner of the phone anyway. So now he's saying, "Do you think I can get the phone?" >> Is it It's your phone. So I already have it. Perfect. >> The 14-year-old's phone would eventually reveal not only a series of stomach turnurning messages, but the disturbing real reason Zach has come to visit her. Her father gives an account of what led him to call the police. >> Just give me a backstory of what >> So basically, they met back in I want to say last fall over Snapchat. Dave, did did you know about this mail prior to today? >> They met back on Snapchat um and developed an online long, >> which didn't really answer the question. He asked if he knew about that, but then he just went right back into saying that he developed an online relationship. So, didn't answer the question whether he knew or not. >> Relationship. Um once I became aware of it, once I became aware, he was 18 at the time. >> Um we put a kaibash on it. SF's parents restricted her social media access and attempted to monitor her phone activity. >> Very good. Parents did what they were supposed to do, found out about it, stopped it. The problem is kids are very resourceful and they find all these different ways whether it's Snapchat or Fortnite or all or any other game. Um they find a way to communicate >> last year. >> Yeah. Okay. >> October, November. Um went as far as I spoke with his mom about it because she was not aware. Um Facebook. Okay. >> Um did some backtracking through him on Facebook, found his aunt. Then she directed me to her mom uh to his mom and uh she was on that that no, this is wildly inappropriate. You're going to get yourself in a whole world of trouble here. >> Mhm. >> And as far as we knew, that was more or less the end of it. Um I had suspicions they were still like on Fortnite, maybe finding a way to talk, but never never had any evidence of it. While her father is right and they stayed in contact over Fortnite, SF and Zach had been communicating through other means to avoid detection, such as email and Spotify. Dang. See, there's all sorts of I mean, email obviously is a common one, but Spotify, I don't think people tend to think about communicating through Spotify. >> What's on your neck? >> My neck? >> Um, no. Like the marks. >> I don't know. You know that you might as well just be straight up. Dude, >> I didn't want to her or anything. I didn't. I just >> falling apart. They got him with the what's on your neck and he knew he was caught. Now all of a sudden he's like I didn't want to You don't have sex with her. >> I came here to literally explode. >> Well, describe to me like how that happened. Like >> she was kissing me. Just kissing me. >> Okay. What else happened? >> What do you mean? >> Well, if if you're starting to do that, I'm sure there's more. >> Get your hands out of your pockets. >> Just kiss. Okay. So, >> okay. >> I am someone at this time person. >> Okay. So, you did not >> liar >> going to her house like at all. She came outside when you knocked on the window. >> Mhm. >> Look at him. He's looking down. Not looking. Mhm. He doesn't want to answer cuz he's lying. You I would say like, "Hey, we have witnesses that say they saw you crawling through a window. So, we know that you've been in our house, so stop lying about it. Was there any any like did you guys have >> just kissing? >> If you want to consider it that way. >> No, just kissing. >> I'm not about to show y'all that. That's weird. >> After a little more pressure from the officers, Zach admits a bit more happened between him and SF. >> I just gave her a hickey bag. >> Okay, >> that's where did that happen at exactly? and we're on the train tracks. >> Zach claims he then returned SF to her house and left. However, the neighbors dispute this. The next day, they contacted SF's father, telling him that they had seen SF sneaking out of her bedroom window, and she wasn't alone. >> Then saw um he described him as scrawny white boy crawling in and out, too. >> And he said, "Now I've got daughters." And you >> What time was this? >> Um that was God, must have been close to 7:00. 7:00 p.m. >> Um, it was shortly before I I called this. >> Got >> and he said uh he hollered at him, asked him what he was doing and he took off running. He got me out and we walked around the house and we couldn't find him. Um, and that was about the time I talked to her, talked to my daughter and figured out who it was. And apparently he's been in there hiding in her closet for a few days. >> Really? >> Yep. >> Jeez. You'd be so ticked off as a parent with your own child and obviously with this kid, too. >> According to his mom, he left last Friday. >> SF's father explains that he doesn't often go into her room, so he's not sure exactly how long Zach may have been hiding in there, but it's likely around a week. >> I'm not going to see her again tonight. Okay. How'd that conversation go? >> She kind of got upset. I felt kind of bad, but I'm like, I do this every time. >> Okay. So, if we ask her that, she's going to say the same thing. >> What's your name, man? >> Zack. >> Zack, are you willing to come back to the PD with us and make a statement? