St. Petersburg police say Juliano held a gun to his girlfriend's head and shoved it in her mouth Tuesday morning before she was able to call 911. A Florida deputy was arrested this week. And now investigators say it may not have been the first time. In Hillsborough County, a sheriff's deputy is now facing serious felony charges including armed kidnapping and aggravated assault. Authorities say the incident involved a domestic violence situation where the victim was threatened with a firearm and prevented from leaving. The victim was later hospitalized and the deputy was taken into custody. But then, investigators uncovered something else. A second alleged incident from months earlier. In that case, police say the deputy allegedly used a firearm, restrained the victim, and held her against her will for hours. Two separate incidents, months apart. Same suspect. And all of it coming to light only after the most recent arrest. At the same time, two other members of the same sheriff's office were also arrested in separate domestic violence cases that same week. Three arrests, one department, days apart. At what point does this stop being coincidence? Thin blue lies, baby. So, let's slow this down for a second. Because this story didn't start with three arrests. It ended with three arrests. One deputy is arrested for armed kidnapping. Then investigators say there was another incident months earlier. Same type of allegations, same level of violence, same person. And at the exact same time, two more members of the same department are also arrested for domestic violence. Different cases, different victims, same agency. >> Two Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are on administrative leave without pay and a cadet was fired. >> Yeah, all three were arrested for domestic violence. And News Channel 8's Victoria Lucas joins us live tonight at the Sheriff's office in Ybor City with more. Victoria. Jen, Josh, three arrests over the course of three days. The whole ordeal prompting leaders with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office to hold a press conference earlier this afternoon. Chief Deputy Frank Losat calling all of this a disappointment. As a whole agency, we are deeply disappointed on the actions of the three deputies that happened this week since March 22nd all the way through last night. >> The disappointment surrounding charges related to domestic violence in three cities across Pinellas and Pasco counties. The accused listed on your screen here in order of incident. A former detention deputy cadet, Ivan Ervella, and current deputies Brian Juliano and Dayton Thomas. The two deputies have been placed on administrative leave without pay. The cadet has been terminated from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office and an internal investigation will not be conducted because he was on probation. The Zephyrhills Police Department says Ervella admitted to pushing his wife of 16 years in the chest during an argument over infidelity Sunday evening. St. Petersburg police say Juliano held a gun to his girlfriend's head and shoved it in her mouth Tuesday morning before she was able to call 911. A Pasco County Sheriff's deputies arrested Thomas Tuesday night after a fight with the woman they say he knew. They add the fight escalated to her having to go to the hospital. She's expected to be okay. >> Now, here's where people start asking the obvious question. How does this many incidents stack this close together without something being missed earlier? Because this isn't one moment. This is a timeline. And timelines mean there were points before the arrests, before the headlines, before this became public. And somewhere in that timeline, something either wasn't reported, wasn't recognized, or wasn't acted on. Those are the only options. Because cases like this don't usually appear out of nowhere. They build. They escalate. And eventually, they surface. And when they do, it's not just about what happened. It's about everything that happened before it. >> People are going to have issues, but it's how you address the issues and the outcome. We wish these deputies would have reached out for help. We wished the victims would have reached out for help sooner. They would They wouldn't be in this position that they are in now. And Chief Deputy Losat encourages those at home who may be in a domestic violence situation to reach out to organizations catered to helping victims and survivors like Spring of Tampa Bay or a call or text 911. Josh. Great. Did the Chief Deputy touch on any of the screening process for the deputies? Like if so, did he say if the history of domestic violence came up for the three accused? That's a good question, Josh. So, he explained to us that polygraph tests, employment verifications, and intense one-on-one interviews and more go into the background in investigation, but he said nothing of domestic violence came up for the three gentlemen. And if domestic violence didn't come up, they wouldn't be employed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office. >> Yeah, some heavy allegations, no doubt. Victoria Lucas live in Tampa for us tonight. Thanks so much. >> Now, the sheriff says he's deeply disappointed and that no one is above the law. And that's exactly what should be said after an arrest. But the question people are asking now isn't about what happens after, it's about what happens before. Because if three cases show up in the same week, the real question is, how many didn't? That's the part people are looking at now. Not just the arrests, but the gap between the behavior and when it finally came to light. Thin blue lies, baby. Hey, if you're still here, that tells me two things. One, you actually care about accountability. And two, YouTube hasn't scared you off yet. So, here's the deal. If this video brought you value, do the YouTube things. Like it, share it, subscribe. Funny how rights are a thing of the past. >> I'm not the hero. I'm not the guy. Just pouring out [music] the thin blue lies. I don't run. I don't fight. I just hit record and let them decide. Yeah, I hit record [music] and let them decide.
