distress calls from multiple businesses reports flooded in about a man causing a disturbance behaving erratically and expressing paranoia convinced that he was being closely pursued as the officer arrived at the scene they were confronted by the enigmatic figure at the center of the chaos 27-year-old William Nicholls what would you like us to do what would you like me to do I don't know what paperwork you're talking about I don't have anything to do do with you getting DSS has nothing to do with me said he's about the flip the out so if you're not taking any drugs then that means you you hasn't used drugs in a while oh he was understanding his sisters actually kicked him out because he's apparently schizophrenic he's not a med he's just using heroin to cope with it right so um at first he didn't want to go to the hospital didn't want an ambulance or anything like that and then he's like all right [ __ ] it I'll go he's seeing the same people we're seeing but he's seeing people getting out of their cars people just looking down the street and he thinks that they're after him so he's not hallucinating he's just paranoid well this is where we are again cuz now you're now can't mental health arrest him because he's paranoid what what's he telling you that that you think are hallucinations he I got him a hotel room in Brockport um for four days this was Monday yeah it was Monday um I went there last night because he hasn't been there to check out and he decided to he tore holes in the walls of the hotel room um said that there were bugs in the walls like like wires you know what I mean yep that um he said he hallucinated that Renee um speaks into the closet the other day he Sunday night Monday night no Sunday night he came came here he hallucinated that my bed was moving and my pillows were moving by themselves while I was sitting on my bed okay um he hallucinated that the kids were acting funny that's the night the ambulance came here actually okay um he called the ambulance said he didn't feel safe in my house because of those things um just like a bunch of stuff that he's hallucinating and he he thinks they're real right we have not observed him claiming to see things that aren't there everything everything he is seeing is actually real but his perception of what those things are is the paranoia you know just somebody paranoid that people are following them is not enough for us to mental health arrest and even the bunch Wars that he has there's no way you guys can call him be like hey this is what's happening to him no like they won't take him nope because of the charges they're non-bailable offenses so he can't according to the bail reform law he cannot sit in jail on those offenses that's why the whole bench warrant thing is completely pointless because they can't sit in jail waiting for their next court day cuz you can't push you can't put bail on him anyways what's up buddy this isn't Sheriff no you're not cop shopping
