Like hundreds of other drivers in Tennessee last year, Steven Smart's blood work showed he was negative for alcohol and drugs. Still, he was arrested for DUI. Obviously, I had a lot, you know, I mean I had a little bit in savings, you know, and I had put the rest on a credit card. Tennessee arrested 419 drunk drivers last year. Phenomenal work. Standing ovation. Except, none of them were drunk. Minor detail. Blood tests later confirmed they were completely sober. Still arrested, still charged, still humiliated. One sober driver had to pay $10,500 just to prove the state messed up. Because innocence isn't free. But arrests, apparently, are. If sobriety isn't enough, and evidence comes last, then the problem isn't the driver. Thin blue lies, baby. [Music]
