we just started our shift and we were conducting mobile patrols along headstone Road when my driver noticed smoke coming out of a top floor window we went straight to the windows the front door to see if we could see anyone inside the property a female came to the door which was the worst possible scenario because we couldn't get in and she told us that she couldn't get out came to the decision to smash the downstairs window to get into or to attempt to get into the property unfortunately the interior door was locked two of my officers had climbed in one injured his hand at the time but as I said we couldn't open that door so my officer went around with members of the public to the back of the property where they attempted to use a first of all concrete block and then a glass Hammer to smash the door as they entered the property with members of the public they found the female who was clearly suffering with effects of carbon monoxide she was covered in soot and very confused uh my officers asked for men the public to take her out of the address which they which they did heroic for them to be inside of the address my officers that were in the front of the building in the locked room managed to get the door open when they conducted a search of the downstairs area to see if there's anyone there anyone else inside the property they couldn't go upstairs because the Frosty of the fire so they ended up having to retreat outside the address so my offices that entered in I think are our heroes they have done a fantastic job to in in difficult circumstances the the kitchen was full of smoke there's the obvious risk of the fire upstairs we didn't know the extent of the fire we could see it from outside um the fire was was out of control at that stage um so I think they've done a fantastic job very brave along with the members of the public that entered into the address as well um so yeah I think there's a fantastic job
