35 the medic request a helicopter for standby away what the stop stop the train 35 call them Railroad Company tell them to stop moving they're dragging this car with people inside on July 14th 2017 at 2:30 a.m. a Dodge Durango crashed into a stop train on Highway 3 near Main Street in Lamar Texas becoming wedged under a massive tank car just in time a passing driver called for 911 bringing a Lamar police officer to the scene as the officer smashed Windows to rescue the Trap driver and passenger the unthinkable happened the train started moving unaware of the accident 2 miles back the train operator powered up dragging the Durango over 200 fet before firefighters contacted him to stop what unfolds in this police body cam footage is nothing short of chaos adrenaline and incredible quick thinking witness the shocking events as the officer reacts in real time don't forget to leave your thoughts in the comments like the video and subscribe for more heart pounding police action let's dive in all right 35 at the medics in R I believe there's one in tra can you that's love stay on that side lad on the driver's side door open it up inside the door there's a red looks like a keychain it's a glass breaker get that over here 35 got at least one inside trapped [Applause] request a helicopter for stand by 104 make that two buddy hit unlock I know can you hit unlock I know can you get to the unlock button what was talking [Music] about I know I know buddy hold on we got Medics [Music] coming I'm you're fine man you've been in an accident I know [Applause] away what the stop stop the train 35 call the railroad company tell them to stop moving they're dragging this car with people inside or tell the medic see if they can they're closer to the front hey they alert and C just get somebody to all right whoever that is Medics or or units somebody get the go to the front of the train tell them to stop moving they dragg in this [Music] car I'm cutting over to the east side [Music] shine a spotlight in their eye do something to get up at the front one show us on scene one person in the vehicle train still moving two people was anybody else okay never mind I think the fire truck's doing it hold tight [Music] [Applause] hold TI man we're getting them to stop we're getting them to stop got toop all right just make sure somebody physically talks to somebody and make sure they know not to keep moving again I'm talking to now all right this morning Mel do police have any idea exactly how this happened not yet Russ but let me get you up to speed on what just happened tow truck drivers just finally freed that SUV from up and under that train police out here in Lamar are saying drinking and driving may be a possibility for this crash the play-by-play of this whole thing is incredible police say that SUV slid under barricades and slammed into the train which was stopped on the tracks the intersection warning lights still flashing warning Bells still ringing right now and police say there aren't any skid marks to suggest the vehicle tried slamming on its brakes around 2:30 this morning before the crash but guys get this moments later that train starts moving the SUV and the guy and girl inside of it are dragged several hundred feet 911 call started coming in cops raced out here flagged down the train to stop good news both people inside the SUV were conscious when they were flown to Galveston but we don't know how badly they're hurt I mean one of them was trapped inside and had to rescue at this point in time investigators are going to take a closer look at that SUV now that it's been freed and see if we can get to the bottom of what happened this morning guys wow we hope we get some good news on their condition this morning the tow company arrived on scene and spent hours trying to dislodge the Durango from underneath the train but they finally were able to free the SUV both victims were safely extracted from the mangled Durango which had become wedged under the moving train they were transported to the hospital via Life Flight at last check the driver remained in serious condition while the passengers injuries were reported as non-life-threatening police confirmed that drinking and driving caused the crash as open containers were found in the wreckage and there were no signs the driver hit the brakes before impact this harrowing incident unfolded in the early hours of Friday July 7th 2017 on Highway 3 near Main Street in Lamar Texas thank you for watching this intense police body footage and story let us know your thoughts in the comments and don't forget to like share and subscribe for more incredible real life events see you in the next video
