All right, everybody, welcome back. We've got another video for you. This one comes from Midwest Safety and it is This might be my most viewed video just because of the title. Sex offender accidentally lights himself on fire. Let's go. I shouldn't be laughing, but Milwaukee, Wisconsin, backyard surveillance. What you just saw was a sex offender who just took his shot at arson for the first time. Surveillance footage shows the suspect walk onto the property, approach a $40,000 Cadillac Escalade with a gas can, [music] and audio from the surveillance can be heard of gasoline being poured on the vehicle. What it heard. Not only is he a vehicle vehicle on fire, likely with a lighter or a match, drops the gas can on the grass, and accidentally sets himself on fire as the vehicle bursts into flames. He then runs off the property in a panic. What happens next though would be even more unexpected. So, not only is he a sex offender, he goes and lights somebody's property on fire. This guy Looks like uh he got what he deserved, to be honest with you. I'm trying to be nice about this. He's still on fire. Oh, come on. This is too good. Gold. Oh, man. That's not funny. It's funny that he's on fire. >> Oh, and you know what he's thinking. He's like, "Oh, no." Oh, his pants are down around his ankle. Stop. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Knock him down. Okay, first of all, when I would run up on somebody like that and they're not knock him down to the ground. We used to have something called an impact push. Boom. It knocked him right off their feet. That allows you to gain control of them. It kind of shocks them a little bit and it doesn't really hurt him. It just but it's a good way to get control of situation. Turn over, you idiot. 211, dispatch start fire. Hello. He lit a car on fire. Hello. Stop resisting. Get on the ground. Hello. Send me another. We're in the I've said it before. It is okay to deliver strikes, knees, other strikes. You can deliver punches. You got to gain compliance in this situation. You know he just lit a car on fire. Don't run the risk of him potentially having more gas on and lighting you on fire. Get it under control. Shut up. We're in the area of um Boulevard and I got to pee. >> Get on your stomach. I got to pee. I got to pee. Stop resisting. I got to pee. Burned it. Put your hands behind your back. Do it now. Put your hand behind your back. It's a dangerous situation. You don't know if he has a gun in his coat or he clearly came to burn a car. Send fire for this guy, too. He's going to be in custody and he was on fire. Stop resisting. >> get the cuffs on first, then you can worry about the radio or Oh, now the homeowner comes out and is better move the other car. I'm a arsonist. STOP RESISTING. OH, MAN. GIVE ME YOUR HAND. DONE A GOOD JOB. He's there by himself, so Yeah, get that out of there. Damn, that stinks. Burned that Cadillac Escalade. Car on fire in the area of I think I left the car on fire. Dispatch, this is 41 Gulf. Any use of force? I didn't use the force. Shut up. >> [laughter] >> He's like, "Shut up." Oh, come on. I'm a arsonist. It's what a fire lives for, man. You get the fire to put out an actual fire. Usually they respond to mental health issues. The suspect mentions he has chips on him. However, since this is his first documented arson case, he could have just been hungry. Take his hoodie off. Take his hat off. Pulling off car fire. Get in there. >> [laughter] >> Move your feet. I like this guy. He's like, "GET IN THERE." THAT CAR IS GIVING ME TOTAL. RIGHT FOR THE VEHICLE that's on fire. Start knocking and see if you can get people. Fire, let himself on fire. >> [laughter] >> All of a sudden I See in the vehicle? No, oh, that's his gas can. Yeah. Cuz I he was right over there in front of the house and he was on fire. Uh primary, move your squad Yeah. for fire. I got you. I got your guy. Okay. He was he lit himself on fire. He lit himself on fire? Yeah, he lit the car on fire. I was in the So, the reason he says, "I got your guy." is because we're all assigned beats. And so, he clearly knows this guy is probably He looks like he's in an unmarked, so he's probably on a gang unit or some type of street crimes unit. And so, he probably has a different responsibility. This is a beat. So, the guy that walked up, it's probably his beat, so this would be his report. And he said, "I got your guy already." >> parked, and I saw the car fire, and he was out in the front yard, and his leg was on fire. Somebody parked and came in, but I didn't see anybody come out. What? Shut up. Shut up. >> [laughter] >> I