100 kids dispersing into the woods that have been drinking. >> Okay. We could hear from down the street. It's more than just a few kids. >> On Halloween night, October 31st, South Windsor dispatchers received a text to 911 message reporting underage drinking at a home on Wildwood Circle. Officers arrived just before 10:00 p.m. to find no answer at the front door, but could hear loud music and yelling from the backyard. As police entered the property, an estimated 100 juveniles fled into the woods behind the home. Empty alcohol containers were found scattered across the backyard, deck, and kitchen. >> Did any of them say whose house this is? >> They had no idea. >> Of course. >> And now you got 100 kids dispersing into the woods that have been drinking. >> Do you have your license with you? >> Yeah, sure. >> I'm trying to see the problem here. You're good, hey, you're good. You're good. Hey, you don't live here, get out. >> Yeah, I'll go and get it. >> Okay. Hey guys, get out of here. Find some sort of ride home. Who's upstairs? Do you know? Are you waiting for somebody? Cool. Body spray. Some of the kids went out and got it. I was just supposed to be a hangout for a few kids with my daughter. Okay, but you see that there are empty bottles of alcohol everywhere. I didn't realize. Just upstairs hanging out with my son. Okay. We could hear from down the street. It's more than just a few kids, right? And people were saying that they got invited in group chat with like 100 kids. Okay. How old is your daughter? Once you realized it wasn't a small hangout for just your daughter and some friends. Oh, just because I have this guy helping me out. I was going to have everybody go cuz I just came literally came home from taking her treating with my son. Okay. >> Yeah. What time did you come home? Like maybe like 20 minutes ago. So, I'm just getting him settled. And I didn't realize more kids had come through. I'm literally just getting home. >> It was like hundreds. Like probably close to 100 kids when we realized that the police were here. >> I had no idea. I had no idea. I had no no idea. I had no idea. I literally just get I went to two different locations. on 420. I just literally know. I didn't know there was any group chat going on or not. All I know is my daughter was having a few girls over. >> Right. And by the time you By the time you came home 20 minutes ago, like you said, you see with your eyes that this is not a small hangout. >> I just I'm just literally >> nothing to to prevent >> realizing it. Literally cuz I had the guy helping me cuz I'm setting up with my daughter. I'm setting up my I had no idea that this crowd is going to show up like that. Like honestly, I didn't know what Just literally got home. My son is upstairs. I had no idea that that number was going to show up. >> If everybody goes home and everybody gets home safe, then you just >> Have everybody go home, please. I did not plan for this. >> So, talk to me about kids being invited in a group chat with hundreds of other kids. >> It's just a Halloween party cuz nobody else is planning a party. So. Okay. >> Have everybody call their parents to go home. I did not plan for this. >> Everyone needs to get a safe ride home. >> Okay. >> Okay? Obviously, people have been drinking and they're not supposed to and that is dangerous and that is not okay and it is illegal. >> Yeah. >> And you knew that this was going on and you thought it was fine. It's not okay. It's not right. It's dangerous. So, you go tell your friends they don't need to run off into the woods. They need to make sure they have a sober ride home. And you clear everyone out of your basement right now. >> Clear everybody. Please. Clear everybody ASAP. Don't cause a scene. >> I'm going to go >> Clear everybody. >> I just literally got home. >> Oh, I'll help clear out. I'll get you try to ride home. >> But this is not a party. >> This is not a party. >> I literally just No. >> Blake, you have to go. >> Hey guys, it's okay. Just get a ride home. You're good. You're good. Just get a ride home. That's it. >> The homeowner, 44-year-old Georgina Thomason, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, told officers she had no idea a party was taking place despite being home at the time and having surveillance cameras mounted around the property. She claimed her 15-year-old child was simply hosting a few friends. Police say that explanation was not reasonable given the scale of what they found. >> You guys don't need to run, but get home safe, okay? Yep. They claim that they were not aware. They're very clearly aware. Like easy. I'm going to pretend I'm not hearing any [ __ ] The parents are home. Our mom is home. And she's like, "Oh, I had no idea. I just got home 20 minutes ago. This is a small hangout for my daughter and her friends." So I was like, "Okay. You got home and you saw that it was very clearly not a small hangout. So and you did nothing." It's [ __ ] And Jeremy thinks sent out I thought Jeremy sent out a thing with statutes. Damn, maybe not. Okay, that's okay. Excuse me. Y'all, I hate people so much. >> That was so funny. Jeremy was like there just dispersing in the crowd. >> We're code four here. Most of the crowd is getting right home. >> Oh, there's a