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> With it clear that Zach isn't being entirely honest, he's then transported to the Oshkosh Police Department. >> Would you personally buy one of these like >> these kind of cars? [sighs and gasps] >> When they make a little small talk like this, little chitchat that they don't want to face the consequences. >> Yeah. >> You go back this way, sir. as if as if we're going to be like, "Yeah, you can get one of these. I know. You know, you're cool. We should send you on your way." No, that's not how this is going to go. Um, just Yeah. >> Sorry. I don't know whether it's just the Italian me coming up or whether I'm just like tweaking. Not tweaking tweaking, but like >> a little nervous. Yeah. >> I don't [snorts] know. I don't get questioned by cops every day when I move around. >> Zach is reassured that he's free to go at any time. >> Where did she like start kissing? >> That's important because in this I I'm guessing they probably mirandized him as as well. Um, but you have to reiterate now. Typically when we do an interview like this, um, you'll set it up to where they are closest to the door because if the door is in this shot you're looking at behind the officer, they could later on say, "I didn't they said I was free to leave, but I didn't feel like I was free to leave because I was stuck in the back corner of the room and then they were in the way." So, it depends on where they sit too, but you want to re reiterate to them that they are free to go. Um, that's important so that as you're having this conversation, especially if you did not Miranda, that you don't lose this when it goes time time to go to court. >> Was like on the lips like Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. So, then after you guys were you guys like making out? Was it just like a little peg? Like >> Yeah, kind of making out but not like actually and no touching on nothing. Just kind of just on my neck and that's about it. No clothes came off nothing. >> You touching anywhere else? I mean, I get it, man. If you're like making out with a girl like >> No, dude. >> Did you hear what he did? That we do that often in investigation. No, I get it, man. You know, like if you're making out with a girl and sometimes your hands get a little handsy, you want them to feel comfortable and feel like, ah, it isn't a big deal. And then they admit to it. And so that's kind of what the other officer detective is doing here. >> I'm not trying to catch a random STD, man. I can't trust that. See, kissing kissing was scary enough. I ain't trying to do none of that. >> No, she ain't my type. She ain't my touch. Maybe just for the fun. No, not even that. Just the fun. That's what this was. Kiss. That's fun. That ain't no love. I might be a heartbreaker for that, but that ain't it. >> No matter what Zach claims, SF's phone tells a different story. >> Her and Zach's relationship like were they was it or was it did she say anything to you? >> To me, no. Um, pretty much. And I have I have a whole bunch of old emails saved from them, screenshots and whatnot. >> Really? Um, >> okay. [clears throat] Lot much of it. Much of it very in nature. >> Okay. >> Um, about all the >> that's gonna be a problem for Zach. >> They want to do to each other and >> perfect. >> Would you like give us consent to go through your phone to see I mean I'm not saying that we don't trust you or anything but like just to see like if there was any text messages or anything like that in between you. Right. >> The thing is that obviously you know there's her story and then there's your story, right? There's two sides to every story, right? >> And that's kind of what we're trying to find out is >> No, just ask her cuz I'm I need my phone right now. >> No, your your phone's right here. What I'm saying is like with us together, like can we just go through it together? >> No, not right now. >> No, not right now. [laughter] >> Do we have to make a call? >> Okay, listen. I'd never let the police go through my phone either. Not It doesn't matter if you don't have anything to hide or not. You make sure police have a warrant and I'm a cop. Um, but I'm also believe in the Constitution, Fourth Amendment, and you should have probable cause to go through somebody's phone. >> Is there if is there any reason >> or a warrant? A warrant >> is cuz I have a lot of gay like not gay stuff, but stuff that would be weird for you to see. Like literally from >> I'm sure I've seen a lot weirder stuff. Like I'm not here to like judge like whatever you're into. No, it's nothing I'm into. It's the sugar stuff I was talking to you about. >> It's the you you pretty much catfish men into giving you money. >> According to court documents, Zach admitted that he and an ex. >> Oh, the story just gets more and more weird. >> Girlfriend would send pictures to men. >> That's extortion for photos in return and then demand money in exchange for not exposing them. He also admitted to trying to do this with SF. You never. >> So, he's admitting to extorting and now he admitted that he was trying to do this to SF being the girl. Remember the uh 14-year-old girl >> tried that? >> And I haven't personally. No. >> You? >> I can't say I have. No. >> Given that SF is