love how he's like, "Shut up." Yeah, cuz you lit yourself on fire. Look, we deal with these folks all the time, criminals, mental health, all that stuff. And we we know the game, and so, don't think that he's being rude. We know how how the game is played with these folks, and how they try to play you, manipulate you. That's why I love he's like, "Shut up." He clearly can breathe, he's talking. Watch him. No injuries or anything? Someone needs to check him out cuz he was on fire. Okay. You got a med unit coming? Yeah, that's fine. They're not in any hurry, though. They don't care. All right. He can wait. Is this your Is that your Escalade? That's your Escalade? Yeah. Okay, you got your ID, boss? Yep. See if he knows him. I didn't I saw him on the front, but he had his left leg was on fire. So, I His leg was on fire, and then I put two and two together and he was [ __ ] running. Oh. So I told him to stop I pulled up told him to stop and he started to And then yeah, cuz he was running. So I pulled up hopped out told him to stop and he continued running. Took him down over there. Put hooked him up. Where's he at? In mine. Oh, he's in mine. Yeah, he's in mine. I got to ring a lawyer. After police spoke further with the victim who owns the Cadillac Escalade, he revealed his vehicle was worth approximately $40,000 and that he didn't give anyone permission to set his car on fire. He also said that he doesn't You have to put that in the report though. Like you have to put it in that hey, you did not give permission because technically, I guess if you wanted him to destroy your property, he has the right to have destroy his own property. It sounds stupid, but he had to clarify he didn't set it on know who the suspect is. The suspect, Steven, has a wide range of criminal history including being a sex offender and not registering himself as one, domestic battery, soliciting a child for and tampering with a GPS device. Okay, not only is he a sex offender, he's a pedophile. He solicited a child for prostitution. He didn't burn enough on this. So, sorry. And the scriptures say it's better that they tie a millstone around his neck and be sunk to the bottom of the ocean than to be taken advantage of or hurt a child. So, While he had never had any history of committing arson, for this case he was charged with felony arson of a property other than a building, felony bail jumping, and resisting obstructing. After pleading guilty to all three charges, he was sentenced to two years in prison and two years of extended su Not enough. Destroying a $40,000 piece of the vehicle. What if he hurt somebody? pervision. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, pursue and maintain employment, complete a mental health evaluation, and to pay $14,106.52 in restitution to the victim. While Milwaukee, Wisconsin has a history of large amounts of arson incidents in previous years, [music] recent data from the Milwaukee Police Department suggests arson-involved crimes are actually beginning to trend down with a 41% decrease from 2025 to 2026. Throughout the past 10 years, police in Milwaukee and around the country have taken measures to help prevent and deal with arson cases. Working closely with fire departments, partnering with federal departments like ATF, and increasing advertisements for the public to report suspicious activity are some of the many strategies police departments around the country have employed and continue to practice to deal with arson cases. So, I find it a little odd that they didn't know each other. I'm not saying that they were working together, but I just find it odd that they were But, you have to look at this. I mean, there's you you want to make sure that the victim and the for insurance purposes, and a lot of times the insurance companies will do this part of it because in this case if the insurance cover company covers it, they become the victim as well. And so, they would have to want to follow you know, follow through on it. But, you would look and see if there was a connection, if he paid him to come and burn his car. Maybe this guy hates him, but you don't just walk in and burn a normal car. It just seems a little odd, little random to me. So, I don't know what that I buy that. But, let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe. Did he get what he deserved? Did he burn enough? Um was 2 years enough? But, uh for this sex offender, you know, life karma has a way of catching up with you, especially if you're out soliciting children. So, let me know what you think. Comment, like, subscribe, and I'll catch you on the next video.