picture of the photo line. >> Code four at 21:27. >> That's awesome. >> Cute, love that for them. Should I just blow that air horn right now? Illegal sale of cuz powdered alcohol. >> Mhm. >> Mhm. In any public street or highway. Possession of alcoholic liquor by a minor in any public So, can I not Hi. >> How are you? Hi, I'm also the kids saying they're getting right home. >> I'm trying to figure out I found the statute for possession of alcoholic liquor by a minor, not necessarily like knowingly supplying. >> like seven kids like holding beers in their hands and you guys got to leave. They're like, "Okay." Yeah, I don't care. Put the beer down and go. Like, you can't sign them all. >> No, I wasn't going to cite any of the kids. I >> No, how long are you here? >> Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what to do for her. >> Reckless? She ever summons to court? >> Reckless is not a summons. They Higgins said that Jeremy sent out an email with statutes, which like I didn't get. >> Oh, I don't think I got it either. Let me see it. >> I'm going to call Zach. >> Hey, what's up? >> Hi. So, uh party shut down, but I want to give the homeowner something. I I don't know if you guys, like supervisors, got an email from Jeremy with statutes, but all I'm >> I didn't get that email, so I don't know what he's talking about. >> Okay. I mean, I found possession of alcoholic liquor by a minor in a private in a private location, but that's I'm not trying to cite any of the kids. I'm trying to cite the homeowner who was home, the adult. So, do you know if there's there's got to be something for that? >> Um let me text Higgins and see if he can just forward me the email. Give me a second. >> Okay, thank you. >> I don't know I don't know who Jeremy sent that to, so give me a minute. >> Yeah, yeah. Thank you. >> All right. >> Bye. Are you looking for someone? >> My daughter and her friends. They're coming. >> Okay. A bunch of kids, uh like scurried Well, yeah, a bunch of them scurried into the back of the woods. >> Yeah. >> So, >> I'm trying to figure out which side they're coming from. >> All right. I'm here. No, I'm good. Um if she has no history, are you cool with a PTA? Okay, awesome. She said that she got home 20 minutes ago and this was just supposed to be a small get-together for her daughter, her 15-year-old daughter and some friends, and it was not. So, I said, "Okay, well, you came home 20 minutes ago, if that's even true, and you saw that that was not the case, and you did nothing about it." Hey, I don't want to pull it up now. >> Do you have like the CT law app on your phone or are you looking in the book? >> Yeah, I'm going into law right now. So, it's 30 >> 89A >> Permitting minor to illegally possess liquor in dwelling. Yep, got it. >> Does Just read that and make sure it makes sense. And then, if that makes sense, do what you got to do and I'm fine with the PTA. Um >> I mean, the the statute reads knowingly or recklessly permit any minor to possess alcoholic liquor. >> Yeah. >> And so, she >> I mean, if she if she got home and then didn't do anything about it, then yeah. >> There's a hundred kids here. It's [ __ ] >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right, cool. Yeah, that's what I'm going to >> Just fill out the the PTA form if you have one in your car. >> Yeah, I do. >> Okay. >> All right, cool. >> All right, thanks. Bye. >> Thank you. Bye. Yeah. Oh. I'm not turned down. Haha. >> 217 >> Can I please get SPRC 208 for Georgina? >> Georgina? >> Georgina >> What do you need? >> I just need you to hang out. Actually, do you have a PTA form in your car? I have one in here, but if you do, could you start on >> summons? It's So, just put WPTA on the summons. >> Yeah, but Zach also wants if I have the form with me, which I do. >> Okay. >> He wants it, too. If you don't have one, then I'll just do it, but if you do, can you start it, please? >> Of course. >> Thank you. And what time is this call? >> 217 >> 217 >> 217 >> Oh my god, did I really >> SPRC 208 was negative. >> Right. you. Huh? Yeah, don't let anyone steal our cars. Thanks. With him in it, he gets kidnapped. All right. Thank you for doing that. Yeah, no. I I don't see why they don't, especially in the basement. Yeah, you're telling me you had no idea that kids were in the backyard. You have cameras up here. Hello. So, as um just the nature of everything that happened, we got to go and check the house, make sure there are no intoxicated teenagers like in a corner, in a closet, anywhere crazy. Right? Okay. >> And I assume you already checked the house, right? You already checked the house yourself? >> Okay. Yeah, okay. >> I'm just going to just check, that's all. Nobody in here. >> When officers approached Tumasi to issue her summons, the 44-year-old denied any knowledge of alcohol being consumed, claiming she had just returned home and that her 15-year-old child was simply hosting a small get-together for a few friends. Investigators, however, say the party was organized through a group chat with more than 100 members. Tumasi was charged with conspiracy to permit a minor to possess alcohol, but was not taken into custody. No public court record is currently available and she remains innocent until proven guilty.