a minor, the officers once again attempt to establish. >> He's like, "Haven't you tried that?" You no. >> How much Zach knows about her age. >> Did she ever tell you how old she was? >> No. How old did you think she was? >> 16, 17. I'm only 19, so that wouldn't be able to >> She was like 16 or 17 >> at least. Yeah. And that in my eyes, there was a full year thing back where I was from. As long as there's no weird going on. >> Yeah. No, I like I'm just >> I'm just trying to make that out there cuz if there's no weird that's not illegal. >> Um like >> Do you know how she is? >> I do. Yeah. >> Oh, dear God. Can I hear it? just, you know, one thing at a time, right? Oh. >> While this conversation is taking place, officers at the home received permission to enter SF's bedroom, where Zach has apparently been hiding for the past week. >> Best of luck. It's an absolute nightmare. >> Okay. >> Holy Christ. >> Oh, disgusting. In SF's room, they find a black machete, some of Zach's tank tops, his diploma, Xbox, and Blu-ray player. >> Can I come to that bathroom real quick? >> Um, yeah. Can you give me like two seconds? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Uh, I think you're full of >> Yeah. Um, she's telling us kind of what's going on. Okay. >> Yeah. >> It's time to be honest. >> All right. What do you mean by that? >> I know you're messaging her. I know a lot more. >> Yeah. >> I know a lot more than you think I know. >> All right. >> Okay. So, it's time to be honest. >> Yeah. >> So, tell me about what's going on. >> So, I pretty much dated this girl for September to now >> and I can't move her pretty much. I ain't bang her or nothing. I didn't talk about it in text, but I didn't actually. >> Though, Zach won't allow them to go through his phone. His lock screen is an image of two hands held together by their pinky fingers. In the middle of the screen are the words together and the date October 3rd, 2024. The day he says he started dating 14-year-old SF. >> Just be straight up like what type of things were you guys talking about? >> Just I don't know bunch of other stupid like we'll be normal and then it'll be random. >> Did we? Not at all. Did I want to? >> No. Did I love her in a way? Yeah. >> Okay. >> Was it intense like that? No. See, if I'm saying that on text, I'm not doing it. I'm not I'm okay. I'm I know I am. I'm not going to go into Oh, yeah. No, I'm not actually doing it. [clears throat] >> Officers reported that in messages to SS. >> For all us parents out there, this kind of brings trauma back. It's like when you're talking to your kids about different things and they answer you like this. Ah, you know, I was random and they don't look you in the eye and they don't want to tell you the truth. Zach wrote, quote, "I own you. You're mine." Throughout the messages, Zach tells her on a continuous basis that he needs her, can't be without her, and that she is his. >> So, when you guys were messaging back on >> That's creepy. >> Back and forth on Gmail about like the whole thing, was there any like um like photos sent by either of you? Like, did she send you anything? Did you send her anything? Was there anything like that? Not really. It was the very first was like October. >> It's a no or a yes. Not a not really. Not really means yes, you did >> or something. That's it. And it's deleted. She didn't She had it on her phone, not mine. >> Yeah, you can work on uploading those ones to that link again. >> Yeah, someone a bunch of them discussing hiding cuz they once they were busted. Um trying to find the more graphic ones. While many of the conversations between Zach and SF were graphic in nature, they also discussed running away together if they got caught. In one message, Zach refers to her as his Juliet. When confronted by the investigators, Zach finally cracks. >> Dude, just be straight. >> I don't. >> This is your time to tell your side of things. >> We We bang one time. Just one time. >> He said they handbang. This is like a a meth user when you ask people did you use meth? No, it's been like six months. But and then a few minutes later you say, "Well, when was the last time you used? It's been like a month." And then you talk to him a little bit more. Oh, it was a week ago. And then you talk to him a little bit more and then it was, "Well, they smoked 10 minutes before you pulled him over." That's this kid. The longer you talk to him was, "No, we just were kissing. Then it was this. Then I was I wasn't going to bang her. Now he's banging her. It's It's always worse than what he's just he tried to downplay it. Now he's caught. He should just come clean. >> It wasn't even like anything serious >> catch that night. But that's what I'm even more worried about. You wear a rubber. >> No, but I pulled out and we went out. I went out by myself and I went back to the street. Cuz my worry obviously is you guys aren't able to detain him, >> you know, past questioning and he tries to come back here, >> right? Well, I mean, at the very least, I have enough to bring him to jail on fourth degree assault. >> Okay. So, thanks for being honest, man. Like, >> yeah, I'm sorry. I was a bit nervous earlier. I told you if I if I have to