It all started as a routine traffic stop. According to prosecutors, Evans allegedly told the woman to go down the street with him or go to jail. And in the newly released footage, you can see the two get in their own cars and drive away from the traffic stop, eventually stopping at another location just down the road. You can see Evans get out of his patrol car and get into the woman's car. She then drove further south and parked. That's where Evans allegedly unzipped his pants and told the woman to perform a sex act on him, then allegedly proceeded to sexually assault her. This needs to be said clearly. A police officer cannot lawfully order you to commit a crime, violate your rights, or perform illegal acts. If the order itself is unlawful, refusing it is not resisting. That's why courts examine power imbalance during traffic stops so closely. The full legal breakdown is in the long video. Subscribe for rights-focused analysis. [Music]
