On April 2nd, 2024, the Tampa Airport Police Department was called to the scene for a reports of a man potentially causing a disturbance in the security checkpoint zone. The following shows the body worn camera footage of what happened during the incident. Honey, >> what do you guys need? We have a package. All you got to do is search the police. >> Can you search me? >> Unless right here. Can you search me? >> That's what they were going to do. Sir, >> I don't I don't want no man touching me right there, though. That's what I'm telling. That's the whole issue. But since I don't want no man touching me, they got a problem with that. So, can you search me or can a woman search me? It doesn't even matter. Here's the here's the thing. They're going to search you. You don't have to fly. >> Hey, I'm not letting nobody touch. Why does somebody need to touch on my ass though? >> You don't have to fly. >> For what reason? >> Because >> when I'm asking a lady to do it, >> sir. >> Does that make any sense? I'm Look, I'm asking the ladies. I'm not even making it a deal. Just >> I'm going to tell you one more time. >> You can either get sir. >> Hey, can you do it? >> You seem like you see like somebody back up though. Don't touch. Don't neither one of y'all touch me. >> I ain't got a problem that I got before. >> Hey, first of all, calm down. Let us let us work this out. Okay. >> So, I now now that I got him, it's a issue and he can't. >> So, you went from a woman to now I get this man now. It's an issue. >> Let us work it out. Give me a minute. Okay. Just kind of try to stay >> Look where Look where they can't do it. >> But just look at where they pointing. They point out I'm telling you to hold on. >> Why can't he do it? He can shoot what he wants. This doesn't work. But come on, man. If he's just going to do it, >> you stop. Let's figure this out. >> So, at this point, we called our FSD and he's going to have the last day. He can even fly today. >> So, we already started the bridge call. >> But if it's okay, we're not doing it. Why can't you? >> Because they can't do that. They don't want us for the person to choose who they're wanting to. >> That's just how it works. >> But if that's what's >> I get it. And if he says it and he says it's okay, then that's fine. We have no problem. We've been trying to pat him down for a while now. We're not trying to hold him here and that's what he want. >> They told me they want to send a lady. They said a man got >> Okay. Well, sir, >> I said just pat. >> What's your name? >> David. >> Okay. David >> from Atlanta, Georgia. >> Listen to me. Try to just calm down and listen to me. This is how they do things. You can't decide who you patch. Okay? So, it's your choice. You can either allow them to do what they have to do so that you can get on the plane and go where you have to go or you don't have to fly. But let me ask you this options. Let me ask you this, right? >> So I'm allowing them to do the job that they want to do, right? But I'm not allowing them to elect the person that they want to elect because I want to elect the person. So I don't want no man touching him. >> So here's the thing. >> So what's the issue with that? >> You don't have the ability to allow anyone. >> Hey, but he he don't even he it's not even no iss I don't want no man, bro. Why do he got to wear mask? Hey, come on. Just do it. Just do it. Just do it, bro. Just do it. >> I'm not [ __ ] with that. That's stupid going to do it. >> I could have let the man do it right now. I better let him do it. I said I don't want to do it. So what's your choice? >> No, you y'all are saying y' don't want to do it now. >> You feel me? Come on. Just let me get the [ __ ] to Atlanta, man. >> That [ __ ] really just don't start hanging me and hanging me. I've been calm the whole time. I'm Y'all want to pat my gay? >> Yo, we get it. You want to touch me? Go ahead. Huh? >> I'm trying to get you to calm down. >> It ain't no way to do that. Just let me get my [ __ ] so I want you to go to Atlanta. >> I paid to go to Atlanta. I'm a goat. Yeah. So, let's get you there, right? But just skip through this and get you there. All right. >> We're going to be right here. >> We want to get talking. Just do what y got to do. I'm done talking though. >> Somebody touch me. Search me. Do whatever you got to do. That's my dick though. Y talking about. >> Hey, you're going to have to Come on, man. You going have to >> Come on. What? It's everybody. It's me. >> Everyone. It's on me. >> Everybody does. You ain't it. You're not special. They would have to do it to me if it was me. You know, it's just the way that's that's flying. >> I got it, dude. I get >> you. I get you. >> If you ask for a lady to simply search you to still follow protocol, >> why don't you just send a lady on our FSD at this