piss, I'm not going to really talk much cuz I'm not trying to piss. I'm trying to think of something else. But, dude, I'm going to be honest. I I don't I don't need to lie. I have zero purpose in lying to y'all. >> You've been lying the whole time. And when they tell you, "I don't have to lie. I'm not I don't have a reason to lie." Lying gets you in trouble. That's means he's about ready to tell you another lie. >> Get you in more trouble. Is worse if you lie. Just be honest. Get your life together and move on. We never met. We're all good. I go home. I'm good. Literally not a bad person. just grew up in a bad area. >> With Zach's belief that he's headed home after this conversation, he's in for a rude awakening. >> And I don't want to have you face the wall and put your on your back. Okay. >> You got it. >> You're not going to be placed on the reverse at this point. >> So, here's the deal. Um, you're going to we're going to be sneaking out for a child and then using a computer device [snorts] to facilitate crime. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Can you get sit? >> Yeah, I got you. >> They're being nice to him. >> Um, I don't want to really ain't going to tell nobody. We cool. I ain't mad. You got I don't even know how you can tell me before I make myself work. I'll tell you about >> I see 16 17. >> He's doing that to make it sound like he didn't truly know. He knew he knew how old she was. >> Don't be scared. >> According to police documents, Zach eventually admitted that his mother told him SF was only 14 after she'd been contacted by SF's dad. He explained his reason for continuing the relationship despite the age difference was that he loved her and it was a different feeling. >> I thought he said he didn't really care. I mean, it was kind of >> he was trying to downplay it, but it's these the little nerds, the goof the little goofy kids, weird kids like this, they don't have somebody that likes him. And now they they go after this young girl. And now uh they he finally has somebody that likes him and showing him attention and they become total creeper stalkers here >> than he had experienced with anyone else. >> Hey, we cool though. >> Yeah, we're good, man. >> I'm good. >> You all good? >> We're good. Listen, man. I'll have fun with you, bro. >> No, listen. I'm just doing my job. >> Yeah. No, you're good, bro. >> I would have been like, "Yeah, no, you can't do this. No, we're not cool." And you all you did was lie. And I'm going to reflect it in my report that you lied and lied and lied until you finally told us somewhat of the truth. Zachary Vote was charged with secondderee assault of a child, use of a computer to facilitate a child crime, and exposing a child to harmful material. He plead not guilty and in October 2025, all charges were dismissed by the pro Oh my goodness. >> [sighs] >> these prosecutors. All charges dismissed by the prosecutor. His case was then picked up by the federal court and Zach was charged with travel with intent to engage in illicit conduct with a minor production of child and coercing a minor for unlawful activity. In a letter to the judge, Zach wrote that he takes full responsibility for his actions. He plead guilty to the production of child. As part of his plea agreement, the other two charges were dismissed. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Following the completion of his sentence, he will be on supervised release for 15 years in order to comply with the requirements of the offender registration and notification act. We had to cut many details from this video for YouTube. Watch our full videos as they were originally made with no randomly muted words or details cut. We've also dropped brand new EW videos available only on EW Plus. All right, EW. I guess I've been saying it. Ewu body cam. Ewoo body cam. Um, thank you for the video. I'm so sick and tired of prosecutors dismissing charges, but I have to tell you, they probably dismissed it thinking. So, sometimes you'll work in conjunction with the feds, and you will figure out who has the heavier sentence. Sometimes state charges can carry a heavier sentence. Sometimes the feds can carry a heavier sentence. It is very possible that they dropped the state charges. I might have overreacted init a little too quickly when I saw that they dismissed the charges. You can understand because how many times have we watched when they've dismissed the charges, but it sounds like to me like they dismissed the charges so that they could prosecute him federally, which probably got him a heavier sentence. 15 years in prison, deserves every year of them. And u I got a a sneaky suspicion that he's going to be getting conned now while he's in prison. that he's got some problems. He's a sex offender. He can't They're not going to even put him in general population. They would they would use and abuse this kid and probably kill him if he was in Genpop. So, um, man, at least they got him 15 years registered as a sex offender. I was right. He won't get a passport. He's not going to be able to travel anywhere. And he'll be in prison for a long time, which is where he deserves to be after taking advantage of a young kid of a juvenile.
