According to reports, he was charged with resisting arrest with violence and DUI. At this time, no additional information has been released about the case. Throughout the incident, the officers remained professional and relied on their deescalation training to avoid a violent outcome. It's a rare example of restraint in a situation that could have easily turned tragic. While Joel is a military veteran, that status doesn't excuse aggressive or reckless behavior, especially when it puts others at risk. Too often, encounters like this end in disaster.