point with his behavior? We need to get his op. >> How much longer do we have to wait? We got to we can't let him stay here and continue to cause a scene. So >> if you guys want to take him away because of the way he's acting, that's on you. >> Well, we would like for him to fly, but I need to know what's going on. >> They make the phone call. It's a bridge call. It's the whole airport. >> We got to answer. Can we get somebody to pat him down so we can get this over with? He said, "Let's do it." >> We have a manager on the bridge call. >> They have to make the decision. We're not allowed to make that decision. >> Can we get that decision sooner than later? way over right now. >> Where's she coming from? >> She's coming from F. >> Who is it? >> Excuse me. >> Yeah. >> All right. Listen, Dave. Listen. Listen to me, David. >> What? I do everything I ask. >> I know. I know. Well, they're talking. I get it. They're talking to their manager so they can make decisions and then hopefully we can get you searched and get you on your plane. >> But now we got to wait because of this. >> Cuz >> because you're making a big deal. Cuz you're making a big deal. I made a big deal. I make a big deal. I just walk through the machine. I do what y'all say. I take my shoes off. I step in line. I put my own. >> I'm going to tell you one last time, David. You're either going to calm down or we're going to leave. >> Am I not explaining what go on though? >> Listen to her. >> Is that calming down or am I explaining calm down and we're going to stop? >> Am I not explaining what go on though? >> Listen to her. >> Is that calming down or am I explaining? >> We're going to calm down and we're going to stop raising our voice and we're going to stop. >> Am I explaining what's going on? You ready to leave? Am I calm? Am I Am I Am I just explaining you already explained it? We already explaining what you want to explain to me. >> And we're done. I explained. >> So you got to have the last word for can I not say my skill because you're a police officer and your job is to do to serve us. >> To make sure that we good to make sure that we come. >> So let me answer this. >> No, don't ask me anything. Now what she said is final and that's it. That's what you me as a police officer. Right. really as police out. >> Are you refusing to leave? >> So, at this time, I'm trespassing. >> Oh my god. Bro, >> you have the choice to leave. >> But you didn't search me that one time. So, you didn't have nothing on me. >> Getting trespassed. >> You didn't have nothing on me. >> Let's go. >> [ __ ] So, y'all just made me walk out of here cuz I don't have nothing on me. >> Are you going to leave? Let's leave. Come on. >> Well, y'all are crazy as hell. >> Hey, where my stuff at? >> Where the uh where the uh >> stuff? >> That's crazy. Don't do that. Hey. Hey. >> Hey. Now, what are you doing now? I'm grabbing my What is going on now? >> I grabbed myself. Hey, hold on. Hold on. >> Nope. >> So, now what I did? >> Cuz I grabbed myself. >> What are y'all doing? >> You're being arrested for trespassing after warning. >> Trespassing where? >> Did you not listen to one word we were saying, my man? >> Where am I trespassing? I'm right here with a ticket. >> You were? >> Yeah. with a ticket and y'all ain't got nothing on me. Y'all talking about some What is on me? Y'all talking about my dick on the pit still. >> Trespass. You ain't got nothing. >> Trespass, buddy. >> Trespass on what? There's a ticket right there. >> How many times they tell you to to stop yelling and calm down and now you're leaving? >> I'm yelling. I'm talking to you. [Music] [Applause] probably on the screen making a big deal for no reason. >> I don't got the same number. Sir nothing. I say y'all can't even search me to find >> time for accidental. >> Hey, >> let me ask you a serious. You have anything down there that you shouldn't have? That's what's making me so I don't have search me. I don't have nothing. I'm trying to check this out, right? I came down here from Atlanta on a off day >> to come and chill because I'm not cutting on hair today. So I came down to Tampa to chill. I have been to 15 spots just drinking, eating, and having a good time. Then I come back here to get on the plane. Then I'm going through this cuz somebody say I got something on me. I don't have a thing on me. >> You're good to chill in the spot. >> I didn't have nothing on me then. That's what I want you to relax. >> That's crazy. >> I think we're all >> Let me ask you this. How you want somebody to relax when somebody telling y'all they don't >> How many How many thousands of people go through TSA? Man, >> I don't know how >> thousands. >> I never been through nothing like this. Not I don't got nothing on me. Y'all doing all of this. That's crazy. >> I'll tell you experience.
